-Meeting of Factions-
-Augustgrad, Korhal IV(4)-
Emperor Valerian Mengsk sat at his large walnut office desk doing paper work. Its surface black with a high tech touch-screen and computer recessed into the wood frame. His hands reached out to a stack of files and profiles for the Ghost program. The new program was volunteer only under His rule. Still the benefits of not having to pay taxes and plenty of pay for the dangerous work still attracted many applicants. Especially since Haruka began her private program called Light Shield. Valerian remembers her mumbling it being opposite to Shadow blade or something. The program already had several scientists formally from confederate facilities. As he looked over the files he wondered where Haruka had meet them. Then He remembered Her unique propensity for knowing more then she should about things.
[Dr. Phan] Age 31: Field Psionic physics and biology.
[Dr. Elizabeth Martin] Age 29: Field psionic physics and biology.
[Dr. Ariel Hanson] Age 30: Field bio-engineering.
Valerian thought that recruiting these kinds of people was off considering how they were recruited, but they had the needed qualifications for the program as well as the others which included a man named Egon Stetmann. Their group while having to work from scratch at first started producing results in the first trial of turning a normal person into a psionic power user. The test required a exceedingly rare material called Ragnite that only Haruka again only knew how to find. Haruka told Valerian when he asked where she gets the stuff that she'll tell when the time was right. Valerian could only sight at her constant need to be mysterious.
Giving a light sigh Valerian leaned back in his seat taking a sip of his coffee. A moment later the office door opened with Haruka barging in.
"Can I help you miss Haruka?" He said cocking his head not too surprised.
Haruka stopped at the emperors desk.
"Yes actually. Its time for you to hear the whole story."
Raising a eyebrow Valerian didn't know how to react at first since Haruka had been so tit lipped about a lot of things up until now.
"And what made you decide to explain now of all times?"
Haruka sat down in one of the chairs.
"Because its time. Some of the other powers in the Koprulu sector are having a big meeting so I think it would be proper for the emperor of the Terran dominion to attended. I think you'll find it enlightening."
Tilting his head in thought a moment Valerian took a longer sip of his coffee downing the last of it. Looking into the empty cup he sighed placing it back onto his desk.
"And am I really needed at this meeting. I do have a empire to run which you dumbed on to my shoulders by the way?"
Haruka shrugged.
"You don't have to come. But the contents of the meeting should prove interesting at the lest."
Thinking it through Valerian stood up and pressed a button on his desk connecting to his private secretary.
"Holly. Cancel all my meetings for the day. I'll be taking a extended diplomatic trip."
-later: Shakuras-
The Bucephalus a Gorgon-class battlecruiser used by Valerian him self exited warp space. Valerian along with his bridge crew gasped in surprise at the massive golden themed ship right in front of them. Its golden hull filling the forward view.
"What the hell is that?" asked Valerian in surprise.
"Zerg detected! Massive class 12 bio-signature to our Port(left)"
Valerian and his crew quickly looked to their left seeing a massive Azure swarm Alpha Leviathan through the wall display screens. Not far off from it was a Protoss ship colored black and Red.
"What the hell is going on?" Valerian asked Haruka who was standing just to his right.
"Like I said this is a meeting. Now you we should be getting a call any... "
"Terran vessel identify your self?" sternly requested a Dark Templar from a holo-screen.
"I m Emperor Valerian Mengsk of the Terran dominion. I'm here to attend a meeting?"
The Dark Templar hummed in though a moment before replying.
"Your expected in the meeting in one hour Terran Emperor Valerian. Land at these coordinates."
The screen blinked off and a relaxed Valerian gave Haruka a stern glance.
"Well I take it were taking a shuttle down then."
Haruka nodded walking off to the door.
-Later-
Valerian and Haruka along with several body guards in power armor left the shuttle and were quickly met by a group of three Dark templar greeting them. After greeting each other they walking down a ramp to a building near the center of the Nerazim capital city Talematros.
Valerian and the Guards were stunned in awe at the alien beauty of the Protoss city.
The city stretched for kilometers, and was divided into a number of tiers, with transport platforms providing transport between the various levels. Its skyline was dotted by thousands of spires, and illumination crystals were lit up. Observers, sentries, and other security drones flew around in the sky patrolling the city and in the distance Anti Air cannons were visibly scattered throughout the city.
Escorted by the Dark Templar the Terrans and faux(false) Terran entered the building making their way to the meeting hall where a small group of people were already gathered.
"Hmph another one? This better be the last I need to return shortly or else the other Ascendant's will suspect something." Alarak mumbled as he eyed the new arrivals.
Valerian looked around stopping on the Protoss in black and red armor, and got the distinct feeling he was a little impatient. Looking around the room further Valerian quickly caught sight of Raynor and Ellen(in her praetorian bio-armor face exposed) talking with a group of Protoss, one of which was a robot with four legs making it reminded of a Dragoon crossed with a Protoss which just reminded Valerian of the mythical Centaurs of earth but smaller.
"Glad to see you alive Raynor. I was informed that you were alive but it seems that you have been through a lot up till now." Valerian said as he approached them.
"Yeah. Does it look that obvious?" said Raynor with a short laugh.
"Your face looks worn out at first glance but looking at your eyes you seem to be a little bit... happier for some reason?" answered the emperor.
"Yeah... I have been through a lot." laughed Raynor remembering all he's been through and grinning at the knowledge that his family was alive. "I'll explain later when we have more time to talk. How's everything on Korhal?
"It's as good as one could expect considering the Dominion is still a new government. Valerian replied with a subdued laugh turning to the female in the living bio-armor who screamed Zerg. "So... this is the infamous Ellen i've heard about. From what Haruka explained on the way here you seem to have a talent of gathering distinct groups together?"
"Your welcome." said Ellen. "I'll be the first to admit im no saint but I do have my motivation for getting all these groups together."
The room echoed as Matriarch Raszagal in dark purple robes and light armor tapped her folded scythe on the floor getting the rooms attention.
"Greetings. I am Raszagal, Matriarch of the Dark Templar, and I welcome you all to our world. Now shall our meeting begin." she spoke in a regal tone.
Raszagal glanced at Ellen who was the one to request this meeting in the first place ushering her forth. Ellen walked over to Raszagal near the center of the room surrounded by everyone.
"Well where shall I begin. Oh yeah this should do."
Casually Ellen held up a holographic projector. It activated forming a image of a large space fleet. The ships all looked of UNSC make from Earth and the inner colonies except for three massive asteroids ships. Each with a ring around their midsection. The ring has two large block shaped structures at opposite ends of the ring and was fixed to the asteroid by a dozen towers that looked like the spokes of a bike wheel. From the rear half of the asteroid ships extended three wide golden triangle shaped wings angled backwards and outwards. As the holo-image rotated a long tail became visible from the rear of the each of the asteroid ships consisting of a dozen rods banded together by five silver rings along its length. A moment later a flash of energy fired from one of the ships. The image cut out a moment before looping.
"And what are we looking at?" asked Alarak.
"This is a UNSC expedition fleet from Earth the Terran home world and its inner colonies." explained Ellen. "This video file was taken by one of my Overseers before it was destroyed. They are a a expedition fleet sent by greater Terran government to reconnect with their long lost colonist who were sent out into the galaxy as the first long distance colonization experiment. The fleets purpose is to make contact with any Terrans in the Koprulu sector and reintegrate them into the grater Terran civilization. Its a possibility that they may begin hostilities with not only the Terran factions but the Protoss factions as well if not my swarm."
"And why should we care?" Alarak questioned sounding only half interested.
"Because Alarak the one leading the expedition is a agent of Amon." explained Ellen cocking her head to one side.
Alarak remained silent but all could see that he was much more interested now.
"But you do not know if they will indeed begin hostilities or not?" said Artanis.
Ellen Shrugged.
"No not really. But I do know that the expedition is partly a cover for some unknown objective. Agents of a friend of mine reported as much. I just thought all of you should know this."
"Since this is a Terran matter I believe us Protoss should remain uninvolved." stated Tassadar.
"Nothing wrong with that." Ellen replied shrugging. "However in the long run a proper diplomatic relationship would need to be worked on regarding our five factions."
"Five factions?" questioned Valerian.
"Azure Swarm, Terrran Dominon, Nerazim, Kala Protoss and Tal'darim Protoss." Raszagal explained.
"Ah! Right." Valerian replied.
"Still though its not like this is a bad thing right?" questioned Raynor.
"That's a good point Raynor." replied Ellen. "Not even I know how the UNSC will act. There have been a divide as of late between the Earth, the inner colonies and Reach and the outer colonies. Reach serves as a kind of gateway between the inner and outer colonies."
"What do you mean by that?" asked Selendis.
"Secretly two factions have been butting heads. One in the outer colonies lead by a friend I know. And the other by someone whos been spreading a psudo-religion on Earth and the inner colonies. They've been gaining power both political and military. I do know their over all goals but as for what there planning for the Koprulu sector I don't actually know as I said before."
"And what would this overall goal of theirs be?" asked Tassadar.
"That's a involved question. But in short its the destruction of a array of large ring shaped structures scattered around the galaxy called Halos. A long time ago a ancient race called simply the Forerunners were the most advanced race in the galaxy and the other races lived under their rule. The Protoss know them as the Xel'naga."
Every Protoss in the room took greater interest in that information. With the exception of Alarak who had already known this from his long centuries with the Tal'darim.
"They created the Halos to keep two other races from destroying or conquering the galaxy. One of these races was a parasite created by or from the remains of a race even older then the Forerunners simply known as the precursors. The parasite is capable of infesting any living being, and taking them over, gaining both their bio-mass and knowledge becoming more intelligent over time. The parasites simply called the Flood for the lack of a better name. The other race was for the lack of a better term called the Light. There the real threat however. They originate from another dimension called the Immaterium. The Light is much different from any other beings as they are creatures created from the concentrated emotions of all the sentient beings of our material plane. However the Forerunners created the Halos to separate our plane of existence from the Immaterium by bolstering the boundary layer between the two. That dimension is called the Void from which the Tal'darim and Narizim pull their powers from.
The explanation made many of the meetings attendees take a moment to think everything through in regards to their own planes planes and in regard to the revelations explained.
"That's most of what I wanted to inform you of." said Ellen turning the hologram off and pocketing it. "The last was that Aiur had finally been cleansed of Zerg. My own forces are currentely pulling out."
The moods of all the Protoss with the exception of Alarak perked up at that information.
"I will return to see for my self," said Tassadar.
"As will I." added Fenix.
"If that is all Ellen I also have something to say." Raszagal said.
"No im done." Ellen replied stepping aside.
Raszagal took Ellen's place infront of everyone.
"First of all I would like to state to my fellow protoss from Aiur that while this long exile has been difficult and trying we Nerazim have... for the most part forgiven your forebears for exiling us. I Raszagal request our people work together to unify for the future of our race. For together we are stronger. I believe conveying the need for unity was what Ellen's intention to our meeting was today." Raszagal glanced at the Azure swarm leader.
Ellen smirked nodding.
"In a sense." Ellen admitted.
"If I may be so bold to speak Ms. Raszagal." said Valerian.
"You may." stated Raszagal.
"Im actually new to being a leader and im sure many of you are much older and experienced then I. But regardless I would like to extend my hand in aide to the Protoss people. The war between the two Zerg factions is something I am aware of as is the great loss you people have suffered when the Overmind attacked Aiur. If I and the Dominion can be of any aide then I would like to discuss this in a more formal manner and time."
"I am grateful for you kindness Valerian." Raszgal stated. "We will discuss this further later. If that is all then this meeting is dismissed."
No one else spoke up so the meeting was at a end. Everyone filed out of the room with Ellen and Alarak leaving together while Artanis, Selendis and Ko'toss saw Fenix and Tassadar out before they were teleported away. Valerian, Raynor and Haruka followed a Nerazim Zealot to a room that had been prepared for them.
"Well I certainly didn't think I would be involved in a major gathering of some of the highest ranking leaders in the Sector today." Valerian stated drinking a glass of water from a crystal dispenser prepared by the Nerazim.
"Sorry but it kind of came up on short notice." said Haruka trying to calm Valerian down. She felt quit regretful of him having to act useful out there. He must have felt like a small fish in a ocean with whales.
"I felt like a child in a town meeting!" Valerian half shouted actually angry.
"But hey you got a later meeting with them right." stated Haruka.
Valerian sighed taking a moment to calm down.
"I guess. I don't really think I can help considering the stat of the Dominion. I mean compared to the Protoss were far behind them technologically and the Zerg can evolve and multiply far faster then we can produce war armaments and train troops."
"Hey were not that underwhelming," stated Raynor. "We held our own on Aiur. And with the tech from Ellen's friend on Reach it's only a matter of time before were up to par with them.
Valerian grinned at Raynors upbeat attitude.
"Yeah... I guess your right. But it will still take time." said Valerian.
-ArkShip Spear of Adun-
Alarak followed Ellen into the Ark ship in orbit, still waiting to have his end of the bargain fulfilled. They walked passed several security checkpoints before reaching a guarded lab. Passing dozens of Khalai Zealots they entered the lab where several Phase-smithes were working.
"Karax!" Ellen called.
One Phase-smith looked up waving Ellen over before continuing his work on a small device of some kind.
"Ah Ellen I did not think you would be coming this eairly?" Karax replied as he continued working.
"How's the Solarite infusions going?" asked Ellen.
"It goes well enough. Before to long we will be able to unseal our long sleeping ancestors from their slumber within the Arkships." Karax glanced back at Alarak. "And who is he?"
"This is one of my allies." explained Ellen. "He needs a date crystal decoded and unlocked. It's a Xel'naga artifact."
Hearing that Karax eyes shot up glancing at Alarak before turning to Ellen with great interest.
"Show me."
Reluctantly Alarak handed the crystal over to the Phase-smith. Karax took the crystal looking it over.
"Hmm. Most fascinating."
Karax took the crystal placing it into a spherical slot. A holo-screen blinked on showing information and a schematics of a artificial gas along with its molecular structure.
"What is all that. What's the crystal say?" asked Alarak getting impatient.
"It looks like a artificial gas." Karax explained. "From these read outs it has some very exotic organics and will strongly affect brain chemistry greatly. As a result it should boost ones psionic powers for a time. Though it has a very strict multiphase creation process that if not adhered to will result in a inferior product that will have addictive sideffects and withdrawal symptoms."
"Can both versions be produced together?" asked Alarak with some interest, always one to take a opportunity when he sees one.
"Yes?" replied Karax in question. "But such chemical substances are not my area of expertise."
"That's fin." replied Alarak. "I already know who i'm going to use to make these two products."
"You look like a guy with a evil plan!" Ellen quipped staring at the Ascendent.
"Perhaps I do?" Alarak replied playfully.
"You intend to purposely make the faulty version of the Gas?" Karax questioned.
"That's my business and not yours." stated Alarak in a somewhat threatening tone.
"Understood." Replied Karax.
-Aiur-
Exiting warp-space the carrier holding Tassadar and Fenix appeared over their homeworld. A world once teeming with life and that served as the center of the Protoss empire. But now it had been brought low. Its once glistening great cities were now little more then rubble and vary few Protoss remined on the planet with the exception of those that were left behind in the confusion of the Overminds invation now lost and scattered in the wilds.
"Deploy Observers," ordered Tassadar.
Hundreds of Observers flew out of the ships hangers quickly entering high orbital scanning mode along with the ship.
"Do you think Ellen spoke the truth?" asked Fenix standing beside his old friend.
"That had yet to be seen." replied Tassadar. "I do not doubt that Ellen has her own ulterior motives, but She does not seem like the type to lie."
"That has also yet to bee seen?" countered Fenix.
Tassadar laughed a moment from the banter the two were passing back and forth talking about many subjects including the reclamation of Aiur.
All over Aiur hundreds of Observers scanned for Zerg life signs. None were found. But as they scanned they found that quit a few NEW craters had appeared where there were none previously. Much of Aiur had been ruined in the war. But not all had been lost as many places remined clear of any Zerg infestation or signs of battle.
"It seems Ellen was in fact telling the truth." Fenix stated looking at the holo-screens readouts.
"Then we may begin sending Templar forces to secure a place to rebuild our cities and retake Aiur from the emptiness it must be feeling."
-A Solar System Outside the Koprulu Sector-
Selvaria sat on sofa in a nightgown reading a book as the final scouting preparations were completed. It had been a week since they finally reached the Koprulu sector and their plan needed to succeed. Reconnecting to the long lost colony was only the surface goal. They also had the purpose of capturing any and all advanced Protoss technology along with recapturing the Valkyrur-shield that Ellen had taken during her attack on Earth decades previously. Along with finding and securing the Forerunner Keystone fragments. Doing so was as important as destroying the Halos. But even as advanced as it was certainly the UNSC would stand no match against a Halo. The massive structures were variable fortresses that could produce fleets of ships and armies of machines to protect themselves or the local star system from invasion. But even they had their limits and vulnerabilities.
Selvaria closed the book looking out her display screen window as it changed to show the luminous nebula cloud outside. She was anxious at the thought of seeing her mother again. As impossible as it sounds to Selvaria, Ellen had somehow survived having her body destroyed in their last encounter. It must have been a trick of some kind. She won't be so lucky next time. Ellen is the greatest threat to the 'Lights' great work of saving the souls of the weak and the infirm. On the world Ellen had dropped Her off on for her personally trial of survival, Selvaria encountered a race of radiation poisoned people that lived deep under ground for many many generations after their civilization ruined their own planets ecosystem. They were shadows of what they once were and Selvaria did all she could to ease their pain and cure them of their afflictions. But there were just too little resources and try as she might the genetic and radiation damage were over so many generations was simply to much for her to cure on her own. She could help a few people but not all of them. It would take her decades to learn how to cure them completely and how many of them would die during that time.
But then after few months of struggling to help the people of this world, a resplendent alien being arrived. They were of ivory white skin and golden armor with strange forms floating around them. They easily cured the afflictions of the people that Selvaria had for so long had to watch progress from unbearably painful to fatal while she her self easily withstood dew to her Zerg biology. As the people were cured of their affliction they became as healthy as any Terran and their twisted decayed forms grew elegant and beautiful. Even the planet once decayed and barren became covered in new growths of grass and trees. The people of the once dead world worshiped the beings of Light. And as she saw her own limitation the Light told Selvaria of another way to bring salvation to the weak and suffering other then to abandon them. Selvaria felt that the ideals of her parents, that personal understanding, evolution and betterment through striving through difficult trials, scrutiny of ones self and evolution through suffering to obtain greater forms was lacking in a world like this. Selvaria abandoned her old life and embraced the new life with the Light as one of its champions.
After that day She hadn't used any of her Zerg abilities rejecting them completely. Selvaria had little regrets except that her sister was still fighting for their mothers brutal and unfair ways.
"Rindol? Why won't you understand that Mother was wrong."
As she looked thoughtfully out into space through the faux-window a beep sounded from the intercom.
"Lady Selvaria. The Admiral and vice-admiral want to see you." a crewman reported.
"Tell him im on my way. And that this better be important. I like my me time!"
"Y-yes mam."
With another beep the intercom turned off once again leaving Her alone to her thoughts. With a heavy sigh Selvaria got up walking at a brisk pace to her room. Placing her book on the bed side table She opened up her closet pulling out a military uniform with the initials and full name of the Independent Combat Wing on one arm. Placing it on the bed she started undressing. Slipping into the black and gold lined uniform Selvaria walked over to a wall mirror adjusting her hair and cloths. She then slipped her socks and shoes on before leaving.
As she walked the halls of the asteroid ship Selvaria wondered about its systems functionally. The had been rushed in construction since the UNSC wanted three of them instead of one. The massive mobile bases could house and feed hundreds of thousands of people thanks to their internal hydroponics and recycling systems. They were literally like flying cities in space complete with internal shipyards. Though they couldn't construct or service larger ships a fleet of small to medium ships were well within their abilities. And all born from her own mind. Well that wasn't completely true.
Decades before her best friend Hibiki and husband Justin also helped her complete the basic schematics and prototype. However it wasn't too long after the basic prototype for the asteroid ships main power core was completed that the first prototype went critical after a failed test. It was so sudden and quick that Selvaria could do nothing but watch as her husband and best friend were killed in the explosion that also vary nearly killed Her. If not for her Valkyrur powers she would have been killed in the blast or from the exotic radiation.
As the bad memories drifted through her mind Selvaria winced as the emotional pain of loosing two of the people she cared about the most. If those dame politicians hadn't pushed the dead line up so soon then maybe THEY would still be alive. She cursed internally, quickly regaining her composer as several crew passed her. They glanced back some what fearful of that menacing scowl Selvaria had on for a moment before.
Same time in a circular meeting room. The room had a long crescent shaped table at its center. Two men stood next to the far wall watching the fleet through a display window as they prepared for the final warp jump of their extended expedition.
"So Alexi what do you think of this little trip through the galaxy?" asked admiral DuGalle as his flag ship the Aleksander drifted into view.
Alexi Stukov hummed a moment as he thought.
"Our mission is to bring the Lost expedition colonies into the UNSC correct? I have no qualms with being apart of their military escort. However personally I think its a little strange that the Valkyrur and such a large fleet would both be sent for such a purpose. To say nothing of those giant mobile asteroid bases?"
"So you suspect that the higher ups have a secret meaning behind our expedition then? One that they decided to not inform us of." questioned DuGalle.
"Yes." Replied Stukov. "Why else would Selvaria of all people be apart of this whole affair considering that pseudo-religious nonsense she spouts on about. Hard to believe so many people let themselves get pulled into that stuff. Not that im doubting a Valkyrurs power. But why make people believe her powers to heal the sick and dying come from a God?"
DuGalle hummed to him self as he turned back to the fleet in the view screen.
"Its hard to tell really. Though a Valkyrur has considerable psionic power I doubt her so called miracles all come from her own power."
Unbelievingly Stukov turned to the admiral.
"Don't tell me that you believe this whole God thing?"
DuGalle glanced at the vice-admiral Stukov.
"While I am not a religious man I do believe in power. Seeing is believing after all. Regardless of the weather its true or not power is power. Im not saying im going to start falling on my face and start worshipping Selvaria and her so called god, but I believe there may be a real being that's simple calling its self a god influinching her."
Stukov sighed thinking the prospeck through.
"Right or not My loyalties are to humanity and the ideals of the UNSC."
The door suddenly opened behind them for a moment illuminating the darkened room for a moment.
"So what did the admiral and vice-admiral want with me?" asked Selvaria as she joined the two men by the window screen displaying the fleet out side.
DuGalle turned around to face the Valkyrur.
"Im curious about our objectives simply. If our mission is to bring the Terrans in the Koprulu sector, into the UNSC then why have we been secretive about our agents. Wouldn't it be more effective to have the agents we have in the sector act as go diplomatic go between's for the two all parties involved?"
Selvaria clasped her hands together as she explained.
"Its because there is a major war currently being fought between the Azure swarm and the Over-swarm right now. Things are hectic and variable. Its best to keep ourselves as invisible as possible until other wise needed."
"That sounds more like a hunters strategy? Not a diplomatic move." Stukov noted.
"Like I said the sector is unstable." said Selvaria crossing her arms over her chest. "Though we have been more diplomatic regarding the recently formed Dominion. The other two Terran governments will be contacted soon enough."
"So we will directly contact the three Terran governments individually then." DuGalle asked.
"Yes." replied Selvaria. "If one is contacted then the other two will be pressured by the thought of the rivals gaining a advantage over them. Relations between the Dominion, Umojan-Protectorate and the Kel-Morian Combine aren't the best. But if we contact all three governments together in attempt to unify them then they would be less likely to agree. But if we only contact one and let the others think their rival will gain an advantage over them through partnering with us, then they will feel nervous and wonder if they could gain the same advantages to even things out again."
"So its a reverse psychology tactic then," Stukov stated confidently.
"Yes it is. And also we will only invite conflict and disaster if we try to unify the three factions. Its best to play them against each other and get them to agree to a non-aggression treaty with us and each other. Then we can begin regular trade and commerce and slowly integrate them into the greater civilization of humanity."
Admiral DuGalle was impressed at how thoughtful this monster in human skin was. She was of course much older then she looked so that goes with out saying. But the admiral just could not shake the feeling that there were still something wrong with the whole expedition.
"And what will happen if non of the three Terran factions want to join the greater whole of humanity?"
Selvaria went silent as her face became unreadable.
"It is the duty of children of light to ensure that fools who strive for selfish profit over the greater good of the people are properly punished. Trash is still trash. And the world is filled with many that murder, exploit and destroy the lives of others just to please them selves through petty material gain or evil sadistic enjoyment. And then there are fools who do not mean malicious intent but through their own lack of consideration for their own action or incompetence result in painful consequences for others. One of the Lights first tenets is to be mindful of others and their feelings and to be quick and concise when eliminating scum that pray upon the weak other wise they will multiply into criminal organizations that will corrupt society."
Neither DuGalle nor Stukov had any reply to match Selvaria's statement. What she spoke of was simply properly punishing the cruel and criminal behavior, while protecting societies morals and integrity.
"I believe that you have a point miss Selvaria." DuGalle said. "However please remember that free will is also needed to create a real nation. Everyone has their own way of thinking and as a result people clash though not always violently. If you truly wish to create a society where all evil is gone and suffering is no more then you must start with the Human condition. Not even other alien races are except from this fatal flaw."
Blinking thoughtfully Selvaria took in a deep breath.
"I do believe you are right admiral. Starting with free will should be the first step in creating a true utopia. People will always look down on others and resent others unless they are can truly understand each other."
"And how would you do that?" Stukov asked rubbing his chin in thought. The scientist in him thinking the problem over.
Selvaria gave a gental smile.
"Its simple really. We'll recreate the Zergs hive mind."
"What!"
"What?"
Stukov and DuGalle both exclaimed in surprise.
"What do you mean by that?" asked Stukov.
Selvaria turned her eyes to the display screen a moment as she explined.
"It's simple really. If people could feel and connect with each other on a empathic level then they will be able to understand each other far better. It would be much like the Protoss empathic link they call the Khala but more comprehensive like the Zergs hive mind. Which in a way is a mind to mind network like the internet or fleet coms."
"And do you really believe that this will create a utopia?" asked DuGalle.
"It is a step in the right direction." replied Selvaria. "Do you have a better plan? As the numbers of people and complexity of a civilization increases so to does the number of errors individuals make as they have more and more duties to fulfill. This causes families to grow distant and parents don't have enough time to spend with their children teaching them what is proper and expected of them as a member of society. But with a hive mind regardless of distance family will always be able to connect with each other so their bonds wont weaken just because they are off doing their own thing."
"Its hard to find any holes in your logic lady Selvaria." said DuGalle. "However no system or society is perfect. There will always be rebels that wish to change the system. Its only human curiosity after all."
"Hmph! You may be right about that Admiral. I'll take care to not make mistakes then."
-Later-
"Alexi Stukov sir!" called a officer in the hallway.
Alexi turned around to the officer.
"Yes?"
The officer handed the vice-admiral a USB drive saluted.
"Mail from Earth sir. You said you wanted it brought to you as soon as it arrived sir."
"Ah thank you." the Vic-admiral said.
Stukov took the device returning to his quarters. Once back at his private room He took his coat off and placed his hat onto the rack along the wall. Walking over to his desk he sat down inserting the USB drive into the high tech desk. He opened the files playing a video file.
"Hello daddy!" a young teen girl said. " I hope you receive this well. I know your a long long way from Earth. I'm starting collage soon right around the time Samantha will be leaving with her boyfriend. I'll be continuing my training in molecular biology and anatomy to be come a doctor. Ethan also gotten into his first job at the Mars ship yards so he's doing well. And Hilda just gave birth. It was twins, a girl and a boy."
The teenager grabbed something off screen holding up a picture of a red sports car with hover pods.
"Anyway I wanted to show you my first car sweet ain't it. Don't worry I'll drive safely. Also..."
As the teen continued her conversation with the camera Stukov grinned at his youngest daughter Hellen continued blathering about friends, social media, the weather and family. She went on for a good half hour till stopping and the video ended.
Leaning back into his chair Stukov smiled gently as he took the USB drive out and placed it into a cabinet drawer.
-A distant Star System-
Hundreds of green colored bio-explosions impacted across the hull of a Azure swarm Behemoth as a cloud of Over-swarm Scourges slammed into it. In the surrounding area Dozens of other Behemoths were bombarded by more waves of enemy attackers while the two fleets each numbering in the tens thousands battled in the void of space, exchanging fire across hundreds of thousands of miles.
The bridge of Zavaras Alpha Leviathan shook as a group of enemy Behemoths bombarded it from the portside(left).
Glancing towards the group of enemy bio-ships Zavara smirked sending a order to her ship. Across the outer hull of the alpha Leviathan hundreds of Spine cannons stopped firing and pivoted towards the new attackers. All at once they opened fire, sending dozens of super dense, psi-armor reinforced bone shells flying every second into the lead enemy Behemoths, ripping into their hulls apart from the focused barrage. Formations of Azure swarm Scourges surrounding the alpha leviathan converged into streams of living bombs like flowing rivers in space. Simultaneously striking both the enemy Behemoths backs and underbellies catching them in a pincher attack from three angles(front, bottom, top). The azure swarms counter attack continued brutally ripping the enemy forces apart, and one by one they fell to the continues fire.
"Their getting desperate." noted Zavara, watching as the attacking Behemoths were ripped to pieces two or three at a time.
Having dealt with the enemies at her door step Zavara refocused on the main battle field as her fleet exchanged artillery fire with the Cerebrates own fleet. She and her sisters were hunting the Cerebrates down one by one to weaken the Remnants of the Over-swarm currently lead by Daggoth. Ever since fleeing Aiur Daggoth had been up to something and was using the other cerebrates as disposable tools to slow the Azure swarm down. Sensing that time was of the essence Zavara created a special task force to directly hunt and kill the Cerebrates. Piercing through the defenses protecting Daggoth. Something was off and Zavara knew it. If Daggoth was able to complete what ever project he was doing it couldn't bode well for anyone.
"All forces fall back!" Zavara projected to her fleet.
The psionic order was instant and in seconds all of Zavaras bio-ships warped several thousand miles away leaving the Scourges of the enemy forces to fly about without targets. After gaining some distance Zavara sent another order. calling in a reserve fleet she had kept in waiting. But this fleet was quit different from the others. As the Cerebrates fleet turned around to prepare to warp to the enemies new location a second fleet of Behemoths exited the warp right over them. The new fleet accelerating towards the Cerebrates fleet opening fire. This wasn't the first time this tactic was used but it was difficult to counter given the speed at which is required to make it work effectively and several Cerebrates had already paid the price as their fleets were ripped to shreds in previous battles.
As the Over-swarm Behemoths concentrated their fire on the new fleet the Cerebrates forces became slow and distracted if only temporally. In this moment Zavara had her main fleet make another warp jump. This time they would jump to the main enemy fleet protecting the Cerebrate on the planet below. As the warp-gates opened over the planet a storm of Scourges and bio-projectiles flew towards Zavaras fleet as it exited warp-space. The heavy barrage tested the defenses of even the Azure swarms Behemoths and Leviathans. More and more the Cerebrates were learning to target the weak points in the Azure-swarms forces aiming for the Overseers that provided tactical information and the Fins and Tails of the Behemoths and Leviathans to decrease their maneuverability before hitting them with focused fire to break through their armor.
As Zavaras main fleet pivoted their noses down towards the surface they unleashed a swarm of their own Scourges to bombard the enemy fleet, Wyverns to kill off enemy flyers and Mutalisk to attack the enemy ground forces and hive clusters currently being shielded by the enemy fleet below. Once they were fully aimed downwards Zavaras fleet unleashed a counter barrage of spine cannons again ripping through the enemy forces armor much easier then any other weapon she had. As the two fleets continued exchanging fire Zavara's fleet continued dropping in altitude using the planets gravity to give her forces attacks just a little extra force.
As her fleet dropped closer to their enemy counterparts below Zavara used her Overseers peeking out from the sides of the bio-ships to scan the enemies forces for the location of the Cerebrate. The considerable psionic power of the Cerebrates was a double edged sword. On one hand it allowed them the ability to control many millions of Zerg all at once and open warp-gates. But on the other it was like a signal flare that could be traced back to them. But in the middle of a fleet of hundreds of Behemoths finding the exact location of the Cerebrate would still be a difficult prospect. As Zavara's fleet pressed their attack more warp-gates opened above her. Half of the enemies first fleet appeared above them and quickly began bombarding their exposed backs.
As the Enemy fleet opened up on her forces undefended backs Zavaras Leviathan shook violently as its ablative-creep skin was continually struck from both above and below. Within the first few minutes of the flanking attack dozens of her Behemoths sustained heavy damage and a few were killed. Ablative psi-reinforced creep armor was a superb defense but even it had its limitations as it was better suited at defusing energy weapon blasts then blocking physical projectiles. The heavier and faster the projectile was traveling at the less effective the ablative armor worked. It still greatly reduced damaged received but if a great many projectiles struck the same spot repeatedly then the ablative armor would be weakened until the continues attacks broke through.
As the Cerebrates first fleet bombarded Zavaras fleet from above they launched flocks of Mutalisks to hunt down the enemy Overseers. Countering Zavara redirected all of her Wyverns to protect the Overseers while they searched for the Cerebrate. Two clouds of thousands of zerg flyers one of Mutalisk and the other of Wyverns clashed firing back at forth as they met each other in aerial combat. Slashing biting and firing all their ammo at each other as the sky became red with their blood.
While the Wyverns protected their backs the Overseers continued their scan for the Cerebrates location. The mid air battle between the two forces went on for another two minutes resulting in the deaths of several dozens of Behemoths and a pair of Leviathans on Zavaras side while almost a fifty Behemoths had been killed on the enemies. Still Zavara's time was running out as the Wyverns couldn't keep all of the Overseers safe, their numbers dropping as the minutes ticked by.
As the numbers of her forces dropped to under half their original number. Her personal Leviathan took multiple heavy hits across its nose as six enemy Behemoths flew up from the surface now only a few dozen miles below now. The six enemy Behemoths accelerated straight for her firing as they ascended. It seems the Cerebrate had found her before she found him. But just as her alpha leviathan shook from enemy fire they found it.
Opening her eyes Zavara taped into the Overseers senses and saw the location of the Cerebrate. Not wasting any time or what was left of her fleet she ordered all the surviving forces to converge on the targets location accelerating towards the planet aiming for a mountain range a few miles to the southeast. At Zavaras order the twenty Behemoths escorting her Leviathan focused their fire on the six enemy Behemoths killing two and wounding another two. With another order Zavara sent two of her own Behemoths onto a crash course slamming into the last two enemy Behemoths blocking her path. The impacts sent organic debri flying from the hulls of the four Behemoths pushing them out of the way. Now with a open path Zavara's Leviathan accelerated towards her target followed by over a hundred Behemoths. A mere one tenth of her original fleet but enough to get the job done. None of the Cerebrates went down easy and this one wouldn't be any different. The intensity of the enemy attacks multiplied as they got closer and closer nearly reaching the ground now. Then just at the right moment Zavara's fleet pulled their noses up rapidly decelerating just before colliding with the enemy fleet below.
The two fleets collided just a mile over the mountains where the Cerebrate was hiding sending damaged and wounded Zerg bio-ships flying and drifting in all directions as the two fleets were almost hopelessly mixed together down. The previously ranged battle between fleets turned into a mixed melee as the two forces tried dislodging from each other. Both sides had trouble fighting effectively in this close knife fight environment, so both tried to reassemble into proper formations getting distance from the other. The constant point blank attacks both sides were shooting at the other only made things worse. However the chaos of the sky battle was exactly what Zavara wanted as it made it easy for Her and her elite forces to descend to the surface to hunt for the Cerebrate.
Inside a deep a cave network no-doubt carved by the Cerebrates forces Zavara lead a force of several hundred Azure Hunter-killers, Roaches, Alpha Roaches, Zerglings, Alpha-Zerglings. The forces numbers were small in comparison to what Zavara wanted to bring but scattering all her ground forces across the mountains was necessary to keep the enemy from identifying her location again while also spreading her search net wide. Several Hours passed as the chaos of the battle in the sky continued. Now because of the close proximity of the fleets and the mixed forces the Cerebrates force were now finding it a challenge to not hit their own forces as Zavaras forces speedily slipped in between the enemies own making the friendly fire worse. The Leviathans Nydus tendrils were especially useful in grabbing and infiltrating enemy bio-ships. One after the other the Cerebrates Behemoths were ripped apart from the inside by waves of Banelings before being blasted from the sky. Multiple bodies of Behemoths from both sides (but mostly from the Cerebrates forces) had already dropped from the sky creating a small explosion of chitin and blood as they impacted the ground in a make shift graveyard. Despite this however Zavaras forces were gradually diminishing in numbers. It was a race against the clock as Zavara risked her own life to take that of the Cerebrates. Either she would kill it first or the Cerebrates forces would kill off her fleet and then send its full forces after her on the ground.
Zavara leaped into the air slamming down onto a enemy Hydralisk. Pulling her hand and extending her claws into a spade back she plunged it in-between the enemies armored plates ripping into organs and tissue. A second later one of her Hydralisk charged in lifting its own triple bladed arms and swung, piercing enemies neck and slicing through major arteries. Gushing streams of blood shot out the enemy Hydralisk but it wasn't dead yet and raised its own bladed arm. Zavara leaped away as the blade slashed at her. Leaving the two Hydralisks to fight Zavara joined the main battle. Her Roaches had blocked a pair of tunnels keeping a horde of enemy Zerglings from charging in. While her Zerglings and Hydralisk were already engaged with the enemy ripping into a small army of enemy Hydralisk blocking the way while her Hunter-killers were scouting ahead.
Roaring a pair of Zerglings charged Her. With a swing of her hand and a burst of psionic power they were torn in two. Looking to her right she saw a group of enemy Hydralisk pushing a small group from her own forces into a wall slaughtering them one at a time. Zavara ran over spreading her wing blades. With a thrust she impaled two enemy Hydralisk, then with a twist she ripped them in half from the waist up. Three enemy Zerglings turned to her and lunged. Zavara reached up catching one by its head and squeezed crushing its skull. The other two landed to both sides ready to her from behind, but in a flash of movement Zavara swung the Zergling in her hand using it like a club. Slapping the others away before blasting them all apart with psionic blasts.
Once they were dealt with Zavara used her psionic blasts at range to support her own forces, clearing out the densest parts of the enemy forces. The tide of battle quickly changed in her forces favor. In minutes her forces had slaughtered the remaining enemy forces and continued onwards moving deeper into the network of tunnels. Farther ahead the Hunter killers had cleared a underground hive cluster of enemies and destroyed all enemy units while leaving several buildings including a Lair untouched. Walking up to them Zavara placed a hand on the Lair. Pouring her will and power into it she converted its loyalty and essence to that of her Broods ripping it from Cerebrates control.
"These will help."
Zavara quickly ordered the spawning of Drones. While the converted Lair started releasing Larvae to morph into new Drones Zavara went around converting the other bio-structures to her side. The Cerebrate was even now trying to reverse her efforts and retake control over the Lair and other structures. But every time she easily defeated its attempts now that the Liar had her own essence woven into its own.
The new Drones were sent out with a defensive escort to recover the bodies in the surrounding tunnels while a few Zerglings were spawned. Keeping her Hunter Killers around her new hive cluster Zavara sent the majority of her other forces out to scout the area. Several hours passed as the scouts encountered and killed or were killed off by the Cerebrates forces. But at this time full production of units was under way. With her forces numbers increasing Zavara gathered half of her forces and attacked another enemy hive cluster Her scouts had found. It was relatively close and to save time she created a Nydus Hub. After a half hour of waiting Zavaras Nydus worm had borrowed its way to the enemy hive cluster. Bursting through the cave wall the Nydus worm roared, expelling its masters army directly into their base.
The Cerebrates forces converged on the Nydus worm weakening defenses on the main entrances. Taking the opening she knew would open up Zavaras main forces charged the Hive cluster. Zerglings and Hydralisk with a few Roachs in front of their lines laid siege to the Enemy hive clusters frontal defenses while the Nydus worm kept the main hive clusters defenders from joining in reinforcing the frontline. Then once the reserve and main defenders were occupied Zavara deployed her third force. From the walls of the cave Roaches emerged burrowing in from multiple sides. Spine crawlers whos essence had been by the Over-swarm taken in a previous battle fired upon the new attackers but the Roaches thick armor allowed them to shrug off the defenses attacks. Shrieks and roars bellowed from the dozens of Roachs pouring into the hive cluster from all sides. Even as a few Roaches were killed in their attack the majority got through to the defenses and started ripping them apart until the hive cluster was wide open. The few Zerglings and Hydralisk spawned during the attack were quickly overwhelmed as the Roaches slaughtered them and any new larvae. With the Hive cluster all but taken Zavara her self joined the front lines quickly massacring the remaining enemy forces. She lead her victorious army into the captured Hive cluster and like the previous on converted it to her side.
With two hive clusters Zavara expended her scouting range and multiplied her forces. Over the course of several hours Zavara captured several more hive clusters until finally pinpointing the Cerebrates location. Now with a sizable army she sent five Nydus worms directly at the Cerebrates final Hive cluster while her army attacked and took several more hive clusters. The two pronged attack brought more resources into Zavaras forces while hitting the Cerebrate directly slowing the response of its reserve forces. This allowed Zavara to chip away at its defenses while keeping the Cerebrates main forces occupied. And even though the direct attack on the Cerebrate failed it did keep the Over-swarms forces from using their superior numbers against her.
Now with around a dozen hives under her control Zavara prepared for her final attack. But the Cerebrate had other planes as the earth rumbled sand shook. Smirking Zavara knew what was happening. The Cerebrate had spawned it's own Nydus worms and was even now burrowing at her newly converted hive clusters. Zavara was wondering why the Cerebrate was holding back and now it was showing its cards. Even so She predicted this and planed accordingly. Multiply enemy Nydus worms burst through the cavern walls unleashing a tied of enemy forces into three of the captured hive clusters. If they are successful then the Over-swarm will gain all of the essence from the hive clusters and will be able to produce the same Gen-1 and 2 Zerg types as the Azure swarm.
However as the Cerebrates forces poured out from the Nydus worms they were met by successive waves of Banelings. The living bombs threw them selves at the Nydus worms exploding in showers of green acids that melted everything they landed on. In mere minutes the Cerebrates attacks were blocked ending in failure. But being cunning and intelligent the Cerebrates always had a back up plane. Even as the war in the skies continued the Cerebrate diverted some of its Behemoths to the surface to deploy their ground forces. While Zavara had been taking one hive cluster after the other the Cerebrate was closing its trap on her. Again the Brood queen smirked to her self. The Cerebrate was behaving exactly like she had thought. Even as a new army rampaged through the tunnels closing in on her position Zavara was confident in victory.
Just as Ellen had teached her once before, if you always over estimate your opponents expecting them to counter and defeat your forces then it forces you to come up with ways to defeat them. Perhaps tactics and planes that you would not have normally come up with otherwise.
"Now its time for a crushing defeat."
With a smile and a wave of her hand Zavara gave the secret force of Roachs the order. A army of Roachs began their mission and started burrowing through the support system of the tunnels weakening the integrity of the cave network. The Cerebrates reinforcements caught and killed hundreds of Roachs but no mater how many they killed more seemed to be more. Eventually the tunnels could take no more a massive tremor shook the caves. Boulders and rubble fell onto the Cerebrates forces as the tunnels collapsed around them, killing many and trapping others. Though this only temporarily slowed the survivors down in such a environment as that the Roachs had the advantage. Even as the Cerebrates reinforcements burrowed through the rubble of the collapsed tunnels Zavaras Roaches hunted them killing them off one or two at a time. Their numbers dwindled more and more until they were wiped out. While this was happening Zavara lead her main forces in a full charge into the Cerebrates remaining forces. After cutting through several more hive clusters She and her elite force of Hunter-killers finally arrived at the Cerebrates hive cluster.
Four Nydus worms burst out from the walls opening their maws and pouring forth a tied of Zerglings followed by waves of Banelings. Spine crawlers and Hydralisk along with a dozen Ultralisk ripped through any of the Brood queens forces that dare come closer. Even as the Cerebrates force held her forces off Zavara ripped through the main frontal forces of the Cerebrate. Virtually all of the tunnels surrounding the Cerebrate were full of Zerg. It was a last desperate gamble to hold off the Brood queens forces long enough for more reinforcements to arrive. The Cerebrate wasn't wrong as most of Zavaras fleet had been eliminated by now. Even though Her second fleet joined in on the planet bound fleet battle it was not looking good for the Azure swarms fleet.
Knowing she had little time left Zavara opted to rush the Cerebrate with a warp jump directly into its hive cluster. While the Over-swarm could open vast warp gates in space depending on their numbers the Brood queens of the Azure swarm could open smaller warp gates to virtually any where they intended. The differences between the two swarm was thus that while the Over-swarm may have the advantage in space maneuvering their fleets and forces across space in larger numbers, the Azure-swarm could precisely target weak points in the enemy forces with elite forces. And that was exactly what Zavara was doing here. Focusing her mind and power She opened a warp gate right over the Cerebrates hive cluster. Once fully opened a tied of Banelings poured out from the hole in the sky. The Cerebrate looked up as the green stream of living bombs fell onto its hive cluster. Dozens of explosions went off every second as the Banelings kept falling through the hole in the sky. Spawning pools, Hydralisk dens, Lairs and Hatcheries were all demolished as the acid splashed everywhere. In minutes the area surrounding the blast zone was barren with countless half melted corpses littering the area. With a big hole in its hive cluster and defenses the azure-swarms forces pouring out from Nydus worms were able to break through swarming around the defenders on all sides. Now that the way was clear Zavaras forces broke through flooding the enemies hive cluster.
From her own hive cluster Zavara watched through the eyes of her forces as the Cerebrates forces were overwhelmed and cut apart until the Cerebrate its self was the only one left. Still it put up a good fight killing hundreds of Zavaras forces before suffering even minor wounds. Still as much as Zavara would have liked to watch her forces rip the Cerebrate apart like a army of ants overwhelming a larger insect She just didn't have that luxury. Even now the army of Roaches she left to protect her rear flank were being overwhelmed by the numbers of enemy forces now burrowing through the ground.
Leaping through the warp gate and closing it behind her Zavara landed in amongst the battlefield. In the distance the Cerebrate lashed out with its scythes easily killing droves of her forces with every swing. Closing her eyes Zavara brought her psi-armor level up to three. It was a significant drain on her powers but worth it if she was fighting a larger foe. With a relaxed expression Zavara casually strode forwards into the fray. As soon as the Brood queen used her powers on her self the Cerebrate took notice. To anyone able to sense psionic energy Zavara was showing up like a flare at the moment. Both swarm leaders locked eyes staring each other down. Then with a bellowing roar the Cerebrate charged baring its acid coated fangs. Jerking its head back and forth the Cerebrate fired a acidic projectile. Zavara leaped up into the air firing a psi-orb. The Cerebrate brought up one of its arms blocking the attack at the cost of cracking one of its scythes. Rearing up like a snake the Cerebrate fired spines from its head filling their air with projectiles. Crossing her arms and legs Zavara blocked the attack and with a flap of her wings landed in- front of the Cerebrate. The Cerebrate slashed at her with its giant kaiser blades. Dodging side to side Zavara evaded the attacks gracefully until reaching out.
With great surprise the Cerebrate watched as the much smaller being grabbed and scattered the tip of one of its scythes with ease. Taken aback by the even the Cerebrate was stunned. Taking the opportunity for all its worth Zavara leaped forwards punching the Cerebrate underbelly. Vast amounts of Psionic power transferred through the punch into the Cerebrates body becoming destructive waves of force. The waves of force ripped through the bones, muscles and organs of the Cerebrate causing pressurised streams of blood to shoot out of its body. Roaring in pain the Cerebrate fell to the ground most of its body bleeding from the instantaneous damage. Zavara walked up to the Cerebrates head ready to land the final blow. But being a true Zerg the Cerebrate fought with all it had. Closing all four of its arms around the Brood queen Zavara was grasped caught between four kaiser blades. The pressure was not enough to damage her but it was annoying. Extending her wings Zavara pushed the blades off her body. The psionic energy reinforcing her body greatly boosting her physical strength. Hanging in between the kaiser blades with her wings Zavara focused gathering more of her power into two ten meter long psi-blades.
Replicating the Templars psi-blades was a difficult technique to copy especially with out a projector system like the Zealots bracer but more then worth it given the destructive power they have. In a single stroke all four of the Cerebrates arms were severed. With a high pitched shriek the Cerebrate fell exhausted from the effort. Its body was regenerating but not fast enough. It knew it had lost. But at least it held on as long as it could. Zavara stepped up to the Cerebrated and leaped up pulling her arm back. Striking the Cerebrates skull as she landed another wave of destructive energy ripped through the its body killing the beast. Pulling her bloody hand out from the hole she had made Zavara gave a satisfied huff before ripping into the brain devouring it. Like any true Zerg she ate her opponents evolving and improving through taking in their essence into herself.
As her body flared with energy Zavara felt light as air. The burden of her control over her vast armies of Zerg lessening greatly as the efficiency of her psionic abilities improved thanks to her Cerebrates essence.
"Ah! that was refreshing!"
Turning back to her army surrounding her Zavara could also feel the minds of the Cerebrates forces now in disarray. Without a controlling will they would eventually become a Wild-swarm. Empress Ellen had ordered the complete annihilation of all such Swarms as they pose a significant risk to all sentient beings including the Azure-swarm should they be allowed to grow in power and numbers. But Zavara wanted to experiment with her new powers seeing it as a opportunity to improve her ability to control the essence of enemy swarms. Reaching out with her mind She attempted to take control over the now master-less brood. She struggled at first as the collective effort to control the whole Brood was too much so she changed gears focusing on only a part of the Brood at a time. After several minutes of focus a portion of the Behemoth fleet submitted to her control. Grinning in satisfaction She redirected the new converted units to attack their former allies. With increased numbers Zavaras depleted fleet counter attacked sending waves of projectiles and Scourges into the enemy fleets. Without a commanding leader the individual Behemoths of the former Cerebrates fleet all acted on their own with little coordination. One by one they fell to the focused fire and group tactics of Zavaras fleet. Within a hour all of the enemy Behemoths were eliminated leaving Zavaras forces alone as the victors.
-Chapter End-
Note
Just to give a heads up Im going to start a new story with My self-insert character NOOBZILLA. It will be placed in the future after the end of this story. But the two will not be otherwise connected to closely. Ellen may be in the new story but not much. There won't be much spoilers if any for the ending of this story.
Im only doing the first chapter to test the waters though I may rewrite it depending on how it goes. And yes it WILL continue NOOBZILLAS story and it WILL feature traveling the Multi-verse/Omni-verse/Fractal-verse as its main theme.
Im doing this because ive been wanting to do this new story for quit some time now and at present I have extra time to get it done, if only one chapter for now. I may write more chapters of the new story later on if I got the time but I wont go full time with it until this story is done.
