Chapter 42: An Adoption, A Fairytale Wedding, and A Baby...Maybe

Two Months Later

Running up the steps of the family courthouse in Storybrooke, Robin, Alice, and Lily hurry to meet up with Tinkerbell and Killian to make Lily's adoption by Robin and Alice official.

"Sorry, sorry we're late," Robin says, a bit out of breath.

Killian smiles at his new daughter-in-law of less than 24 hours and says, "It's okay. We checked in with the court scheduler and the judge is running a bit behind this morning. Apparently, according to the scheduler, the judge has a bit of a hangover from a wedding he attended yesterday."

"Oh good - good that he's running late, not good that he has a hangover from our wedding. We forgot to set the alarm for this morning and Lily woke us up by banging on a kitchen pot with a wooden spoon. And then we had to put out a small fire and clean up some water because my wife decided to throw a fireball at her for the rude awakening and the kid threw one back and I threw water on both of them and the burning carpet," Robin explained.

Tinkerbell and Killian both chuckled picturing the antics that ensued in their household that morning, especially knowing Alice's tendency for having a short fuse in the morning. They knew there would probably be more mornings like that in the future for the family.

"We should head in," Tinkerbell said and turned to head into the courthouse. The others followed her.

About a half hour later, they were called into the judge's chambers. Blue, as the social worker, was already there with the judge, August Booth/Pinocchio. After a short ceremony cementing Alice and Robin's promise to raise Lily the right way and keep her safe, and signing all the paperwork, Judge Booth proclaims them a family - the Hood-Jones family. Everyone cheers and the new family, Tinkerbell, Killian, Blue, and August head to Granny's Diner to celebrate the adoption with the rest of their family and friends.

At the diner, Regina is talking to Tinkerbell and Killian about Robin and Alice's wedding the day before.

"Speaking of weddings, how goes the planning for yours?" Regina asks.

"It's going," Killian says.

"Yeah it's going," Tinkerbell agrees.

"Sounds like a few problems or disagreements are going on," Emma says, walking up to the trio. "Wedding planning issues?"

"Yes. We're having a bit of trouble agreeing on a few things," Tinkerbell tells her.

"Like what?" Regina asks.

Killian starts listing them off, "Theme - which I've been informed we must have, colors, attire, location, food, music, you get the idea."

"So basically everything," Emma says with a laugh.

"Yes," Tinkerbell says.

"Okay so who's fighting who on what?" Emma asks.

"He won't give an opinion on anything. I ask for his opinion and all he says is 'whatever you want love I'm good with'. It's frustrating as hell," Tinkerbell replies.

"Well seeing as you keep changing your mind on things every five minutes that is frustrating as hell for me. I've told you I will wear whatever you want, marry you wherever you decide, eat whatever you plan, and so on, I just want to marry you. I don't care about any of the other stuff," Killian tells his fiancée.

Emma and Regina chuckle at the couple's argument. Emma says, "Ah this argument sounds very familiar."

"What sounds familiar, luv?" Emma's husband, Killian/Hook, asks, walking over to them.

"The argument these two lovebirds are having in regards to their wedding," Emma tells her husband.

"Let me guess - she keeps changing her mind and he won't give an opinion," Hook says with a smirk.

"Aye mate, that would be the one. How'd you manage not to strangle Emma when you were planning yours?" Killian asks his friend.

"I kept reminding myself that I loved her and that she would go back to normal after the wedding was over," Hook told him.

"Did that work?" Killian asked.

"Most days. Other days, I went to the basement and punched holes in the wall," Hook replied.

"Is that why you insisted on renovating the basement into a wine cellar?" Emma asked her husband.

"Aye. I had most of the demo done before the wedding," Hook confessed.

Emma laughed and the others joined in.

"Well I hope to avoid that - mainly because our house has been completely renovated and I really don't want to start a new renovation just yet," Killian said.

"Well the Jolly Roger could use some work if you want something else to work on instead," Hook offered.

Tinkerbell's eyes lit up. She hadn't thought of getting married on the Jolly Roger. "How much work does she need?"

"Umm some of the deck boards need replaced and then the entire deck would need to be resealed, some of the cabins need fixed up, as does the galley. Why?" Hook asked Tinkerbell.

"How long would all of that take to do?" she asked him.

"I don't know. A few months maybe. Again, why?" Hook said.

Tinkerbell looked at Killian, who was looking at his fiancée confused, and said, "Let's get married on the Jolly Roger." Looking at Hook, she says, "That is if the work can be completed on time and it's alright with you."

Hook says, "It's perfectly fine by me. The wedding's in four months right?"

Killian replies, "Yeah four months." He looks at Tinkerbell and asks, "So I'm guessing a pirate-themed wedding then?"

"Umm pirate and fairy themed. We'll do red and black as the primary color scheme, throw in some green and gold. Twinkle lights, some pirate and ship décor on the tables. My bouquet will be red, white, and black roses wrapped in green ribbon. I think I saw the perfect dress on a website for a wedding dress store in New York. What do you think?" Tinkerbell tells him, praying he has an actual opinion for once.

"Sounds absolutely perfect, love," he tells her. He looks at Hook and asks, "Think we can get the work done on the ship in time?"

"Aye mate I believe we can," Hook said, "As long as your fiancée doesn't change her mind anymore," Hook teased.

"Oh I won't change my mind. This is absolutely perfect," she reassured both men.

"Alright then. A pirate-fairy themed wedding it is. And it sounds like a trip to New York needs to be arranged very quickly if it's the wedding dress store I think you're talking about," Regina says to Tinkerbell.

Tinkerbell nods her head and says, "It is. Can you make it happen?"

"Of course I can, I'm the queen," Regina tells her and leaves to make a phone call.

One week later, Tinkerbell, Regina, Alice, Robin, Lily, Emma, and Snow, walk into Kleinfeld's of New York - an upscale wedding dress salon that is featured on a T.V. show "Say Yes to the Dress."

Tinkerbell/Jade picks out several dresses to try on, including the one she found on their website. She tries on each of the dresses, but not her favorite yet, and shows her family and friends each one. They all have opinions on each dress, but all agree that none of the ones she's tried on yet is the one. They don't have the right feel in regards to Tinkerbell and the theme of the wedding.

Snow/Mary Margaret says, "Why don't you try on the one you saw on the website?" The others agree and Tinkerbell/Jade goes with the consultant back into the dressing room to put on the other wedding dress.

As soon as she put on the dress, Tinkerbell knew that this was the one. She let the consultant lead her back out to her family and friends and stepped up onto the low platform in front of the three-way mirror. She can hear her family and friends behind her gasping as they realize how perfect this dress is for her and for the wedding. The consultant places a long veil that attaches with a jeweled comb to her hair before she turns around to face the group. Once she turns around, everyone's jaws drop in awe. One by one they say, "This is it. This is the one."

"Papa is going to cry happy tears seeing you in that dress on your wedding day," Alice says to her. Everyone agrees with her.

The consultant asks her, "So Jade are you saying yes to the dress?"

With tears in eyes, Tinkerbell says, "Yes, yes, a thousand times yes!" They all clap and cheer.

Tinkerbell goes back to the dressing room and changes out of her gown. Then she makes arrangements to take the dress home with her that day. She'll hide the dress at Regina's so Killian doesn't see it prior to the wedding.

After leaving Kleinfeld's, the group goes shoe shopping for the perfect wedding shoes. They found them at Nordstrom - a gorgeous pair of Badgley Mischka Kiara Crystal Open Toe Pumps in red with a 5 inch heel.

"I'll definitely need to practice walking and dancing in these shoes. I'm not used to such a high of a heel," Tinkerbell said.

"Well if you want the shoes to also be a surprise, I can volunteer my husband for dance practice, seeing as their twins," Emma says, calling the two Killians twins because of the sales person standing there.

"I'll let you know. Depends on whether or not, my fiancé wants everything to be a surprise. If he's okay with seeing the shoes, I'll practice dancing with him. If he's not, I'll take you up on that," Tinkerbell says to Emma. Emma nods her head.

She buys the shoes and then the group grabs a late lunch since they are all starving and then head home to Storybrooke.

3 Months and 3 Weeks Later - The Wedding Day

Tinkerbell awoke on her wedding day to the sun streaming in the window of the bedroom at Regina's where she had stayed the night. She stretched her arms above her head and sighed. The long wait was over - by the end of the day she would be married to the man she loved - a man whom she had loved for over 32 years.

The repair work on the Jolly Roger had been finished the previous week by Killian, Hook, and several others. The ship had been decorated the day before to Tinkerbell's exacting specifications. Tinkerbell had practiced walking and dancing in her wedding shoes with Emma's husband, as her Killian wanted everything to be a surprise. She laughed at the memory of Killian throwing a fit when she brought up needing him to help her practice dancing in her wedding shoes. He was insistent that they hold to the tradition that what the bride wears is a surprise until she walks down the aisle to her groom. She rolled her eyes at him and had told him 'fine I'll practice with Hook then since he already agreed to help if you decided to be a stick in the mud.' Killian had responded to that by decking Hook for calling him a stick in the mud the next time he saw him. Then both men laughed their asses off as their ladies looked at them like they were crazy.

There was a knock on the bedroom door and Alice entered after Tinkerbell called out, "Come in." In Alice's hand was a large cup of coffee which she handed to her step-mom-to-be.

Tinkerbell took a sip and said, "Thank you. Is everyone else up yet?"

'Yes. Snow and Regina have cooked up a breakfast feast downstairs but won't let anyone eat till you get down there," Alice tells her.

"Well then I guess I better get down there," she says and gets up and grabs her robe. The two go down to breakfast and once it's all cleaned up, they all get showers while waiting for the hair stylist and makeup artist to arrive.

A few hours later and a change of location to the captain's quarters aboard the Jolly Roger, Emma helps Tinkerbell into her wedding dress.

"So have you two figured out what last name you're going to use - Jones, Rogers, or Wilde?" Emma asks her.

"The last name will be Rogers. Legally his name will be Killian Colin Rogers and mine will be Jade Christina Rogers," Tinkerbell tells her.

"Okay. I get where you got his name from, but where did you get your middle name from?" Emma asks.

"According to Blue, my given name at birth was Christina," she says, as Emma finishes lacing up the corset back of her dress. The corset back that Tinkerbell had had her doubts about was her favorite part of the dress now that Regina, Emma, Alice, and Lily had worked their magic on the scars on her back and made them disappear - completely erasing the visible scars left by Pan.

"Ah okay. Never knew that," Emma says.

"Neither did I so don't feel bad," Tinkerbell says with a chuckle. "Now help me get these shoes on, please."

Emma grabs the shoes and kneels down and helps Tinkerbell put on her shoes. Then she straightens up and grabs the veil and places it in Tink's hair. "There you're all ready. Nervous?" Emma asks her.

"A little. We've been waiting for this moment for so long. I just want everything to be perfect, you know?" Tink says.

"Yeah I do. But not to worry, you put my mother in charge of getting everything done and she has done everything you have asked and it's perfect," Emma reassured the bride.

"Okay you're right," Tink says and takes a deep breath. There's a knock on the door and Regina pokes her head in to check to see if Tink is ready.

"It's time," Regina says, entering the cabin.

Tinkerbell picks up her bouquet of white, red, and black roses tied in green satin ribbon, as does Emma as one of her bridesmaids.

The three ladies leave the cabin to find Alice - her maid of honor, Robin, and Lily - her other two bridesmaids, waiting for them.

"Ready?" Alice asks Tinkerbell

"Absolutely," Tinkerbell says, with a huge smile on her face.

The ladies line up at the bottom of the stairs leading to the deck - Lily, Emma, Robin, then Alice ascend the stairs, leaving Tinkerbell and Regina at the bottom of the stairs.

"I can't believe it was here, 32 years ago, that you two fell in love and that I was here to witness it. I'm honored that you asked me to escort you down the aisle. I am so happy for the both of you," Regina says to Tinkerbell.

"I wouldn't want anyone else to take this walk with me. You've been there since the beginning. You are my sister," Tinkerbell says to her.

They hear Tinkerbell's processional song start up, "A Thousand Years" by Christina Perri, and they slowly climb the stairs and begin their walk down the aisle to where Killian stands, looking so handsome in his black dress pants, red silk dress shirt, and black vest, at the bow of the ship at the makeshift altar of a wooden arch covered with white sheer fabric and white twinkle lights and tied with black sheer ribbon and red roses. Standing next to him is his best man, Henry, and his groomsmen, Hook, David, and Marcus Smee, stand. Blue is standing there as well as she will be the one officiating the ceremony.

As Alice had predicted months earlier in the bridal salon in New York, Killian had happy tears in his eyes as he saw his beautiful bride walking towards him.

When Tinkerbell and Regina reach the altar, Regina kisses Tinkerbell on the cheek and does the same to Killian and then takes her seat. Killian looks at Tink and says, "Wow you look amazing, love."

Tinkerbell blushes at the compliment and Blue begins the ceremony by welcoming everyone and sharing some words about true love and then has Killian and Tinkerbell recite the vows that they have written together. Tinkerbell hands her bouquet to Alice and Killian and Tinkerbell hold hands as they recite their vows:

"You mean so much to me. Not one word of feeling can describe the love I have for you. I never would have thought that two completely imperfect people could come together so perfectly and be happy. I love you, Killian/Tinkerbell. You're my best friend, my soul mate, my everything.

With that said, I vow to honor, cherish, love, and protect you with everything I am and will be. I vow that everyday I'll wake up and be so thankful that we're together and that I'll always be by your side.

And I vow that this love will be as great as the best sea voyage/fairytale and a dream come true. I love you Killian/Tinkerbell. Forever and Always."

Blue then asks for the rings and hands Killian the diamond and emerald band to place on Tinkerbell's finger. He places the ring on her finger, saying, "With this ring, I thee wed.'

Blue hands Tinkerbell the black titanium and emerald ring to place on Killian's finger. She places the ring on his finger, saying, "With this ring, I thee wed."

Blue then says, "With the giving and receiving of rings and sharing of their vows, I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss your bride!"

Killian pulls his wife to him and kisses her so thoroughly that Henry has to clear his throat and tap Killian on the shoulder to remind him that there were a lot of people around. Tinkerbell and Killian chuckle as they reluctantly break their first kiss as husband and wife. Everyone cheers and claps as Killian and Tinkerbell walk up the aisle and off the Jolly Roger onto the dock that is set up for their reception under a large white tent.

Long tables, covered in white and black tablecloths, were set up around a makeshift dance floor. The tables had tall glassware, red candles, red roses, and greenery, as well as table markers that were miniature pirate ship masts with sails out. Also on the tables were guest favors - little cork-topped glass bottles that held a message from the bride and groom inside. Glass lanterns lit with twinkle lights surrounded the reception area on the tables, around the dance floor, hanging from rope strung across the ceiling of the tent. A band was set up nearby.

Once everyone was seated at the tables, the band announced it was time for the bride and groom's first dance as husband and wife. Tinkerbell and Killian walk onto the dance floor and the band begins to play "Nobody But You" by Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani. As they dance, they sing to each other.

Several hours later, after eating and much dancing, they cut their four-tiered wedding cake that is covered in white fondant and black scrollwork and real red rose petals. The cake topper is a glass sugar version of the sculpture that they had bought in Seattle - a hook surrounded by green fairy wings.

After feeding each other a bite of cake, they head back to their table but are waylaid by Emma and Hook who have champagne flutes in their hands or hand in Hook's case. Emma hands Tinkerbell and Killian each a glass and the Jones' toast the newlyweds. Tinkerbell pretends to take a sip of the champagne, Emma catches that move out of the corner of her eye but doesn't say anything. After chatting with the newlyweds for a few minutes, Emma and Hook head to the dance floor.

Once they have left, Killian takes his wife's champagne flute from her and sits it on the table along with his. Then he takes her hand and leads her over to the edge of the dock.

"Okay out with it, Mrs. Rogers. You may think you've been sly all evening, but I've noticed that you haven't had a real sip of alcohol all night. What gives?" Killian asks her.

"Nothing much, Mr. Rogers. But I can't drink right now. It's not good for our baby," she tells him softly, looking up at him, since she had traded her 5 inch heels for a much more comfortable pair of black flats.

"Our baby?" he asked confused and then realization dawns, and he says excitedly, "Our baby! We're pregnant?!"

"Yeah we are," she says, throwing her arms around her husband.

He picks her up and spins her around kissing her. He sets her down and breaks off the kiss and asks, "How far along?"

"About 7 weeks so we still have a long way to go. The doctor is going to monitor me very closely because of past injury and trauma, so I'm not out of the woods by a long shot," she tells him.

He nods in understanding and says, "Makes sense. I will do everything in my power to help you through this, love. I love you, my beautiful fairy."

"I know you will. I love you, my handsome pirate," she says and kisses him.

They turn and watch their friends and family dancing and laughing and hold onto one another, both sending a silent wish into the universe that their baby would be okay and that they would get to meet him or her.
