Carry On

Ezra and Sabine had packed up their children and everything important and left Lothal. Ezra still hated the idea of running from the New Republic, but he also knew what Mothma would do were she to get her hands on him. Sabine had called her parents not long after Luke left Lothal. They were more than happy to have them to come and live on Krownest full time. Hera had also been caught up on the story and was told where they were going. Ezra was sure that Hera would not use that information to come for them.

At that current moment, the Gauntlet was hurdling through hyperspace. Ezra and Sabine were in the cockpit, and the girls were playing on the bed in the main quarters. The bed was large enough so all three girls could jump around and do whatever they wanted. It wasn't like the bunkbeds that were on the Ghost. Mira and Anna were bouncing up and down and, in turn, bouncing Celeste really high up. The fun came to an end when Celeste fell off the bed and started to cry. Mira rushed out of the room.

"Mommy, Mommy, Mommy!" Mira shouted running into the cockpit.

"What's wrong sweetheart?"

"Me and Anna were bouncing Cel on the bed, then she f-fell off and I think she broke her arm." Mira was worried, not for herself but her sister.

"Alright, I'll go and check on her. Ez, you good up here." Ezra just nodded his head in response.

Sabine and Mira came back in to see Anna and Celeste on the bed and Celeste holding her right arm and crying.

"Alright ad'ika, let's take a look-see." Sabine took Celeste's arm and gently moved it around. Celeste started crying harder, asking her to stop. "Okay, it's definitely broken. Why don't we go to the med bay and get if all wrapped up?"

"O-Okay Mommy." Celeste held her arm as her mother carried her to the med bay.

Ezra had set the ship in auto pilot and walked back to the bedroom to check on Mira and Anna. He walked in to see them crying and holding each other. "Hey you two. What happened here?"

"We were jumping on the bed and Celeste fell off." Anna started.

"Mommy thinks her arm is broken." Mira added.

"Daddy? Are we in trouble?" Anna asked

"No, you're not in trouble. What happened to Cel was an accident. I know that, and she knows that too. Her arm will be sore for a couple of days, but she will be ok." Ezra gathered up his daughters in a hug. "We are not mad at you for this. Like I said, it was an unfortunate accident. That being said, you do need to be more careful with her. She's not quite like you two."

"What do you mean Daddy?" Mira asked.

"Well, you know how you and Anna were carried around in Mommy's tummy forever? Celeste was not. Her Daddy was a bad man, and her Mommy was your caretaker when you were really little. She died when Celeste was born, so we took her in." Ezra explained to them. They seemed to catch on.

"But you said she's not like us." Anna stated in confusion.

"Well you know how I am a Jedi?" Both girls nodded. "When you were born, and even before, I could sense that you two would be very strong with the force. So, you two could grow up to be Jedi."

"But since Celeste has a different Mommy and Daddy, she can't." Mira finished.

"However, that doesn't make her any less your sister." He squeezed them. "So, let's go check on her. Shall we?"

The trio walked down the hallway to the med bay.

In the med bay about 15 minutes earlier

Sabine set Celeste on the table and got some bacta cream. After that she used a small scanner to locate the place of the fracture. Celeste squirmed as she felt the cold gel being rubbed on her arm. She didn't feel the pain anymore, in fact, she didn't feel her arm anymore.

"Mommy? I can't feel my arm." Celeste said, slightly worried.

Sabine laughed. "Yea, bacta tends to do that to ya. If feels numb for a while, then you get feeling back when the pain is gone." She sat next to her adopted daughter and held her close, being careful with her arm.

"Mommy I have a question."

"Yes baby?"

"Why don't I look like you or Daddy?"

That was a question Sabine was not ready for. She knew it would happen one day where Celeste would begin to question why she was different.

"What do you mean sweetie?"

"Well, Mira has dark blue hair like Daddy. A-And Anna has blue eyes like Daddy. Mira has one eye like you too." Celeste was always curious about Mira's two eye colors.

Sabine sighed and sat Celeste on her lap. "You see ad'ika, I carried Mira and Anna around in my tummy for a long time and gave birth to them. That was not the case with you." Seeing Cel's confused face, she continued. "You have another Mommy and Daddy. Your Daddy was a bad man and tried to hurt you and your Mommy. Thanks to Ezra, he didn't. Your Mommy was a dear friend of ours for a long time. She looked after the twins when we couldn't. When you were born, your Mommy got hurt." Seeing the guilty expression on her face she held the small girl.

"So, I hurt my Mommy?" She sniffed.

"No no no, sweetie. You didn't hurt her. Some people have trouble having a baby. After you were born, she gave you to us. But not before giving you something very special."

"What did she give me?"

"Your name." Sabine held up a small mirror and showed Celeste her eyes. They were a bright blue. "She said that your eyes reminded her of the star when you go through hyper space. So, she named you Celeste." This seemed to make Cel feel better.

"So, you're not my Mommy?"

"Well, it depends on how you look at it. We take care of you, we feed you, give you a place to sleep, we play with you and the twins. Most of all, we love you very very much. To me and Ezra, it doesn't matter that you aren't naturally ours. All that matters is that we love you as much as your sisters. Does that make sense?" Sabine hoped that Celeste wasn't mad. Even though she was young, she was very smart.

"Yea, I think it does. You are still my Mommy and Daddy is still my Daddy. Mira and Anna are still my sisters, even though they aren't really my sisters." Celeste smiled. She understood that she was loved by her family even thought that she was adopted by them. Sabine let out the breath she didn't know she was holding.

There was a knock on the door and Sabine answered. "Come in."

Ezra, Mira and Anna, all filed in to see Celeste.

"Hey little one, how are you feeling?" Ezra asked picking her up.

"I'm okay Daddy." She beamed as she used her one good arm to hug his neck.

"Sabine, we need to talk. In private." Ezra said as he put Celeste down.

"Ok. Now you three go back to playing, but Celeste, be careful." Sabine smiled at her.

"Okay Mommy." Celeste hugged her leg and ran after the twins.

"So, I told the twins that Celeste wasn't really their sister." Ezra started hoping Sabine wasn't mad.

"Yea, I told Celeste that we weren't really her parents too." Sabine chuckled at Ezra's face.

"How'd she take it?"

"She understands, I think. She is a very smart girl, so everything seemed to click. What about the twins?"

"They got it. I could also sense a new protective side to them. I had to explain that Celeste was not force sensitive and could not be a Jedi. I think they found that as a new reason to be protective of her."

"I guess that's what it's like being an older sister. Thanks to Tristan, I know from experience."

"And me too. You told me a long time ago that I was like a little brother to you. That's funny seeing where we ended up."

"Yea. The force works in mysterious ways, I guess. Come on, we should be close to Krownest by now."

The two walked back to the cockpit when they heard voices in the bedroom. They stopped and listened in.

"So, Mommy told me that you are not my real sisters." They heard Celeste say.

"Yea. Daddy told us the same thing." Anna replied.

"But that doesn't mean you aren't our sister to us." Mira added.

"Yea, Mommy said that her and Daddy love me like they love you two, and that's all that matters."

"She's right, we love you too." The twins hugged the youngest girl but were careful of her arm. The proud parents smiled at the scene in front of them. Everything was gonna be okay with the girls.

I figured that this conversation would happen at some point. I wanted to wait till they were older, but I was able to come up with an idea using this info in a later chapter. Hey! Stop beating me to the fun part! I know you guys are smart but come on. Alright, see you guys and girls tomorrow. TB out!
