'Thoughts' "Speaking" Author's Notes/ Bijuu Speaking "Telepathic Talking"

=Chapter 10: Back to Konoha=

The messenger bird flew and flew, through the endless lands, trying to find just a single member of the Orange Flames. I mean how hard could it be?

.

Very.

Very.

Hard.

It's very hard to find one person in the vast shinobi lands, that is until it finally decided, screw the mainland, I'm going overseas.

And so it did. It travelled endlessly through the open sea, crossing many small, peaceful islands. Each island minding its own business with its own inhabitants.

Until it landed on a large island. This island used to be home to a feared civilisation. But it was hunted to death by three of the great nations. It decided to perch in a tree on the island for the night. This island was rich in wildlife, a nice place but eerily silent.

Until, it heard a twig snap. Something was walking under its tree and it saw it. A member of the Orange Flames! Finally! It called in glee and landed on the shoulder of the figure. The figure reached to its leg and to the scroll attached to it.

The figure stroked the birds back before sending it in the direction of Konoha. The figure opened the scroll and quickly scanned over it before tucking it away. "Reverse Summoning Jutsu!"

=Mount Myoboku: Orange Flames Lair=

"It could be a trap."

"Most likely it is but..." Naruto looked around to see the rest of the Orange Flames. "It is also a chance to get Intel on Konoha, as well as to make a proper debut."

"Wouldn't it also be a good time to execute Plan F?" Dragon perked up, finally tucking away his scroll.

"It could be actually. The security would go down a bit," Fuu said, still kind of thinking it's a trap.

"Well, we haven't taken on any missions for a while and taking out some A-Ranked Missing-nin would be quite nice." Bird went back to cleaning his swords once more, ignoring the constant poking of Hare next to him.

"I get to fight someone, so I'm in."

"Well, you think we could try our new contraption though?"

"Yeah! I'd love to see if it could destroy as much stuff as planned!"

"Please Naruto-nii!"

"You guys can... although how do you feel about destroying some of Konoha?"

"Aw hell yes!" Rat, Ram and Monkey's faces lit up in glee at the prospect of blowing stuff up.

"Alright, Dragon. You will be executing Plan F with your team." He received a nod from him before him and his team followed him to get ready. "Fuu-chan, you'll be with me, along with your team." Fuu and her team nodded, still staying behind. "Snake, Boar, Ox. You'll be following our team around to get rid of any ANBU." The silent assassins nodded before setting off. "Now, Team Machine." This earned some confused looks from the three but they brushed it off. "While Dragon and his team execute Plan F, you'll set some explosive tags around Konoha as well as try out your new contraption when the time is come. You are dismissed."

"You really have grown, Naru-chan. The old you would never have been able to do something like this." A green frog stepped out of the shadows, who had just observed the whole thing.

"Yeah, I wouldn't have."

"So, when do you make your appearance?"

"Now." And with that, Naruto hiraishined away in a flash of yellow, orange and red.

'Ah Naru-chan, how much you've grown. You truly are on the way to world peace, with true intentions to the heart and no swaying to the dark side at all. Now, I want some of Ma's cooking.'

=Konoha Gates=

Izumo and Kotetsu were on gate duty. Again. They always were, it was their life.

"Ne, Kotetsu, you think something interesting is going to happen today?"

"Nah, it's too peaceful of a day."

And so they sat there for minutes, hours even, chatting about random things and if something will happen this day until they sensed a chakra signature. A powerful one at that. They looked out to the road and saw a hooded figure.

The figure had a white hood on, with an orange sun and eight tomoes surrounding it. On the shoulders and neck were a small cape, coloured yellow and having more tomoes on it. Two cloaks led down from beneath them, the same orange sun with eight tomoes near the bottom and a thick horizontal bar on both of them, a snake eye slit through it. Beneath those, a cloak, kind of like Yondaime's except the flames at the bottom were orange, yellow and red. Equal distances on the last cloak were Kanji for Fox.

Kitsune: 狐

"Hey Izumo. I win."

"Never mind that... halt! State your business!"

The figure continued walking towards the gate, and as if on cue, ANBU arrived and drew their weapons. A few more jumped out of the bushes and surrounded Kitsune with swords and kunai.

"We said state your business!"

Kitsune said nothing and threw a scroll at Izumo, which the ANBU tensed up at, thinking it was a trap. He opened it cautiously and read the contents of it.

"That is why I am here."

"Alright, follow us, we will get you there unscathed. Kotetsu, inform Rokudaime-sama of our guest." Kotetsu saluted before shunshining off. "Do not resist otherwise we will have to fight you." The ANBU motioned for Kitsune to follow him through the village.

Kitsune nodded before following the ANBU, flanked at all sides with swords and kunai, not specifically aimed at him, still leading him into the village.

A crowd started forming around the streets, making way for the mysterious figure. Many people in the figure's situation would be scared- no scratch that, terrified, in Kitsune's place. Surrounded by ANBU, ROOT and Elite. Surrounded by extremely strong Jonin and in the midst of one of the most influential villages in the Shinobi Lands.

But this person was different. They didn't care about this. They were smirking to themselves.

=Hokage's Office=

Back in his chair, Danzo was watching his ANBU escort the figure. He was still admiring his village. The village he worked so hard on. He felt satisfied from that.

He was ignored for decades for 'weaker' Hokages but after timing it just right, he got the spot. After so much planning, like a bandit, he got what he wanted.

The Pain Attack was the perfect time to strike, where the village was weakened. The Fire Daimyo had summoned the elders and shinobi council to decide the next Hokage. He used his logic and reasoning to fight for the position, along with a certain Mangekyo Sharingan to make his way to the top.

He had transformed Konoha into a powerful Shinobi Village and a hub for trading. And it was all his. And now, someone from a rogue organisation is coming into his hands. If he wanted information, he would get information.

All that was standing in his way of world domination was a group of rogues. A strong group of rogues at that. He was asked and said that he had been watching them for four months and had plenty of Intel on them. But no, he had been watching them for a year and a half now, and he had no Intel on them at all.

All he had were shreds of Intel, no use at all. Danzo, the Shinobi of Darkness, the master of the unknown, the one behind the scenes, didn't know anything about this group of rogues.

He sent a group of his ANBU to scout the Akatsuki, and they returned with boatloads of information. He sent his best Intel gathering group there. He sent them to find about the Orange Flames.

They didn't come back, not a single trace of them.

Not one scroll of information. Not even a whisper from the wind. He never risked any other groups and this is what annoyed him so much. He wouldn't risk normal ninja for fear of discovery and he didn't like living in his shame. He never told anyone about this, not even when the council summoned him. He liked keeping everyone silent and confused.

He was so desperate on information that when the Orange Flames actually appeared from his invite. He never expected it to happen, it was a do-it-or-die or situation for him anyways. And now, his elite ANBU are bringing his enemy to him as he thinks.

Danzo had a smug smile on his face, he was going to get knowledge one way or another.

=Kitsune and the Guards=

Kitsune was led down the hallway of his dreams. Younger, he would have loved to run down this and challenge for the Hokage position, but many people persuaded him not to do it at all. Knowledge was also apart of that, would you rather fight off countless waves of Danzo's goonies or just keep calm and do what they say?

The ANBU led him to the office and opened the large oak doors, revealing the over-the-top office. He took in the information, Danzo at his chair, ANBU every metre or so. A mix of ROOT and normal ANBU anyways.

He turned his eye to Danzo, sitting back in his chair, his two most 'elite' ANBU next to him. He stopped about 5 meters away and stood still.

Danzo looked at the lone person in front of him. He didn't seem too much trouble at all, just a single person. But he knew he was not to be trifled with, if his small reports were correct.

"Welcome to Konohagakure no Sato, I-"

"-am called Danzo, also known as Rokudaime-sama or Hokage-sama to the people here." The ANBU in the room shifted at the change of atmosphere, this person was no joke. Some weapons started unsheathing, wary of the figure insulting the Hokage. "Also known as the Shinobi of Darkness, one of the most powerful shinobi." He said the words with horror, almost mockingly.

Danzo sat up straight. "You? Insult me? In my village?" The ANBU tensed up more.

"I meant that with respect, Hokage. Who hasn't heard of you?" The mocking tone became more prominent in his voice but as to not anger the ANBU anymore, he had to praise Danzo a little.

"Well then, introductions are not over. Since you know who I am... I should know who you are too."

Naruto started tapping his chin with crossed arms, almost as if in thought. "Well I could..." Danzo smirked a little. "But then I'd have to blow this place up..." The ANBU started shifting with fully unsheathed weapons. "With the rest of the gang."

=Few Minutes Earlier=

"Tsunade-shishou, wait up!" The voice of Sakura called out, begging for her master to slow down and wait for them.

"Wait for us too!" Sakura looked round to see some of her friends follow her, Shikamaru, Ino, Neji and Kiba. Sakura turned back once more to see Tsunade now 20 meters ahead of her.

Word travels fast in Konoha. Really, really fast. A mention of a party could travel across the town in under 5 minutes. The old Senju wouldn't give up, she would see this person.

"I want to see this so-called 'Leader' myself," she said, breaking down everything in her way. Tsunade did not want any information to go to waste, or even to be left out of anything.

=Hokage's Office=

The ANBU pointed their weapons at Kitsune and got ready to strike, but instead of being scared, the figure just laughed. "You really think your ANBU could get me? Pathetic. Also, please attack if you want, I really want to blow something up."

Danzo motioned for his ANBU to stand down. "Your bravery. It's good, however respect those in power. It will only get you killed with no respect."

"You're not in power. I'm a rogue, remember? I don't listen to anyone from the villages but I will heed your warning."

"So, what is your name?" Danzo asked again, hoping to get some sort of response.

"Can't say. Do you want me-" The door opened revealing an angry Tsunade, followed by Sakura, Shikamaru, Ino, Neji and Kiba. "-to blow this place up and for you to die?" His voice turned serious and he turned around to see the newcomers.

"So what do I call you then?" Danzo mentally cursed at this person. Why did they have to be so tricky?

"What most people call me. Kitsune."

"Kitsune, huh?" Danzo was still slightly confused at this. 'Does the Kyuubi have a new Jinchuriki?' He turned his attention back to the new intruders, still admiring Kitsune.

Kitsune turned back to look at them as well and took in the information. Since he was missing, he wondered how well they were and he got to see a little of their strength in the exam. Oh, how he missed them, but he ever so wanted to hang out, but alas he couldn't.

"So you're the one that everyone's talking about," Shikamaru pointed out.

Tsunade was looking at the figure, up and down. There was something familiar about the him, but she couldn't pinpoint exactly what.

"Ah, Tsunade, Godaime Hokage, looking for something?"

"Do I know you? You seem awfully familiar..."

"I know you, you know me, we're even. How could you not know the leader of the Orange Flames?"

"Now, now," Danzo interrupted, ignoring Tsunade's remarks. "We must get down to business."

"Ah yes." Kitsune turned his attention back to Danzo. "I got your message, what did you want?" His tone turned serious.

"I, no, we, want to knowledge on you." Danzo's tone also got serious. "You will give us information and we-"

"-will not get information." Kitsune cut him off, finishing the sentence. The onlookers gasped at this, the ANBU tensed up once more. They didn't like it, Danzo didn't like it either. Danzo more, for many reasons. "You think that you can order me around like a little puppy and think I will hand information about me, my comrades and my intentions over to you on a silver platter? You are highly mistaken as you are sitting too high on your own throne of unlimited power."

"You... How dare you!" The ANBU unsheathed their weapons once more as Danzo spat in disgust at Kitsune.

The onlookers were stunned at the guts of this person, their bravery, or just plain stupidity of this person insulting Danzo.

'This person...'

Kitsune started chuckling and it built up into a full on laugh. "How dare I? Is that all you got?" The laugh turned more hysterical, evil even. "Why do I need to tell you about us? You don't own our trust and respect that we can give you any information about us! Not being being rude to your ninja but you have to show us that we can trust you with information and that you will help us reach our goals! That is when we will start to trust you!"

Danzo took this as an opportunity to 'show off' about what he knew already. "Your goal as in the elimination of the Akatsuki?"

Kitsune was not impressed and his demeanour dropped. Danzo felt like he had turned the tables on Kitsune.

"So you have been spying on us..."

"We have found out your goal of the elimination of the Akatsuki. That is your real goal."

Kitsune was silent for a second before he started chuckling more. "Spying on us for a year and half and that's all you can come up with?" Kitsune continued to laugh, his voice starting to turn evil, every time he talked.

Danzo's patience and pride was getting lost second by second, especially with witnesses here. Anger was prominent on his proud face.

Tsunade turned to Danzo, irk mark on her face. "One and a half years Danzo? You said it was only four months!" Danzo didn't look at Tsunade's glare but kept his eyes at Kitsune.

"You kept sending ANBU after us, and where did they go? Back here, memories wiped or gone, never to be seen again. Well think again, because you're not the first village to spy us and they didn't get information either!"

Ino became shocked at this. "Not the only village..?"

Kitsune nodded at her. "Oh, let's see... Kiri, Iwa, Kumo a little bit, Oto, just to say a few names."

Everyone's eyes widened at this, this was unheard of. "But Danzo, you should be proud of yourself, you have more information than them! They all have nothing!"

"Now how do you evade many ninja nations at once?" Danzo started becoming intrigued, he was getting information after all.

"We are not know for a reason."

Danzo was a little concerned from this information. "You cannot be that strong. No one has heard of you, how can it be?" He was getting worried from this information. If he was telling the truth, they were a bigger foe than anticipated.

Kitsune threw something at Danzo, a scroll. One of the ANBU in the room started searching for the scroll in his pocket.

"Trying to find that?" Kitsune pointed at Danzo, who opened the scroll and reading the contents. His eyes widened at it, he had somehow taken a scroll that he had told an ANBU to write down everything that happened.

'How..?' Was their single thought at what happened.

"How?" Danzo was getting more paranoid by the second

"Oh yeah and I should probably give this to you." He chucked something at Danzo. "Look at it later but now, what did you call me here for? I am quite a busy person you know?"

"Ah yes, we would like your assistance in eliminating a group of A to low S-Rank Missing-nin near our border. For some reason, my agents can't seem to get rid of them." Danzo was treading carefully. This guy needed to be taught a lesson in respect, but he was strong enough to grab things secured in a blink of an eye.

"Any information?" Danzo chucked him a folder and Kitsune opened it carefully. He didn't want any Hokage germs on his hands.

"That should give you all you need." Kitsune flickered through it before chucking the folder back at Danzo. "That's all that there is, they are from different regions of the world." Kitsune nodded at this. "So back again, I would still like some info-"

"-No. I cannot trust you." Kitsune pondered for a minute before relaxing his pose. "I would like a squad of 10 members, not any ROOT or ANBU but regular shinobi if you will."

Danzo cursed under his breath, he knew this would happen and he hoped it wouldn't but alas, here he was, infuriated from this punk, having to take orders and getting insulted. He would have to find out more later. He sighed. "Do you have any idea of shinobi that you would like to take? We have a lot of strong 'normal' shinobi such as the Hyuga with their Byakugan and the Inuzuka with their tracker skills."

"We could do with trackers, as we don't have much and I could use a few from each clan. I'd also like a decent leader and obviously, a medic."

"How did you know how our squads are set up?" The lazy genius finally perked up from observing the whole confrontation.

"Yeah, you seem awfully knowledgeable about us yet we don't know anything about you." Akamaru barked in agreement at Kiba.

"Agreed. How much do you know?" Neji activated his Byakugan out of pure instinct but deactivated it quickly after. He had to tell the rest soon.

"Are you deaf? I said I would not give out any information, but anyways to answer your question... it's really simple, I ran into a few of your squads without you knowing and merely observed the situation." Naruto paused for a second. "I accept. I'll be back in about a day with three more members from base so the other people in the group can get ready."

"Aren't they around the area? Surely the leader wouldn't go alone." Danzo smiled internally, maybe he could capture the weaker ones and get some information.

"They aren't close by but they are close enough that if I wanted, I could get them to blow this place up as they are a perfect distance away from here. That is, if you try to detain me," Kitsune answered his question. "Also, I am the leader of the Flames for a reason."

With that insult to injury Kitsune bowed in the worst way possible, annoying the ANBU once more. "This where I go. I am needed at a different place."

"Could we show you to the gate?" Everyone turned to Sakura, who suddenly spoke up.

Kitsune smiled under his hood. He got to spend a bit of time with his old pals. "Sure, I don't see the problem with it!" Tsunade and Sakura started to leave the room, followed by Ino, Shikamaru, Neji and Kiba.

"You four, Yamanaka, Nara, Hyuga and Inuzuka. Stay, no point of you going when I will call you." The four stopped and resumed being bored in the room, not paying attention to Danzo's slowly rising rage at the disrespect he was getting.

Shisui's eye started spinning as he scanned the person to find out. His visible eye widened at the sight, massive chakra from every single chakra point over the body. Where did he get this power?

"Looking for something, Danzo?" Kitsune said it, not even looking back as the large oak doors slammed shut. "Oh yeah, and I know your secret." The faint voice of Kitsune rang in his ears, as he calmed himself down.

"Follow him, find out who Kitsune is and where the group lies." Most of his agents sunk into the ground or sunshined away to find their target. Danzo was hysterical, he would get what he wanted.

=Konoha's Streets=

Still flanked by ANBU, the trio made their way away from the Hokage Mansion and down the twisting streets of Konoha. Word had spread even more about the visitor and many people wanted to catch a peek at this newcomer.

"You must be insane to insult Danzo like that," Tsunade spoke up as they reached the gates.

Kitsune only shrugged at the mention. "He couldn't lay a finger on me, or even scratch the edge of my clothes until he knew about my true power and my comrades' power. He is only a control freak that does whatever he wants to get power."

"You've been spying on him. That's extremely risky, knowing the precautions he takes." It was Sakura's turn to be confused at this.

"He is only a mere person. He sits way too high on his throne of power, but he is much lower than he thinks. We have only been watching him." He paused for a second. "Nothing else."

He looked back into her lime green eyes, not showing any part of his face. He couldn't tell the truth, not now. "I cannot say too much but there is a reason why I am here."

"So eliminating the Akatsuki isn't what your main goal is?" She thought back to the last thing Kitsune had chucked at Danzo, a scroll, but with what inside?

"It is the way to our dream." He looked over into the distance, past the gates of Konoha.

Sakura became curious. "What's your dream?"

He paused outside of the gates. He'd love to tell them all of his dreams but he knew he couldn't say a sliver. "I have many different type of dreams." He continued walking past the open gates.

"Could you tell one dream?" Sakura tried her luck at it. She would most definitely get a 'no' but she tried. "Just one?"

"Well..." He stopped his walking once more, a few meters out of the gate. "I plan to create a safe place and..." He held his breath. "To make peace with my home village."

"Well... good luck I guess!"

He turned around and faced the two. "Maybe, maybe some day, when I can trust this place, I will tell more."

"So... where will you end up going now?" asked Tsunade.

"I will gather my comrades and come back here. I cannot tell you where as that is our command." He turned back and bowed. "I will return tomorrow, midday."

The two medic-nin watched as he walked away from the village before he stopped. He looked into the right tree line, the two nin looked there as well. They couldn't sense or see anything so what now?

One black orb appeared behind his back and floated forward. He turned into a staff, a crescent moon on one end and a circle with six smaller circles attached to it on the other end.

He threw a kunai without warning into the tree line and a thump was heard as a body fell to the ground. Out of nowhere, random attacks came out, aimed for Kitsune.

"This may affect our alliance, Danzo."

More bodies fell to the ground as the jutsus still fired. Kitsune smirked under his cover as another black orb appeared, forming a shield around him. The jutsus hit it, but did no damage as there were no marks at all. It faded away, leaving Kitsune with his staff still in the hand.

"I will see you at midday."

He raised his hand up in thanks before disappearing in a flash of yellow, orange and red.

.

.

.

But no one noticed it was a cover as he poofed away, out of existence.

=Uzushio Island=

Many miles away, on top of a hill sat Naruto, hood down and blond hair, with streaks of red, waving in the wind. The rest of the group stood behind him and tensed up as he opened his eyes.

He had received his clone's memories and he smiled.

"Mission complete. Now it starts." He never turned round to his allies as they disappeared into the air.

So... How'd I do? Good? Bad? Awful? Trash? Amazing? Tell me!

If you have any suggestions, let me know and I'll incorporate them if I like them!

Woooh! Well... If you get a bit of déjà vu from reading another story, I don't blame you. I'll admit it, I used Shi_Kira's Missing-Nin... story as a template for this as I really liked it, but if needs be, I'll change it.

And that's all for now!

See you later: Ja ne!
