AN: To those who wonder, yes it was mama Raikou but bear with me. It's all part of a very crazy story and will make sense, right down to her berserker sense of familial love. Evilus really needed an evener or else they wouldn't even be fun to laugh at. Hope you like the direction it takes. In this chapter, I am introducing sports! It will come into play later and as always, everything Da Vinci does has a dual purpose to it. Just a short chapter this time as next chapter Hestia familia will fire the first salvo's at Evilus who have no choice but to fire back.
ShadoWARmadaN:- I don't know if I want to bring Chloe into it full time but I'm still tossing up whether to allow Illya and Miyu to access their card abilities which will make them more versatile. Whereas in FGO their abilities are already set for game balance. I'm more inclined to keep them as pure summoned servants from FGO cards than Psuedo-servants from Prisma. But I like crazy so I'll see what I can do.
Phantom Thief of Hearts:- I'm slowly getting to the Xenos arcs but I'm going to change it heavily. Hopefully you'll like it as I have plans for an epic scene just to save the Xenos. Ikelos and Dix will get what's coming for them and Fou will start becoming more active soon. Also if I remember correctly, Fels gives Ais the Occulus for the 59th level dungeon dive so it should be the next one so in this fic she doesn't have it yet. He will cop an eyeful when he does give it to her though. Thanks for the feedback on BellX? I'll just play it by ear as it doesn't really affect the story and see what will play out funniest.
Counterfeika:- They are coming. Worry you not and when they come it will be… different. But always chaotic. Asterios, Edison, Gorgon, Babbage, they'll all be there.

Chapter 41 – Hauntings
Twilight Manor had been quiet all week. The Loki expedition should be due back soon but even still, Loki missed her children. It was so quiet and lonely without her top children here. She was just not as close to her lower-ranked children as she should be.
Bored and alone, she was reading through the rules book of 'Orarian Football' given to her by Hestia. This was the terms given to her for seeking Archer's aid. It sounded fair enough, a sporting match to be played out in front of a crowd with all ticket sales and merchandising revenue to go to Hestia familia. It figures it was another money-making scheme.
This, 'Orarian Football' was said to originate in her children's homeland and is a modified version of what is noted in the book as 'American Football'. The rules changed were mainly to account for falna blessed players and combat. No armours, no weapons, no magic other than buffs and a solid durandal ball so it sounded like it was safe right?
She pulled out her application form and read it one last time before she would submit it to Hestia familia to begin advertising. Football club name is Loki Familia Football Club. Check. Football club alias will be the 'Tricksters'. Check. She then looked down her roster requiring a minimum of eleven players and a maximum of seventy. Check. She was happy with who she had chosen. Even though it was touted as a friendly game, Loki generally did not like to lose so she would field her best. This also meant when her children got back she would be forcing them to train and work out tactics for the game themselves.
With her front door open, Loki noticed a blur of a white streak whistling by. Rushing out into the hallway she looked around and there was nobody there. Taking a swig of her wine, she decided she must be tired if she was seeing things and decided to head down to the kitchen to get a bite to eat. Her chefs whipped up a quick sandwich for her. Taking it on a plate, she continued swilling her wine as she walked to her room. A blur of white again had Loki crack open her eyelids just enough to see a white tail disappearing down the hallway. Her sandwich was gone. Screaming, she ran after the creature as fast as she could.
She ducked around a corner and saw a raccoon dog-like thing spring into another set of doors. Chasing after it, she swung the door wide open and was about to barge in when she ground to a sudden halt. She was facing a linen closet. There were no windows here, no other doors and nowhere to hide. She searched left and right and high and low and still there was no sign of any sort of animal. Taking another drink of her wine she scratched her head. Maybe she was tired after all except the evidence for it actually happening lay in her hands on an empty plate.
Sighing she headed for the nearest toilet to empty her quickly filling bladder. As she approached the toilets, she saw a young girl in a black gothic-lolita dress walk out of it reading a book. It was a girl she didn't recognise.
"Yo! Kid! You lost there? Whatcha doin in my manor?" Loki tried to put on her most charming smile.
The white-haired child turned slightly to Loki then let out a small, "…eep!" before running back into the toilets.
Loki sprinted to the toilet and flung the door open as she ran in. "It's ok, I won't hurt you." Loki cooed as she slowly opened each toilet cubicle, one at a time.
What she never saw was a large picture book flapping slowly from the ceiling, quietly exiting the door and leaving the room. Loki was confused when she couldn't find anyone in the toilet, one name crossed her mind however, "Hanako-chan..." she shook her head, "No it couldn't be. Must be the drink."
Later that evening, she walked into her library, hoping to just lay on her couch and rest and maybe hit her secret stash of Soma wine. However, when she got there, the same little girl was sitting on her sofa kicking her feet back and forth while reading a picture book. Calmly, so as not to alert the girl, Loki tiptoed quietly to her and greeted her. She looked harmless enough. "Yo!"
The girl seemed to startle and she looked up, then she ran towards the shelves looking for a place to hide behind. Loki was close but her fingers barely touched wisps of soft hair as the girl was faster than she looked. Giving chase Loki managed to notice that the girl ran into a dead-end section blocked off by bookshelves. She turned the corner thinking to trap her in there. But there was no one there. She never noticed the book shivering nervously on her shelf.
Frustrated, Loki looked high and low for the girl and again, she couldn't find anyone. When she asked her staff most said they had not seen anyone but the occasional maid or servant would stutter and look afraid. That's when she was told that they had also seen this little girl but whenever she was approached or chased she would somehow manage to disappear. There were talks of ghosts haunting Twilight Manor as tales of a white fluffy beast that stole their food and disappeared were also mentioned. Loki laughed at this as she was a god and she knew all the ghosts went to heaven. They couldn't stay down here once they died. Her staff must've been drinking from the wine cellar. She would make sure she did a proper inventory stocktake once time permitted.
Tired, she decided to retire for the night but when she got to her bedroom, she found the little girl humming to herself while sitting on the edge of her bed. Loki tried to be silent as she approached the girl but a creak in the floorboards gave her away. Looking up, the girl seemed to have a look of horror on her face before she ran towards the open window and dived out. Loki reacted instantly. They were on the thirteenth floor. No little girl would survive a fall like that, especially without falna.
When she got to the window she stretched her hand out hoping to at least snag some part of the girl but it was too late. She grasped empty air. Looking down she expected to see a dead body on the ground outside or the girl in a mangled state. Instead, she saw nothing. She never saw the book enter the window on the floor above her as she focused all her attention on the ground below her window.
Loki had had enough. She was getting a headache and needed another drink and some fresh air. She grabbed another barrel out of her room and headed for the attic. It had a large window she could open to enjoy the breeze and she often spent time there alone when she needed time to think. When she climbed the ladder up into the attic, she heard the sounds of soft, childish laughter and a small cat-like sound, "Fou."
Creeping slowly to the sounds, she was treated to the sight of the same young girl playing with the fluffy dog-like creature as it licked and snuggled into her. As she approached, the animal seemed to stop and stare at her position, arching its back much like a cat would when threatened. When the moonlight finally hit the room and lit up the intruders she saw them clearly. The girl in black was kneeling behind the animal, eyes quivering as she hugged tightly onto her book. The animal itself, however, seemed to have an aura that grew larger and larger and darker and darker. Until Loki was staring at a giant shadow beast with flaming red eyes boring into her. She could feel the power erupting from the beast and thought to herself, "This thing has the power to destroy the world!"
Loki took a nervous step back, as the beast growled at her, "Fooooouuuu!"
Then with a popping sound both the girl and the beast simply vanished.
Loki screamed, turned and ran. She didn't stop when her servants asked her what was wrong. She didn't stop when the people in the street would stare at her. She didn't stop until she reached Hephaestus's office in Babel tower and flung open the door. "PPPHHHHAAAEEEE! WAAAAHHHH!" she cried.
Hephaestus was a dirty drunken mess. Her hair was oily, her face was soaked in alcohol and her bleary red eyes spoke of days without sleep. She managed to turn her head to Loki as she grabbed her own in her hand as if rubbing away a headache. "Looookkkiii….. Whada you want…." She slurred drunkenly.
Loki took all this in, in one glance but she had bigger problems. "My manor's haunted by the ghost of a little girl and there's a demon beast as powerful as the black, one-eyed dragon living in my attic! I'm too scared to sleep at home, can I stay with you tonight!?"
Hephaestus couldn't process what Loki was saying but one thing was clear to her, "That's some… mighty fine driiiink… ya knockin back… I'll let ya stay… if you gimme some."
So Loki spent the night at Hephaestus's workshop not knowing that her beloved children would return earlier than planned from the dungeon that night.
