Hmmm- wait a second, this isn't a proper chapter!

(I know, I have edited this chapter a little, felt it wasn't up to the standard)

Chapter 41: Snow, Ice and Whiskey

"Fuck sake, car is iced over...again" the Helltaker sighed as he stepped outside, staring at his giant black Mercedes, a lick layer of ice was covering the entire car, his breath was now clearly visible. The white gas ejecting from his mouth blended well with the blankets of snow that had recently fallen and now continued to fall. He blew what little warmth the vapour of breath could provide into his woolen black gloves as the perishing cold creeped into him. "Can't you two just breath fire on it or something?" he grinned while shivering, looking over at the two demons stood behind him. One was further out of the house than the other, the second demon wishing to remain in the warmth of the house.

A winter storm had descended upon the country, it's resulting winds and rapid snowfall had caused a freak blizzard to trap the family from Hell inside for a few days. Now their stocks of food, firewood, booze, patience and of course, milk, flour, eggs, and chocolate were all running low.

"Fuck. You. We aren't dragons, why are we even out here in the first place?" Malina grumbled from underneath the layers of coats and sweaters she had piled on. One of the sweaters had '3DO' written down the middle of it. She had her arm's crossed, the demon looking particuarly goofy with a giant red and blue bobble hat that she had borrowed from the Helltaker. It was pulled down over her forehead, almost down to her nose, partially blocking her sight, it was accompanied by a thick red scarf. She looked truly prepared to brave the storm.

"Not going to lie, I'm kinda missing Hell right about now" Modeus whined, she reluctantly stepped outside and shut the front door noticing a significant amount of snow was entering it. She came over to the Helltaker and tried her best to get as physically close to him as possible, she had previously attempted this multiple times over the last few days, aiming to get under his giant sweater. So close that they would share the sweater. The Lustful Demon had also wrapped up well, wearing four layers: a thick red turtleneck, a hoodie, one of the Helltaker's overjackets and a thick puffy black coat, also owned by the Helltaker.

The giant man was wearing a thick parker coat with the furry hood up and tightened, he had two sweaters, one thin and one thick on underneath and had decided it best to wear some skinny tracksuits in this wet weather. He was bound to fall over at some point.

Of course he was still wearing his sunglasses.

"Hey Mo! Not now" he chuckled, moving Modeus's head gently away as she bent down, she was aiming for bottom of his coat, trying to get underneath it. "We gotta figure out what to do with the car". Despite pushing Modeus away he took off his gloves gave them to the demon, knowing she was feeling the cold more than he was, he also put his arm around the Lustful Demon and rubbed her shoulder to generate warmth. A gesture she loved, becoming warmer purely from embarassment and of course arousal. "To get all this ice off would take ages, besides we have left it too late in the day to go to the store in this weather, the roads will be damn treacherous" he looked at the giant car and pondered what to do.

"What are we doing out here then?" the Sour Demon repeated, "Why did you drag me out here?! I'm freezing my ass off!". Malina, despite her cold weather protection was also beginning to feel numb. He noticed Modeus's cheeks and nose were already becoming a rosy red as the snow continued to fall onto their faces.

"Do you want your vodka or not?" he teased, jabbing at Malina's pride. The man now moving over to his car and clicking the keyfob once, suprisingly it responded and unlocked. "Huh, I thought it would have frozen up entirely, electrics included" he spoke to himself. The Helltaker never thought living near the coast would have caused his giant tank of a car to freeze over completely; there had been a thick and potent sea fog over the last few nights, adding more and more moisture to the car to be subsequently frozen, creating more and more layers of ice.

Now his car was trapped in these layers, the Helltaker having to break through it to get to the door handle, he kicked himself mentally for not de-icing the car the first day it froze over completely. He struggled at first as he gently scraped the ice away but eventually decided just to punch through it, he had punched undead skeletons to death for god sake, this should be easy.

"Of course I want my vodka, don't you know me?" Malina now came over to the Helltaker, watching him break the ice after repeatedly hitting it and finally climbing into the driver's seat.

"Unfortunately I do know you Malina" he smirked looking at the dashboard. "-Ah ya fucker! That hurt more than usual" he smiled rubbing his left shoulder where Malina punched him. He tried starting the engine, the car spluttered, barely making an audible noise. "Shit, that doesn't sound good". He tried turning the keys again, the engine becoming slightly louder, but unfortunately it did not come to life.

"Why isn't it starting?" Modeus now came over to the driver's side too, hugging herself for warmth, the two watching the Helltaker try again to start the car. Malina was taking delight in his suffering.

"Come on baby, start...please" he begged, trying once more caused the car to seemingly come to life, the headlights flashing on temporaily, but the engine was refusing to turn over and start. The dashboard and then the headlights of the Mercedes gave one final sputter before shutting off completely, refusing to turn on again. The car was now completely unresponsive, turning the key in the ignition was useless. "Shit".

"Alright well we tried, I'm going inside now...where it's not fucking snowing" Malina turned around and stomped through the crunchy snow back to the front of the house, pounding on the white door to be let back inside. The Helltaker turned to see a frowning Modeus, the demon wanted to help, but she hadn't a clue what to say.

"Is it dead?" she got closer to him, almost tempted to climb onto his lap. He nodded silenty and turned to see a tired and shivering Pandemonica answer the front door and let Malina back inside. The tired, coffee deprived demon then slammed the door as quickly as possible in order to keep the heat in and the biting cold out. When he turned to look back at Modeus he chuckled to himself, seeing that she was examining the dashboard as if trying to diagnose the problem. Modeus had been very eager to get out of the house, she also was running out of reading material and wished to buy more. She had been the first to willingly volunteer to help him go shopping, however now their hopes of leaving the house had been snubbed entirely.

"The battery has just kicked the bucket and the starter motor is refusing to turn over...the short of it is we are stranded here" he sighed, deciding to tell Modeus the truth even if she didn't understand it. The man silently wondered what to do, pressing his forehead gently against the top of the steering wheel in defeat. Maybe I could get a... he began this thought but never finished it.

"What about...ya know?" Modeus gestured with her head towards the garage door, the Helltaker was slightly confused by what she was implying.

"What about what?" he asked, not really paying attention, deciding to rest his head a while longer, but Modeus had leant in closer to whisper into his ear.

"Mustang" she had placed her hand at the side of her lips to muffle her whisper as if someone was listening, even despite the raging wind and snow that they were out in she felt she had to whisper it's name. However, the Helltaker heard her perfectly clear and instantly disapproved.

"Oh, no way! I'm not taking her out in this, she'll get ruined on those roads. She doesn't have the right tires and her windo-" again he wasn't allowed to finish. The man now climbed out of the Mercedes and slammed the door shut mid-argument.

"Well she is not starving and freezing! I can't believe you got that old log burner out too, I mean- it is cute and cozy to cuddle in front of- but wait, we haven't cuddled in front of it yet!" Modeus's was getting completely off topic, her rambling was confusing him increasingly more.

"Weren't we talking about my car?" he asked, ushering the demon inside now, there was no point in arguing out in the cold.

"Forget the damn car, when are we going to cuddle in front of the log burner?!" she persisted. He was regretting ever telling her about his other "love", she had become extremely recluse and refused to talk to him for days after that conversation. He finally had to end it by physically taking Modeus outside to show her that the car was in fact a car and not another demon or human woman he had locked in his garage. The look on her face though...priceless.

"Forget the damn log burner, what are we gonna do about being stranded in the snow?! What's the other car got to do with any of it?" he spoke just quietly enough at that last part so the others in the lounge didn't hear mention of his pride and joy. When the two finally entered the house and shut the door behind them, they both shook the snow off of their bodies. Their argument was getting back on track now. "You really think it's a good idea to take a rear wheel drive muscle car out in the snow and packed ice?" he protested.

"I don't know what any of that means!" she squeaked, the demon was beginning to get annoyed.

"It will take us literally hours to get to the nearest store. I'll have to do the bare minimum speed limit so we don't skid off the road every time we turn a corner" again his logic was fullproof. However, Modeus had had enough.

"Take the damn car out with me in it or I'm spiking your drink again" she was actually threatening the Helltaker. Her face becoming a bright shade of red. Unfortunately this was not an empty threat, she always followed through with her threats.

"I swear to whatever god you demons fear, if you test another damn love potion on me again you are losing all cuddling privileges..." he countered, half regretting what he was saying.

"You monster..." she gasped. The two had now locked eyes and both of them had a stern expression on their faces, brows furrowed.

They were at a stalemate.

While the two were glaring at each other, the silence was interrupted by the Curious Angel Azazel, she was wrapped up in a giant blanket, almost tripping over it as she walked towards them. "Oh, I thought you had already left?" Azazel looked at the remnants of snow still glazing their coats.

"We were just leaving" Modeus and the Helltaker both spoke at the same time, both through gritted teeth.

"Ahhh...well" Azazel took a few steps more steps towards the two. "Could I bother you to add Gingerbread house making equipment to your list?" it was the angel's turn to be flushed red.

When he finally broke away from his staring contest with Modeus he realised how embarassed she was and had to confirm what Azazel had just asked. "I'm sorry, what did you ask for?" he said coming closer to the angel and wrapping the big brown wollen blanket more tightly around his winged guardian.

"Gingerbread building construction equipment?" Azazel thought she had said the name wrong.

"You want to make a Gingerbread house?" he chuckled softly at how complex the angel was making this request. "Want me to find some cookie cutters?".

"Yes...cookie cutters, I know what they are" she blatantly didn't.

"Walls, door and a roof. Don't worry I'll show you how to make it" he smiled, he took off his sunglasses and wiped the moisture off of the lenses with the bottom of his sweater.

"T-thank you! Do you think you'll be able to find them? Me, Judgement and Ms Beelzebub would like to see who would make the best one" she nervously confessed, as if she was asking too much.

"I know you prefer formality, but you don't have to keep calling her Ms Beelzebub. Beelzebub or Beel is just fine" he glanced over to see Modeus waving her tail sporadically to remove the snow and water off of it.

"Yes she has already mentioned that several times" Azazel then leant in to whisper to him, "I think it irritates her, Lucifer has requested that I should keep doing it".

"Well, you have already made one mistake there: listening to the devil" he joked, immediately regretting uttering the words.

"I HEARD THAT!" an angry and hungry voice came from within the lounge.

"Anyway, I'll add it to the list" he smiled, quickly changing subject. "Now go and keep warm with the others, little potato". The brown rug wrapped around her made the angel look just like the earthy vegetable.

"Thank you!" Azazel wanted to hug him but the Helltaker had wrapped the blanket around her in such a way to keep her body heat trapped underneath as well as her arms. As Azazel scooted back towards the lounge, the Helltaker heard a familiar jingle of keys being rattled on a key chain.

He turned and saw Modeus stood their with the small set of keys to his Mustang.

"How did you-" he asked, wondering how on earth the demon found and took the keys without him noticing. They had been hidden underneath the plant pot on the hallway table. In front of where Azazel had been standing.

She shook the keys once before closing her fist around them. There had been a sudden, yet significant change in her mood while he had chatted to Azazel.

"Car now...I'm fired up after that argument" she spoke sternly, the presence in her voice commanding. The demon had now grabbed him by the hand and was leading him back outside with some considerable force, her firm grip not letting him pull away.

Oh boy.

The front door slammed shut behind them.

"Well looks like you saved Christmas...again" Lucifer watched as the two busied themselves putting groceries and other supplies away in their relative spots. It had been a gruelling three hour journey, but thanks to the Helltaker's patience and skill, he and Modeus didn't spin off the road... well maybe once or twice they did.

Utilising the higher gears and as well as the Mustang's powerful V8 engine he could actually power through most of the snow that caked the roads, thankfully ice wasn't too big of a problem. There had been precautions put in place that year.

"I only saved last Christmas by extinguishing a burning Christmas tree, no biggie" he smiled as he moved into the lounge. He put a few more logs into the burner, the three pieces of wood catching light immediately, the man felt Zdrada's gaze burning through the back of his head. "That warm enough for you?" he asked the room at large, the burner was connected to a corner in the room, the Helltaker simply put it back where it had originally came from.

The house actually came with the log burner when he bought it, but since the winters weren't so cold here he decided to remove it. The fireplace was just hidden by a a waist high bookcase temporarily until he would decide what to do with it, never getting round to it. All he had to do was give the place a quick clean before reconnected it to the funnel leading up the chimney.

He received a few nods and one "Thank you dude" from Justice, the former prosecutor hated the cold. It reminded her of the abyss.

The Helltaker now got up from kneeling and stood, walking out of the lounge and into the kitchen.

"Not going to be joining us?!" Beelzebub asked, trying not to sound needy, the older demon had been saving a space for him next to her on the sofa.

"I'll be with you shortly, got to take care of something first" he replied. "Do you need any help Modeus?" he asked, checking to see what was left to put away.

"Well...now that you mention it theres an itch-" she began.

"Looks like you don't need any help after all, right I'll be upstairs if you need me" he spoke just as quickly as he retreated from the kitchen, trudging up the three flights before anyone could distract him.

"Hey? Is this thing on?" the Helltaker's big dumb, grizzled face appeared, the man coming increasingly closer to the camera until his entire face filled the frame. It had been a particularly cold week in the lead up to Christmas on this second year of living with his demons, so he decided to keep the start of his beard until it had gotten warmer. The central heating combined with the log burner was doing a poor job of warming the entire house, therefore it was still somewhat chilly indoors. He had undressed and now was wearing a thick red sweater and black jeans, not the super tight ones. Comfort more than style, but of course, his old sunglasses remained unmoved from his face. "Ah, it is recording. You know know how shit I am with cameras" he smiled straight at the lens.

After a few minutes he set the camera down opposite where he was sitting, the man taking his seat retrieving a glass of whiskey from the table next to his chair. The bottle was hidden from sight, stashed behind a few books. He was currently in his bedroom, occupying a single soft brown chair placed in the centre of the room. The camera was his own and it was recording him from the bed, tilted slightly upward and placed on a book to cover the entire shot. He was never going to be a master cameraman.

"So, another year over, a new one just about to begin...and what a hell of year it has been" he spoke finally, holding his glass in his right hand, swirling the brown liquid round and round in the personalised whiskey glass that Beelzebub had bought him. It had "My Helltaker" engraved into it, there was a small heart engraved underneath the text as well, a small demon tail protruded from the side of it. Although it had been a gift from Beelzebub he considered it was from all of them, they all had bought him equally wacky and thoughtful gifts last year.

"We have had our rough patches this year..." he paused and made direct eye contact with the camera. "Ha, who am I kidding? This entire year has been a rough patch hasn't it?" he smiled, looking over at his newest additions of framed family photos, maybe not for him. The camera watched as his eyes wandered to the heavy snowfall that was now falling past his bedroom's window. "I've had it quite well, I won't lie...I have a...a family here. That loves and support me" his mind flashed through the pleasant memories of the year so far. "But for you, I know it hasn't been easy, I know it will be-".

A knock came from the door behind him, but before the man could turn around and answer, the demon had already entered.

"Hey, Lucy said you were up here. I wasn't paying attention where you said you were going. Just was wondering if you wanted to go for a-" Judgement stopped dead looking straight at the camera on his bed. There was a few brief seconds of silence before the Helltaker followed her to where she was staring.

"I'm just filming a little message, don't mind me J. Annual tradition." he turned to look over his seat chuckling, laughing at the embarrassment all over the grey demon's face. "Camera shy?" he teased.

"NO! I'm not shy!" she turned away from the man and the camera and tightened the cords of her outfit. She was probably embarrassed due to her appearance and the clothes she was wearing; her fluffy black gown with the two white Xs on the back and the white slippers on her feet, her messy white hair was loose and unsupported falling down her back. Not in line with traditional prosecutor attire.

"What did you want anyway?" he went to stand, smiling and moving closer to the prosecutor. His back was now to the camera, Judgement was hidden from view behind the man's giant frame. You couldn't tell but he was holding the grey prosecutor's hands, warming her's with his own, causing the demon to be evenly more embarrassed, even if she denied it.

"Is that thing still recording?" the camera's microphone could barely hear as she whispered.

"Of course, it's an honest recording. Why would I want to hide my family from the public? This is going live to thousands of people right now" he teased further.

"WHAT?!" she squealed, turning to retreat from the room.

"Judgement wait! I was joking!" he called after her, but the not-so shy prosecutor was already gone, fleeing downstairs. He simply chuckled, sighing pleasantly to himself and closing the door, going to sit back down again.

"Anyway, where was I?" he sat down and picked his glass up again, holding off from taking a sip. "Oh, yes...I know better times are to come. We have lost friends and family, we have had to adapt socially and mentally, keeping ourselves locked away at home". A sombre tone was now set, the pandemic this year had kept them all inside. Cerberus had been bouncing off the walls, walks were limited when the beaches became crowded. There will probably be another one next year he thought.

"Are you fucking livestreaming in here?!" a sour voice shattered the delicate atmosphere, he welcomed it. Malina practically kicked open the door, it banging against the wall, she was already on the vodka, a bottle of her favourite brand in one hand. Practically empty already. "WITHOUT ME?!".

"Ever heard of knocking?" he again turned, seeing a slightly intoxicated Malina enter, her way of keeping warm. The demon glaring at him and at the camera laying on the bed, her usual sour expression causing him to smile. Malina had undressed out of her arctic expedition gear and was wearing the giant black hoodie that the Helltaker had only recently gifted her, the hood was up and the drawstrings were tightened. Underneath she wore black baggy tracksuits and a simple red top. He smiled noticing that she was wearing his hoodie more often. Probably because it's the only warm piece of clothing she owned.

"I literally bought you five bottles and you've nearly finished one, it's been like fifteen minutes". To this Malina simply glared, glossing over this comment and ignoring it.

It's her vodka, she can do what she likes with it.

"What the fuck is this, why are you talking to a camera, what a shit setup, it's not connected to anyfin-" she slurred, taking another gulp straight from her bottle, almost finishing it. But before he could get a word in Malina's sister had appeared.

"Dude can you get your ass downstairs, I can't be arsed to deal with fucking Beelzebub and Lucifer arguing over pointless crap again" Zdrada blew a large cloud of cigarette smoke into his room. The Bitch Demon was wearing one of her spiked black jackets, the insulation it provided was superior to any other clothing she had. Besides she was warm and she looked badass.

"I'll be down in a minute, just recording a video for...for posterity sake" he decided on his answer.

"Whatever ya bitch, be a good little human and just stop them from arguing" Zdrada grabbed the bottle from Malina's hand and downed the last remnants of Vodka.

"HEY!" Malina screeched, the Sour Demon scrabbling to catch the empty bottle as it was thrown back at her.

"Eck, why'd you leave me the dregs?" she replaced the taste of weak Vodka with tobacco quickly, but before Malina could answer back Zdrada gave her the middle finger, then she turned to direct it at the Helltaker and then finally directed double middle fingers at the camera.

"See you later dickheads" at that she stormed off back downstairs, as much as she wanted to torment the Helltaker right now she just wanted to keep warm.

For a few moments, Malina look back from where her sister had been ans simply stared at the Helltaker, not glaring like usual, just drunkenly confused. She swayed slightly, but she was far from being properly inebriated. "Do you wan- anything?" she finally asked, forgetting about the camera completely now.

"No" he chuckled, "Go on, I'll be down soon" he guided the demon to the door, but she hadn't taken the hint to leave yet.

"Wha? Are you kickin me out?" Malina's tone was hostile, very cute.

"I heard Zdrada was going to eat your last bag of Cheetos, I didn't buy anymore" the human lied, knowing that would get the demon away. Not having to see her out, he went and sat down again.

"WHAT?! NO! I was saving them!" Malina began to hurry down the stairs, slamming his door as she left. "Zdrada you're fucking dead!" he heard the demon's muffled voice through the walls as she descended.

"Modeus?" Lucifer's voice came from the Lustful Demon's bedroom doorway. The demon in question snapping to attention, pausing the video and hiding the camera away under her sheets.

"What?!" she snapped, white hot embarrassment consuming her.

"What are you doing with his camera? And why are you playing at four a.m!" the devil had every right to be angry. "Do you know how loud that is?!".

"Well..I...I wanted to watch it?" she sounded confused even though she was the one answering. In truth she wanted to reminisce, she had been looking through all of the old videos on his camera, this was the last one. The memories of that Christmas had come flooding back to her, how they were stranded, the slow drive to the shop, the log burner, the gingerbread houses, the cold...and the warm nights.

The nights spent snuggled up in front of a gentle, yet radiant fire...

"Sorry I'll turn the volume down" Modeus looked at the floor, like a child caught being up past their bedtime.

It was the last evening before the Helltaker and Malina's trial tomorrow.

She couldn't sleep...she couldn't stop thinking about tomorrow...She...

...

"How did you even acquire it? You know he keeps that locked away" Lucifer rubbed her eyes and peered around the darkness of Modeus' room, she decided to come inside and shut the door.

"I..I stole it" she said shamefully, however she did not receive any scolding or disapproval from the devil.

"I would have done the same" Lucifer now came to sit on the bed next to Modeus, making herself comfortable. "Move over" she commanded.

The Lustful Demon was shocked by this sudden company as well as the intrigue the devil had. She instantly obeyed and was confused as to what to do next, covering her body with the blanket. "Modeus why do you always sleep naked. You must be freezing in the winter, we aren't in Hell anymore" Lucifer decided to be honest.

"It's not the winter though, is it?" Modeus protested.

"You got me there, it soon will be though" Lucifer replied plainly.

An awkward silence followed. Modeus was very uncomfortable.

"Play the damn thing then!".

When they had resumed playing the video, the Helltaker was sat down again but in a differemt position, still holding the whiskey glass up, about to toast. Modeus must of skipped ahead a minute or two unknowingly.

"So he-" but yet again he was interrupted.

"Dude, I smell whiskey...lemme in" a polite and at the same time awesome voice sounded before knocking on the door.

"Oh my lord, is there a queue for people knocking on my door?" he huffed, opening the door and letting the blind demon in.

"What are you doing up here drinking on your own?" as soon as she had stepped inside she had pinched the whiskey glass straight out of his hand and taken a large sip."WOAH! Now that's- mmmmh! You keeping the good stuff for yourself or something? I thought we shared?" the cheeky demon smiled up at him. She hadn't quite drank the entire contents of the glass, thankfully leaving him the other half.

Justice was wearing one of her thick black leathery jackets, the material was almost like kevlar, woven of some strange demonic material. It was a memento from her prosecutor days and apparently it was "warm as fuck", the blind demon was also wearing some red tracksuits, but was strangely barefoot. He had asked if she wanted to borrow some slippers or socks and she had declined. Modeus had once asked him if he had a foot fetish, his instant response in the form of a sharp laugh had shut that conversation down before it started.

"You know you're supposed to sip it, I don't know how you gulp it down like that. Savour the taste, also makes it last longer".

"What can I say? Guess I'm thirsty" she winked at him through her tinted lenses. "I find it better to get rid of it all in one, that mantra helped me diet during post-prosecutor days" the blind demon still had the glass in her gloved hands, tempted to drink the rest in one too. "You didn't answer my question, why are you up here drinking it?".

"Well I save the bottle for special occasions, thought I'd have a glass of it now" he said honestly, taking the glass half empty back from the demon. Justice frowning temporarily, the alcohol was now out of reach.

"Well let me know next time you crack it open, drinking is for two not one" she pointed a finger gun at him.

"Noted...just don't do the drinking for both of us next time alright?" he smiled.

All of a sudden the wholesome atmosphere was shattered as Beelzebub, Lucifer, Modeus and Pandemonica entered, soon followed by the trio of Cerberus, Malina and Zdrada, all entering his room, Azazel was close behind with her notepad. Judgement was last to arrive, leaning against the door frame, smirking, arms crossed. It became awfully crowded all of a sudden.

Beelzebub was wearing a thick crimson blazer done up to the collar and tight black tights, Lucifer was in a red and black turtleneck similar to Modeus's with skinny black jeans. Pandemonica was wearing her comfy grey turtleneck sweater and shorts, not minding the cold but wishing she was asleep right about now. Cerberus was all wearing the brown dog onsies they had been gifted the year before. Azazel suprisingly still had her brown potato blanket around her, but this time had her arms free to write, it was more draped over her than wrapped now.

"TAKER!" the devil's voice shrieked, "TELL HER! Since you two are in bed together so frequently I imagine you are the only person she listens to when she takes her clothes off for you". Lucifer was more insulting him and Beel than making a point. Modeus was shocked at this claim.

Oh boy...

"Tell her what?" he asked calmly, already trying to keep Cerberus occupied with his free hand, also trying his best not to spill his whiskey.

"Oh please Lucy, already you are going down the route of lifestyle insults? What would you like me to say? "I'm sorry I can please him better than you can" Beelzebub jabbed back hard.

"Tell her she is fucking bitch..." Lucy paused temporarily, "-and that she can't put pancakes in the toaster..." Lucifer glared at her rival.

"This is what this is about?" he gazed at the two then at Pandemonica, Azazel and Modeus, all of them nodding, Modeus refusing to look at him at the moment. Cerberus was just happy to be there, playing around the room on her own now, in the middle of the commotion.

"Lucy made my pancakes cold, I simply wanted to heat them up" Beelzebub defended herself.

"I'VE BEEN CLEANING BURNT CHOCOLATE OUT OF THE TOASTER FOR THREE DAYS!" Lucifer finally lost it, shouting loudly. The two almost clashing, but reluctantly he now stood between them.

"Must be someone else, I wouldn't be so simple. So primitive." Beelzebub teased...in truth she was that simple. Spending an enternity in the void would do that someone...

"Whoops" Zdrada smirked, realising she was also guilty of such a crime.

"YOU TOO?" Lucifer snapped her attention to the older sister instantly.

"Hey they were cold man, at least he makes his warm and they stay warm" Zdrada tried defending herself, but that was the last nail in the coffin for Lucifer's anger management.

As another argument exploded, the Helltaker simply stepped away from his demonic harem, at least this one was about something other than himself. He now held his glass up and toasted to the camera.

"Here's to you. Merry Christmas" he smiled, taking a big sip after. He was about to drink the last of it, but yet again Justice took the glass and drank half, giving the last dregs to Modeus. They were the only two who weren't arguing or speaking. She hesitated before draining the glass, the demon reacted well to the strong alcohol, her face becoming blush red, it had ignited all her senses, her fiery lust once more. Her heart shaped pupils going straight to the Helltaker.

In the last minute of the video, a lone Cerberus had discovered and taken an interest in the camera and managed to turn it off accidentally when placing it in her mouth, the last shot was up her nose.

"That it?" Lucifer checked to see if there was any other footage after that, nope that was it. She placed the camera down and yawned, rubbing her eyes with the other hand. The devil then noticed Modeus had become extremely quiet. "Are you okay Mo?".

"I just...I want that to be us next Christmas...I-" her voice was breaking apart.

"A cold, chaotic family always arguing? No thanks. I wish for a quiet one after this year, the shit we have been through" the devil trying to change the subject.

"We deserve it" she gave Modeus a friendly look, kindness was something she offered rarely and only to her closest friends. They sat a while on the double bed, the two simply staring off into space, into the darkness, the dread of what tomorrow would bring was lingering over them.

"Why did we have to come here...why did he make us love him..." Modeus broke the silence abruptly, she now seemed depressed rather than sad.

Lucifer thought a while before speaking again. "Heh, would you rather go back to punishing the damned for eternity with your body and sledgehammer, prefer being a temptress rather being loved?".

Silence.

"Is this really love?" Modeus sighed.

"Is this...any of this real?" Lucifer countered.

"Well... y-yes of course. We are here aren't we?" Modeus fell for Lucifer's trap.

"Then there is your answer" the devil was becoming too comfortable, now deciding to pull the covers over herself.

"Wh-what are you doing?!" Modeus squeaked, trying not to be loud and wake the whole house.

"Staying...you don't know how much I hate sleeping on my own. Now shut the fuck up and go to sleep" the devil ordered.

Modeus was so confused and uncomfortable that she lay there for a few hours trying to process it, eventually decided to accept it and turn over, why was everyone being so werid? she thought... Herself included.

Since when did the CEO of Hell care for company?

...
