Maggie's bike spins to a tight stop beside the curb its tires leaving dark traces behind as she cuts the engine leaping from the seat with Kara sliding a little more gracefully from behind her as the cop bolts headlong toward the ambulance parked just outside the tapped off side alleyway beside the still busy coffee shop.

"Eliza."

Why the cute agent she was still jokingly calling Medusa had Alex's phone was a question for after she made completely sure her supposed to be mother in law was out of harm's way.

The medic treating the Danvers mother finally gives some acknowledgment at the sound of the twin calls. "Detective Sawyer? What—Erm—what are you-"

Maggie isn't in the mood to answer any questions. This wasn't her turf as it were, yet she'd stormed into the active crime scene without a second thought, Kara hot on her heels. "How are you feeling?" the leather jacket clade cop questions climbing up into the back of the ambulance again with Kara not that far behind her.

"I'm fine." Eliza was already waving away 'So like Alex, always downplaying when she was hurt.' Maggie notices but the brace on her right hand said otherwise as Kara slid her glasses down her nose an obvious sign she was x-raying her adoptive mother gauging the extent of Eliza's injuries when the medic was distracted with tending to a few of Jeremiah's injures.

"You aren't fine Lizzy; you have a split lip, your wrist was broken, and the medic here says he thinks your ribs were bruised too." Jeremiah listed off looking battered but otherwise far better off than his wife. Someone must have thrown coffee at him Maggie reasons seeing the burns on his hand and down his arm where his skin hadn't been protected by the sleeve of his shirt. Defensive type with a side of caramel syrup and whip cream if she was seeing the residue near his wrist correctly.

"Winn is like a son to me Jer, I wasn't just going to let her take him without some kind of fight." His wife argued.

"Mama bear Danvers strikes again." Maggie chuckles under her breath then recoils when the thought brings back a more painful memory of when Alex chose having children of her own over keeping Maggie in her life.

"Besides even I know that regardless of my current state my attacker was pulling her punches. She didn't want to hurt me let alone fight with me, but she had to because I pushed her into it." Eliza adds with a bashful smile at Maggie's not so whispered comment.

They could tell there was something more she wanted to say but given the other set of ears listening in she couldn't be sure of secrecy.

"Alex is going to kill me."

The way Maggie and Kara parroted one another had at least three of the four now squeezed into the back of the ambulance sharing matching looks of hope between them. "Then Rao only knows what that cutie Medusa will think given how close you two are." Maggie goes on running a hand in her hair as the medic slips out finally allowing them some kind of privacy.

At least thinking about the reddish-brown haired agent was a kind of destruction from thinking about Alex.

"I'm sure both of them will understand, honey." Eliza offers holding out her uninjured hand to hold Maggie's trembling one. "But the one thing I was able to do before compact barbie got the drop—"

Kara and Maggie exchange amused grins while Jeremiah shakes his head. "maybe we should have Allie check for a concussion." He covers with his own humored grin

"I managed to slip an extra pair of Kara's glasses into Winn's jacket pocket before the real action started." Eliza recalls looking more than a little pleased with the move. "That's how my wrist was broken." She goes on.

"O-kay, but how does that help-" Maggie started to ask but Eliza turned her attention toward Kara as she answered.

"Kara cam." Eliza grins knowing full well her daughter would understand. Not that Kara was paying much attention now as her extra hearing picked up on something outside the confines of the back of the ambulance.

"-had to patch her up as best I could to keep cover, but the main asset was taken before our team could move in properly and secondary targets and subject Beta are now under original Kryptonian protection. Impossible for recovery but tell Allison she was right this is most definitely the work of agent Sullivan-"

"Since when would cutie here need a pair of woman's glasses?" Chloe asks the room examining the pair in question more closely as she picks through the other things she'd confiscated from the sleeping man's pockets.

His phone already disabled and it's deconstructed parts piled on one side of the side table at Chloe's elbow, the loose change counted up (ten cents in total made up of mostly pennies) and stacked neatly in a pile beside his keys and riffled thought wallet and the impressive collection of empty gum wrappers had already been tossed into the trash.

"Maybe they are hers?" Kenzi offers towel drying her hair a second time as she heads back into the makeshift hospital they had set up for Snow. "Hang on is that a dark-eyed junco?"

Chloe looks up puzzled as she cradles the half-finished looking toy, she'd just found in an inside pocket of the unconscious man's jacket in her hand. "Um, the what now?"

"You know the snowbird." Kenzi clarifies letting her towel drop over her shoulders as she crossed the room to get a better look.

"Well, he is the son of Toyman maybe he likes bird watching as well as toy making?" Chloe shrugged remembering the search she'd done of their new houseguest as she turns the thing over a few times just to be sure it wasn't dangerous before setting it aside whilst Kenzi heads into the small kitchen for something to eat returning a few minutes later with twin bowls of warmed soup.

"Chlo what happened to your hand?" she'd spotted a splash of blood across the other woman's knuckles she hadn't noticed before in the low glow of the bedside lamp as the blonde passes over the offered meal.

"I had to take out cutie's tracer before the other calvary came busting in and mess up our latest attempt to wake up our stubborn sunbeam here." the blonde defends nodding to the broken bits of a bloodied tracker beside the dismantled cell phone. "But don't worry he didn't feel a thing, pinky promise."

"I meant your shoulder Chlo." Kenzi clarifies spotting the blood now staining the back of her friend's shirt.

At first, she didn't think she'd get an answer until her companion lets out a shallow breathe, "another ghost from my past showed up. She tried to stop me taking Mr. Easy on The Eyes over there." Chloe pauses gesturing with her soup spoon toward the man now restrained to what anyone else would call a simple towel holder they'd recently installed under the room's single window. Yet the distance of this simple household item was far enough away that the effects of the added component hidden under the led laced alloy wouldn't be felt by the alien visitor curled up on the bed.

They didn't want the superpowered blonde to do anything foolish if she woke fighting, so it was more protection for their kind of hostage than an intended danger for Snow.

"I didn't want to fight her, but she wouldn't stand down and I hadn't exactly gotten Mr. Scruffy jaw into the car yet," Chloe tells giving another small rotation of the self-given patch-up job she'd given her shoulder. "Just reopened Allie's going away present."

Kenzi recoiled at the reminder of her friend's injury in helping her escape with Checkmate's latest kidnapped asset. "He has a name you know." The dark-haired nerd reminds distracting herself from her guilt in watching the steady rise and fall of Winn's chest and in no way was she imagining what he might look like under his shirt. She already knew from watching at least his copy in Snow's mind that he was built enough to defend himself, but she was curious just how toned he really was.

"Hey." The harsh bite to Chole's voice jars Kenzi out of her head. "Didn't you already tell me off for daydreaming over a guy that was already taken? Yet here you are throwing heart eyes just like I was."

Kenzi's cheeks flush in deep embarrassment but she doesn't have to time defend herself or do much of anything other than pull in a shaking breath before the man in question lets out a low groan from his corner.

"Call it." Chloe orders holding up the nickel she'd taken from Winn's pocket in challenge.

"Heads."

"You lose." Chloe announces with a pleased grin when the coin came up tails carrying an untouched bottle of water as well as a smaller bowl of broth over toward the waking man.

"'Liza?" he mumbles his eyes fluttering open the snap closed again with a weak groan when the scrap of the handcuffs rings out in the almost quiet room. The only other sounds being Kenzi and Chloe's even breaths and the slow beeping of Snow's heart monitor.

"Drink this first before you try talking again cutie." Chloe suggests bringing the end of the straw she'd slipped into the water to Winn's lips. He seems to obey easily enough until his eyes crack open a second time to get a glimpse of just who it was talking to him.

Chloe jumps back with the ease of a jungle cat before Winn could do more than glare in her direction. She'd seen only a glimpse of his self-defense moves before her sedative had taken effect and she wasn't up for a repeat. "You hurt Eliza."

"I was hoping you wouldn't remember that." The blonde sighed her teeth gritted together in a poor attempt to hide her pain when she shifted her weight. All this excitement was aggravating her earlier gotten injuries.

Winn would have gone on had something or rather someone behind the now shamed Checkmate agent caught his eye causing all his anger to bleed into something sharper and a lot more painful. "Linda." The sheer heartbreak in every letter of the name is like a physical punch to the watching women's hearts. "What the hell are you doing to her?"

"You think she looks bad now you should have seen her before we cleaned her up." Chole seems to either be ignoring or not noticing the clear 'would you shut up' look Kenzi is sending her way as she keeps going. "I mean I don't know about you Kenz but when we busted her out of that Check hell place, I thought we'd be caught half a dozen times. Oh, wait we were."

"Chlo—" Kenzi's voice was just above a whisper as her companion finishes tugging off her shirt.

"No way K. I'm not letting him stay here thinking you and I are the baddies here." The hazel-eyed blonde argues twisting around to show off the slightly bloodied bandages spanning from her shoulder down toward the middle of her back. "My ex-bosses little parting gift for my helping bust out your girlfriend."

Winn's eyes shift between the bloodied wrapped wound and Linda's sickly-looking face. Her skin no longer had the soft glow but a harsher almost ashen gray color to it. Like she was being slowly, forcibly drained of her inner light from the inside out. "Okay but how do you think I can help?" he questions after a few long seconds to think over this new information forgetting to correct the fact Linda's newest kidnappers thought they were a couple.

They could tell he was still untrusting of their motives, but the pair did seem to breathe a little easier at his quickly given cooperation. Not that he had much of a choice given how fast their patient was slipping away.

"Well, we thought about the old school just kiss her idea." Chloe says conversationally as she lets her shirt fall back into place. "But how about for now we give you the benefit of the doubt and bring you over to just talk to her?"

"After you've retained me again." Winn guesses.

"He is smart." Chloe giggles causing Kenzi to roll her eyes with a sighed "Told you so." As she twirls the keys to the handcuffs around her finger.
