Episode 41: Fighting Our Way Out

Variable Cord watched the battle unfolding in front of his eyes. He crossed his arms as the monsters charged at the demons in a grand battle to escape from the clutches of the evil demon army.

The Hundred demons weren't all there, the Omni Lord could see. Around half of them were ready to tear down the group. He stayed on the side, ready to intervein if anything was going south. Not only that, but to avoid getting detected by Yamigedo. He had a feeling that the Great Fiend would take action upon noticing his existence. The monster in human form frowned at the sight of the giant fiend that Tenbu raised, I cannot afford to die or everything would be for nothing.

Demios let out a loud battle cry as his sword sliced one of the demons on the chest. He watched him backing off in fear and whining like a young child who got a cut. He saw the demons as a bunch of children now and it was ready sickening him. He never expected the demons to become so weak and defeating them was just unsatisfying. His weapon collided with another one and the battle continued. He gave a few quick gazed to his buddy and saw that the boy was fine.

Jackknife was protecting the other side of the battleground, also doing the same and checking on his buddy, just in case any demons tried to harm him. He blocked any attacks with the blade on his head and countered with everything he had. As a Star Dragon, he was stronger than before and with his experience in battle, handled them quick easily. It was obvious for him that their laziness would be their downfall in this fight. The green dragon had to admit that he might had become stronger since he lost his sight. He was quick to notice when one of them tried to get from behind. He avoided it without problem and countered with a tail whip on the face of that evil monster.

Paruko and Sofia casted spells to protect the monsters when they were about to get flank or to go on the offensive. It was the best they could do.

Gratos watched the silver haired girl named Sofia and let out a small smile, "Such a fighting spirit. I still cannot put my finger on who you are, but it doesn't matter," as he watched the battle, he was hit by a violent nostalgia. It reminded him of the final battle between Yamigedo and his army against the Omni Lords. It wasn't as impressive, but it brought back the good times where he had a purpose.

In this world, his master won. It could be said that evil win and got over the world. The Earth was isolated to avoid the demons infesting the others. Because of that, they were stuck on Earth, something the skull demon couldn't believe that humans agreed. A self-sacrifice that brought the safety of the universe, but doomed the Earth. Victory, was more bitter than sweet for him.

For many years, just sitting on his throne and listening to the same boring reports of finding humans and eliminating them. If he wasn't a dead monster, he would have grown fat and he knew it.

But now, right now, his bones were cracking with anticipation. A smile was on his face as someone, at this moment, he felt alive. The battlefield was a moment where he lived. A moment where he was happy. He hoped that in the end, they would escape for another day. Another battle. He wanted more than just one. His eyes searched for a worthy opponent. One he wanted to fight. He grabbed something from under his armor. A small necklace with a red mark of the demon on it, "If only you shared my view," he whispered before hiding it once again. He frowned as he searched for the strongest warrior. If he had a heart, it would beat loudly inside of his chest. Instead, it was his lifeforce or also known as his soul that was beating loudly inside of his armor.

Tasuku slid under a demon and with one him, sent the demon crying. It was ridiculous for the boy to be too good against them. His small size might help him, but it wasn't supposed to be that big of an advantage. He dodged a demon aiming at him with his blade and countered with a kick on the demon eye. He slid away as more came.

Demios and Jackknife came to rescue the boy and pushed the demon away. The two dragons fought the demons together in tandem. Each dragon had their back as they blocked and counter attacked against each demon coming for their blood. It wasn't long before the demons became hesitant and were panting nervously.

One demon remained on the side as he watched them fighting. He held his weapon on his shoulder. It was the dragon demon who was guarding Sofia cell. He gazed at the girl and after a moment, turned around.

"Where are you going Buzzsaw?" Gratos grunted.

"Elsewhere. Either kill me now or let me go. I don't care. She will never come back," he walked away, "Sofia reminded me of my sin I tried to push away. I can't escape it anymore."

The second in command of the Hundred Demon grunted as he left. In the end, he let him go. There was no purpose in keeping him or killing him. Maybe they might fight another time. The other demons were getting their behind kicked and sent away by the three dragons.

Gallows defeated many demons with his claws and pushed them away. He had a few of the demons on the ground and were crying in pain. They were acting like children. His purple eyes went towards the demons. He could finish them off, but they were just too pitiful. He wouldn't call them out on it or they might try to become stronger.

The humans casted their spells and defeated a few of them. Eventually, their numbers were dropping pretty quickly.

Gratos saw that it was going south, but he picked his target. He noticed that the green dragon was fighting better than the others, as if he had greater instinct.

He grabbed his sword and charged at the dragon. He went behind the dragon and aimed at the neck. Jackknife twisted his head and blocked the sword with his blade and countered with his tail, pushing the second in command of the demons away. He turned towards him and avoided a few demons attacking him.

"That green dragon is mine," Gratos ordered.

The demons left him alone.

Jackknife charged with a war cry, pointing his blade forward. He aimed at the chest, but the sword pushed his head away. He dodged a few attacks before he jumped away. He jumped in the air and avoided more coming at him. He spread his wings and took some distance to recover a little. He checked on his buddy and he was doing fine under the watch and protection of the darkness dragon. He focused on Gratos and blocked the few attacks coming at him. The green dragon already knew it wouldn't be an easy fight. That demon still lost some of his power and fighting capacity, but not to the extend of the others. He was surely extremely powerful when he was at his peak.

He remained on the defensive and focused on blocking anything coming at him. He had no opportunity to strike and it was best not to create one, it would be too costly for him. He had to bite his patience and wait. The battle wasn't going to his side, but he didn't let himself get dominated as he blocked anything coming at him. The shock of the sword on his blade helmet resonated in the barrier.

It got the attention of Tasuku who already knew that it was a different fight than the other demons.

"Go Tasuku! I'll hold them off. Help Jackknife!" Demios said as he pushed a few demons who ganged on him. He swung his sword with everything as darkness covered the blade. He sent the demon away and left them crying or begging for mercy. He charged at the next one.

The boy went to the help of his buddy as he took out a spellcard, "Star Jack Boost!"

Jackknife felt the effect of the spell as his strength increased within him. He never felt the spell on him before. It was a first time, but he used it quickly. He avoided the next attack coming at him and with his long tail, quickly whipped the demon away. He followed by opening his mouth and breathing fire at the demon.

Gratos blocked it with his sword and chuckled, "This is it. This is what I was waiting for! A real fight!" he chuckled joyfully and darkly after those words. He pushed the flame away and went towards the boy. He aimed with his sword, but the dragon blocked it.

"Stay away from Tasuku!" Jackknife furiously grunted before slashing the demon. He barely hit him, but it was enough to push him away.

The second in command put his hand on his chest and chuckled once again, "Pain. How long haven't I felt it? You two. I am barely starting you know," he began to release some dark smoke out of his empty eye sockets as he approached them, "I only used my full power against that Dragon Omni Lord. This time, I will use it on you. Try and not die too fast," he quickly charged.

The spell wasn't enough for Jackknife who couldn't block it. He felt the cut on his arm and winced. He dodged the next one at the last second. The third one was blocked, but the strength pushed his head upward.

Tasuku quickly took out a spell, "Darkness Dragon Shield!"

A shield of darkness blocked the next attack of the demon.

Gratos dashed around the shield and aimed at the boy once again.

Tasuku rolled on the ground and the sword passed near him. He was kicked on the back and was sent in the air.

"Tasuku!" Jackknife flew towards the boy and caught him, "You're okay?" he watched the bone demon.

"I'm fine," the boy used his buddyskill and flew by his side, "But I might get a bruise from that."

"Sorry," the green dragon apologised. He flapped his wings twice and charged at the demon, the blade on his helmet forward.

The charge wasn't a success, but neither a failure. None of them hit each other's. Their weapons only collided on one each other's. The dragon slid on the ground and quickly turned around and blocked the next attack. He dodged a few more attacks and countered with his tail.

The skull monster jumped above it and countered with his sword, damaging the back of the green dragon.

The Omni Lord continued to observe the fight. He saw Tasuku using another spell to protect his buddy and grabbed another one to counter attack Gratos. He crossed his arms and gazed at the two children. He did notice some similarities between them, Tasuku and Sofia. He won't say anything about it and focused on the fight. Everything was going well, except for Jackknife. It was better than he expected.

"Can they win?" the girl asked her brother.

"Looks like we have a chance," Variable Cord commented before the boy, "It depends with how long Jackknife can resist against Gratos. The others are destroying the demons and they don't seem to be in trouble even with so many of them coming at him."

The girl nodded a little reassured that the others had a chance.

Sofia and Paruko casted offensive spells and sent a few more demons away. They pushed any of them coming at them and their buddies.

The two looked around and saw less and less demons were ready to continue fighting. Some of them were unconscious while others were whining on the ground.

Shido casted his next spell and a few demons were crying by the impact and explosion.

The battle of the monsters against the demons wasn't a problem. Demios finished a few more of them with one swing and panted a little. He looked at the demons coming at him.

They were hesitating a little as they knew how powerful the darkness dragon was.

He waited for them to come. His fingers played with his large sword and prepared his next attack. He saw the gulped and sobbed quietly as they saw him coming. He charged and with one attack, he sent them on the ground. A few were whining for a while as the dragon put his sword on the ground and whined.

Gallows finished a few more of them with his claws, "Still crying? You didn't make me cry when you did this to my face!" he took out his bandage and showed the deep scar on his face, passing over his eye socket where the purple eye would never shine again, "Now, it's pay back time!" he charged as the remaining yelled fearfully as he defeated them with a few claws and with a few punches. He also hit one of them with his bone tail and stopped. He panted quietly as he smirked. It felt good that he could beat them. It was something he waited for a long time, "Buddy. We won't hide from them anymore. We will make them pay for what they did to Japan," he chuckled before he let out a quiet Sha. He surprised himself after he said that, but made no comments about it.

"Sure," the man replied as he casted another spell and sent more of them away. The past would change and they wouldn't live in fear of Yamigedo. They had to get them back to the past.

"Even if nothing changes Shido, we showed them what we can do. They will fear our return," Gallows declared.

The man wasn't ecclesiastic about it, as Yamigedo was still looming at the horizon.

Jackknife and Gratos battle continued.

Tasuku remained at a safe distance and casted spells to protect his buddy from any attacks. The boy tried to summon the power of the Future Force, but it wasn't working right now. It was their best bet, but no power came to him. His hair remained the same length than before. It was something he didn't understand. He mastered that power and shouldn't have any problem. He didn't ask the why and focused on supporting his buddy while staying on the side. He shouldn't get in the demon's range. He knew his buddy might get hurt by protecting him.

Jackknife avoided more attacks coming at him and countered with his blade. He strike a few times and never hit the skull demon. He jumped back when the other one tried to counter attack him. He slid on the ground before he let out a war cry and charged.

Gratos charged once again and slashed with his sword. He lost his balance when one attack was strong and rolled on the ground to avoid it. He jumped back and followed by a black flip, landing on his feet. He blocked more attacks coming at him. He noticed that the thing he was hiding in his armor was starting to come out of his armor. He tried to put it back in, but the assault of the green dragon was relentless. The skull demon frowned and blocked more strikes at him. He blocked a few mores and jumped to the left. He rolled on the ground and countered with his sword. He hit the chest of the dragon, but the wound wasn't deep as the Star Dragon armor was really solid.

Jackknife grunted as he felt the blood inside of his armor. He ignored it as he tackled the demon and sent him away. He spread his wings and flew in the air. He prepared to charge at the second in command of the demon army. His attack missing and felt pain on his back. He kept the focus and flew back in the air and turned around.

Variable Cord began to wonder if it was time to take action. He knew that Gratos was still extremely powerful. He carefully observed the demon and prepared to change form. He couldn't let Jackknife or anyone else died. He was an Omni Lord and he wouldn't let any demons coming at him. He wanted to take out his Omni Lord Emblem. He was ready to use it. He saw something and decided to push it aside.

Demios charged with his large sword and slashed at Gratos, "I think this is enough for you. You are soon going to end up alone!"

Gratos chuckled, "And I am enjoying our battle. You are welcome to join!" he pushed the large sword away and slashed the gut of the darkness dragon. He spun and kicked him on the wound.

The darkness dragon painfully grunted as he took a few steps back and dodged another attack.

Jackknife charged and attacked from behind. He hit the back of the demon, but couldn't follow up.

Demios blocked the demon's counter attack with his large sword and followed up with a kick.

The two dragons were relentless in their offensive. They never let up and made sure to strike as many times as they could.

Gratos grunted as he got more and more wounds as the two dragons were too much for him. He tried to ignore the pain, but it was too much. He saw a few spells coming at him when the dragons were far from him. He had little choice to do if he wanted to win the battle. He noticed that the necklace came out of his armor. He grew nervous as what would happen if it was damaged or broken.

Jackknife and Demios charged and yelled loudly. They slashed with their blades. The blade on Jackknife forehead hit right on the strange item that came out of his armor and broke down.

Gratos watched in horror as the object that looked like Yamigedo seal was broken. He jumped backward as he couldn't look away from it.

The other demons noticed it too.

"W-what is that?" one demon asked.

The second in command of Yamigedo demons yelled, "What have you done? You broke it! He is coming!" his hands were shaking as the others looked at each other's in confusion.

Tasuku shivered as if they accidentally released something extremely dangerous.

Suddenly, the barrier that trapped them in broken in pieces. Everyone turned around and saw Yamigedo near them.

"Tasuku!" Demios and Jackknife yelled as they quickly flew by the side of the boy.

The group watched the Great Fiend. The orange eyes were shining brightly, even more than anyone could expect.

"We have to get out of here!" Paruko yelled fearfully.

Yamigedo gaze turned towards Gratos.

The demons yelled a few incomprehensible things and they quickly ran or flew away.

The others listened to Paruko and they all grabbed those who couldn't fly and escaped. Tasuku turned around as he watched. He was surprised that the Great Fiend was ignoring them and focused his attention of the skeleton demon.

Gratos gulped loudly as he took a step back, "M-Master Yamigedo. You have to understand. He was holding you back! I had to get rid of him! N-no!" he saw the eyes of the fiend darkening, "D-don't!"

Yamigedo yelled loudly and furiously. He then bit a part of the structure with Gratos with it. He ate his demon and gulped everything down. After this, his face gazed at the sky, slowly looking lifeless. It was as if there was nothing driving the giant monster.

Tasuku stopped for a few seconds. Jackknife turned back as he checked if Sofia was holding on, "What is it Tasuku?"

"He's…" he pointed at the Great Fiend.

The monster standing there and yelled something no one could understood. Then, it walked away.

"We should join the others. We don't know how long before Yamigedo might try something," Jackknife replied.

The boy nodded and they left.

Far away from their previous location, the group stood together as they talked a little more.

Jackknife listened to Variable Cord explanation about how to give some of his energy to return to their present time.

Demios stood on the side and gazed at the Omni Lord. He said nothing, but he was carefully watching the golden dragon. Something about the giant dragon was bothering him, but he couldn't put his claw on it yet.

Tasuku spoke with Shido, "Thanks for your help. If it weren't for you, I wouldn't be able to help Jack."

"No problem. I'm glad we could help you this time," the man replied with a hint of guilt in his voice.

"What do you mean?" Paruko asked while her buddy was recording them.

"That's simply because we failed to help you in the past," Gallows replied without adding too much detail about it. It was obvious the darkness dragon was withholding some information.

"What do you mean?" Sofia asked as she remembered the tombstone of her, "Is it because Jackknife died?"

"It's more complicated than that," Shido gazed at the two children.

The pink-haired girl looked at them more carefully, "You know, when I look at them, I find like there is a little something familiar with them."

The man let out a small smirk and replied, "They are the children of my best friend."

"Mom, dad and his buddy died when they saved us," the girl replied sadly.

"His buddy was a green dragon like him," the boy pointed at Jackknife.

The dragon in question heard that and turned towards the children.

Gallows sighed, "To be direct, they are the children of you Sofia and Tasuku."

The two in questions looked at each other's as their face turned red. They couldn't believe something like that might even happened. They were enemies last year in the battle between Azi Dahaka and the Buddy Police Forces to stop a plan to invade the Earth.

"It's the true. Don't ask me how, it's too far away. Just that with everything going on with Yamigedo, many of your friends killed by demons or by disease… We ended up with just us together," Shido scratched the back of his head, "Sofia and , we friendzone each other's, so it had to be you."

"Yup," Gallows nodded as he played with his claws.

The two young children looked at them and said nothing. It was obvious they couldn't believe that Sofia and Tasuku could be their parents as they were too young.

"For real?" the young boy asked.

"Yes," the man replied.

"Oh my god," Paruko slapped her cheeks as she heard those words. She had a small smirk at the two who felt in love in that future.

"Since we are here talking about it, how did you lose your arm?" she pointed at the spot.

"A demon bit it and ate it."

That wasn't something pretty at all.

Variable Cord said, "We are ready to leave."

"You should go now," Shido put his hand on the shoulders of the children he had to take care off, "And change the past. This isn't a future worth living for children like them or anyone else."

"Mom… dad?" the kids asked.

"We… aren't your parents. We are too young," Sofia managed to reply. It was weird to meet their children in the future.

Tasuku sighed and looked at the man, "We are going to change the past. I don't know what will happen with you, but we will prevent all of this."

The man nodded, "And thanks for helping us. Those demons are surely in disarray now. We will take out change to move elsewhere. There is nothing for us in this city anyway."

"That's right. We managed to scare them all thanks to you. Sha. Sha," Gallows chuckled with his usual Sha, one he stopped in that broken future.

"We are ready to leave," Variable Cord declared as combined his power with Jackknife.

The group approached them and they would soon return to the past. Sofia and Tasuku looked at each other's, knowing what they did in the future. They lightly blushed as it was only a possibility. The light shined as they were brought back to the present.

When the group reappeared, they were on the roof of a skyscraper in the middle of Tokyo.

"Not a bad destination we got for the present if you ask me," Variable Cord concluded.

Jackknife was painting and grumbled, "This… is asking a lot. No wonder you couldn't do it again."

"We will need to give a really big report to Commander I with everything that happened in the future." Tasuku suggested.

"That's right," Demios remembered that part.

"Takosuke recorded as much as he could," Paruko told them.

"Takochu!" he showed his camera proudly.

"That will ease us a little in the paper work Tasuku," the darkness dragon told his buddy. At that thought, he knew everything would come to an end. The many days they had together would soon be over. He scratched his cheek as he thought deeply about it.

"Right. We should go now," Tasuku said as he activated his buddyskill and flew in the air.

"And about everything I told you about my mission. Please do not share it with everyone else. Our lives are at risk if this spread."

The Omni Lord wondered what was going on as the girl said that.

"We won't," Paruko promised.

"It won't be in the report. It is for the best," the blue-haired boy replied.

Sofia gazed at them and replied, "Thanks. Anyway, since I am no longer necessary. I will make my leave. I have a report to give to Kyoya and Azi Dahaka too. It was a close one and… thanks for saving me," she told them before teleporting away with her card.

The group was alone and watched the empty spot where the silver hair girl was.

"Let's go," Tasuku flew in the air. Paruko held on Jackknife back while her buddy and the green dragon followed them to the Buddy Police Force Headquarters.

Variable Cord was the last one to join them. He looked at the city before following them.

At the headquarters, the group landed at the entrance and they walked in the building. They went in separate elevators.

Tasuku let out a large smile as Jackknife was by his side. He put his hand on the neck of his buddy, just to remember that it was all real.

Demios looked at them with an inexpressive face. He knew that it was what he promised to do. It was for Tasuku's happiness. Still, the bond he had with the boy was there. He was a little jealous, but he wouldn't ruin it for selfish reason. His tail bounced on the ground. He looked at the boy and his father figure, Jackknife, and made a decision. Just thinking about it would worry him now. He faced many demons and what could happen to the boy made him nervous.

Once the elevator was opened, the group entered in the room and gave their report to Commander I, Stella and Count Dawn.

"And that's pretty much what happened. We also recorded many things," Paruko let out a small smile.

"Takuchu!" Takosuke pointed at it.

"Thank you. It will help to know what Yamigedo might do in the future," Stella said as she downloaded the files from the camera. She registered it in the computer and checked on it, "Everything is good. We will study it later."

Commander I nodded and continued, "This is very worrisome if everything ends that way. Still, from what you said, Yamgiedo behavior seemed strange. He is much more active in our time."

"That might be because he had no drive now that he defeated every Omni Lords," Variable Cord raised his hand and added, "We don't know what he was thinking."

"I'm not sure," Demios replied as he turned towards Variable Cord, "There is something wrong with Yamigedo attitude. Even if he had no drive, he wouldn't just stand somewhere without moving. When Jackknife broke something, Yamigedo came and eat his second in command of the demons," he crossed his arms.

"Even so, the future is currently written to be in ruin. That is because we didn't try to eliminate Yamigedo, but tried something Tenbu is planning," the Omni Lord said.

Count Dawn asked, "And what might that be?"

Demios didn't like what Variable said at all. He didn't say anything. He knew it was better to express his thought and opinion outside of that golden dragon in disguise ears.

The group continued with the report. It was mostly adding more details on their journey into the future. As the group talked more about the future and the Star Dragon in human form said, the darkness dragon grew more suspicious.

"By the way, how is going to the future work?" Demios asked.

Variable Cord gazed back at the other dragon and replied, "It's simple. We are traveling in time to reach the future."

The gtay dragon noticed a hint of hesitation before the word future said, as if there was something else hidden.

"Anyway, this is pretty much everything that happened. Traveling back to the present is exhausting and Jackknife is also feeling the same way."

"Yeah," Jackknife agreed. He felt drained out. Still, he found it worth it as he was with his buddy. He looked at the boy and smiled. It feels good to be together once again, he thought. The dragon hoped there won't be a third separation.

"If there is nothing else, you are dismissed," Commander I said as he scratched his jaw.

"I would like to have a conversation with Azi Dahaka and Kyoya in the future. There is something they are doing and I rather be certain of what it is," Count Dawn played with his triangle beard.

The group split as they took the elevator. The door closed and it went down.

Demios decided to keep quiet about everything until they were far enough from the Omni Lord. He was still grumbling quietly.

"What is it?" Jackknife asked, frowning lightly.

"There is a lot in my mind. I'll tell you later," the darkness dragon replied.

"Sure," the boy nodded.

The three left the Buddy Police Force Headquarter.

The group reached the apartment and went inside. The boy and the two dragons walked into the kitchen. The monsters stomach grumbled loudly.

Tasuku chuckled as he said, "I'll prepare something for us."

"I'll help," Demios said as he followed the boy.

The green dragon grumbled and followed them, "I'm hungry enough to help you, even if I'm tired."

They prepared a quick diner and they ate together. They were munching their diner.

The darkness dragon decided to break the silence, "Tasuku. There is something important I need to tell- Two important things to tell you."

"W-what is it?" the blue-haired boy replied.

"First. It's about many things Variable Cord has said," Demios began.

"You found something a little weird too?" Jackknife asked.

The child was confused as he gazed at them, "What's going on?"

"Tasuku. I am the leader of the Purgatory Knight. In order to maintain orders in the Darkness Dragon World, you need to be able to see and rat out any monsters who might want to spread chaos. You have to know which one is a liar and which one is honest. It's very difficult, but father taught me well."

"You think he's lying?" the green dragon asked as he finished his diner.

"Yes. They are many things I find suspicious about him. When he spoke about time traveling, there is something that is itching my scales for some reasons."

"Elaborate," Jackknife asked.

"When he talked about traveling to the future, there was something he was omitting. Like he wanted to avoid saying something before he finished his sentence. There might be something there, but I don't know what."

"Maybe you are just imagining it," Tasuku replied.

The green dragon nodded negatively, "I don't think Demios is the type of dragon who imagine things."

"There is another thing Tasuku. When we spoke about Yamigedo acting strange, he just brushed it off rather quickly. He said that it is the failure of Yamigedo plan. Why would he say that?" the darkness dragon asked.

"I… I don't know," the boy thought. He now saw that there was something suspicious going on. He scratched his jaw and looked at his buddy, "Anything else?"

"Not now," the darkness monster replied, "Not about that anyway. The other thing I wanted to talk about was about our Buddy thing."

"Yeah. Jack is back and you helped me a lot," he bowed to him.

"I really appreciate you watched over my buddy Demios." Jackknife let out a hint of a warning, a possessive warning.

"What I want to ask is important Tasuku. With everything going with the demons and Yamigedo to that fearsome future where I wasn't there for you. I've been thinking about it. Tasuku, you are the only human I believe I can truly connect. Not like Jackknife of course, but another way," he gazed at the side as he wondered how to spell that. He pushed it aside and went on, "Tasuku. I want to remain your buddy. I want to be by your side and Jackknife to fight against the demons and fight the injustice on your world."

"You what?" Jackknife yelled surprise.

"I want to stay with you as your buddy Tasuku. For me, you are the only buddy I can have. I also want to be here with you. To protect you by Jackknife side," he put his hand on his chest, "Because I will never let a future where you are dead and I couldn't do anything to help you."

The boy was quiet at that and scratched the back of his neck a little nervous. He gazed at his buddy.

The green dragon crossed his arms as he grumbled as he formulated his answers. The Purgatory Knight was honest with his words and he couldn't disagree with it, "I have… no problem. Not big enough for concern. I also want to protect Tasuku, no matter what. Which means enduring you."

"Then you can stay Demios," the boy lightly smiled, "We will need your help against Yamigedo and his army."

"Also finding out what Variable Cord is hiding," the dragon concluded.

"Right," he replied.

After eating, the trio went to sleep. The blue-haired boy was a little confused when the two dragons in SD form were snuggling him a little. He gazed at them and lightly chuckled as he pat their head, slowly falling asleep.
