A loud repeating beeping rang out on the radar and Wildwing's nerves got edgy.

"We're about a few hundred yards from Temperal Caverns.", Tanya reported, "We'll be there momentarily."

Canard was n Wildwing's other side up front and he could feel his friend's vibes through his aura reading.

"Scared Wing?", he asked.

Wildwing turned his way.

"Yeah.", he admitted, "But it's our last mission here."

Phil was in the back and clearly not at all looking okay.

"Can't we just go home?", he asked, "I'm not a fighter."

Kleggorn looked annoyed.

"Suck it up Phil.", he said firmly, "We got a job to do and we're not going to wait til the end of days for it to happen."

That was when Temperal Caverns appeared before them.

"Well we're here again. And this time on our own accord instead of being called here against our will like that one episode.", Nosedive commented(breaking the fourth wall as usual).

Over on the other Aerowing, Derek and Rosie's kids were in total awe.

"This is where the fates control the fabric of reality?", Timmy asked.

Clyde and Adam however gulped. They were each sent by the Keepers once for specific tasks to complete. Clyde had gotten his finished and Adam soon after, but the thought of meting their "employers" still unnerved them.

"So what's going on here?", Benny asked already getting himself riled up, "I want to see some action and fight bad guys."

"Hold on there young man.", BRAWN said firmly, "We're on business not on vacation."

And that was when the Keepers appeared before the planes causing them both to halt instantly.

"So you've come.", Observer said calm as ever.

"And one last task your team must finish.", Phage added.

"To end an enemy that all will know.", Chroma finished.

Wildwing took a breath.

"We've gone through heck and back to get this far.", he said firmly, "And all we want to know is-

"We know.", the Keepers all said in unification.

"We know that you know.", Wildwing said slightly irritated, "Can we just face this rift and we'll go back home?"

The Keepers' eyes fared as they saw the kids flinch.

"Very well.", Phage said firmly.

All three keepers held a hand outward and a massive rift opened instantly dragging both Aerowings into it. The moment both planes were gone, the rift closed and multiple baubles from the nearby fountain splashed and burst only to reform and repeat as the Keepers turned to each other and gave a nod before turning out to see Tempus materialize not far off with some baubles of his own circling his form as he brought out his scythe.

"So, here we are again.", Tempus said smiling devilishly.

The Keepers brought out their own weaponry and took a stance even though Tempus' baubles had flown to the fountain and splashed into it.

"This time when you die, you'll do reality a favor and stay dead.", Chroma said harshly.

Back on Sauria, the sun was rising, but Draco felt an omen of dread looming over the group.

"Sleep well your highness?", Geoff said as he poured tea from his enchanted teapot into some custom cups that Darcel had crafted.

Draco looked unsure and Geoff smelled something afoot. The others did too cause Harzep tensed and touched the ground.

"Something's wrong.", he said cautiously,"The land is growing restless. And a disturbance is rising over in that direction.)

He pointed further south and Darcel looked a bit curious.

"Isn't it a little odd that Frazzak sent us in this direction for getting the group closer together?", he asked.

Geoff looked just as wondering.

"And this disturbance shows up shortly after we start out? I'm guessing Charyus is starting up a spell and knowing him, it's that one spell he took from Drux."

Gerazi looked unsure.

"Didn't we get the scroll back from him?"

Geoff looked her way with a dark look.

"Charyus is the former oracle of Zeral and one of the best sorcerers the Saurian empire had ever trained. Rivaled only by divine rank, his magic is not to be underestimated. Once that lizard gets a spell going, this world will once again be on the brink of extinction and our race eradicated."

Darcel rolled his eyes.

"So let's get there and stop him before he does so."

Geoff smiled.

"That attitude hasn't changed in over twenty years."

Draco looked confused.

"I thought it was ten years."

"Whatever.", Geoff said trying to save himself from shooting his mouth off, "There's something wrong and I have a hunch okay?"

After their brief breakfast of eggs and herbs, they got going while heading south.

"We're going to go toward the people who want to kill us?", Draco asked getting more than a bit nervous.

"No.", Geoff answered, "Just close enough so I can do a scrying spell to see what is going on."

Harzep looked unsure.

"And alert Charyus of our presence?"

"Magic of his caliber takes concentration and immobility.", Geoff said trying to speak calmly, "It might buy us some time before he catches wind of anything."

Wildwing gripped his seat as the Aerowing spiraled further and further into wherever the rift was taking them. He couldn't see, but through the screaming both from around him and from the transmission from the other plane, it wasn't looking good. That was when he felt the grip of the wheel disappear and opened his eyes fast to reveal that the plane was dissolving like it was dipped in a vat of acid and members of his team being sent to other rifts within the rift. Theo observed all this in the pages of the book in his hands and even he looked shocked.

"Talk about twists of fate.", he commented, "Further and round they go. Will they stop? Even I don't know."

The page turned and revealed nothing yet, but Theo knew too well that the book would reveal his answer. It showed Wildwing now falling through the rift alone before his mask ripped off his face and Drake formed under it.

"Wildwing?", he asked before he too got sucked into a rift forming behind him.

As hard as Wing tried, his fingers just missed Drake's hand before he saw the legend himself sent away.

"Great, now I have to find the team again.", he grumbled.

As he turned again in the rift, he hit a wall and was unconscious instantly. After what felt like a couple minutes, water dripped onto his face. After a couple drops, he shot awake to reveal he was in some kind of bedroom, but something didn't feel right. He got out and passed a mirror on a dresser when he caught his reflection. What stared back at him was a young man in his early twenties with platinum colored hair and he completely freaked out, but didn't scream.

"Great, now I'm stuck in a human body without my-"

His eyes went wide with realization before a knock came at the door.

"Bro, you awake?"

Wildwing knew that voice instantly.

"Dive?!", he asked.

"Yeah, you're going to be late if you don't get a move on!"

Wildwing looked at his pajama bottoms and a feeling of embarrassment washed over him. After dressing himself, he caught his reflection again. He may be human, but his clothes were the same which helped relieve some of the encounter. The sound of passing cars made him get to the window and after opening it, he found that he was in Anaheim again.

"Okay, so I'm human, back on Earth, no idea where the others are, and the Keepers-"

He paused and his surprise turned to anger.

"Of course they did this.", he said firmly before calming himself, "No, that's what drives a player into a wall. Just breath, and relax."

He took a couple breaths and headed to the door. He had just opened it to reveal a blonde teen that just looked like he graduated high school placing a plate of bacon, eggs and toast on a table near the door before turning and smiling at him.

"Well great to see you're awake Sleeping Beauty.", he said pleasantly.

Wildwing's mind was quickly freaking out again. The teen was wearing Nosedive' clothes, had his voice and even his personality. He quickly slapped on a straight face and hoped it would work.

"Nice of you to make breakfast for me baby bro."

The teen smiled.

"Still using my nickname eh?", he asked playfully, "Well, we better get moving coach."

"Coach?", Wildwing asked.

"Remember?", the teen asked, "You won the Stanley Cup finals last year and with all your endorsement, you got a job being a coach to players at the Pond."

Wildwing was about to realize something when something large and furry tackled him to the ground and covering his face with dog kisses. The teen came over and pulled off a fully grown German shepherd off Wildwing.

"Hey, careful Alpha.", the teen said still playfully, "Coach needs to get to work."

"Alpha?", Wildwing thought as he cleaned up his face, "Why does that name sound familiar?"

Theo observed the many baubles as the Keepers went at each other.

"Hmm, a promising start on Wildwing's part, but what is this?"

He looked to a bauble where Nosedive and Julia were human also and basking in the glory of Titanic.

"Beautiful isn't she?", Nosedive asked.

Julia'e eyes were glued on the vessel and clearly in awe.

"Magnificent.", she commented, "Simply breathtaking."

Theo couldn't help but feel for the two lovers as he noticed Thrash and Mookie(as ducks this time) in another bauble trying to survive the Civil War in outer space.

"Gotta hand it to the Keepers. They know how to strain a person.", Theo muttered to himself, "I'm just happy that the Keepers are to busy keeping the fallen keeper at bay while I oversee this."

Before long, the bauble containing Thrash and Mookie merged with the one that held Nosedive and Julia. Instantly, the new bauble revealed Thrash and Mookie already on board the Titanic as common folk while Nosedive and Julia were upper class(if you know what I mean).

"That was weird.", Thrash said, "First we're blasting outer galactic soldiers and now we're on a-"

Mookie noticed other people and quickly pulled Thrash out of sight since they were ducks, but after seeing Nosedive and Julia, for some reason she recognized them and she allowed Thrash and her to be seen.

"Dudes?!", Nosedive asked in shock, "Is that you?"

Thrash smiled.

"Yep, it's us Dive.", he stated before noticing Julia and Nosedive's human forms, "So what's with this whole get up?"

"If you ask me, we're in some kind of alternate time line on Titanic.", Julia said.

"The famous ship that struck the iceberg and all those deaths that followed?", Mookie guessed.

"Yep, the very one.", Thrash said before noticing the other's expressions, "Hey, it was my high school history report once."

Canard ducked around the third set of razor blades as he made his way over a pit of spikes. He had just about reached the other side when his hand slipped, but luckily Clyde was there to catch him.

"Nice save Bronzefeather.", Canard said as Clyde pulled him to safety.

"No problem.", Clyde answered, "Any idea where the others are?"

"I'm stumped.", Canard said, "My aura readings are limited so I can't see very far. Hopefully the others are around somewhere."

There came the sounds of zaps nearby. The two drakes headed out towards it. After a quick pushing of brush aside, they came upon a clearing where Phil was running around while three large metal drones were circling and sending little laser cannons t keep him from running too far one way or another.

"Phil?!", Canard asked in shock, "What are you doing?"

Phil looked annoyed.

"I'm trying not to get fried over here and if you don't mind...SAVE ME!"

Clyde and Canard got into battle right away and soon had dispatched the drones just in time for Phil to collapse on the ground exhausted.

"Thanks.", he wheezed.

Canard looked around before turning to Phil again.

"So you wound up here too?

Phil looked a bit nervous.

"All I know is that we all got split up in that rift the Keepers opened up and then I was almost fried at a Cajun cook off, almost flattened by a spiked boulder, and was chased by drones that tried to vaporize me."

"I'm guessing that would be your version of saying you have no idea?", Clyde guessed.

Canard looked a bit worried himself.

"I just hope the others are okay.", he said.

That was when large saw blades came out of the ground and Phil got to his feet again.

"And now we have to run.", Clyde said.

That was when the saw blades came out of the ground and flew at them as they dashed into the brush. Phil obviously was not recovered from his last running and was soon slowing down.

"You need to go on a diet when we get home.", Canard told him.

Phil looked more attentive.

"Diet?!", he screamed.

That was when Phil picked up speed. The trio had run ahead of the blades before they came to a large wall of rock where they paused.

"Great, now we're dead.", Clyde gulped.

Canard turned to see the blades appearing from the brush.

"Brace yourselves!", he called out.

Luckily the blades didn't get to them in time. Why? Because a large ripple happened and the ducks fell through the wall like ghosts before the blades hit the wall, and blew up.

Duke appeared in another bauble wandering a post apocalyptic wasteland with Tanya and Mallory alongside him.

"If we get home, I'm gonna cal in for a week to recover.", Mallory said firmly.

Tanya said nothing, but clearly she was feeling the same way. They had reached the ruins of a skyscraper when out of the blue, Danielle fell out along with BRAWN. Before they hit the ground, BRAWN got Danielle into a safe position and landed on his feet with a thud.

"Hey guys.", he said very pleasant.

Duke was speechless.

"Great to see you're okay.", Mallory said quickly changing the subject.

"You too.", Danielle said as BRAWN set her down, "Any of you seen Canard?"

"Nada.", Duke said, "Last thing any of us remember is that we were in that rift the Keepers opened and we all got shot off into some kind of reality."

BRAWN looked attentive.

"Warning! Warning! Hazardous dust storm approaching!"

The ducks all turned to see a huge wall of dust form on the horizon and was heading their way. Quick as a wink, they headed to the ruins and got behind the wall as the sand hit. The sand stung their eyes and breathing was hard, but it was over quick and everyone caught their breath(except BRAWN since he was a robot).

"Everyone okay?", BRAWN asked.

"We're cool.", Mallory said, "Thanks for the warning sign BRAWN."

"You're welcome.", BRAWN said.

As they were about to leave, Duke saw something on the wall.

"Hey BRAWN, can I have some light over here?", he asked.

BRAWN pointed a finger in Duke's direction and a powerful beam of light came on illuminating a message the team could read.

"Follow the clues you once learned. Complete this task and your freedom you've earned.", Duke read, "Time has passed and life found death, but an act of kindness can soothe this wrath."

Mallory groaned.

"Great, riddles again."

Danielle rubbed a finger over the silver band on her finger.

"Stay safe my love.", she thought before the images of Derek, Rosie and their kids came to mind, "No matter where any of you are, I'll find you."

The team huddled to rest unaware that Derek, Rosie and their kids were already facing problem of their own as Theo observed.

"I'm glad that ripple happened wen the Keepers clashed.", he said, "Canard's team avoided certain death. But in this family's case, they're safe for now. But soon fate can turn and another obstacle they must endure."

He paused to observe the Keepers and Tempus still fighting before he turned back to the baubles and settled on Wildwing's which showed him getting ready for practice.

"Duke found his reality's puzzle.", he purred, "Will you find yours Flashblade?"

To be continued...
