Chapter 35

Louisa's point of view

I pulled Will's car over onto the area where it was normally kept. I pulled the car-keys out and unfastened the seat belt. I was surprised when I glanced at my watch. It was just 12:30pm. We had reached home a lot earlier than I expected.

Will and I got out of the car in unison. Not wasting any time, I walked up to him and gave him his car-keys.

"Hopefully, I will see you on next Saturday, " he said; taking the car keys from me.

"Don't worry."

"I will text you the time of the surprise event, " he added; his eyes blinking so fast that I almost thought he winked at me.

"You will go back to London tomorrow?" I inquired; raising my eyebrows at him.

"Yes," he responded; arriving at the doorway of his house.

"I will go back to London tomorrow a 12:30pm," he said; ringing the door-bell

"Don't worry, " I assured him; standing a considerable distance away from the entrance of his house.

"You will find your house in top-class form."

"I should go, " I said; waving my right hand at him.

"Okay, " he half-smiled when Kate opened the door.

When I turned my back on him, I felt heavy shackles wrapped around my heart. I increased the pace of walking so that thoughts of how my life had been when I was with Patrick did not invade my head. I kicked some rocks on the way out of sheer frustration solely due to the fact that the day that I thought Will would enjoy turned out to be an utter disappointment for him. He could have sacked me for such stupidity. He was so generous as a boss that he did not pass any sarcastic comments or biting replies. In a way, I was immensely lucky to be working for him.
