"You don't forget the face of the person who was your last hope." - The Hunger Games

Elisabetta's Pov

I can feel my blood boiling in anticipation of this pig's flesh. I want it… I want it! Just as I was about to do the finishing blow…

"Knock, Knock"

I stopped midway with the dagger. Everything was silent. I can hear the whimper of this pathetic little girl. I covered her mouth immediately.

"Knock, Knock"

It went again but this time someone answered. "My Queen! I have news! Grave news!" The person spoke. My ears perked up at this. It sounded like a male servant. I looked back at Lyall in disgust. "Keep quiet if you know what's good for you." I whispered to her. I sat up straight, still sitting on Lyall's lap."Then state your business. I'm taking care of the young child." I replied calmly. "My Queen… I cannot speak of this through the door. May I enter?" The person asked. I jumped straight off the bed and off Lyall and raced to the door.

"No you may not! The young child is not well and is indecent! State your business here or begone!" I answered angrily. I did not want anyone else interfering into my business.

"My Queen, this news is much to grave…" he whispered in despair. I sighed in frustration. "Then meet me in the grand hall… we will discuss this… news." I said in a cold voice. "Yes My Queen." He said. I heard his footsteps walking away from this room. I bowed my head and wiped away my hair from my face. Smearing blood onto my pale skin. I took a deep breath. Smelling blood, must, and sweat from the room. I breathed out and turned to look at my work.

Iona was laying down with mist eyes staring up into the ceiling. Her stomach was wide- open. Entrails pouring out like a jack in the box. A cord was trailing down between her legs and at the end of that cord was a little infant. Flushed pink with a small button nose and tiny hands and feet curled up into a ball. Eyes never opening… it was dead. Locked in an eternal slumber along with its mother. Iona was covered in blood, her gown once shiny and lush was torn to pieces and splattered with blood. I smirked at what I had done. Not feeling one bit of remorse.

I slowly looked over at Lyall. Her body shaking in fear and illness. My husband's lover, his blind angel… I despise her! I contemplated killing her here and now but… I'll let her wait and think she is safe. I laughed a little and left the room with the smallest click of the door. I stood at the door and looked at my right and saw a quivering servant girl hiding behind the wall that leads to the entrance hall. "You!" I shouted. She flinched at my tone and shuffled over quickly.

I didn't care if she saw me in this bloody state. " They already think I'm insane." I thought bitterly. "Make sure you watch over this room. No one enters it until I return." I commanded. The servant only nodded. I walked up to her slowly until we stood side by side. "Disobey my orders and I will make sure my husband has you impaled." I whispered darkly. She whimpered and nodded vigorously. I chuckled and walked past her to my chamber. "Can't go walking around like this now can I?" I thought while humming a wordless tune.

I was wiping off the blood from my face and have my servants run a bath for me. I looked at myself in the mirror in boredom. "I'm not satisfied with this… be still Elisabetta. You will have your vengeance." I lectured myself.

"Your bath is ready my lady." A female servant said. I placed the cloth on to my dresser and opened my jewelry box and pulled out a diamond necklace. I closed the box and faced the servant. She was thin and frail and was completely terrified by me. I walked up to her and grabbed her hand and placed the necklace there. She looked up at me in shock. I smiled. "Keep it or sell it. It's up to you. Just don't tell anyone, if you understand my meaning ~." I giggle while gripping her hand tightly into mine. She winced in pain. "Yes ma'am." She whimpered. I let her go and followed her to the baths.

Once I was clean of any evidence of my recent activities, I went down to the great hall where two seats were stationed. One large and very grand . The other small but elegant. I sat upon my throne. The male servant was below me. I awaited what he needed to say. I was eager to go back and finish what I started. "Forgive me my Queen but will Iona not be joining us?" He asked. "Don't speak of her in my presence! If I hear her name slip past your lips… your tongue will be ripped out." I said calmly . He shivered in fear.

"M-My Queen, an arrow from the enemy has appeared with one of our men…" he started while revealing an arrow with a scroll attached to it. I leapt from my chair and raced down the steps in a frenzy. I ripped the arrow away from him. " My Queen, wait!" He urged while trying to take back the arrow. But before he can touch me two guards seized him.

With trembling hands I slowly let loose the string and let the arrow drop with a clutter. I unscrolled the paper. "Please… don't be what I think it is…" I thought. I read the contents… my eyes blurred with unshed tears. My arms fell limp and the paper flutters to the ground. My fears… came true. Vlad… is dead.

Few tears fell from my face.

"Hehe… HAHAHA!!!"
