A/N: For the purpose of this story, we're going to pretend that everything is normal and the virus does not exist. (Let me have my fantasy).
"Happy Anniversary," Kensi greeted Deeks, drawing him out of a half-asleep state. He cracked one eye open and found her hovering above him, the soft light of the room creating a halo affect around her head. She leaned down and kissed him lingeringly.
When she sat back up, he noticed she was dressed in a dark blue, lacy negligee she hadn't been wearing when they went to sleep last night.
"Mm, happy anniversary," he replied, crossing his arms behind his head. His eyes dropped to the slightly plunging neckline which was outlined with lace and revealed tantalizing hints of skin.
Kensi looped an arm around his neck, brushing hair from his eyes as she smiled down at him.
"Last year at this time, we were getting ready for our wedding," she reminisced.
"It's hard to believe that it's already been a year. That was a crazy day."
"Mm-hmm, Russians nearly taking over, Kirkin showing up to rescue-
"Oh please don't bring him up," Deeks interrupted and Kensi snickered before continuing,
"And then at the very end, I got to marry you."
"Yeah, and you were covered in bruises."
"It was a still perfect day," Kensi said and he nodded.
"It was." He pulled her back down for another kiss, smoothing his hands up her sides. God, what he wouldn't give for just a few hours for just the two of them. Pulling back with a groan he said,
"I can't believe I'm saying this, but we should probably start getting ready for work." Kensi grinned at him, her expression mischievous.
"Actually we don't have to. I talked with Hetty last month and she agreed to give us the day off."
"Seriously?"
"Mm-hmm. She brought in Dechamps and Hamilton for the day and they have strict orders not to interrupt us. So we have the whole day to do whatever we want," she explained, clearly pleased with Deeks' stunned expression.
"Wow, you're like the best wife ever. Now my present's gonna look pretty lame in comparison," he said and Kensi rolled her eyes. "Seriously though, this is the best present ever."
"I love you, Marty Deeks," she said simply, kissing him again.
"I love you too," he murmured before he slid his hands back down to her waist.
Sadly, the negligee did not make it to a second anniversary.
A/N: I started writing something about Kensi's long hair…and then I realized I can't anymore for current stuff.
