"I can't find any trace of the shinobi who came with the villain."
Hinata grimaced and rubbed her jaw as Eisuke offered her a little scowl. They had been scanning the building for a good one hour and not once did she catch sight of the shinobi who activated that disguise seal. If he has a seal that deactivates his chakra then finding him will be impossible for me. It would have been better if Kiba was with her but her teammate was with the other class.
Eisuke grimaced and rubbed his jaw as his eyes flickered from the surrounding corridor. His eyes hardened and his nostrils flared from either irritation or anger but if that clenched fist told her anything then it had to be anger. The red-haired man took in several deep breaths before focusing his hardened eyes on her.
"We need to find out the culprit who helped Touya get in here," Eisuke growled. Hinata blinked and then stopped in her steps as the male glared at the corridor. Hinata pressed her lips into a thin line and rubbed the back of her neck. Maybe it was insane of her but there was something about that gleam in his eyes that reminded her of Naruto.
If I abandoned Sasuke because of this then it means I've to abandon you when you do something like this! The both of you are like my family! Hinata took a deep breath and steadied her arms. That was a few weeks ago, but her best friend might change her mind about rescuing that ungrateful idiot. Maybe a few more years would make that friend less stable.
"Touya-san is like your brother, isn't he?" Hinata kept her expression blank when Eisuke swirled his head at her. His green eyes widened and his lips parted slightly as the Hyuga heiress locked her gaze on the man. That expression tells me everything. This man was definitely related to Naruto because he made the exact same expression as her best friend.
She took a deep breath and looked down at her hands. It had to be a difficult time for both Eisuke and Tomoyo because their best friend was going to be formally declared as a villain. He is probably angry with the shinobi that got his friend into this. If the male was anything like Naruto then he was going to look for someone to blame.
"How did you figure that out?" Eisuke finally asked. His tone was quiet but nothing about his tone indicated that the male was going to deny the fact that he was close to the villain. Then again why would he deny it? That stubbornness had to be an Uzumaki thing because Naruto wouldn't deny her feelings for Sasuke even though he tried to kill her.
Because you have that same insane glint in your eyes that Naruto-chan has, whenever she thinks of Sasuke. She bit her tongue and schooled her expression into a blank expression. Those words would probably serve to irritate the older male but maybe it had to be said to him. She took another deep breath and bobbed her head.
"You have that same wild glint in your eyes that Naruto-chan has whenever she talks about saving Sasuke," Hinata replied. Eisuke stumbled and scowled at her. She thinned her lips and pushed her hands into her pocket as she continued to examine the male in front of her. The grip on his katana told her that he didn't like the comparison.
Do you truly think you are any different from Naruto or that friend of yours is any different from Sasuke? She exhaled and shoved her hands into her pocket. The moment that man came into this stadium, his fate had been sealed. Did he believe like Naruto that if he begged and pleaded that his friend wouldn't face the same circumstances? People got hurt.
People needed to face the consequence of their actions.
"Don't ever compare Touya to that boy," Eisuke hissed, balling his hands into a fist. His green eyes stilted and burned with a fuming rage that could almost set everything in its path on fire. "Unlike Uchiha Sasuke, I can be fucking certain that Touya wouldn't try and kill Tomoyo because he is still in love with her after 10 years!"
Love. Hinata curled her lips into a thin line and darted her eyes to the corridor leading up to the arena. To love someone would mean not killing them but Sasuke always had a twisted sense of love. When Naruto needed his help, he refused to do anything because he believed Naruto could take care of herself. When her friend shared her first kiss with him, he didn't even scold Sakura for punching Naruto.
He believed Naruto when she said that she didn't need anyone to protect her but her best friend needed to be protected even if she was being a stubborn idiot.
"I never believed for one minute that Sasuke would try and kill Naruto," Hinata commented. The warning leaked out of her tone as Eisuke stiffened at the reminder. "That boy has been in love with Naruto from the moment she came up to him and do you know why? It's because she never discriminated him for being an Uchiha and because she was the only one who truly got to know him. You know what happened, don't you?"
The young man dropped his shoulders and stiffly nodded before offering her a little scowl. Naruto-chan wouldn't even be in Japan if it wasn't for Sasuke and Sakura. If she had just been a little bit more observant and just a little bit less trusting then she could have stopped this. Her best friend wouldn't have to go through this much if she just called out for their nonsense.
"I don't know Sasuke's circumstances and frankly I don't give a shit because nothing could make up for what Naruto has to go through," Eisuke said. Hinata blinked and the male offered her a rueful smile. "Most of the time I don't pity criminals, abusers or even villains but Touya is different because he's my family. I know what he went through and I know whose fault it is that he became like this."
Hinata steeled her eyes. "He is still a criminal."
"I know," Eisuke commented. His tone was soft and quiet as his green eyes rested on her. "I love Touya and I'm pretty certain that despite knowing what he did that Tomo-chan still loves the hell out of that idiot. I know underneath all that bitterness and anger inside of him, there is still that little boy who craves for unconditional love. How the fuck can I not feel anything when I know what led him to do this?"
Hinata took a step backwards and felt her heart completely stopped as tears streamed down his face. What do I do? Naruto loved it when people hugged her but she doubt that the male would be comfortable with her hugging him. Something else had to be done in order to comfort the older male because this was a difficult time for him.
"Eisuke-san, this isn't your fault."
The man shook his head and rubbed his eyes before straightening his back. Those green eyes grew blank and he tightened his grip on the katana as his eyes rested on her. For a brief moment, she saw herself being stabbed by that katana until her whole body bled to death. Was he really angry with her for pointing this out? Or was he upset with someone else?
He was probably furious with the circumstances that lead to this situation.
"This is my whole family's fault because we were too afraid of what he would do to our family if we spilled things," Eisuke finally stated. He clenched his jaws together and picked himself back up before glaring at the corridor. "If we had been just a little bit more brave then my best friend wouldn't go to jail or be executed if heroes weren't given a different standard."
Hinata frowned and then blinked when those green eyes flared up with determination. A sense of worry crept up in her stomach because that glint in his eyes reminded her of Naruto and how she stood up against her father. What was he planning to do? And why did she have a feeling that things were now going to become more complicated? Maybe it was because the man was an Uzumaki.
It seemed like every Uzumaki had something inside of them that made them insane.
"Eisuke-san, what are you planning to do?"
"Nothing that you have to worry about," Eisuke commented quietly. Hinata frowned and the male fixed his green eyes on her. "Right now, you go and search for any clues on where that shinobi is while I make a phone call. If that good-for-nothing bastard was truly a hero then he knows what decision he has to make."
(A few days later, Hinata would come to learn from Naruto that Eisuke had been the reason for that news coverage).
"Seriously! Now we're getting explosions too!"
Naruto grimaced and closed her eyes, as the walls standing just a couple of meters away from them crumbled into tiny slabs of concrete. This was definitely bad because the civilians were only a few centimeters away from them. Are they actually going to hurt people on purpose now? She thinned her lips and shook her head as Bakugou narrowed his eyes at the cloud of smoke.
Her cousin dropped the fake, charming smile and flickered his eyes from the cloud of thick smoke to her and the others. His red eyes gleamed with thoughtfulness and knowing Bakugou, he probably was trying to figure out the whole point of the explosion. His lips twitched into a scowl and the male dropped his shoulders.
"If it was just rescue operations then the whole thing would be fucking easy," Bakugou grumbled. She blinked and tilted her head as Kirishima and Kaminari exchanged glances. The blond-haired teen eyed her. "When you did those Chunin Exams, was it that easy for you people to pass? Or did they cut you down until only the cream of the top could pass?"
You think that too many people are going to pass if they just kept it to rescuing people. Naruto hummed and eyed her scowling cousin before looking back at the two curious eyes of her cousin's friends. Bakugou wouldn't even think like this if she hadn't tried to manipulate him into being nice to strangers. She sighed and relaxed her shoulders.
"Only Shikamaru became a chunin but to be fair we got invaded by Gaara and his village alongside Orochimaru," Naruto answered dryly. Kirishima and Kaminari exchanged glances before slacking their jaws at her. Bakugou only flashed them a triumphant smirk. She shook her head and exhaled as their two friends only rolled their eyes at him.
She shook her head and flickered her eyes to Izuku. The older boy fixed his eyes on the fading smoke and his jaw dropped like one of those spring toys that her distant relative played. Something about that explosion must have made her friend look like a shocked little puppy because that expression hadn't been around since the beginning of the school year.
"G-Gang Orca," Izuku finally said. Kirishima and Kaminari stumbled and jerked their heads back at the smoke, where the faint figure of a large whale-like man illuminated behind the shadow. Gang Orca? The name sounded familiar but where did she hear the name? She glanced at Bakugou and the male only pressed his lips into a thin line.
She shook her head and frowned as the smoke faded even more to reveal a tall, muscular man with a killer whale-like features. What could be his Quirk? It might have to do with his appearance but not all people with animal features, had Quirks related to their physical appearance. For all she knew, he could have a Quirk that was not related to his appearance.
"Hero Cadets!" The intercom boomed and Naruto stiffened as the crowds of students looked away from the injured civilian. "If you are on location with the villain then you must suppress the villains and continue on with the rescue operation."
Naruto eyed Gang Orca and pressed her lips into a very thin line. They had to suppress the villains and make sure that the rescue operation was still running smoothly. If I did things in the past then I would immediately charge in because of the time restraint. She grimaced and eyed the nervous teens around them.
"Midoriya!" Izuku blinked and jerked his head at her as everyone fixed their eyes on her. Naruto straightened her back and eyed the grim-faced boy, who stared at the hero with wide eyes. "What do you know about Gang Orca? What the hell is his rank? And what can he do with his Quirk? I need to know everything that your hero-otaku head knows about this guy."
Kirishima gawked at her. "We don't have time to—"
"If you charge in there without a plan then we're in trouble," Naruto barked. Her friend blinked and dropped his shoulders while the other students rested their weary eyes on her. She licked her chapped lips and fixed her eyes on the students, who had injured civilians on their backs. "Anyone that still has injured civilians should move them to a further location! Anyone that has a Quirk that allows them to slow down this guy come here."
Bakugou just tightened his jaws before grunting at her and making his way towards the evacuating heroes. I'm surprised that you don't want to continue with fighting this guy. She eyed her cousin and then furiously shook her head. If her half-cousin wanted to help them evacuate then that was fine with her. As long as he helped then they were fine.
"Gang Orca has a Quirk that gives him attribute and abilities of a Killer Whale," Izuku replied. He flickered his eyes to Gang Orca, who regarded them with narrowed, curious eyes. Out of everyone here, he would probably be the most weary of me and Kokoro. She didn't know what her distant relative's Quirk was but they could work something with it if the girl decided to come here to help. "He can produce hypersonic waves to paralyze his opponents."
She rubbed her jaws and stared at Gang Orca. So he can paralyze us. That was an important piece of information because they had to be careful when they got close to him. Killer Whales were also known to be quiet strong which meant they needed fighter that could handle fighting the hero. They had to make sure that the person distracting him didn't get distracted.
Naruto blinked when Shindou dashed towards the hero-turned-villain. She thinned her lips and wrapped her hand around his wrist before pulling him back. Izuku and the others gawked at her while the male twisted his head at her with disbelief. What? You think you're fast? You're slower than the people I'm used to dealing with. She narrowed her eyes at the male.
"What the hell are you doing?" He barked. "You want us to hold him off, don't you? I can buy time with my Quirk."
The blonde pinched her nose and tightened her grip around his wrist. The idea was good but he was definitely underestimating his opponent. If Bakugou is right then we need to take the whole thing seriously. There was no way that Gang Orca was going to let him come near him if decided to charge after him without any plans.
"We haven't even thought of a plan," Naruto reminded him. Shindou grunted while the other students gazed at her with curious eyes. She licked her lips again and steadied her arms as black eyes continued to regard her with blank eyes. "If I let you go after him then Gang Orca is going to use either those hypersonic waves at you or punch you so hard that you can't walk."
Shindo snorted. "Do you really think a hero is going to take us that seriously? He isn't actually a villain."
The blonde pressed her lips into a thin line and curled her hands into a fist when one of the students stretched their arms so long that it reached the other side. The fist hurled forwards and smashed against one of the villain's face. Well that's a useful Quirk. She shook her head and thinned her lips.
"That hero right there isn't a hero but a villain," she pointed to the smirking hero before swirling her head at the other students. She hardened her eyes and dropped the older boy onto the ground. "If you consider Gang Orca an actor then he is going to kick your ass so badly that it won't even be funny. You must never ever underestimate your opponent or else you are going to get yourself killed."
The students grew quiet and sweated as their eyes flickered from her to the smirking hero. Had it been too much to say those words to them? They were still students and most of them had never been in a dangerous situation like this. If they were Academy students then this exam is way too much for them because of their lack of experience. She took a deep breath as Shindou pushed himself up.
"You better have a plan Uzumaki because we only have a limited amount of time before Gang Orca decides to attack us."
The other students bobbed their heads and Naruto flickered her eyes at the surrounding students. I don't know the relationships between each of the students so I better hope that they can put aside their differences. Cries pierced through the air alongside laughter and the blonde gestured for the students to hurdle around her.
"If we're going to do this then I need to know everyone's Quirk!"
Hopefully, her plan would be good enough to hold off the hero while the others continue to evacuate the others.
"Uzushiokage, why are you calling me when you should be working! You better have a good reason to call me during my lunch."
Enji placed his smartphone against his ear and opened his lunchbox. Until that Fifth Hokage looked over All Might, the status of the Number One Hero was considered inactive which meant that there had been an increase in crime. For the last couple of days, he hadn't come home to see the nervous smile of his only daughter.
The house was definitely quieter without Natsuo, Shouto and Touya in the house. Then again, the house had never been filled with that much noise even when those three were there. Enji put down his chopsticks and listened to the quiet footsteps of his sidekick. His youngest son was always training while Touya became increasing more inactive growing up.
Dad, teach me one of your moves!
Excited turquoise eyes flashed before his eyes and Enji sunk even deeper inside his seat. He should have never taught that boy those moves. I should have stopped when it came obvious that his body would never adapt to his Quirk. His oldest son had so much potential but the mixture of his genes alongside Rei caused Touya to have a greater drawback.
It would always be his fault that his son would get burned from using his Quirk.
"Touya is in the stadium," Eisuke answered. Enji blinked and then clenched his hand against the smartphone as his heart raced against his chest. Did he really find his son? But how? His oldest son had done a good job of hiding his tracks. No matter how much money he threw, he could never find Touya. His body was always more fragile compared to Shouto and even Natsuo. He exhaled and cleared his throat.
An image of a tiny baby with flaming red hair resting against his chest flashed before his eyes and Enji took in another deep breath. Out of all his four kids, Touya was the smallest baby. Natsuo was the biggest one between the four of them while Shouto had the biggest lungs. He gazed up at the chandelier before looking out at the window.
His son ran away without any money on him and even though he pushed it aside, a part of him did wonder how his son made ends meet. Touya was a good artist. He flickered his eyes to the very first stick-figure drawing his oldest son gifted him and Enji placed his hand against the window panel. What was his son thinking when he ran away? Why did he even run away?
"It's your fault that Touya-niisan ran away!"
Natsuo's words echoed in his ears and a pair of teary grey eyes flashed before his eyes. Was it his fault like how it had been his fault that his son had gotten burnt injuries around his body? Maybe it is my fault. He didn't know what he did to make Touya run away but their last fight would never fade away from his memory.
You're never going to be a hero, Touya! I've no reason to train you!
If he continued with their usual training session then Touya would have died. His son didn't overheat from overusing his Quirk! He got burnt from just using his Quirk! Going Plus Ultra would get him kill and that final training session showed me that. Enji exhaled and rubbed the back of his neck before leaning against the wall.
"Why is Touya in the stadium?" He kept his tone impassive as the birds flew across the sky. Was his son a volunteer like that girl? It would never surprised him if his oldest boy still carried a torch for that girl. I don't understand why both of my sons like those Uzumaki women. He shook his head and let out another sigh.
Tomoyo was a good girl and there wouldn't be much problem if Touya wanted to be with her. The girl was a natural citizen of this country and had no obligation to go back to her father's birthplace. It's Shouto that I worry about when it comes to his relationship. His fifteen-year-old son was way too naïve if he thought maintaining a long-distance relationship was easy.
It had been clear to him from his son's internship that he truly liked the girl, which was fine with him. If Naruto wasn't a kunoichi then he wouldn't even have tried talking sense to him. It's difficult for two cultures to mesh together and since she is a soldier, she will have to go back. Shouto was more like Rei then he would ever know and he knew from experience that their relationship suffered during the time he was away.
The media painted the worst picture of him whenever he was around a female colleague and Rei would have doubts because of it.
"You think Touya will tell me anything?" Eisuke answered. Enji curled his lips into a scowl and made his way towards the door. He clicked the lock and went back to his seat as the birds began to chirp and the cars honked at each other. "You know he has never completely opened up to me. The only person who can get him to open up is either Tomo-chan or Natsuo, but you wouldn't know that…you neglectful asshole."
Enji blinked and then pushed down his irritation as footsteps echoed in the background. If this had been anyone else, he would have screamed at them for those words but this was still his oldest son's best friend. His first and only friend. He took a deep breath and leaned forward. His chair squeaked like a little mouse as harsh breaths echoed in the background of the phone.
"Is Touya alright?" Enji asked, gazing at the smiling All Might billboard. If he actually retires then everything I did had been for nothing. All that training on Touya and Shouto did, would have been a waste because…he didn't earn it. Pained turquoise eyes burned through his eyes before fading into hurt heterochromatic eyes. "Is he…happy?"
A snort echoed in the background and Eisuke finally answered. "Why the fuck are you acting like a caring father now? Where was that side when he needed you? You never cared before so why are you acting like you give a shit now!"
That kind of greed ruins families and people. Enji clenched his jaws together and looked down at his grilled chicken before pushing the food away from him. A memory flashed before his eyes of Fuyumi and Touya dashing around with his laughing wife chasing after them. Their smiling faces flashed before his eyes before turning into a sullen Touya and a nervous Fuyumi.
He didn't need to explain himself to Eisuke and it would be a cold day in hell before he verbally apologized to his family. Saying sorry to them would never make up for the neglect he put them through or the harsh training that both Touya and Shouto had to go through. He could only keep quiet and distance himself from them.
Though he did a horrible job when it came to Shouto but that was because his son was being completely naïve about his relationship.
"Eisuke, just tell me if Touya is fine," Enji grumbled. He dropped his head and kept his tone steady as his eyes flickered to the photo of his smiling son. I still don't know why I put that photo when he ran away. Maybe it was to remind himself that Touya was a happy kid with more potential of being a hero then him. "Tell me for Natsuo and Fuyumi's sake."
Eisuke sighed. "Fine? Sure, my best friend is fine if you consider the fact that he is going to get arrested but other then that then yeah he is doing fine."
The sounds became muffled against his ears as the word arrested echoed in his mind. His son was going to get arrested? No. There was no way that Touya would get arrested. He didn't have a bad bone inside of him! My son isn't a criminal! Bright cheerful turquoise eyes flashed again and the cheerful giggles of little children echoed in his ears.
I'm going to become an even better hero then you, Dad!
The smiling image of his son cracked and Enji felt his throat tightened. Touya wouldn't do this! His oldest child had always been the type to defend people! How many times did his oldest son fight with him over Shouto's training? I refuse to believe it! Touya can't be a criminal. His son had his whole future ahead of him. If he didn't become a hero then he could become something else.
Touya could become anything because he was a smart child.
"Touya isn't a criminal," Enji clenched his jaws together. "Do you realize what it means if people find out that my oldest child is a villain? Do you know what will happen to his mother if word got out? Rei is only starting to get better!"
He needed Rei to get better so that he could fully separate from them and just let his three children heal without him being around them. If word goes out that Touya is a villain then Rei might backslide again. He clenched his jaws together and took a deep breath, trying to calm down his raging heart. That wouldn't be the only problem for his family if that news come out.
Any future career that Natsuo and Shouto wanted was going to be tainted by this information alongside Fuyumi. Those three did not deserve to have this imprinted on their record. People will be more weary to work with them. He sunk deeper into his seat and closed his eyes. That was definitely not the worst part for them.
His oldest son would be sent to jail and there was no way that Touya could survive with such a fragile body.
"Your actions led him to committing those crimes," Eisuke finally answered. Enji closed his eyes and lowered his head slightly as memories flashed before his eyes. "Y'know why he started to hate heroes? It's because his own hero hurts his family! How can you even call yourself a hero if you hurt your own family? Everything he did is because of your actions towards him and your other children."
The phoneline died down as the smartphone crashed onto the ground. He stared blankly at the screen before gazing out to the billboard that showed a smiling All Might. He wasn't going to believe the whole criminal thing until he saw Touya for himself. His oldest child couldn't do this. His first born would never do this because…
"Look Dad, Fuyumi and me made you and Mom a cake for your anniversary! We tried to get Natsuo to help but all he does is make a mess!"
His kind son would never do this.
A/N: So Eisuke blames Endeavor while Hinata sees the similarity between Eisuke and Naruto. Naruto is thinking of a way to defeat Gang Orca and his sidekicks. We also see a little glimpse of Endeavor's feelings towards his son. Now here are a couple of questions for you:
Q1: How do you feel about Hinata's conversation with Eisuke?
Q2: Why do you think Bakugou decided to skip out in fighting Gang Orca?
Q3: How did you feel about Endeavor's POV?
Please do tell me of your thoughts on this chapter.
