Happy New Year everyone! Ok have to ask... who said Jumanji instead of Happy New Year at midnight? Mine was a cross between the two but luckily I was on my own which meant nobody else heard it thankfully. I hope everyone has a better year than last year was and just make the most of whatever this year throws at us. I'm hoping to get some chapters written before I have surgery next week. It's only planned to be day surgery but yeah... hoping to get some done.
Stay safe!
Lots of love,

Breaking Traditions-Part 36:
The days passed anxiously for Lucius and Narcissa as they awaited news from the orphanage about the baby and if they would finally be able to call her Rosalie or not. Narcissa had withdrawn into herself and had been spending a lot of time in her Secret Garden or the Gardens in general. She'd even been riding for the first time in years as well.
Lucius had been worried but his mother had reassured him that it was her way of distracting herself and remaining away from finishing the nursery. Lucius sighed as he admitted that he just wanted to finish the nursery and that the baby would be theirs; but even he was far too paranoid about jinxing things now that even he was avoiding their corridor as much as he could.
Then it happened the day after Lucius and his mother had spoken about Narcissa's distraction techniques. Lucius and Narcissa were sat in the sunroom reading their chosen material when they received an owl. Lucius saw it was from the orphanage and he quickly called Narcissa over and he waited until she was beside him before opening the letter.
Dear Mr. and Mrs. Malfoy,
After the success of the home visit and from the observations made by the orphanage carers during your visits to the orphanage to meet the potential matched baby girl the carers have come to a decision.
The baby girl will be allowed to be adopted by yourselves and we trust that she will have a loving and caring home; that you are the correct people to raise the girl and she will be loved as if she were your own.
We expect to see you in two days time in which you will sign the adoption papers and be allowed to take your new daughter home with you. Please find attached some useful information that will help you during the first couple of weeks as you adjust to having a baby to care for again…
Lucius wasn't allowed to read any more as Narcissa burst into tears and he placed the letter gently down on the table before wrapping his arms around his wife. He looked around and tried to sooth her but realized that the parents needed to know.
"Poppy!" he called and Narcissa's Head Elf showed up and instantly bowed low, "please go and collect my mother from the library and bring her here please," he instructed and Poppy disappeared, returning seconds later with Priscilla.
Lucius waited until his mother was comforting Narcissa before he apparated away. He knew the fathers were in his study as they'd been on about discussing some private issues. Malfoy Manor had become a hub since Druella and Priscilla had dueled and since Druella wasn't permitted to enter Malfoy Manor without permission it had become the safe place for conversations and business to happen.
Lucius soon arrived back with the fathers and Cygnus instantly rushed to his daughter and began to comfort her with Priscilla.
"What in Merlin's name has happened Lucius?" Cygnus said rounding on his son-in-law, "I haven't seen Narcissa like this since you lost the last baby," he said.
"Sorry for not explaining but we have news and I wanted you all here when I told you," Lucius said, "we've had a letter from the orphanage about 20 minutes ago and we wouldn't have been able to keep this a secret for long," he said before sitting down next to his wife.
"Tell them Luc," Narcissa whispered.
"The baby from the orphanage that Cissa and I have been seeing and how stay here a few nights ago now will be called Rosalie Isabella Malfoy," Lucius said before the room was filled with shrieks of delight and Narcissa managed to laugh softly,
"I am so sorry for the panic but I'm just so overwhelmed by all of this right now and it's hard to even think that I have a daughter now," she said and looked up at Priscilla before finding herself trapped in the arms of the older witch.
"You have nothing to be sorry for Cissa and don't you ever think that. This dream has been a long time coming and you really have been through every emotion possible to get to this stage," Priscilla said softly.
"Priscilla is right," Abraxas said, "there is really nothing to be sorry for at all. This is really a massive day for the families and we shall celebrate…"
"When Rosalie is here, when she is home," Lucius quickly said, "that will be in two days time. Narcissa and I know you three have practically moved in here to keep this all a secret from Druella but can we ask for your help one last time?"
"You can ask for our help as many times as you need," Priscilla said as she looked at her son, "I'm guessing you wish for help with the final preparations that you hadn't wanted to do."
"Yes it is," Narcissa answered as she looked at her mother-in-law, "there are certain things that we haven't done yet because we wanted to wait until we knew what was happening with the baby."
"So now we only have two days before the baby is able to come home?" Cygnus asked as he looked at Lucius.
"Yes… Cissa and I did most things before the baby… Rosalie came to stay the night but there are some things that we didn't want to tempt fate with and they are mainly outside things now," Lucius said, "there's still the Secret Garden to do but mother will have to do that on the account she's the only one who can access it other than myself and Cissa. We'll be finishing off the nursery and going to Hogwarts to inform Draco."
"Well Cygnus and I can take whatever is left," Abraxas said as he thought, "that way all the areas are covered. We will manage to get this done for Rosalie's arrival. We did the same when Draco was born and we shall do the same now. Let's get some lunch first and then we'll start work on everything and then Malfoy Manor will be ready to welcome a new child into the home," he smiled and then called the Head Elf and told it to start preparing the lunch before discussing exactly what was left to do before Rosalie's arrival at her new home in two days time.
