Thanks a lot for your support it means so much to me I hope you like the chapter.

"Logan, what are you thinking?" Mitchum said blinking. "Of course, you're my son! Nine months before you were born, your mother and I had a pretty big fight because we had differences that don't really matter right now. It was so bad we even contemplated divorce. Obviously, we didn't go that route. The reconciliation was very sweet...and, uh, successful." He paused and chuckled at himself.

He looked at Logan as he continued, "I was so over the moon when she told me that we were expecting a child again. Your mum mistrusted me quite a bit and rightly so. But her own past caught up with her past when Max, my cousin, was visiting us. Your mom was so afraid of him until she told me that there was a good chance that Max could be the father of our child because she had spent a night with him when she was so angry at me." His face darkened temporarily. "I was pretty upset. But when you were born on October 24, 1984, I was sure from the first second I saw you that you were my child, Logan. You have the same brown eyes as me and your grandmother Emma. You're also like me in so many ways. The stubbornness, patience, excellent business sense, and the strength to fight until you reach your goals."

Mitchum's voice softened as he continued, "I'm so proud of you Logan, even though I haven't said it to you very often. You are an excellent example for Cami and never let her down as I did with you and Honor back then. By the way, in case you still have doubt, your mother came to me to request a paternity test, just to settle the matter once and for all. It confirmed that you are 99,99%, my son." Mitchum cleared his throat, and Logan looked at his father with an open mouth, speechless. He was shocked. He wished his father had made a speech like that a lot sooner. Logan had never heard such honesty from the man.

"I honestly don't know what to say to that now, dad. Why didn't you tell me about this before?" Logan found his language again after a while and looked at his parents questioningly.

"Because it didn't really matter. Mitchum was the only father you had ever known. And he IS your father. Plus, I was so ashamed of myself at first, Logan, sweetheart. I should never have gotten involved with him in the first place. And even if it is quite sudden and unexpected, we are happy that we can count another three wonderful grandchildren in our family," Shira said and smiled lovingly at her son.

"I'm glad to hear that, mom, and now I understand why you and dad always avoided Max. He tried to put me out of business so often because he had some shares while you were having chemotherapy one after another, dad. He wouldn't stop until grandpa put his foot down and bought his shares and finally kicked him out of the company," Logan said and could finally connect the dots why the whole situation had gotten so out of control.

Mitchum now became sensitive and looked at Logan, "Is this true? I never dreamed that Dad would ever take my side. Never. And especially when it came to Uncle Stuart's golden boy. I've always worked so hard, and then dad buys up his shares so I don't lose my job as a CEO." Mitchum shook his head and stared away in wonder.

"Yeah, dad, grandpa kicked him out. I know you never had the best relationship with each other, but he still loves you in his way. Maybe it's finally time to reach out to grandpa again. You've hardly said a word since Grandma Emma's funeral. I am glad that we spoke out three years ago because I could have lost you during your severe cancer. Remember, Dad, Grandpa is 75, and we all don't know how long he will live. So please overcome your pride and talk to each other again. You don't have twenty-three years left like you and me when we finally made it clear." Logan tried to warn his father. Seeing Mitchum's slight nod, Logan knew he got through to him.

Logan was right, but he only recognized his dad as the loving grandfather and not as the strict authoritive man that Elias was as Mitchum grew up. From a very young man it was drilled into his mind that he was to take over his father's business without choice or debate.

In such moments like this, he became aware that he didn't treat Logan differently. However, Mitchum swore that he would never become like his father and leave all possibilities open for his children. But precisely the opposite happened. He became more and more like his father Elias from year to year and had hardly made any effort to get to know his children until three years ago when he was diagnosed with stomach cancer. The course of the disease was quite severe, but thanks to the support of his family and his siblings Katherine and John, he beat cancer and was cancer-free for three years. "Dad, is everything all right?" his son's worried sounding voice ripped him out of his thoughts' chaos. "Of course, my boy, and you're right; I should talk to Grandpa before it's too late."

"There, you see, Dad, that wasn't so hard after all, and I'm glad that you're following my advice," nodded Logan and glanced at his daughter, who had a beaming smile on her lips as she flipped through her favorite storybook with Bubbles in the reading corner.

"Of course, Logan, and you're right; I should talk to grandpa before it's too late."

"It's about time, Mitchum darling, and what are you doing this afternoon in this beautiful sunny weather," Shira asked.

Before Logan or Rory could say anything, Cami returned to the table and said in an exciting voice "Can Daddy's parents come to the zoo with us? That would be so great so that I could show you all my favorite animals. Finja is so cute..."

"Tinkerbell I don't know if.."

"Well, I think we have time, right Shira? And I absolutely want to see the new ice bear cub." Mitchum insisted with a soft smile.
