The entire pack knew the moment Jared phased the first time after the imprint happened. To my surprise, none of them actually were surprised. They'd been waiting for it to happen, apparently. Even Jacob reluctantly congratulated us again as he mentioned that 'you can't fight fate'.
I prayed that we would finally have peace and quiet for once.
I should've known better.
Two weeks later, a new vampire came through Forks.
They were gone before the pack even caught the trail. It wasn't a scent that any of them recognized and we all hoped it was just a nomad passing through, even though the Cullens had promised to spread the word that the Olympic peninsula was off limits.
They didn't catch the scent again for the next week, when they finally got a whiff of it on the outskirts of our territory, which now covered Forks as well because of the Cullen's departure.
The reoccurrence frightened me, and I worried who it could possibly be.
It wasn't any of the Cullens, and definitely not Edward, but the guys still hadn't seen whoever it was and that was worrisome.
Two weeks after the second reoccurrence, the scent was back, and this time it triggered something else.
Seth Clearwater had phased.
It had now been five weeks since the Cullens had come and left with Edward. We'd only had two weeks of peace before another threat had made itself known.
I was now almost 26 weeks pregnant and beyond terrified that I couldn't predict what the new threat could be, since it hadn't happened in the other timeline. We'd dealt with Laurent, Victoria, and the Cullens (though I was still afraid Edward would come back).
It was around midnight when we'd been woken by the howl of a brand-new wolf. Sam and Jared both shot up out of the bed immediately. As alpha and beta, it was always their duty to help a new wolf.
I'd known Seth would phase, though before it had been Harry Clearwater's death that had triggered both Leah and Seth's transformation.
In this timeline, Harry Clearwater was still alive and well, weeks after when he'd died in the other timeline. Leah was still happily at UCLA, which Sue kept me updated on every week when I worked Monday and Wednesday.
I had worried that if Harry died again, Leah would come back to attend his funeral and the gene would be activated, but now I truly didn't know. I was officially flying blind, and that thought frightened me even more.
An hour later, Sam, Jared, and Paul walked in with a jittery-looking Seth. I had woken up and gotten dressed, though I mainly wore Sam's hoodie and Jared's sweatpants now because of my large and continually growing belly. I'd sat in the living room and had waited for them to come home.
"Honey, can you get him some of those leftover sandwiches in the fridge? The first transition took a lot out of him." Sam asked me as they came in. I went to the kitchen and grabbed them, setting them on the table in front of Seth.
"Uh, thanks, Bella." Seth said kindly as he began to wolf them down. "So, we're all wolves?"
"Giant wolves, pup." Paul told him as he grabbed an apple for himself.
"Are you a wolf too?" Seth asked me innocently, looking at my pregnant belly. I giggled.
"No, Seth. I'm not a wolf, I'm an imprint." I told him with a smile, though I wondered how this conversation would go.
"I think I heard that word in my head?" He questioned, not for sure about what he'd seen.
"That's called the pack mind, Seth. We share a mind while we're phased. Since we can't speak as wolves, it's how we communicate with each other, though you can't exactly filter what others can see or hear. If you think it, we all know it." Sam explained to him and his cheeks turned red.
"You're the youngest one, pup. Better get used to some crazy thoughts. Especially from these two." Paul told him, pointing at Sam and Jared while laughing.
"Only crazy while you're phased in, Paul. We keep it PG-13 for everyone else." Jared said with a smirk and I shook my head. Seth just looked confused.
"The reason Paul mentioned it is because Jared and I both imprinted on Bella." Sam explained to him, making him raise his eyebrows as he scanned between the three of us.
"What does that mean, exactly?" Seth asked questioningly.
"It means that these two are head over heels for our alpha miss over there, and they'd both do anything in the world for her." Paul told Seth as he went over and clapped him on the shoulder.
"So they're both with her?" he was so innocent it was adorable.
"Yes, Seth. Both of us are in romantic relationships with Bella. She's engaged to me and carrying my children, though all three of us will act as the babies' parents. I was imprinted to Bella first and Jared imprinted on her later. Jared and I are only in relationships with Bella, not each other. I will show you what imprinting is in the pack mind when we phase again." Sam explained to him.
"How can two of you imprint on the same girl? Just curious." Seth's curiosity was so innocent.
"We're not entirely sure how it works, but I can promise it's not the strangest thing you'll come to know about everything you've just been thrust into. We'll show you everything, but I know tonight was a bit much for you." Sam told him as he finished his sandwiches.
"Both of your parents know about the pack, Seth. You'll have to be extraordinarily careful not to get too angry for a while, especially while you're near anyone or inside, because you could accidentally phase and hurt someone. You're welcome here at any time, day or night. Jared, Paul, and Embry live here with me and Sam. The door is always open. We have bonfires on Friday nights and movie nights all the time. I love cooking, so there's usually always a meal ready. You'll need to stay out of school for a week to get used to things. Just a warning, you'll shred a lot of clothes." I told him before yawning.
"Seth go ahead and take the guest room tonight and we'll talk to Sue and Harry tomorrow. Bella, honey, go ahead and lay back down. J will be in there in a little bit. I need to go back out and track the scent. I think it was headed in the direction of Seattle, but since it's supposed to rain tomorrow, I need to go out now." Sam told me as he leaned over and kissed the side of my head.
"Be careful. I love you." I told him and he returned the sentiment before turning to head out the door. "Welcome to the pack Seth."
I went back to the bed and curled into my spot in the middle of it. Jared came in a few minutes later and pressed a soft kiss to his mark on my neck and wrapped his arms around my middle before we both fell back asleep.
The next day the guys explained everything to Seth, who took it all in stride. He seemed to be the most easily adaptable of the whole pack, mainly because he was so chill with everything and had a massive people pleasing complex, almost like I did.
Sam and Jared spoke with Harry and Sue about Seth and they both agreed that it would have happened eventually anyways. The damage had already been done by the Cullens living there too long.
It was closing in on the last day of May and I was 27 weeks pregnant when I learned that Rachel Black was in town because she'd just graduated from college and wanted to visit Billy.
My heart nearly stopped.
I didn't know why I was so anxious about her being here, but I was worried about it.
A/N- A few time skips there... I know some of you wanted to see more of the pack's reaction to Jared's imprint, but at this point, nothing much is going to surprise them. Seth finally phased! (I love Seth- if you couldn't tell from my other stories, lol) Who do you think this new threat is? What'll happen with Rachel Black?
