Final Chapter:
Lucas vs Palmer
So. This is where it all comes together.
My match against Tower Tycoon Palmer, my best friend's Dad.
I had people cheering me on, including Red and Blue themselves. Whether in person in the Battle Frontier on the big screen or watching it on TV, I had much support.
"Sorry I'm late!" Dressed in cheer leader attire was Dawn, who had taken a break from the Sendoff Spring clean up in order to cheer me on in person. Honestly, I think most people had dropped their priorities to watch this today, as even Florence and Stig had closed the Flower Shop in order to watch this. "Lyra had a spare uniform so she let me borrow it."
I was shaking nervously. You might think that the Champion isn't nervous of any challenge, but that's far from the case. Nerves are healthy.
"I know the rules, just give it my all."
"That's the spirit!" Blue told me. "Just have fun as well."
I needed to get going, to sign up and everything. Can't be late for this one.
Inside the Battle tower felt just like the reception to a business building. There were elevators behind the receptionists, who here were wearing pink and green formal outfits.
"Palmer is waiting for you Lucas" the one in the pink told me. She moved to the side. "This will be a six on six battle. No gimmicks, just pure power is needed aside from both Pokémon being Lv 50. The only thing that is required is to give it your all! Also, you can't use specific Pokémon, but all of yours are fine."
Here we go.
The battlefield here was not really anything special. It was your standard dirt ground in a white room with red doors. I went to one end and Palmer entered and went to the opposite end.
"You've come this far" Palmer said. "I must give every congratulation that I can. Becoming Champion is something that many dream of but few accomplish, and now you have the honour of taking on me in my final battle as Tower Tycoon." We both got our first teammate ready.
"Then let's give you a send-off to remember!" I shouted.
"I choose Toxicroak!" I shouted.
"Go Milotic!" Palmer said, sending out the slender, beautiful Water Type.
"Toxicroak, start with Poison Jab!" Toxicroak ran up to Milotic and jabbed it with a poisonous fist. Milotic was poisoned, but Palmer didn't seem to mind.
"Milotic, use Dragon Pulse!" Milotic shot a green ball at Toxicroak. It went flying back.
"Give it another Poison Jab!" Toxicroak used it again, but it didn't do as much.
"You see, Milotic has the Ability Marvel Scale. Its Defense is raised when it has a status alignment. Use Dragon Pulse!" Another one of these made Toxicroak fly back again. Enough was enough.
After recalling Toxicroak, I sent out Blissey who took an Ice Beam from Milotic. "Now use Hydro Pump!" Milotic shot a blast of water at Blissey. Blissey simply took a few steps back.
"Now use Grass Knot!" I yelled, as Blissey made a blade of grass beneath Milotic. It tripped and did a lot of damage due to weight difference. Milotic was down.
"Clever" Palmer said. "But it's time to take on Articuno!" Palmer sent out a large Pokémon covered in blue feather. It had a long swaying tail behind it as it flapped gracefully on the spot.

Well, now I knew this was gonna be a tough one.
"Come back Blissey" I said. "Come on out Empoleon!" Empoleon entered the field.
"Articuno, Ice Beam!" Articuno fired a shot of ice at Empoleon. It didn't do very much.
"Empoleon, Flash Cannon!" Empoleon shot a white sparkling beam at Articuno for half damage.
"Articuno, U-Turn!" Articuno flew into Empoleon with green streaks behind it, then returned to Palmer. "Come on out Dragonite!" he shouted, as the large orange scaly flyer entered and took the Flash Cannon. "Okay Dragonite, use your Thunderbolt!" Dragonite shot a bolt of lightning at Empoleon. It was a Super Effective hit, but Empoleon took it.
"Use Flash Cannon!" Empoleon shot another white beam at Dragonite.
"Dragonite, Dragon Rush!" Dragonite flew into Empoleon covered in blue, dealing the final blow to my first Pokémon.
"Your Dragonite won't do great Mamoswine!" I shouted, as my woolly brown Pokémon came out. "Use Ice Shard!" Mamoswine fired a chunk of ice at Dragonite. It was ALMOST finished.
"Dragonite, use Fire Punch!" Dragonite's fist caught fire. Then, it punched Mamoswine. Mamoswine was taken back quite a bit.
"Another Ice Shard! Finish it!" Mamoswine fired one more chunk of ice at Dragonite. This finally defeated it.
"Moltres, you're next!" Palmer said, as he sent out a Pokémon that was flying a yellow. Its wings were on fire.

Legendary Pokémon.
Mamoswine wouldn't be facing that, but Luxray would. Out came my Electric Type.
"Moltres, use Fire Blast!" Moltres fired flames at Luxray. THANKFULLY it missed.
"Luxray, use Discharge!" Luxray let loose multiple sparks that scattered the room. My hair went on end as even I felt it. Moltres did to, losing a lot of health.
"Fire Blast again!" Moltres once again fired flames at Luxray, which this time it was caught in. It barely held on.
"Another Discharge!" One more from Luxray and Moltres was finished. Luxray couldn't take much more though. "One more Luxray. Let's see what you're up against."
"Go Rhyperior!" shouted Palmer, the giant brown horned beast fiving Luxray the most "You're done for" stare.
"Luxray, Superpower!" Luxray, with all its power, charged into Rhyperior. This was Super Effective, but it could have done a lot more if it wasn't for the Solid Rock ability.
"Rhyperior, use Poison Jab!" Rhyperior's horn turned purple. Then, it jabbed Luxray for the final blow.
This Trainer was something else, but I was far from done. "Blissey, come out!" I shouted. "Grass Knot!" Blissey made a blade of grass that made Rhyperior trip. It didn't quite finish it, but hopefully my next one could.
"Rhyperior, use Megahorn!" This time, Rhyperior's horn turned green. Blissey was jabbed and it fainted.
"Toxicroak, come out!" I shouted. "Use Sucker Punch!" Toxicroak attacked Rhyperior before it could get another move in. Rhyperior was defeated.
I knew I needed to keep it up for a bit more. But I was starting to tire.
"Articuno, go!" The large blue Pokémon entered the battle once again.
"Toxicroak, Sucker Punch!" Toxicroak jumped up and punched Articuno in the back. It didn't do much, but I knew this would be the final move.
"Articuno, Ice Beam!" Articuno shot the cold beam at Toxicroak. It was a frosty finish to say the least.
"Drifblim go!" I said, knowing full and well of the Type disadvantage.
"Articuno, Ice Beam!" Articuno shot another frigid beam. Drifblim was almost deflated.
"Drifblim, Shadow Ball!" Drifblim shot the shadowy blob at Articuno. An almost knockout, but I knew next move would do it.
"Articuno, Ice Beam again!" One more and Drifblim went down. Of course Aftermath did its wonders and Articuno was down as well.
I only had Mamoswine left. What did Palmer use?
"Go Zapdos!" he said, sending out a large yellow spiky Pokémon with a long beak.
Zapdos

"Mamoswine, we can finish this. Use Ice Shard!" Mamoswine fired another chunk of ice and, miraculously, this one was a Critical Hit!
"Zapdos, Drill Peck!" Zapdos span quickly beak first into Mamoswine.
"Mamoswine, another Ice Shard!" Another bit of ice was fired at Zapdos. One more to go.
"Drill Peck!" I was bracing for loss…
Mamoswine survived!
"Now's our chance! Mamoswine, hit it with an Ice Shard!" With that, Mamoswine fired ice at Zapdos. Zapdos fell to the floor from the sky, giving me the victory.
Palmer smiled as he recalled Zapdos.
"Well, you are impressive. This was not only my final match, but quite possibly the best one yet."
I was panting heavily. "And you do this most days?!" I asked.
"That's right. The best Trainers all over the world come to battle me, and that will be the case for my son now. The induction starts tonight."
I couldn't believe that I had completed the Battle Frontier. "I'll be there" I said.
Upon coming out of the Tower, everyone cheered for me.
"Congratulations!" someone wildly shouted.
"A perfect finale for the strongest Frontier Brain!" shouted another.
Palmer patted me on the head. "I'll deal with the paparazzies. You get ready for tonight."
I nodded, then walked through the crowd, all sticking papers in my face to autograph. Yeah, I had a lot on my mind now.
That night, fireworks burst everywhere as I was brought up on the stage with Barry and Palmer.
"Well, what can I say?" Palmer said. "This has been a wild couple of years, but the road has ended with me, and a new road has started with my successor."
Palmer took off his green coat and gave it to Barry. He wiped a tear from his eye as he put it on. It was, admittedly a little bit big for him. His hands were barely out the sleeves.
"Do I have to wear this?" he asked.
"Of course!" Palmer said. "When you get bigger of course."
Barry gave a sigh of relief as he took the coat off. "So many battles lay ahead of me. What about you Lucas?"
I hadn't really thought about it. I'm Champion now so I obviously have to battle people who want to take my position.
"I'll see what happens!" I told him. "I may have met the Pokémon that controls time, but I don't know what the future will hold!"
Maybe one day, I will go on one more journey.
Well, there is one more place I want to go…
