The rogue avengers were just pardoned, and have been living in the tower for a month now. That makes it Peter, Tony, Natasha, Steve, Bucky, Clint, Wanda, Scott, Sam, Rhodey, and Vision all living in the tower. Wanda and Vision usually aren't here, though, off doing their own things. This is true for today, as well. Everyone except Peter, Tony, Rhodey, Wanda, and Vision are all in the common room, talking. Somehow, someway, the conversation got to Spider-man.
"He's young to be a hero, don't you think?" Steve still couldn't believe he has seen so much at such a young age. "He talks so much, I mean, I love the kid, I really do, but sometimes he's too immature for missions."
"Yeah, I can't believe it," Bucky agreed, Clint, Scott, and Sam nodding. Natasha just sat quietly, listening to the conversation and making sure Peter didn't come in so he won't hear them.
"Stark shouldn't have done that, recruit a kid, I mean. Sometimes Stark's morals are questioning to me, as a father, and a hero," Scott said, and Natasha snorted at this.
"Wouldn't want Peter to hear you say that," she mumbled, all attention turning to her, making her look up from brandishing one of her pistols.
"What," Scott asked, attention going to Nat. She smirked. "You mean he wouldn't want to be called a kid, right? I mean, he is just a kid."
"No, he doesn't mind that very much" she shook her head, "he wouldn't want you to be talking about Stark that way. Peter can get really angry, and defensive, and it gets dangerous. He doesn't care what people say about him, but include Stark? Man, it's over for you once he hears about it."
"I doubt Peter would do anything, he's too nice and happy and bubbly for that!" Sam argued. Natasha looked at him, slightly worried.
"You won't test it, will you?" She sounded as worried as she looked. This made the others a little nervous, as the Black Widow is never worried, but also curious to see Peter's anger. Scott smirked.
"Oh, yes, we are." They nodded, some hesitant, but still nodded, all except for Natasha.
"No! You'll put everything at risk! Don't do it!" She tried to stop him, but at that moment, Peter walked in after the elevator doors chimed, and slid open.
"Hi, guys!" He greeted. Everyone waved, Natasha making silent pleas with her facial expressions not to anger him. They just fell on deaf ears… or, rather, blind eyes? Scott started talking quietly, but loud enough that he knew Peter could hear him with his super hearing.
"Man, Stark's not very smart, is he? I mean, bringing a kid to a war, so long ago? I still can't believe it!" He whispered. Bucky nodded, playing along.
"I know, I don't think he even has morals, he needs to be smarter if he wants to be friends again. I'm still pretending to be nice, I still don't trust him or like him right now." At this point, Peter stopped in his tracks in the entrance to the kitchen. Steve seemed more hesitant, but joined in.
"Yeah, after the war between us, I still think he's stuck up." At this rate, Peter slowly turned around, the others noticing his anger and fury in his eyes.
He whispered menacingly, but loud enough to be heard, "What did you just say?" He sends a glare to everyone in the room, making them slightly scared. His eyes start to slowly glow a bluish purple, and Natasha recognizes what's happening. She scrambled to her phone, and dialed Tony's and Rhodey's numbers on a group call. Once they answered, she explained.
"Guys! Code blue! Code blue! Common room floor! Hurry!" She whispered/yelled. She stood up slowly, attracting Peter's gaze to her. "Relax, Peter, it's fine, just relax. Calm down, baby spider." He started slowly calming, but made eye contact with Scott, and flared up again, slowly walking over to him.
"What do you think you're doing, talking about my father figure like that? I didn't know you could stoop down so low." His tone was menacingly calm, but dripping with venom. "You dare talk about him behind his back? You didn't even try to hide it from me." They all gulped. Peter began stalking towards them, kicking a table out of the way, as it slammed into the wall. They began to back into the wall.
"Peter, little spider, listen, it was a joke, a prank, they pulled on you to test your anger, they didn't mean it. Calm down, little one." Natasha tried calming him once more, but Peter kept walking. Just as Peter was about to reach them, the sounds of thrusters filled their ears, making Peter falter a bit, before freezing in his spot. Rhodey and Tony rushed in, urgently going towards Peter. Tony got in between Peter and the others, successfully blocking his view, and making the color in his eyes falter as they met his. Rhodey gently guided Peter to the couch to sit down, while Tony kept eye contact.
"Now, Peter, calm down, okay? Listen to my voice, close your eyes, just take deep breaths." Tony guided him into being calm, as Rhodey readied a small syringe. Once it was ready, he inserted it into Peter's arm, and Peter's eyes began to droop, eventually closing completely, and Peter going limp into Tony's awaiting arms. "Now, gentlemen, I'd suggest staying away from him for a while, and explain what you did, why you did it, and how much you're sorry. He'll try to apologize, but tell him not to, he says sorry too much and I want to break the habit. Now, I need to deposit him into his room to sleep off the sedative. And, yes, he would've thrown you out of a window if we hadn't arrived and Natasha wasn't here." The others shuddered, as Tony and Rhodey walked off with Peter to his room. Right then, and there, they swore not to do that again.
The next few days, they avoided Peter, but eventually he was calm enough for them to get the chance to apologize, and explain, and they all made up, Peter tried to apologize, but as Tony said to do, they either ignored it, or didn't accept his apology.
