Evening. This was the time of day where everyone seemed to chill out. Most of the chaos played out this morning and it was finally evening. By now, it felt weird to have a chaosless evening. It was almost too good to be true!
The group sat together in the main room. They had TV, lunch, and beverages. Talking was greatly encouraged as they watched their movies. They were just having fun. Just like they used to do before all of...this.
Hazel watched the television attentively. This was the climax of the movie. There was no way she would miss anything that the scene displayed. Freddie, who was sitting on her right, looked the same way. So did Uma, who was sitting on her left. Deuce envied everyone else who was not sitting beside the cuddling couple, AKA Chirpy and Pinky. He really regretted his choice in seating. Other than that, everything was fine.
While everyone was distracted, Terra casually strolled in as she stayed silent. She tilted her head at the TV before noticing Hazel and smirking. Her eyes narrowed in thought and she rubbed her chin before she began to slowly approach the girl from behind.
Hazel took no note as she eyed the screen. The only thing she did do was adjust her sitting position due to the intense cinematic scenes. She was nearly on the edge of her seat in anticipation.
Terra inwardly chuckled as she approached her and reached the couch. Taking a moment to evaluate how she was going to do it, she tilted her head and pursed her lips before deciding to wait a few more seconds.
As the movie came closer to its end, Hazel smiled as her favorite protagonist took over the spotlight. After a few moments, Triple G jumped up and said, "Gah! Bathroom break!" Before blasting down the hall.
Freddie smiled. "More space for me!" She said before scooting over and enjoying the free space.
Hazel didn't mind the extra wiggle room at all. She took a deep breath as she adjusted to the extra room. Of course she was still at the edge of her seat. The movie hadn't ended yet.
Terra poked her head up from behind the couch and smirked before nodding to herself and teleporting to the sudden space that had been freed up beside Hazel. Acting like nothing was wrong, the woman casually slung an arm around Hazel's shoulders before stealing a kiss.
Not expecting this at all, Hazel's eyes widened before they changed into many different hues; the dominant one being magenta. The ruby haired woman remained still out of sheer surprise until the kiss ended.
Hazel looked at Terra with pure surprise. "...W-Wha-? I-um...h-how did you g-get there? W-where did you c-come from?" She asked while her face became redder and redder.
"I walked in and noticed an opportunity," Terra said innocently with a blink.
So much for the movie. Now Hazel could barely concentrate at all. Only her recharged emotions. "An...opportunity? T-T-Terra...I was trying to watch a m-movie…" She said, blaming Terra for her lack of focus.
"I didn't think it would cause you to lose focus," Terra replied with a small shrug.
Hazel sighed. "Well...I guess you're okay." She said, playing with her fingers. "Just...sit back and watch the movie. You can do that...right?" She winced at the last part.
Terra leaned back before casually bringing the girl closer in an attempt to cuddle. "Sure…" She said, smirking slightly with mischief in her eyes.
Hazel had been awkwardly readjusted by Terra and is now trapped within a cuddle. Hazel looked to the movie in exasperation now that she could not focus on a single thing. The only thing she could focus on was how warm and comfortable Terra was.
It's time to go. "...Umm...I t-t-think that was e-enough of the movie f-for me…" She stuttered before trying to escape the cuddle.
Terra shook her head. "Aw, but I thought you were enjoying it." She said innocently, not letting the girl escape.
Hazel nervously smiled at that. "Yeah...but it's nothing. I know many ways to see it again." She said, still trying to find an escape.
"But isn't this the ending or something?" The bluenette asked, clearly holding back the urge to try and steal another kiss.
Hazel nodded before shrugging. "I...uh...yeah? I-I-It's okay, though. I can always...catch it again or...stream it...finish where I...l-left off?" She said the last part like a question.
Terra's eyebrows narrowed at that before she smiled. "What's the point in that?" She asked, promptly placing a kiss on the girl's cheek.
Hazel's blush more than doubled at that action. "I-I-I-...u-u-u-w-w-was...mrph…" She stuttered to the point where she made no sense at all. She could barely come up with words for an excuse.
"Oh, so you...are staying to watch the movie?" Terra asked in amusement with a smile.
Hazel blinked as her magenta eyes looked at the ground. "...I-I-I s-suppose I...could."
"Good. I'd hate for you to have to go through anything extra just to catch the ending." Terra said with a slightly bigger smile as she looked at the TV.
Hazel cautiously glanced at Terra before turning to the TV screen. "...I would r-rather w-watch it n-now. T-that-s all." She stuttered.
Terra shrugged at that and tilted her head at the girl. "I mean, this is the perfect atmosphere to." She said with a chuckle.
Hazel glanced around before nodding. "It is, isn't it? D-do you mind I-if I reach for m-my soda?" She asked Terra, beginning to calm herself the slightest.
Terra levitated the soda over to her before smiling. "There you go."
Hazel smiled as she grasped the floating beverage. "T-thank you." She said shyly before turning her attention back to the movie.
Terra was silent for a moment before she leaned over with the smallest of smiles. Stealing a kiss like she had before, she brought the girl closer into something more like a hug.
Hazel was confused when she leaned over to her. When Terra's lips met hers, she was once again shocked. This time, however, she found herself melting into the embrace and actually returning the kiss that Terra initiated.
After about a minute or so, Terra parted with a soft chuckle. "You are...adorable." She said, booping the girl on the nose before looking back at the movie.
Hazel blinked when Terra booped her nose before smiling shyly.
Freddie, who was sitting nearby, was rubbing her head in agony. "How on earth are you guys getting a romantic vibe! This movie is the exact opposite!" She yell-whispered.
Seraphina was the first to respond back with. "Whooo careees." She said in a lazy manner, instead choosing to focus on the eyes of the woman next to her.
Deuce spoke up (in a whisper). "I care! I care very much!" He protested as Chirpy blushed. "I try to watch a movie and all I see is lip-locking! If you hungry, eat some snacks! We have snacks!" He said as some of the group chuckled at his fit.
Hazel blinked before pointing at Terra. "She started it." She smiled while she teased.
"What can I say? It's hard to not do it when she is so adorable." Terra said with a smile.
Seraphina nodded. "Preach it, sister!" She declared, waving her fist around.
CJ rolled her eyes from her spot on the floor. "How about we just watch the movie." She said in exasperation as she shook her head.
"You can watch it, I've got my eyes on something else," Seraphina replied with a giggle.
Chirpy smirked at that before trying to see the TV. "Pinkypop, I'm trying to see the movie myself. I barely got to watch it as is." She said with a chuckle.
"We can catch up on it later," Seraphina said with a smirk.
"But I don't want to catch up on it later." She smiled at her, still trying to focus on the screen.
Seraphina pouted a bit at that before moving her head back just a bit. "Is that good?" She asked, clearly not liking the fact that she had moved her head.
Chirpy glanced at Pinky with a grateful smile. "Better." She said, cuddling up to Seraphina and wrapping the woman's arm around her waist.
Chester looked at the two of them dryly. "I really need to consider assigned seats…" He grumbles to himself.
"It wouldn't help…" Seraphina said, looking like she was on cloud nine at the moment.
Chester raised an eyebrow at that. "What is the purpose of...love? That has to be one of the most useless emotions. You can survive perfectly fine without it." He said, absolutely confused.
Heidi, who had been chilling out from the side in her wheelchair, snorted at the comment. "My dad said the same thing until he met the 'one' at my wedding." She commented before smirking. "Oh, and a partner saves you from depression, bud. It has been confirmed with two individuals already."
Chester looked to the side before saying, "With the depression. Sure. That is scientifically proven, but it varies from couple to couple." He put a paw behind his back as he walked over to get his drink. "However, you can remain alive without finding a 'one'. It doesn't seem like a requirement for basic life."
"True. You can remain alone for the rest of your life, my aunt Hestia would confirm that, but there is something in light magic we like to call the 'soulmate bond'. Basically, you and your soulmate, be it friend, lover, or rival, are closer than any other beings in the known universe. Those are strictly magic related though." Heidi said with a small shrug. "Take it from someone who's teacher was a magic nutcase, there is a lot you don't know about when it comes to magic and relationships."
He shrugged as the corner of his lip rose a bit. "Be that as it may. It still doesn't sound all that great." He said as he went back to his seat.
Uma spoke, still staring at the movie. "Translation: what's the big whoop?" She sipped her soda without looking at them.
Heidi looked at the cat. "You just haven't comprehended love or the true meaning behind it. Kind of like Athena who instead married her mountain of books. She has far too much knowledge to think about her own emotions and how one could support her with said emotions." She told him with a small smile.
Chester nodded at that. "I suppose that makes logical sense." He blinked before his phone rang. "Ah… I have to take this…" He said before slipping down the hall.
Triple G groaned. "There goes Chess' phone. I forgot that we have to start getting back to work." Every single group member groaned at that.
"And that's the benefit of my business being online and under the care of my father's demons," Heidi said in a casual manner. "Not like I need the money." She mumbled out the last part as she pulled out her phone.
JR, who had been pretty calm, said, "Don't get me wrong. We love our jobs. It's just that the music industry can get a little overwhelming sometimes." He explained before reaching for his soda, instead causing a decorative glass cup to fall on his foot. "...ouch." He said, glad that at least the cup wasn't broken.
Heidi nodded at his explanation. "Yeah, I get the whole music business thing. After I properly trained my father to shred a guitar, we expanded into the rock and metal music genre." She said with a small shrug. "My dad's secret dream is to be this massive rock star...mainly so that he can get a following when he tries to kick my uncle off the throne again."
CJ blinked at that. "That's not weird at all." She said with sarcasm.
"It's weird. He's telling his fans to treat him like their god and become a cult." Heidi replied dryly, shaking her head. "He's been trying hard to alternatively rule the world."
"Very weird," George stated.
"Completely," Chirpy said in agreement. "I have to admit. It is very creative."
Heidi chuckled in looked at them. "It's because there are many promising an ass-kicking if he tries to overthrow Olympus the old fashion way, myself and his wife included." She told them. "So...he's been trying to work around it...no matter how ridiculous his plans are or how long they would take."
Triple G nodded before chuckling, "You've got to admire his persistence!" He smiled as the movie finally ended.
"No kidding. He has been trying...since he got the Underworld handed to him when he drew the short straw. So...4,000+ years?" Heidi tilted her head, noticing Kam appear in the doorway out of the corner of her eye.
Freddie looked at Heidi. "Well...at least there are some good qualities that are not too hard to see." She said with a chuckle, picking up a few snack crumbs.
"Well, he's also great at whipping up hellish training regimes. Mine was...set Maleficent's house on fire after the divorce went through." Heidi said, looking up in thought.
JR blinked at that. "...Interesting."
Trip scratched the back of his head. "Isn't it though?"
CJ chuckled. "Talk about killing two birds with one stone." She smirked.
Heidi chuckled at that. "To be fair...She threw him out on the day of Mal's birth 'cause he wanted to train her as a demigoddess. Maleficent called his powers poison and he yelled before dragging me out. Later on is when he told me to set her porch aflame." She explained with a small smile.
JR was about to say something before he noticed Kam at the door. "...Hey, Kam. Did you...uh...need something?" He tilted his head.
"Hmm...Aside from the fact that I was alerted by the word 'ouch' that you said, no not much. Since you said 'ouch' it is most likely that you injured yourself and here I am to take you away." Kam said with a smirk.
The group blinked in confusion while JR said, "Wait, what?! Take me!? I only dropped a cup on my foot and I'm wearing shoes!" He said in confusion and surprise.
"You can never be too careful," Kam said, zooming over to him before picking him up. "Especially with glass!" She told him, casually making her way to the door like nothing was wrong.
JR looked around as he tried to escape. "I DID NOT AGREE TO THIS! PUT ME DOWN! HEEELP!" He called while he was being carried away.
Uma dryly ate popcorn as the scene played out in front of her. "He'll be fine." She said as she continued on like nothing happened.
"MAKE SURE TO GIVE HIM THE MEDICINE!" Heidi yelled at the top of her lungs.
"GOT IT!" Kam yelled back at the same volume.
Hazel blinked before saying, "Well...that happened and the movie is over so...I'm going to find something else to do." She said as she sat up with a smile.
Terra happily sat up as well. "I can join you." She said with a smile.
Hazel looked at her with amusement. "You don't even know what I'm doing." Her smile increased.
"I can manage with whatever you are doing." Terra said with a chuckle.
Hazel chuckled before saying, "Actually, I think you can help. I was just going to look for Minty."
"Oh, I'd love to help hunt her down." Terra said with a wide smile.
Heidi tilted her head at them. "You might want to check in with Audrey, she's got that princess thing where animals come to her." She said dryly, almost as if something like that had happened before.
Hazel nodded at that. "Will do. Come on, Terra." She said before heading off in that direction.
Chirpy escaped from Seraphina's hold before smiling at everyone. "And I have to start on dinner. I have a wonderful dish in mind. It's hibachi." She said, placing her hands on her hips.
Triple G stood up. "Ooh! I want to watch!" He said eagerly.
Freddie shrugged. "I guess I could. As long as nothing catches on fire."
"As long as y'all are throwing knives." Uma said with a smile as she followed the group that gave her a look of caution.
Chirpy looked back at the still dazed Pinky. "Cherry Blossom! Come on. We're leaving ya." She said with a chuckle.
Seraphina's wings appeared and seemed to be flying on autopilot as the girl was obviously still in the middle of one of her infamous daydreams as her wings carried her after them.
CJ shook her head at that before standing and brushing the dust off of her black and gold pirate coat. She shrugged, seeing that her and Heidi were the only ones left. She pulled out her phone as she began to walk back to her room.
Noticing that CJ was leaving, Heidi went about wheeling after her. "Hey, CJ." She called out in an attempt to get the girl's attention.
CJ blinked at her name before turning to the woman in the wheelchair. She blew a really long strand of blonde hair out of her face as she turned. "Yeah?"
"Wanted to ask you about something. You good to chat for a bit?" The bluenette asked with a small smile.
CJ looked at Heidi for a few seconds. She shrugged then put her phone in her large coat pocket. "...I guess. What's on your mind?"
Heidi gave her a calm smile. "I have been sensing everyone's emotions lately, sort of an unconscious thing really, and I noticed something...off about your emotions. What's going on?" She asked with curiosity.
CJ blinked at her owlishly. "Uhhh...well...umm...heh." She rubbed the back on her arm as she looked away. "Ah...I'm not too good at explaining or...talking about my...emotions." She glanced at her.
Heidi shrugged. "If there is anyone who won't be bothered it's me. Goddess of Emotions. Besides, the other way of figuring out your problem is sort of like being probed." She said in a joking manner as she laced her fingers together.
CJ tilted her head at that. "Hmm...well. I'm not sure. I can tell you. I just don't know how much sense it will make since I suck at this stuff."
"I'm used to it, took my dad a bunch of mumbling and 'Shut it, Heidi' before he admitted that he had a thing for who is now his wife," Heidi said as she relaxed into her wheelchair.
CJ shrugged in unsurity. "Alright…" She grumbled before saying, "I…may...like someone that...I know I have no chance with." She explained to her.
"Despite the fact that you are aware that they are leagues above you...you appear to still have some sort of attachment, no?" Heidi asked in a gentle voice.
CJ folded her arms with a sigh. "Something, sorta, maybe? It's Pinky's fault." She said the last part with exasperation.
"Pinky is usually at fault," Heidi said with halved eyes before shaking her head. "Did you...want something to be done about it?" She asked with a raised eyebrow.
CJ raised an eyebrow. "What do you mean?"
"I can help by removing the undesired emotion for a certain individual from you," Heidi explained with a small shrug as she pulled her ember out.
CJ tilted her head before frowning. "Hm...I don't know. It's not like I'm dying and I have been managing with it." She said with a look of thought.
Heidi tilted her head at her. "I mean...it may help you feel better. Most times I have found that individuals feel freer when they don't have the desire for the unobtainable on their minds." She said with a thoughtful look.
CJ blinked at that. She looked down and thought for a moment before nodding. "Alright." She answered simply.
Heidi pointed her ember at the girl and watched as both CJ and her ember glowed pink before the glow faded from the girl and the energy swirled around the large stone. Heidi pulled the ember close to her and looked it over before absorbing the energy and shrugging as she put it back in her pocket. "There you go."
CJ blinked before smirking in satisfaction. "That's more like it." She said, referring to her mentality. "Never again." She said, referring to romantic relationships in general. She smiled before starting to walk away, "I owe you one, fireball."
Heidi chuckled at that. "All I have to say is...never say never when it comes to romance. It works in the most mysterious and curious of ways." She said with a smirk.
CJ nodded at that. "With someone else? Sure. With me? That's comedic. By now, I am sure that I'm destined to be single." She said with a shrug at the thought.
"If my father, the same man who kidnapped a goddess out of loneliness and later married her, can find love...anyone can. Besides, you think I thought I would put a ring on a princess?" Heidi snorted at that and shook her head. "Not even the slightest."
"Eh...you've always been romantic. Not me. Hades...now that's a kicker." She said, shaking her head in humor. "As for me...I think I'll pass." She said with a smile.
"Just keep saying that...because there is somebody out there that will make you fight that. I should know, I was against long-term relationships." Heidi told her as she began to turn and wheel away towards her room.
CJ looked at her wheel away for a moment as she suddenly looked pretty curious. Is there really someone out there for me? I don't even think that's possible at this point. I'm tired of doing the same thing and I do not want to get trapped in another obsession! Yeah...I'll take a hard pass on the fluffy stuff. I'm a lone pirate. I'm not made for that kind of stuff anyway. She told herself before continuing on to her room as well.
…..
It was the next morning and Heidi was already up, in her wheelchair, and on her phone. While Audrey was chatting with Vetiver, she was busy texting her father who was supposedly transporting Kirby, her dog. There just seemed to be one teeny tiny complication…
"So...Hades said the dog figured out how to take on a human form and was bragging to the entire Underworld when Hecate caught him." Heidi deadpanned aloud, looking up from the phone to look at Audrey.
"He...what?" Audrey said in complete confusion.
"He was...decked out in a lot of gold and was supposedly telling everyone as loudly as possible that he is "King Kirby" and he pretty much is top dog," Heidi explained slowly, prompting Audrey to facepalm.
Vetiver, who had not heard a single thing, mumbled to herself as she swiftly pressed buttons on the Animal Crossing Nintendo Switch Trip got for her. "Come on...stupid Ness…" She pressed buttons harder. "Yes! Get 'em Link!" She chuckled.
Audrey ignored the girl and looked at Heidi. "So...Kirby stole a bunch of gold jewelry, went over to the center of the Underworld, and proceeded to brag about how he was king? Is that what I'm hearing?" She said, not sounding like she believed it.
Heidi's eyes halved. "Yes and Hades is bringing him in the condition in which Hecate caught him. Meaning...'Kid decked out in gold Kirby'." She grimaced and ran her fingers through her hair.
"Oh boy…" Audrey said with a cringe at the thought.
Vetiver jumped up as her team won an online match. "LET'S GO! LET'S GOOO!" She fist pumped before looking around. "Heh...sorry." She said, settling back down and switching games.
Audrey smiled at her. "Don't worry...we were just discussing how Kirby...is being brought in a very...interesting condition." She said as Heidi facepalmed at her.
Vetiver raised an eyebrow before starting her game. "Kirby? The dog I poked to death and got sent to the Underworld, Kirby?" She said before turning her attention to the screen.
Heidi shook her head. "He figured out how to turn his form into a human form, stole a bunch of gold, and proceeded to brag to the entire Underworld how he was the king since Hades and I are absent at the moment." She informed the girl with halved eyes.
Vetiver blinked before she looked at Heidi with amusement. "Oh really?" She smirked.
"Yep...And Hades is transporting him...in that condition." Heidi said, clearly suppressing a yell.
Vetiver's smirk increased. "...Alright then." She said, going back to her game.
The two women shook their heads at her before Heidi looked to the garden. As soon as she had done that, Hades and a boy with dark red hair and yellow eyes who was decked out in leather and gold appeared. Hades looked...beyond pissed as he hauled the boy in by his ear.
"Owow-OW! Is this seriously necessary man? It wasn't even your gold!" The boy said with annoyance, trying to escape the god's hold on his ear as Heidi looked at him with halved eyes.
Hades hauled him in before tossing him at Heidi who casually caught him, before scowling and glaring at the kid. "It may not be mine, but I am the King of Hell...not some pint-sized brat who thinks he runs the place." He said in a grumpy manner, prompting the boy to stick his tongue out in defiance.
Vetiver looked up in amusement before putting her game away using her magic. She chose to sit back and watch the show a bit before saying anything.
The kid looked up at Hades. "Oh, and you are just the old fart who up and left one day!" He fired back, his hair flaming up along with Hades' own hair.
"Old fart? I am a god!" Hades yelled.
Heidi's eyes halved. "Not this again…"
Ignoring his daughter, Hades stomped up and lifted the kid up by his jacket. "You think that since we all left that you run the show, do ya kid?"
The boy shrugged. "You sure ain't running it."
"He's got you there." Heidi deadpanned while Hades shot her a glare.
Vetiver chuckled at the exchange. She used her magic to make a gumball. She smirked at it before using her thumb to propel it up and into her mouth. She chewed happily as she continued to watch the two hotheads.
The kid looked up at Hades. "Besides, what's the big fuss? If you are a god...why you whining about little old me picking up a microphone and saying I'm king? Does somebody feel threatened?" He said in a mocking tone, this time causing both Heidi and Audrey to facepalm.
"...Heidi, unless you want your dog-kid without a soul you better take him," Hades said, absolutely seething at the sight of the grinning boy.
Heidi shrugged. "I didn't sign up for rebellious teenage years." She said, easily pulling the boy into her lap. "You can go destroy something, shoo." She said to her father, prompting Hades to twitch before disappearing in a pillar of fire.
Vetiver carelessly blew a bubble. "Well, that was fun." Before her deep purple eyes looked at the boy. "King Kirby, huh." She said with amusement.
While Heidi gave her a thumbs up and hovered her hand over Kirby's head, Kirby scowled at her. "Yeah, what's it to you?" He asked while folding his arms.
Vetiver tilted her head with a smirk. "Oh? You...don't remember me?" She leaned on one arm, still holding her smirk. "It's a shame 'cause I surely remember you."
"Why would I remember you?" Kirby asked with a scoff. "I am a lone hellhound. Lone hellhounds don't hang with anyone, especially girls." He said with a frown as Heidi rolled her eyes behind him.
Vetiver laughed a bit at that. "I didn't say we were on good terms, puppy." She teased with a chuckle.
"And I didn't say we were on terms at all, girl." Kirby fired back, still not noticing the glowing hands hovering above his head.
"Girl?" She said with a raised eyebrow. "Boy. I am the girl. The name's Princess Vetiver of Rome." Her smirk returned. "If the name doesn't jog your memory then maybe you remember a certain cat with grass fur. Very sharp grass fur." She tilted her head.
"Why would I know a cat? I'm a dog, cats are cats, we don't even belong in the same room, princess." Kirby said, saying the title in a mocking way as he winced a bit for seemingly no reason.
Vetiver rolled her eyes. "You always have been...well...the spoon in the knife drawer. Not too sharp." She shook her head as she stood and prepared to transform.
Heidi slowly lowered her hands in mischief as Kirby rolled his eyes. "Puh-lease! I'm far smarter than you'll ever be!" He exclaimed with a huff.
Vetiver smirked at that. "Keep thinking that. Playing dumb is the smartest play." She chuckled before she changed into her cat form in a flash of light. Her facial features didn't change one bit as she cocked her head to the side.
Kirby stared with irritation. "What am I supposed to be-" He was cut off as Heidi laid her hands on his hand for a minute before she lifted them. The boy blinked before saying. "What is going…" He finally noticed the cat and his eyes widened. "WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING HERE!?" He yelled at the top of his lungs, launching into the air before practically sprinting over to hide near Audrey.
Vetiver transformed back and blew her hair out of her face. "This is my home." She placed her hands on her hips.
"I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHERE I AM, DEVIL CAT!" Kirby yelled, trying to now get under the bed.
Vetiver's smirk widened at this. "Devil cat? Aren't you the one from Hell?" She said, walking closer to the bed. "Besides, I'm not for...chasing these days. I was younger. Two minutes old to be exact."
Kirby was hiding now and shaking his head. "Doesn't mean you won't attack me again! I did nothing and you attacked me!" He said, whining a bit as his expression grew more and more frightened.
Vetiver smacked her lips before saying, "Hmmm...ah, yes. You, sir, tried to rip my master to shreds and nearly burned down a kitchen." She smirked. "Besides, all I did was ride on your back...except I do think I bit one of your ears." She shrugged casually. "Eh...I've retired from that life. I do my own thing these days. You don't have to worry about me, puppy."
"That doesn't mean annything." Kirby said, now obviously shaking and hiding from her.
Vetiver chuckled. "Sure. Hide from the girl in a floral dress, pink hair, and cat ear hair clips! Sounds absolutely frightening." She said before taking her usual place beside Audrey.
"It's always the cute ones that try to kill meee." Kirby whimpered out, sounding like he was on the verge of a fear-induced crying fest. "Mainly because they hide their true motives behind pretty faces."
Vetiver paused at his wording before she used her magic to get her game again. "Uh-huh…" She turned it on as pink dusted her cheeks a bit. "Like I said. Been there. Done that. Now, I just want to play games, eat cookies, and chill with my mom. You can be the monster under the bed if you want, but I ain't moving." She said, focusing on the game.
"Because you're plotting...You attacked me then and you were cute, you are cute now and you are obviously planning to get me again. It's all hiding behind the pretty facade!" Kirby cried out, prompting Heidi to facepalm at him.
Vetiver didn't know whether to be annoyed or flattered at that. "Wait...what? Plotting for...what?" She took some of her attention off of the game.
"A-Attacking me and taking me out once and for all! It's all apart of the plan-to trick me by using your beauty and looks into a sense of false security before striking me and finishing the job from all those years ago!" Kirby said with a sob that prompted both Heidi and Audrey to look confused.
Vetiver blinked before she looked up from her game. "Uhh...I didn't want to kill you. I just wanted you to leave my dad alone. Dogs get on her nerves. If you pose no threat...then I don't see why I'd have to attack you…" She tried again to continue her game as the pink made its way back to her cheeks.
Kirby, if he heard her, only let out another whimper. "You were obviously designed and made to end me...Because everything is perfect about you and it's all to trick me into my demise!" He said while punching the floor.
Vetiver looked around blankly. An, "Uhhh…" tumbled out of her mouth as she thought of some words to say
"I can no longer run from my fate...death by a cute kitten or girl!" Kirby cried while Heidi's eyes narrowed as she tilted her head. "Just take me out now, stop prolonging my death!"
At that, Vetiver stood and said, "Yeah...I'm gonna...go...to the kitchen. I think breakfast is ready." She said before hurrying out of the room, hiding her blush the best she could.
Heidi, who had grown amused at this point, waited till the girl left before chuckling. "Hey, Kirby. She's going to plot some more...in the kitchen. You could be put out of your misery within moments if you only follow her." She said, matching his dramatic use of words.
Kirby crawled out and got to his feet. "And then she won't continue this torture with her pure perfect self?" He said, wiping at his eyes.
"Oh, no. She could get it over with, stop the torture, and you could be back down chillin in Hell." Heidi said with a nod before abruptly smirking as the boy sprinted out of the room.
Audrey looked at the door. "Did you just…"
"...I'm back in the matchmaker business, it's official," Heidi said before laughing and doubling over while Audrey looked exasperated at her.

After a very…very…very weird start to her morning. Vetiver escaped into the kitchen. She saw the older members of the group, eating, talking, and preparing to train for the trip later on. While they were doing this, Vetiver walked over to Chirpy.
Vetiver tapped the woman in the leg. "Excuse me, Chirpy? Do you mind getting me a blueberry muffin and tea please?" She asked with a smile.
Chirpy brightly smiled back. "Here...and here." She said as she grabbed the muffin and poured the child some warm sweetened tea. "Be careful. The tea is pretty hot."
Vetiver nodded as she carefully held the cup. "I will." She grabbed the muffin and thanked her before looking around for a pair of bunny ears in the crowd.
She walked around a bit before she eventually saw them. She sighed in relief as she made her way over. Before she got there, she made sure that she didn't see any red hair.
"Amorette?" She called to the other girl as she walked up to her. She tapped her on the shoulder.
Amorette, who had her bunny headphones on, took them off and looked behind her before smiling. "Oh, hey! What's up with you?" She asked with a head tilt, making an apple appear in her hand before she took a bite of it.
She blinked at her before looking around the kitchen. Vetiver answered. "I...think I just need someone to talk to." She said as she put her cup down and took a piece of her muffin.
"Bout what?" Amorette asked with a blink as she continued to eat her apple.
Vetiver examined the piece. "Are you familiar with Kirby? I am pretty sure you are." She said, popping it in her mouth
"Yeah! He's the one who chills out in Heidi and Audrey's area. He's pretty well known for that alone since Heidi throws most of the hellhounds out when they break-in." Amorette said with a smile and a nod.
Vetiver nodded at that. "Good. I have also heard that he has this...cat phobia? Glacier told me something like that earlier." She said before getting another piece of her muffin.
"I've heard about it...but since we don't exactly have cats in hell I wouldn't know if he actually has a phobia of them," Amorette said with a small shrug.
Vetiver nodded at that before smiling. "Well...I may or may not be the cat he's afraid of. Long story short, I turned porcupine on him a couple of times before Heidi moved him to Hell." She explained. "The thing is...I expected a...different reaction?" She said, picking up her tea.
"Like...what?" Amorette asked, gesturing for her to continue.
Vetiver nodded. "Hades brought him here this morning. After Heidi fixed his rebellious phase, he hid from me and said something about me being destined to end him because I'm...perfect? Then he said something about me being cute but plotting to kill him. I kind of expected more of a fight instead of...that." She finished, taking a sip.
Amorette raised an eyebrow. "Hold up, he called you cute and adorable but was also saying you are going to kill him?" She asked, looking to her for clarification.
Vetiver confirmed as she nibbled on another piece of her muffin. "Weird, right?" She took a sip of her tea.
"Maybe he has no filter or something." Amorette offered up, finishing her apple in record time and tossing it into a nearby trash can. "So...a chicken who has no filter who also happens to think you are pretty."
"That sums it up." She took another piece. "And I...am more than confused. I was expecting to get lit on fire." She downed it before getting another.
"Perhaps...he is so afraid...that he can only blab and not do any actions," Amorette said thoughtfully while rubbing her chin.
Vetiver blinked before nodding. "That...could be a good reason. I mean, I did give him a hard time a couple of years back." She said, finishing her muffin and working on her tea.
"So, he's probably just terrified of you and thinks you are...plotting against him. You may...have traumatized him just a bit." Amorette said with a small shrug.
Vetiver finished her tea with a shy smile. "That could possibly be accurate. I don't think he's used to being attacked." She said with a shrug.
Amorette offered her a smile. "If I were you...I'd just try to be friendly with him until he either stops panicking or…" Her last word was drawn out as she saw a boy with red hair bust in across the room. "...Nevermind. I think he's gonna be hard to calm down."
While the group paused at that, Vetiver groaned. "Oh no…" She said before using her magic to wave her empty cup and paper away.
"...I think he's coming over here." Amorette deadpanned as she saw the boy scrambling over with panic written all over his face.
Without looking at her, Vetiver replied. "Thank you for telling me the obvious, Amorette." She said dryly.
"Not a problem," Amorette replied back just as dryly.
Vetiver looked at her adoptive sister in irritation. Then, she turned to the boy as he scrambled towards her. "Kirby, what are you doing here?" She asked, folding her arms.
"Just finish me off! Heidi said you were plotting in here and I just want the torture to stoooop!" Kirby said at the top of his lungs, causing Amorette to nearly fall into a fit of laughter.
Vetiver pinched the bridge of her nose before sighing. "Dude, I'm a cat. We never think about someone other than ourselves for more than five minutes." She placed her hands on her hips. "I wasn't plotting. I was enjoying breakfast." She looked at him with sass.
"You were created to end me, to trick me into liking you!" The boy wailed while Amorette, who had managed to get some popcorn, nearly choked as she snorted at the boy's words.
Vetiver blinked at him. "What are you talking about? I was created to annoy and distract you." She said while looking at him with confusion.
"Using your sheer cuteness to make me feel like nothing is wrong." Kirby continued, almost as if he hadn't heard her.
Amorette leaned over. "I think you should start counting the complements he's throwing." She said with a snicker before eating some more popcorn.
Vetiver exhaled through her nose. Then she looked at Amorette before looking at the popcorn with annoyance. "What am I supposed to do!? This guy is...obviously in his own zone." She whispered while looking at him.
Amorette shrugged as she saw Kirby act as if he got shocked by something before he continued on in his rambling. "Uh...I don't know. Wait it out?" She offered innocently, taking another piece of popcorn and tossing it in her mouth.
Triple G nudged his brother from the sidelines. "...What is happening?" He said with confusion as he looked at the children.
JR shrugged. "I have no idea, but this has to be better than TV." He said, clearly entertained.
Vetiver did as she was suggested and waited for a bit. "Uhh...Kirby? Are you still there?" She told the boy that she was starting to grow concerned for.
Kirby, who now seemed a bit calmer, save for the random twitching every thirty seconds or so, looked at her with a blanched expression on his face. "W-What?" He asked, voice tumbling out in a stutter.
"Are you o-kay?" She clarified as she blinked a few times as she looked him over.
"U-Uh...Well…" Kirby began, clearly failing as he tried to grasp for what to say. "I-I...don't k-know…"
Vetiver blinked before attempting at kindness like Amorette suggested. "Alright. Did...you need anything?" She asked, still a bit off from the events.
Kirby twitched and shook his head. "Heidi...told me to come in here…" He said slowly, somehow managing to lose his stutter just as quickly as he gained it.
Vetiver slowly nodded before looking around. "Okay. You came looking for me. Is there anything you wanted from me...besides killing you." She said the last part in exasperation.
As the boy, for some odd reason, jumped a bit, he shook his head once more. "She...wants me to talk with you?" He said though it came out as more of a question than anything.
Vetiver tilted her head at that. "Talk with me? I...thought you were afraid of me." She said in confusion.
The boy paused and looked away in thought. "Heidi...wants me to...hang with you or something like that…" He said, turning his eyes to the ground as he twitched a bit more.
Vetiver blinked in surprise before abandoning her hundreds of questions. She slowly nodded. "Okay...what do you want to do?"
"I...have no idea. I was hoping you could think of something…" Kirby responded while scratching the back of his head.
Vetiver nodded before looking down in thought. "Umm...I could take you around the garden. I have to check on the plants anyway. That seems like a good thing to do while we talk." She said with the smallest of smiles.
"Uh...Yeah, let's do that." Kirby offered her a smile as well as he began to stop twitching.
Vetiver nodded at that. "I'll catch you later, Amorette." She said before walking off.
Amorette waved her off before noticing she was out of popcorn. "Huh...Need to go get some more." She said as she hopped up and put her bunny headphones back on before heading to the kitchen.
