"Zoro." Nami crooned sweetly, standing in front of the napping swordsman.
Senses on full alert, he slowly cracked an eye open, eyeing her warily while he waited to hear what she wanted now and how it was going to affect the rest of his nap.
"Get that captain of ours to calm down. He got into the candy stash again." She snapped before checking the Log and stomping off to correct their course.
Zoro blinked after her in surprise before sighing and getting up, listening for his wayward, hyper (more then normal) captain. Briefly, he tried to remember who thought it was a good idea to not immediately stop the managers of the candy factory on Fishman Island from offering to send regular shipments of free candy in gratitude for freeing them from Big Mom's control.
It hadn't taken the Strawhats long after getting the first shipment to realize what a bad idea it was to accept the offer.
Now, a few pieces weren't going to do much, he was already naturally hyper (even if he'd been much calmer since they got back together after two years apart), so they didn't notice anything at first.
But the more he ate, the more he seemed to bounce, the quicker he seemed to move and talk, the harder he was to keep track of, the more he annoyed everybody else, and the quicker he seemed to get bored.
It wasn't long before Sanji compared it to watching somebody on a caffeine high that they realized what was going on. It didn't take long after that for Nami and Robin to confiscate the remaining candy and start rationing it out. They couldn't just call the factory and tell them not to send anymore, according to Nami that would be rude.
(What did they care about that? They were pirates! Granted they weren't exactly your typical pirate... he suspected that Nami just enjoyed getting something in such a large amount that it was actually quite expensive... for free.)
Since then, Nami made sure to keep careful track of the days so they knew when the next shipment was arriving, and could hide it away while the others kept Luffy occupied.
However, every once in a while Luffy would find it and get into it. And Zoro for some reason seemed to be the only one capable of calming him down.
Like right now.
He sighed and snagged Luffy's arm when the rubber man went bouncing past, laughing in excitement. "Zoro!" Luffy cheered.
The way Luffy was always so happy and excited to see any of them never failed to make them feel all warm and fuzzy inside, Zoro almost smiled warmly before he stopped himself (he had an image to uphold) and tugged Luffy to the stern, where he could give the captain enough of a work-out to make him come down from his sugar-high, and fall into the obligatory post sugar-high nap.
Two hours later, when Nami went by only to see both Luffy and Zoro napping the deck, in the same spot she'd originally found Zoro in, she could only sigh fondly before going to bug Franky to see if his new 'Luffy-proof' hiding place for the candy was ready yet.
Let's hope this one was actually Luffy-proof...
