Chapter 36

There was nothing left of the warehouse. Just the disturbed ground the warehouse sat on. No twisted metal or beams. No cement, no broken glass, no nothing. It was like the Earth just swallowed it like it did Atlantis.

The Hunters had gathered around the small group overlooking the rubble. No one spoke. It was then that Chuck appeared.

"Heaven and Hell are stable" Chuck said though his voice sounded as though he were holding back the sorrow only the loss of a child could bring. In this case that loss was his son Castiel.

Chuck took a deep break and continued.

"Some leviathans escaped and need to be found and disposed of."

Chuck looked around knowing what he was about to request might not be met very well.

"Though some of you don't know it, you are Vessels for Angels."

Chuck could hear the murmurs of disbelief from the Hunters.

He snapped his fingers and Several Hunters walked forward; Ben was one of them.

Chuck whispered to Ben.

"With the exception of the Hunters that I brought forward tell the rest they may return home."

Then Chuck turned back to the Hunters and spoke.

"I know some Hunters lost their lives today. Please know that their Families will be taken care of. I will see to it."

After several moments of silence Ben turned to the Hunters. He had tears on the verge of falling.

"GO HOME" he said.

"You saved the world today. Never forget what you are." Ben looked at them all.

"YOU ARE HUNTERS AND FAMILY." Ben held his weapon high in the air as he said the next phrase he remembered from so long ago.

"FAMILY DON'T END WITH BLOOD"

A Cheer went up so loud that it could be heard in Heaven and Hell.

As Hunters dispersed Ben turn to Chuck and the other hunters that remained. There were an even dozen counting himself. He asked the silent question.

'What now'

Chuck addressed the remaining Hunters.

"I need each of you the say YES to the angel who will possess you." He saw the worry on their faces. "You will be in charge; the Angel will only take over once a leviathan is found so that they can destroy it." Chuck finished waiting for their answers.

Slowly eleven Hunters said yes. And as an Angel possessed them their eyes glowed blue for a split second.

They dispersed to do what Hunters did best...Hunt.

Ben was the last but when he said 'YES' nothing happened. He looked at Chuck.

"You will be needed by your friend." He said as he looked over at Meg.

Understanding dawned on Ben and he walked over to take Meg in his arms as she wept.

Ben turned her away from the mountain rubble that was Castiel's Grave. As he was staring at it, the rubble and ground started shaking. The others looked on also.

A grey streak shot up from the rubble into the sky.

"He's Alive" Ben whispered.
