I sat in the Room of Requirement waiting for my next 'patient' to come through the doors. A sound of the big door opening made me turn my head toward the door and up from my clipboard.
The familiar face waved to me with a smile on his face.
Blaise Zabini.
"So tell me Blaise, why are you here?" I asked curiously.
"What, I can't spend time with my new friend" he faked offense.
I rolled my eyes, "you haven't gone to a session in a month, what's new?"
"Well you know how I told you my mom is very how do you say, traditional" Blaise started. Slowly I nodded my head unsure of where this conversation was going. "Well, I'm not sure how to really say this" he scraped the back of his head.
"You can tell me Blaise, I'm here as a therapist, but also as a friend" I encouraged him. He gave me a soft smile as he had some type of inner battle inside his head.
"I like guys" he blurted out and then covered his mouth back again. My smile brightened as I got the confirmation, now just to get Neville and Blaise together.
"Yes, so what's the problem exactly?"
"It's my mom, she's a bit hung up on those pure blood ideologies and well she's homophobic" he finally said. "I'm not sure if I should come out to her or not because I'm afraid of what she's going to say. Never mind this is stupid I never should have said anything."
"No Blaise stop" I said as he began to sit up from his seat to walk to the entrance. "I think that you should do what you think is best because if I tell you what I think you should do, you'll follow through with what I will tell you to do and it should be your decision."
Blaise nodded his head slowly, but even more curious about what my opinion of the situation was. "You never know what she'll say unless you go for it" I smiled softly. "Just don't assume the worst Blaise. People change over time, maybe your mom has."
"This is why your in Ravenclaw" he said cheekily. "Come here" he pulled me into his arms hugging me tightly.
I giggled softly, "so do you have an eye on any lucky men out there."
"Maybe" he said scratching his head, turning a shade of crimson red. "I'm not sure yet."
"That's fine too, you should focus on what your going to do first anyways." My clipboard was halfway filled with notes, mostly random heart drawings with NB inside them. It was going to happen, I was going to make sure of it.
"Does anyone else know or am I the first one to know?" I asked.
"Draco knows" he answered. "I told him yesterday."
"And what did he say?"
"Oh he said that was cool and I quote 'a lot of people like it in the ass and I'm not special'" Blaise nodded his head. "Something like that" Blaise chuckled a little bit. "Oh that reminds me" he shot his head up to look at me. "There's a quidditch game tomorrow, Slytherin against Gryffindor. Are you going?"
"Yes, to support Ginny."
"Great" his smile broadened as he beamed at me with his pearly white. "See you there and tell Weaslette that we're gonna crush them."
"I'll hold you to that" I yelled as he walked away to the door.
To tell you the truth, I wasn't going to go to the game. It just was not my thing. Quidditch was my brothers life long obsession, he was basically married to quidditch. It was scary that he loved quidditch more than me sometimes.
I didn't really go to quidditch games, but I felt something weird. Like something in the back of my conscious that was telling me to go to the game. I don't know what it was but I would listen.
I was quite atrocious on a broom, a wooden broom to be precise.
Oli used to joke about how I was even related to him in the first place. I never really went to games, I only went to the games that my friends played in or he played in when on the Gryffindor team. I never really went to support Ravenclaw because they weren't very good anyways.
It was always Gryffindor winning the House Cup once Harry Potter joined the team, otherwise only Slytherin won. Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff were often irrelevant in the little squabbles that Gryffindor had with Slytherin.
The day blew by fast and it was time for the match. Slytherin vs Gryffindor.
"You got this Ginny" I yelled as she walked onto the pitch where everyone could see them.
The Slytherin team was announced as they sauntered onto the pitch with smug looks on their faces. The mop of blond hair turned to the stands, scanning for a certain someone.
He saw her face in the stands. She was wearing a Gryffindor scarf in support of their team and she had an endless smile. She was sitting with Neville, Luna, and Athena in the Ravenclaw section since the number or Ravenclaws had outnumbered the number of Gryffindors in a 3 to 1.
Malfoy was to busy staring at her flushed cheeks from the cold and her bright smile that lit up a room to shake Ginny's hand to start the match. It wasn't until Ginny had gripped his hand with the intent to rip it off that he stopped staring and grabbed her hand with equal force and passion.
The teams received loud cheers from all of the stands as the ascended into the sky in an agile formation. The snitch was released into the air and the quaffle had been thrown up.
Ginny zoomed taking hold of the quaffle as she sped toward the goal. Goyle pelted a bludger to the back of Ginny's head as she held the quaffle tightly. As if she could hear the bludger speeding toward her she deftly moved out of the way so that Jimmy Peakes could send a bludger to an unsuspecting Brian Urquhart.
"Weasley zooms past Zabini, passes to Spinnet and GOAL!!" the commentator yelled. How I adored McGonagall who had hired Lee Jordan as the full time commentator after he had graduated from Hogwarts. "SUCK IT SLYTHERINS!!"
"Jordan" McGonagall yelled.
"Go Ginny" I yelled thrusting my fists up in the air. Loud cheers were heard from all stands except for Slytherin which was expected.
"Oh! Coote sends bludger towards Nott, but he moves out of the way- DAMN IT!!"
"Jorda-"
"All right Professor, Nott gets possession of the quaffle and passes it to Zabini. He takes the shot and he- FUCK!!"
"JORDAN!!"
"The score is 10 to 10" Lee announced.
He was the best commentator hands down. Come on, even McGonagall knew that this was going to happen and she still hired him. That's how you know she has a sense of humor.
"Weasley has the quaffle now and is speeding toward the goal posts. Nott comes behind her and- HEYY!!" Lee yelled. "YOU FOUL CHEATING GIT! HOW DARE YO-"
"Jordan" McGonagall's voice was getting impatient.
I mean, Slytherin was known to play dirty.
"Weasley scores a goal. The score is now 20 to 10" Lee said. "TAKE THAT YOU BLOODY-"
"JORDAN."
"Okay okay jeez" Lee said putting his hands up. "Wow Weasley is on fire today, she scores two more goals for the Gryffindor team."
"GO GINNY" we all yelled at the same time as she sent us a smile.
Malfoy was sitting on top of his broom, scouting for the snitch. The wind was blowing through his hair and his hands were turning the slightest shade of pink from the cold. The scowl was present on his face as Ginny scored two more.
"Come on" he yelled at his chasers who were having difficulty stopping Ginny from scoring more goals. "Bletchley you are useless." The Slytherin keeper Miles Bletchley had managed to save two goals that the Gryffindor's had thrown. Two out of ten goals.
"The score is 80 to 10. The Slytherins gotta pull one out of their asses if they're-"
"JORDAN!"
"Zabini takes hold of the quaffle with Nott by his side. He dives for the shot- MCLAGGEN" Lee yelled in the mic. Goyle had shot a bludger right at McLaggen when Blaise had dove in for the shot. It wasn't cheating, it was merely strategy.
"The score is now 80 to- Malfoy has just spotted the snitch" Lee said as Malfoy started to zoom around the pitch, following the little mischievous golden snitch.
The Gryffindor seeker was trailing right behind Malfoy. Everyone was watching those two battle it out as they pushed and shoved each other to get the snitch. They were neck and neck, both of their arms reaching out to grab the snitch.
They both toppled of their brooms at the same time, hitting the ground with a thud as their brooms clattered to their side. Everyone was on the edge of their seats as they tried to see who had caught the snitch.
Draco Malfoy got up from the ground as he showed the snitch that was in his hand.
"Draco Malfoy catches the snitch earning 150 points. SLYTHERIN WINS!!" Lee announced with downright depression. "GOD DAMN IT-" Lee had started to throw random stuff. "YOU ALL ARE SO FUC-"
"JORDAN!!"
The Slytherin area had erupted into a mass of cheers. Some of the other houses started cheering as well, including myself. I clapped with Luna, Athena, and Neville who had wanted Ginny to win, but weren't opposed to the idea of Slytherin winning.
The win could have been predicted since the newest Gryffindor Seeker was no where near as good as Harry Potter or Draco Malfoy. He was a sixth year who was accepted because he was the only person who met even half of the standards to become the seeker.
Malfoy scanned the Ravenclaw section as he saw her beautiful face.
Her hands were clapping.
Clapping for him.
I watched as many of the girls sitting in the Slytherin section were holding up their signs that read something along the lines of 'GO DRACO' or 'MARRY ME DRACO MALFOY.'
All the girls were squealing different things at the top of their lungs.
"YOUR SO AMAZING"
"MERLIN HE'S HOT"
"HE'S SO GOOD AT QUIDDITCH"
"AHH I KNEW HE WAS GOING TO CATCH THE SNITCH"
Might as well be screaming "fuck me Malfoy."
Although he wasn't paying attention to any of the girls in the stands. He was only looking at her. Adeleine Wood who was cheering in the stands for him.
His teammates flew around him, surrounding him in a circle as they clapped for him. The cheers were coming to an end, but the glory high was not.
All the boys had tossed their gear aside with no care. The only reason people wanted to win a quidditch game was to have a party at the end. Also for bragging rights. And the boys were ready to party.
He wondered if she was going to be there.
He would have to see to find out.
