Arthur's p.o.v
Lounging around the hotel room, waiting for Sirena to come back, bored. I had already called room service and ordered a few beers and waited. Yeah, I could have gone home by now, but I wanted to talk to her, before we went our separate ways. Thoughts started to clog my mind and I started to wonder what went wrong in our relationship, as I downed my last beer. I can admit, I have some type of abandonment issues, because of my mother, but Sirena knew that and promised she would never leave me. I knew she had to go back to Atlantis every once in a while, to give the king updates about the surface life, which was a lie. The real reason she was on the surface was because of me. She fell in love with me and I fell in love with her. The people who knew the real reason about Sirena going back and forth were her parents, my father and Vulko. I remember how naive and curious she was about everything and asking me about everything and how big her eyes got after, when she heard a loud noise or tasted something that was new or answered her questions and her big smile, that made her dimples pop out. Sure, we got married young. But did we care? No! Sirena still had to keep it a secret from everyone in Atlantis, except her parents. Because if anyone else knew, she married the late Queen's bastard son, she would be shunned from Atlantis or even worse, executed. All for treason! Yeah I know, it's crazy! But when everything started going downhill, was when she told me that she was getting a feeling, that she was being watched. I just told her to shake it off and to forget about it. Then she started getting sick and weak, I just thought it was because she was going back and forth from home to Atlantis, every other hour. And out of the blue, a red head comes up to me and tells me that my wife was cheating, the same red head I encountered when steppenwolf attacked Atlantis. I was in my feelings that day and I never gave Sirena a chance to explain herself, until I found out that she had my kid. Leaning back in my seat, I started having a flashback.
-Flashback-
(Teenage Arthur and Sirena)
Sitting on the shore, Arthur watched the waves crash into the shore and disappear, back into the ocean, thinking about his mother that he hardly remembers. In the middle of the current, a figure was rising and coming closer to the shore. Walking out of the water, Sirena came onto shore. "Arthur! Arthur! Arthur!" she called out, running towards him. He looked up and smiled, when he saw Sirena running towards him. Jumping into his arms, dropping her trident, "hi Sirena." Arthur greeted, hugging the wet girl. "What are we going to do today?" Sirena asked, with a big smile. "I was thinking about going into town and explore." Arthur answered, making her eyes go big. "But we always stay on the beach!" she cried out. Shrugging his shoulders, "something different." he stated, as he grabbed her trident and they made their way back to his house. "Something different?" Sirena repeated, following him. Walking inside the house, Sirena looked around the house, everything was foreign to her. "Ok, before we go into town, you need to change. You can't go out like that." Arthur said, pointing at Sirena's outfit. She looked herself over, "what's wrong with what I'm wearing?" she asked. "Well, humans don't know that Atlantis exists." he answered, making it click in Sirena's head. "Come on, let's find you something to wear." Arthur ordered, as they walked towards her room.
Digging through his closet, he pulled out clothes that he thought would fit Sirena. Tossing them towards her, she grabbed the shirt and started stripping off her clothes. "WHOA!" Arthur cried out. "WHAT?!" Sirena yelled back, quickly covering herself. "Wait until I leave the room!" Arthur warned, rushing out of the room, with a blush on his face. Exiting the room, fully clothed, "how do I look?" she asked, twirling around. "You look, beautiful. Uhh, I mean, great." he muttered. "Okay, let's go show you a whole new world." Arthur said, opening the door for Sirena and walking out of the house. They made their way towards the local convenience store to grab some snacks. "What's this place?" Sirena asked, looking around. "This is the local convenience store, a small and cheaper version of a grocery store." Arthur answered, escorting her down one of the isles and grabbing stuff. Paying for their stuff and making their way out. "Ok, I want you to try this." Arthur said, opening a can of soda. Sirena took the can from him, inspecting the can, before taking a sip. Arthur could hold in his laugh, because of the face Sirena made as she was drinking the soda. "What was tha...BUUURRRP!" she started, but finished with a burp, which completely broke Arthur into a fit of laughter. "That's a soda and the noise you made was a burp." he answered. "Do you like it?" he asked, as Sirena took another sip. "Yeah, but do I have to make that noise every time?" she asked. "Sometimes. People always say, 'excuse me' after they burp." Arthur explained, eating Sirena and taking everything in. Digging in the bag and pulled out a chocolate bar, "here's a candy bar or a chocolate bar, which ever you want to call it." He said, as Sirena finished the rest of the soda and eyed the chocolate bar. Arthur opened the wrapper and gave it to her. He watched as she looked at the bar, before taking a bite out of it. The next thing he knew, the chocolate bar was gone and chocolate was around her mouth. "I'm guessing you like chocolate." he muttered, wiping her face, as she nodded her head. As their day went one, Sirena encountered her first dog. At first, it scared her and ran away from it, but Arthur explained that the dog wouldn't hurt her. When she learned that the dog wasn't a threat, she let the dog lick her face. They went to the park, where all the children were playing and their parents were watching. He showed her where the local school was and explained what happened there and he even showed Sirena his secret hiding places, when he needed time for himself. Walking back to his house, Sirena wrapped her arm around Arthur's and intertwined her finger with his, while resting her head on his shoulder. Arthur was tense and unsure, but he relaxed with a smile appearing on his face.
-End of Flashback-
Arthur's p.o.vFor someone who trained and fought in battles with her father and from Atlantis, she was afraid of that dog. "Arthur?" I heard Sirena call out and the door shut. I looked up, with a raised eyebrow, as I watched her set down a box of pizza and took off her jacket. I studied her for a moment, realizing that the feelings I've always had for her, were coming to the surface.
