Chapter 11 – An Okay Goodbye
It was dark when Ajay opened her eyes. Small trails of light came through the shades of the window. The lights streamed over the bed, over their naked bodies. Ajay's body felt heavy and relaxed at the same time. "How is this even possible?" She reached down like she was in some sort of trance. Elliot's arm covered her chest. He also had his leg over her lower body, tangled with her legs. She reached up and touched his arm with her only free arm. Her body was tucked into his life puzzle piece. His chin rested on her shoulder. Elliot's other arm rest above her head, cradling her. She peered around the room. She didn't know what time it was. Her eyes moved back and forth scanning the room. She ran her fingertips along Elliot's arm and closed her eyes. She tried falling back to sleep. She jerked awake as nightmares seeped into her subconscious. She had a death grip on Elliot's arm.
"Ajay?" His fingers found her hair. He gently ran his fingers through her to calm her down. He already knew what was happening. "Shhh." He sat up just enough to kiss her forehead. He felt her grip on his arm release. He held her tight with his other arm and continued to run his fingers through her hair until her body relaxed into his arms. He placed his face against her neck, "Do you want to talk about it?" He felt her shake her head. He wouldn't push the subject; when she was ready he would be waiting.
She sighed and turned in Elliot's arms. She placed her face against his chest as his arms tightened around her. She felt light again. "It ain't nothing." She whispered into his skin. She knew she was lying right when she said it. She pulled her face away from his chest and kissed his lips gently and pulled away just enough to talk. "When do you have to leave?" Her voice was soft against his lips. "Elliot. I understand that you have a life. I wanted to tell you that last night."
When Elliot heard the question it stung but her response after the question made him feel better. He kissed her before responding, "Later today." He pulled her in tightly again him. She was so warm and she smelled so good. He traced his fingertips down her back until he reached her ass. He gave her a gentle squeeze and kissed the top of her head. "Breakfast?" His fingertips ran slowly up her back again as he waited for her response.
Ajay was lost in him. The side of her head was placed against his chest. She listened to his heart beat rhythmically. She sighed "Music to my ears." Her thought was broke by his hands on her ass. She smiled to his motion and nodded his words. She wasn't very hungry, though she really couldn't remember a time that she as very hungry. "Fruit? She gave his chest a kiss before he left the bed. She rolled over to her side and watched him throw on a pair of loose fitting black shorts and dark gray tee shirt.
Elliot watched Ajay lay on the bed, her gaze locked on him. She was still naked; her body was beautiful, she was beautiful. He smiled at her before leaving the room. He made it to the kitchen to get some fruit ready. He picked up the bar area and open the balcony doors. The warm air rushed in. The sun was just peaking up over the hills. Elliot set the fruit down on a small table outside. He stretched and walked over to the railing. He looked down into the city. He couldn't even make out what was going on, his balcony was too high up.
He turned around see Ajay walk out to greet him. She was in one of his shirts; an old faded tie dye one that she tied to the side with a hair band to make it fit better around the waist. He noticed that her left shoulder hung out of the oversized shirt and he could make out her bra strap. Her hair was back up in a messy bun. As she got closer he could tell she wasn't wearing her shorts. She reached out to hug him and he embraced her. He placed his arms around her placed his hands on her ass, he couldn't resist. He noticed that she was wearing her panties again. "Lace." He didn't realize, until now, that her panties only covered part of her ass, they left the rest of her ass to hang. He tapped her ass and kissed her forehead. He motioned over to the table.
Ajay grabbed Elliot's hand and brought him over to the table with him. They both sat down. She watched him eat and she ate a little bit. She sat with one foot in the chair and a knee against her chest. She wanted to ask about his job but she didn't want to pry, besides she had to get some training in today. The warm morning breeze felt amazing, or maybe it was the ecstasy that was still in her system. She didn't really care she just closed her eyes and took everything stride. "Elliot." Her eyes were still closed. She didn't know if she could look him in the eyes and say what she had to say. She was still brave from the residue effects of the drugs and alcohol but not brave enough to open her eyes. "Whateva happens... Last night was amazing." She smiled and opened her eyes. She glanced over at him.
Elliot sat with his chin is hand and his elbow on the table. He watched every word come out of her mouth like colors pouring out onto a painting. They were the words he needed to hear today. He had the biggest grin when he saw her looking at him. "I... I... I... I feel the same Ajay." He tried not to stumble over his words but he did. Her words would be ingrained into his memory forever. He got to be with one of the most beautiful women that he had ever laid eyes on. She was even open to things that most other women would not be open to. He could not ask for a better night. This made leaving hard but he was beyond excited that he got to experience every inch of her.
He watched her for a moment longer, "Ajay. I don't know when I will be back." They both understood that those words meant that they wouldn't be waiting around for one another. He cared for her but he had no clue when he would see her again. He didn't even think he could be in a committed relationship anyhow. He wanted her to understand but he didn't want to hurt her. He watched her nod and continue to smile at him. He knew, by the look on her face, that she understood. He felt relief wash over him.
After they finished breakfast Ajay helped him clean up, even though he told her not to. She put her clothes back on, except for his shirt that she was wearing; she kept it as a souvenir; Elliot did not object. She managed to slip off her panties before getting dressed. Ajay helped Elliot pack for his trip. She left him some pills in his bag, just in case he ever felt overwhelmed, though it seemed like he had the hook up for his own supply. She slipped her panties in between his clothes in suitcase.
This time she made sure she had all of her belongings before leaving. She even checked her backpack twice. She was never good at goodbyes. She kissed and hugged Elliot as he opened the door for her. Neither of them wanted leave the embrace of the other but eventually they withdrew and they part ways. Ajay made her way back to HQ for training.
