Patchwork Road

Chapter summary: To stew in helplessness is just as bad as to stew in confusion, Bruce finds.
41. Disconnect
Tony's sophisticated gadgetry tells the team that they have been stranded and imprisoned in this arctic planet for three days, but it feels more like a century to Bruce.
He is thoroughly fed up of being caged, of being gawked at, of being scrutinised by possible hostiles. He longs to unleash Hulk on these monsters. If only the Avengers weren't here, including a still-unconscious Loki.
Their captors are smart, to imprison them together in this giant ice-hut, even if they must also do that to their own number – the giant who invited them here, who made Loki scream, who never lets go of him ever since that time. With such a high risk of friendly fire, Bruce daren't do anything but stew.
But then a smaller, slimmer giant barges into the hut, and Loki is released – albeit into the newcomer's arms instead of to the Avengers – and….
What is that thing doing? Cradling, cuddling, caressing, nursing Loki… like to a baby….
No, there's a huge piece missing here. But what?!
