A few days later, Kyle's mood had lifted a lot and his family were starting to see some of the old Kyle coming back. He was feeling stronger each day and knew things were going to get better. Him, Brax and Heath were the only ones at home. Casey and Bianca had to get to work, and Denny went into Yabbie Creek with Ricky and Emilia. Irene was looking after the kids for Heath while he helped out with Kyle.

"What'd you want to do today?" Brax asks Kyle, wondering if he was going to go for another walk down to the beach or not.

"I'm not sure yet." Kyle lightly shrugs.

"How about lunch at the Diner, Brax's treat?" Heath says, grinning at his eldest brother.

"I always seem to pay when we eat out, it's not like you're an adult who has his own income." Brax huffs.

"Oi, I've got two kids and a wife, and I don't know if you've noticed, but Bianca and Darcy spend money at the mall like it's unlimited. They take the phrase 'shop till you drop' seriously, and I'm the one who ends up paying for it all." Heath moans. "Bit of advice: don't have a daughter unless you've got millions in the bank, because they know how to spend it fast." He shakes his head, then realises what he said.

"You know we both have daughters, right?" Kyle scoffs, earning a relieved look from his brother.

"Yes, but they're not teenagers with Bianca's shopping influence. I swear they do it on purpose." Heath says before glancing at Brax. "Least Ricky has some sense in knowing when to stop shopping, cause it's a very bad habit to have, just ask Bianca."

"Are you going to stop complaining so we can leave?" Brax asks.

"Yes, because I am going to make sure Harley is just like me. One of my kids has to be or it's not fair." Heath says as he walks towards the door, not bothering to wait for them as he focuses on his kids traits.

"What was all that about exactly?" Kyle asks Brax as he puts the harness on Bruno.

"He just thinks they're turning out too much like Bianca, which is actually not a bad thing." Brax says as they walk out to catch up to their brother, who was now a lot further down the street. "He should be grateful that Darcy isn't turning out like him, or he'd be a granddad in a few years, and then he'd be changing his mind." He scoffs.

"Yeah, that's a good point. At least Bianca is good with them and is willing to be a mother to them. He's probably grateful deep down but we all know what he gets like when something doesn't go his way." Kyle laughs.

"Yeah, least you've only had to put up with it for a fraction of the time I have, cause trust me, this is nothing compared to when he was your age." Brax shakes his head. "I'm just glad he matured after meeting Bianca, or I don't know where we'd be right now."

"Will you two hurry up!" Heath shouts at them as he turned to wait for them.

"Something tells me he's going to be in a bad mood now." Kyle scoffs.

"Not if I've got anything to do with it." Brax says, catching up to their brother before carrying on to the Diner.

Not long after they had arrived at the Diner, Casey had joined them as he was on his lunch break. They mainly spoke about the gym and restaurant while they ate, which made Kyle feel like he was getting some sort of normality back, and he was pleased with the speed things were going in his at home recovery.

"Why don't we have a boys night tonight?" Heath suggests as he pushes his empty plate away. "We haven't had one for a while and it could be good."

"Yeah, sounds like a good idea. You up for it?" Brax asks Kyle.

"Yeah, I've got nothing better to do." Kyle nods. "Isn't it the end of season footy match tonight?"

"Yeah Sydney v Adelaide." Heath says, smirking lightly.

"So basically you've had this planned for a while?" Kyle says.

"No, of course I haven't." Heath says. "I actually forgot that was tonight."

"You forgot it was tonight?" Casey scoffs. "The match you haven't stopped talking about for weeks because 'Sydney are going to win' in your eyes."

"Yeah, because they are, everyone knows they're the best team going!" Heath says.

"You keep believing that." Kyle mutters.

"Oh I'm sorry, I didn't know Melbourne were in the final match, especially after they failed to make it to semis." Heath says, shaking his head at his brother.

"Only because the ref failed to notice penalties against Cairns." Kyle retorts. "We beat Sydney in the finals last year, and knocked them from the quarters the year before that!"

"Carry on like that and you won't be allowed in the house tonight and you can stay with the girls!" Heath argues.

"Not this again." Brax mutters to himself, Casey chuckling as he heard it, knowing the two middle brothers could argue for hours once they got started.

"That would suit me fine! I'd rather be with the girls than someone who thinks Sydney are the best team going. At least I know they're not going to get over competitive and throws things at the TV when the other teams beat them!"

"I've already said a million times I did not mean to throw the remote at the TV, it slipped out my hand!"

"So your phone and a cushion also slipped from your hand and hit the TV as well?"

"Enough!" Brax raises his voice, managing to get their attention. "If you two carrying on arguing like then we won't be watching the footy!" He warns, faintly smiling at how normal it was between them now.

"I wasn't the one who started it." Kyle says, noticing Brax's face. "Sorry." He says, unable to hide a smile as he thought the same.

"So that's sorted then, boys night and the footy." Casey says.

"Yeah, as long as Kyle doesn't be a big girl that Melbourne didn't make it." Heath says, smirking at his brother.

"And as long as you don't cry about your kids not being like you in their traits." Kyle retorts.

"I think Kyle's won that one, so you can both stop that conversation now." Brax says before they could start arguing again.

"That's not fair-" Heath starts.

"Don't even think about it, Heath. You're meant to be the adult here, act like it." Brax firmly says, raising an eyebrow as Heath mutters something under his breathe. "What was that? You didn't quite say it loud enough." He says.

"Nothing." Heath says. "How about we go for a walk before I need to get to work?" He suggests.

"Oh yeah, there's some stuff you need to sign later, I forgot to mention it earlier." Casey says as they stand up to leave.

"What stuff?" Heath asks as they walk out along the beach.

"Just the laundry forms to say you agree to moving to that company. As we're both managers, they want both signatures. I think it was more for them to know we'll keep on top of payments or something." Casey says.

"I'll do it when I start my shift." Heath nods.

"Okay." Casey says, glancing over at Kyle with a smile. "Bruno seems to like the beach."

"Yeah, he loves it!" Kyle smiles as Bruno trots along in front of them. "John tried telling me off because dogs aren't allowed on the beach, but he soon stopped when he read the harness properly. He said Bruno can be the exception in the circumstances, as long as I clean up after him properly."

"John and his rules." Heath rolls his eyes. "Who even listens to him anyway?"

"People that don't want to be lectured by him." Casey scoffs.

"Yeah, that's true." Heath mutters as they walk in the direction of the Surf Club where Kyle had agreed to check on the restaurant with Brax.
