"He gave you his snitch?!" Athena yelled in shock and bewilderment. "Oh my god! Oh my god!" she started jumping around the common room as Luna, Ginny, Neville, and I watched her.
"Is she high?" I asked Luna as she replied with a shake of her head. "Drunk?" Luna again shook her head. "Well she has to be on something" I said as Luna shook her head for the third time. "What's wrong with her?"
"I think I know" Ginny said as Athena whispered into Ginny's ear. "Yes I know" she replied to Athena's whispers leaving the rest of us in the dark. "Mhmm I agree."
"Anyone want to fill us in?" Neville asked feeling a bit left out and just wanting to know the gossip.
"Luna, Neville come here" they said pulling them away to my room.
I tried to get up and follow them, but Ginny blocked the entrance to my room not letting me enter. "What? Why can't I come?" I gave her a fake pout crossing my arms.
"Wait out here" she commanded as she shut the door on my face. I threw my hands up with frustration as I put my ear to the door to try to listen in on their conversation.
"Wait" Ginny paused Athena. "Muffliato."
" YOU BITCH" I yelled outside of the door causing the people in the common room to stare at me like I was a crazy person. Sheepishly, I gave an embarrassed laugh as I walked out of the common room. I'll just find other friends to hang out with if they don't want to hang out with me.
I walked to the library where I saw Hermione Granger with a stack of books beside her and a quill in her hand. She was aggressively writing on her parchment as if she didn't write she would die. I walked up to her and sat down next to her, but she didn't notice me and just kept on scrawling on her parchment.
"Boo" I screamed caused her quill to fly in the air and her to scream.
Madam Pince scolded us for being so loud in the library and Hermione looked at me with a disapproving look, but I knew she was trying to suppress a smile.
"You scared me Ally" Hermione said clutching her heart.
"Clearly" I chuckled replaying it in my head. Her face was priceless, I wish I had gotten a picture of it. It made me miss Colin Creevy, the annoying kid that was obsessed with Harry and taking pictures. "So what are you doing?" I asked while leaning over to see her parchment.
She moved her parchment away from me and hid it under her arm so I couldn't read the words. "Secretive huh" I smirked with a suggestive wink. Hermione's cheeks were turning from her olive skin tone to a bright pink, like a plum. Wait plums are purple.
"None of your business" she said continuing to hid the parchment from me, but still writing.
"Writing secret anecdotes to Ron about what you want to do to him when you see him?" I smirked knowing it would get her all flustered. "Or maybe, drawing an image. Showing what you want to do to him?" I chuckled as she turned into a tomato red. "Possibly telling how much you missed his 8 inch won-"
"Okay okay stop" Hermione said in almost a yell as Madam Pince begun to glare at us again. Hermione was trying hold back her giggles which made her feel like a 14 year old school girl again. Adeleine Wood really had no filter. "But how'd you know it's 8 inches?"
"4th year remember?" I asked referring to a little fling Ron and I had, it was nothing serious.
"Oh that" she grit her teeth a bit. Someone's jealous.
"Hermione there's no need to be jealous Ron loves you more than food, well maybe not food, but other things" I said not sounding very supportive at all. "That did not sound right at all."
Hermione laughed at me making her features light up with happiness. Hermione was a beautiful girl, she still is. Ron's lucky to have her. Ron and I was when we were in 4th year and we just had a short fling that lasted about a month until I realized Hermione fancied Ron. So I backed off.
Hermione had finished writing her sweet nothings or explicit drawings to Ron and folded up the parchment in her hand. She stuffed her quill in her bag and the books she had checked out in her bag as well.
"I've got to go drop this off at the owlery, it was nice talking to you" Hermione waved as she made her way to the owlery.
I waved to Hermione and looked at the pile of books Hermione had left there. She wasn't the type of be careless with books so the letter was probably very important.
I sifted through the stack of books that was lying on the table, there was Hogwarts A History which I knew that Hermione read from top to bottom. There was a book about potions which I opened out of curiosity.
"You know you didn't have to research a love potion to make me fall in love with you" the voice she knew all to well said with a charming grin on his face.
"Your pick up lines physically hurt me with how terrible they are" I said in a fake bored tone. I really had nothing better to do so might as well talk to Malfoy who for some reason was still pursuing me.
"You sure your human?"
"I am pretty sure" I nodded with an amused smile toying at my lips. "Why do you always ask me that?"
"Am I not attractive?" he asked facing her. Was he serious?
Draco Malfoy was the most cocky person she knew and had ever heard of. Even he had to know he was attractive. He was extremely attractive, he was probably one of the most handsome men I had ever seen in my life.
Was he just trying to boost his ego? Did he need some ego boost to start off the day?
"Is that a serious question?" I asked confused.
"Yes" he stared deep into my eyes and I laughed.
He looked at me bewildered and confused. I laughed. It was the most hilarious thing that I had ever heard. Tears were brimming on my eyes, begging to be released.
"Why are you laughing?" he asked, the shock still evident on his face. He was confused yes, but now he knew what it was to hear her laugh genuinely even though she was laughing at him. Technically he had made her laugh and her laugh was weird to say the least.
It wasn't one of those high pitched giggles he was used to and it wasn't that she was trying to hide her atrocious laugh. She didn't care who heard her nor did she try to hide the fact that she had a ugly laugh. It was music to his ears.
"I just" I wiped a tear of joy off my cheek. "Your attractive, but I think you know that so why did you ask me that?"
He ignored her question as his mouth drew a smirk, "so you think I'm attractive." He wore his confidence, but on the inside he could have been as giddy as a school girl.
She slapped a hand in his chest. "Just because I think your attractive doesn't mean I'm attracted to you. They are two different things" she clarified.
He felt a twitch in his heart. He wasn't sad, no. Disappointed, maybe.
He was here obsessing over some girl that he barely knew, flirting and putting in so much fucking effort. Usually the women would jump at a chance to be with him so he never had to work for it. He wasn't used to being this way, sure he was charming, handsome, the whole package but for some reason she wouldn't bend to his will.
It honestly made him like her more.
He wasn't to the point that he fancied her. It was more of an infatuation. He was curious. She was waters that he had not yet discovered and he had sex with almost every 8th year in Hogwarts, the straight ones at least or the ones not tied down in a relationship. Unexplored waters that he had yet to explore.
She was different. So different so when he asked her if she was broken or inhuman it was because she didn't jump on him when she had the chance. She didn't succumb to his calculated flirting or timed touches of their hands. He knew it wasn't because he had lost his charm and it certainly wasn't because he was unattractive, but it was just because she simply didn't want him.
How could she not want him?
The audacity.
"Then what is it?" he said more to himself, but I had heard him.
"What is what?"
"Why don't you want me?" he scanned my eyes with his grey eyes that had a blueish coloring on the outsides. He was blatant with the question and straight to the point.
"You want me to want you?" I asked needing clarification.
"Isn't it quite obvious."
"I just thought you did this to all girls" I said completely unaware of the situation.
"Why would I do that to all girls?"
"I don't know, I don't know you. You don't know me, how could you possibly want me?"
"Everyone else wants me."
"If it's not clear, I'm not everyone else" I emphasized. God damn this guy had fucking ego and it was infuriating. "What do you want me to do Malfoy? I'm not some girl that will get in my knees at your command. I'm not some call girl that can come whenever your in need. If you looking for those types of people you have a long list that will come if you just looked at them" I ranted. Damn that felt good. "There are plenty of girls, but I'm not one of them Malfoy. I don't understand what you expect because I barely know you as it is. I look hot in one dress at a party and suddenly you want to get in my pants. I am not one of those people and I don't plan on becoming one of them."
I exhaled and honestly I needed to catch my breath caused I said a bunch of words which I only half remember and I'm tired. The look on Malfoy's face showed me that I left him speechless. It showed me that I wasn't who he thought I was. It honestly made me more proud of myself.
It felt lighter like a huge weight I didn't know I had been carrying was lifted on me. I was tired of the sexualization and the boys that should really watch their mouths.
And in some instance, Malfoy had helped me to get the weight of my chest. The burden I had been carrying. I just needed someone to yell at, someone to take all my shit. To take out my anger on. So in some ways I could have been grateful for Malfoy if he wasn't being an egotistical arsehole at this very moment.
God I needed a nap.
