Cat's eye

Chapter 35th

It was the next day that Gina Cowles knew she was being watched for some reason walking into Black Pawn publishing. She felt at odds that she was carrying in her hands Richard Castle's manuscript of "Cat's eye".

Taking the elevator to the sixth floor with no one inside with her even though she had felt insecure. She knew what was going on with her protection. She was told to walk into her office with the manuscript that was actually a fraud. While the real manuscript was mailed to the 12th precinct in order to protect it.

Finally moving out of the elevator it was supposed to be happening soon. When a lone gunman holding a revolver in his hand covered in black gloves. "Give me the manuscript now?" The man will say to her with Gina not fighting him as per orders.

She gives him the envelope with the manuscript into his hands without an incident. She is told to go back to office and stay there. However all of a sudden four police officers came out from the corner to corner the suspect in black.

"Hold it right there." Sergeant William Anderson and Lt. Alverez are moving over to the suspect in black with removing his facial mask to expose his face. "OMG! I don't believe it. It's Jamey Cain of the Attorney General's office." Sergeant Anderson will announced.

"Why Mr. Cain to get involved in all this mystery?" Lt. Alverez had to asked with the shaking of his head not understanding the entire situation.

"For the god damn money! That's why I have been involved and with being tired getting shit ass assignments with a female partner that is nothing but a sex pot needing to get into every bodies pants." He had made mention with watching Gina move off with not needing to hear the rest with going into her office feeling dirty.

"And including yourself Mr. Cain." Sergeant Anderson will have to say on the subject. Lt. Averez gave the order for the two officers to take Mr. Cain out into the squad car to head for the 12th precinct for further interrogation with Captain Kate Beckett no doubt will be taking over.

But in the meantime Sergeant Anderson and his partner headed for the office of Gina Cowles to find out on whether she is alright or not. They had seen the curious look on her face when she had walked away.

Gina was drinking coffee with her hands shaking when the two walked in to see her. "Are you fine Gina?" Sergeant Anderson will asked with the concern question.

"I will be Sergeant. I just was sick to my stomach after what that man had said about his partner and the sex. Is she that bad Sergeant?" Gina had to make mention with the question.

"I wouldn't know Miss Cowles. I have only met her one time while the rest of the time was at a distance. I understand she had been talking with the undercover F.B.I. agent having gotten into the drug and weapons ring. The both of them have been caught in the middle. I don't know anything else other than the fact that the raid with arresting everyone happens tonight with the real owners to be on the site."

"Good luck with closing the case Sergeant Anderson. By the way how is Alexis been doing?" She was curious with the young woman that has turned out to be just beautiful.

"She's great Gina. She did work a few nights with the operation at the club. However she 's good as with our daughter."

"I am glad about that at least. Now if you will excuse me I will need to get back to work with too much to read and sign with all of the new authors manuscripts."

Meanwhile Kate Beckett had arrived to the 12th precinct after being called that they had the suspect and will be in the interrogation room. Both Beckett and Castle arrived after a brief interlude in the bedroom dresses quickly to see what was on Mr. Cain's mind.

Walking out of the elevator. They were greeted by Lt. Alverez already overdue to go home as with Anderson. Beckett gave the order to get their reliefs in place. While she and Castle headed for the number one interrogation room. Richard Castle was told to stay behind the glass mirror while she went inside with Javier Esposito tired from last night.

Jamey Cain was sitting with a cup of water and a pitcher on the side with his ankles locked up as with his wrists in front of him.

When Captain Kate Beckett walked in with the file in her hand and placed it onto the table. "Ok, let's get started. Tell me Jamey Cain as to why you took the money in the first place with the operation?"

"Why? Because I was drowning in debt in spite the fact I was making a decent salary for the Attorney General's office. However the past three years I was getting deeper and deeper at the Casino in Albany, New York and this man Ari Eli came to me on whether or not I can work for him with snitching. Especially for when it comes to my partner Catherine Bells."

"When was the last time you spoke with this Ari Eli?" Beckett looked back for a moment wondering with her mind and what Castle was thinking.

"Last night. He's going to be at the site tonight with the largest shipment arriving from the trucks filled with all types of weapons and drugs." Jamey will say with his brow filled with sweat being nervous. "Can I have some water please with taking off these cuffs?"

Kate motion to the officer to take the cuffs off until he was done drinking. She waited for a few moments until he was ready again.

"Tell me something why get Richard Castle involved in all this?" She needed to know for when it comes to her husband.

"Ari had found out about his involvement with the C.I.A. years ago and the code book. He was brainwashed to place the codebook into his new novel Cat's eye laced with all kinds of drugs. He's been keeping it hidden in his brain all this time."

"And did he get it Mr. Cain?" She asked calmly...

"Of course not! I was arrested with the manuscript in the envelope Captain. I was told to retrieve it. However if he suspects something he will no doubt not show up at the site tonight."

"And if you do Mr. Cain we can offer you a deal that will save your life with calling him saying that you have the manuscript though it's going to be fake?"

"You mean with the Witness protection Program?" He replied feeling slightly better...

"Yeah. I will have someone call them to have agents pick you up after your chore is done for us with calling him now and with setting up the meeting to deliver the manuscript. Is it a deal Jamey?"

He had to think about for a moment before giving his answer.
