'Thoughts' "Speaking" Author's Notes/ Bijuu Speaking "Telepathic Talking"
A/N: No, I have not forgotten about the Jonin Exam... thing... *shudders at it*, this is still in the 'training' period of it and if it will be back soon. Sorry if you don't like that particular bit, I dug myself into this hole and now I've got to get myself out.
=Chapter 13: The Flames Strike!=
=Mission: Next Day=
"I... am scarred for life."
Dog had drawn the short straw and had a good ol' time on watch with the one and only... Lee! He had sprouted about his 'Flames of Youth' and if Dog had a longer watch with him, she would've been dead.
"Never mind that, I believe we can try to treat it later but for now let's continue with our mission." Everyone nodded after Kitsune said it, and the two parties got their morning selves ready and into their gear for the day. Sakura, however, could not seem to concentrate. There was something off about Kitsune and she didn't know what it was. He felt awfully familiar yet so far away at the same time.
Who was the person under the mask? Why were they so familiar? Questions raced through her mind until a pat on her shoulder brought her out of her thoughts.
"You okay?" Kitsune asked her. She just nodded in response. A caring voice, a friendly pat... "Let's go." The Flames took off back into the trees, swiftly followed by the Konoha group, not one of them noticing the overhanging cliff 'rebuilding' itself.
Some more small talk was exchanged on the way but Kitsune was trying to find a way around so that they could take out these missing-nin without raising too many suspicious about their identities and abilities. He had to show off just the correct amount of abilities, not too much, yet enough to knock the enemies out.
He knew Shikamaru and Neji would be observing the two as much as they could, making an extremely detailed report to Danzo. The others in the group wouldn't pay attention as much but wouldn't be too far behind in their written reports.
"Kurama? Are you any good at genjutsu?"
"I'm a bijuu, what do you think? You think our massive chakra reserves would allow us to do any genjutsu? No sir, you are mistaken but if you asked one of the lower bijuus, say... Kokuo or Isobu, then they might be able to cast some genjutsu."
"I mean, I have shreds of their chakra but will that be sufficient?"
"No, you'll need the actual soul of the bijuu."
"Ah, why can't anything be simple at all?"
"Because this is a fanfiction and fanfictions need a plot."
"Kura, fourth wall."
"Ah, right."
The two internally argued for a little before Kitsune settled on senjutsu attacks, not like they'd know what they were anyways. He jumped to each of his team and gave them instructions from controlled drops of chakra on their hoods.
'Ah okay, so that's how they communicate. A code of chakra dotted on their hoods. I wouldn't have seen it without my Byakugan, although this is all meaningless without any information on the code.'
"Don't think about trying to decode it, Neji-san. It's an old forgotten code and I doubt that your scrolls tucked away across the village have any information on it." Neji looked at Kitsune wide-eyed, who jumped back to the front of the group. Could he read minds? "But I'll give you some information, after all, I don't like keeping too much." Neji turned his Byakugan off to pay attention.
"There was once a country, a village so strong and powerful. A single squadron from it could decimate dozens of others. Only some remember this village. A coalition of 10,000 from Kumo, Kiri and Iwa decimated the village, however... that coalition was reduced to less than 100 survivors from it. Some people from that country managed to escape and are scattered across the shinobi lands. Only three survivors that I know of remain from that lost clan." The group swore they saw a few drops of tears land on the ground after the story was told from Kitsune.
"However that is not all." The group payed more attention. "It wasn't just those three great nations. There was one organisation in particular that helped in it too, but was never mentioned. I believe you know it."
.
.
.
"It's called ROOT."
=Unknown Location=
"I sense a chakra signature approaching and it's coming fast." Two swords unsheathed in response, followed by a few chains sprouting out a figure's back and finally, an odd mark across another of the figures.
"Who is it- argh!" One of the figures clutched their head in pain, eyes turning red on instinct. Instead of the usual atom pattern with a tree triangles protruding from a circle in the centre, the eye had the usual red background but a thin black swirl spinning out from the pupil took place.
"Yo, niisan." Another figure landed in front of the group of four, white robes whipping in all directions from the wind.
"How... how are you out?"
"Jealous are we? That seems definitely like you." He looked at the figure with the new eyes. "Oh, I see and you've taken over your partner's body at it as well."
"Who are you two?" the one with chains asked. Both of them looked at her.
"Asura."
"Hn."
"You're my cousin?" The chains settled down slightly.
"Who are you?"
"Karin. Uzumaki Karin." The sun peeked through the tree leaves, showing red hair, crimson eyes behind glasses and dark red, slightly yellow chains.
"Ah, just like my partner huh? No, I'm not your cousin. My partner is though, but he's not here."
"Are you two done?" The two nodded. "Now back to business, how are you out of your partner's body?" The red eyes spun and three of the figures had to blink as not to get caught in the hypnotising eyes. Asura however, was unaffected by it. "How... are... you... out?"
"Simple. He made a way for me."
"Tell me!"
Asura brought his hand to his chin in thought. "No."
"Why you, Asura!" Killing intent filled the air, dropping swords, forcing chains to retreat and marks to go to their source. The red eye changed and started spinning once more. "Amaterasu." And with that black flames shot out of Sasuke's eyes, still spiralling, and heading towards Asura.
=Mission=
"A travelling caravan. Seems like a good target, and I'll be seeing some fun later~" Two figures looked at a small convoy of caravans travelling on the road up the mountain to the nearest village.
"What type of travellers?" the smaller one asked.
"Merchants, probably."
"And a few of them as well. This'll be enough money for a while." The smaller one rubbed their hands in glee, aching to hold the smoothness of the coins and jingling of them in his ear.
The two jumped down and faced the travellers, shocked by this. The two grinned before doing hand seals, frightening the travellers even more.
"Give all of your belongings and you won't be harmed."
"Or... we will have to use force! We have chakra moulded and ready to attack!"
"And don't try anything too. We're A-Ranked nin."
Out of the tree line two cloaked figures jumped in between the two parties, facing the nin.
"Who are you? Never mind that, Fire Style: Fire Dragon Jutsu!" A Chinese dragon made of fire sprouted from the attackers mouth, heading towards the new defenders.
"Water Style: Water Wall!" The ground cracked before water rushed out of it, blocking the dragon and turning it into steam. The two looked in shock at this.
"No hand seals?" the smaller one spoke. "Who are you?"
"You do not need to know. All you need to know is that you're done for," the unknown Dog said.
"Confident are you? Wind Style: Great Breakthrough!"
"Fire Style: Fire Dragon Jutsu!"
"Let's go, Tiger. Water Style: Water Wall!"
"Lightning Style: Thunderbolt!"
The wind-enhanced fire dragon made its way to the now forming wall of electrified water. The contact of the two produced ever increasing amounts of steam, making the area more humid, slightly dimming the power of the fire dragon.
"Water Style: Tsunami!" The electrified wall of water reared its tip back, crashing onto the fire dragon and creating steam in the area, clouding the attacker's vision. "One down." The large one looked to see his partner knocked out with senbon needles stuck in his neck. "One to go."
The large one looked around, obviously petrified before seeing Tiger charge at him, purple balls of lightning chakra in both of his hands. The last thing he saw were two high-impact explosions in his gut and arm, tearing up his insides.
The steam eventually cleared leaving Dog and Tiger sitting on their victims like nothing happened. The rest of the group jumped down from the treeline and approached the two. Kitsune was wary of the lazy genius and the Hyuga prodigy as they would be taking all that happened in.
He saw Neji activate his Byakugan but he knew that wouldn't be able to actually define what attacks were used, so they were safe for now.
'I see, using the steam as cover so they can use their attacks without us seeing them. This is more troublesome than I thought.'
'Tch. They barely used any attacks so that's no use, even with my Byakugan. All I saw was Tiger in the smoke hitting his enemy with some sort of chakra orb but that's not much to go on.'
Kitsune smirked under his mask. They were going to get information, just not in the way anticipated.
The rest of the group watched on. Nothing too special for now but they were fast, extremely fast as well. They were good too. Scary, even.
One cherry blossom was still trying to wrap her head around the night. What was going on with Kitsune? Why is this guy so familiar to her? She slapped herself mentally. Focus now, think later.
The rest of them jumped to the ground and motioned for the travellers to continue their journey across the mountains, still petrified at the scene before them. Horse went down to inspect the body, along with Hinata for any information.
"And those are called A-Rank? Tiger, did you go easy or hard on them?"
"I... maybe slightly less than easy?" The cloaked figure shrugged their shoulders and continued pouncing around. "I don't know, it's been a while since I've had a good fight."
Kitsune stood still for a second before looking around the area as a distraction. His now Sage Mode enhanced senses picked up a few chakra signatures keeping their distance away. "Ne Kura, when do you think they'll be gone?"
"Few seconds, give or take."
"Three~ Two~ One~" The signatures disappeared as quickly as they appeared before three different chakra signatures flared up slightly before disappearing. "Why couldn't I be the one tailing? I wanted to try my strength on some ANBU..."
"Because then these idiots would be attacked in the next 10 seconds and have their identities revealed."
"I guess."
"Alright, we've got a map that says their hideout is a few kilometres south west of here-" piped up Hinata, cut off by Sakura.
"Hey isn't that the Curry of Life shop on the map?"
=Hokage Office=
Danzo was furious. He had more and more work piling up, along with an ever-growing headache. He had forgotten about that scroll Kitsune had given him.
He growled at that name, even thinking about it made him sick. He had opened it earlier today and started of his train of headaches. That orange mask of that Akatsuki member. That right eye hole, still open but nothing out of it. Only a note, folded up neatly by the side of it.
He opened it up carefully before reading it.
To: Danzo,
This present here is the mask of that Akatsuki member called 'Tobi' or 'Uchiha Madara'. I thought it would be nice to give this gift but the identity of the masked member shouldn't be brought up otherwise a few of your Jonin might throw a fit and fall into extreme depression.
You probably want the right eye Sharingan right? But why would you want it? To implant it into one of your ANBU or Jonin? To try and replicate it? Or fuse it together with your other eye? Don't think I don't know Danzo.
From: Kitsune.
His lone eye widened and he turned the note over and spotted something written on the back.
P.S: Tobi is NOT a good boy.
He scowled before the scroll and note burst into flames, eliminating any trace of them and leaving the mask, blood splattered on the edges.
"Take this for examination. I want the identity of this 'Uchiha Madara'," he spat out to his nearest ANBU, who only saluted before sunshining off.
He cursed under his breath. Who was this Kitsune? How did he know? What are their goals? Looks like he'd had to rely on his weapons sooner than he thought.
To make matters worse, the vault was raided yesterday or maybe in the night. He got the report earlier in the day and the reports were still coming in. The vault was turned completely upside down, random scrolls missing and the Scroll of Sealing gone.
Question was, why? And what for? And how? It was then Danzo's mind clicked. Orange Flames, of course! The mission he issued them. They must have done it. They must have thought he wouldn't suspect him as they were on a mission.
He smiled internally, this gave him an excuse to capture them. Finally, Danzo would get answers. He was going to turn this around.
He wrote something down in a scroll before handing it to one his ANBU guards. He turned back towards the window. He knew they were going to be back soon. Danzo had to be patient.
=Mission=
"There it is. Katabami Gold Mine." Fourteen figures stood on top of a cliff, watching the bustling mine filled with the not-so happy sounds of working people.
Whips cracked in the distance, the distant smell of curry cooking ages away and the earthen smell of rocks rising into the sky.
"Now it's time for you guys to take some out," Kitsune said, motioning to the Konoha-nin.
Lee and Neji nodded, jumping down near two of the guards by the entrance and knocking them out easily.
"Probably only C-Ranked nin as the guards," the Hyuga prodigy said.
"How unyouthful."
The rest of the group jumped down, observing the situation.
"We'll split up into two groups, people who will attack from the outside - making sure no one escapes as well; and people who will go to the inside." The rest nodded at Kitsune's command.
"Anyways, isn't anyone curious why rogues are back here?" Ino spoke up. The group remembered, about 5 years ago when they had the task again here. Kitsune remembered but did not show. "I mean isn't anyone curious?"
"Precisely, a large group would not assemble here without reason." Shino slightly shifted his gaze to the Flames, which did not go unnoticed.
"Maybe for some money?" Choji spoke up.
"That won't do, for example: if they wanted quick cash, there is a decently rich castle up North and a few rich villages somewhere West." Kitsune used a stick to draw on the ground. "But... why do the hard work when you could go there? Why force people to work when that would be easier. Well in my opinion anyways."
The lazy genius spoke up. "We have a mission. It's elimination, not intelligence gathering. They were our orders, troublesome."
"You guys just follow orders like that?" asked Horse. An evil feeling started to make its way into the air before it disappeared.
"We have to follow orders. He is our Hokage."
"So... if you had to murder someone in cold blood, would you do it?"
"Of course!" Kiba jumped in.
"Even if they were innocent?" Horse questioned, trying to trip him up.
"They wouldn't be!" The rest of the Konoha-nin tried to stop him but it was too late. He had fallen into another trap, yet again.
"What if they weren't?" Dog spoke up from the back, sitting on a rock. The question stood in the air for a while before Dog continued. "Say, what if these rogues were innocent? What if they never have attacked any village or if they didn't take control of this mine? What if you had to kill civilians? Defenceless civilians? Or even a kid's par-"
"Dog, too much." Kitsune's calm voice cut through the air like a knife. He sighed before continuing. "I'll continue from here. You would all say you'd never do that, but Danzo's power is too overwhelming. The innocent bloodshed would be on you, yourself forever. All because of the fear of one man, who feeds from fear."
He hit them with a mental hammer, forcing them to think. He watched as friends became more and more disorientated. "We aren't judging you. You are all honour bound to follow Danzo and his orders. We don't trust and him and will never trust him. Just ponder on it, but now... let's catch some rogues," Kitsune's calm voice spoke.
Sakura found this ironic. Weren't they working with rogues to eliminate rogues? Again, this feeling of familiarity. Something again didn't feel right and she was going to find out what it was. She shook it off, listening to Kitsune and Shikamaru deciding the teams.
"Five of you guys and two of us. Alright. Tiger, you're with me," Kitsune said, which he could tell his teammate was happy with. He looked at the other two who only nodded. 'If Tiger doesn't get to destroy something, who knows what will happen...'
"Alright, the rest of you, eliminate the outer rogues and meet here in one hour," Shikamaru ordered. "Troublesome."
"Tiger, Ino-Shika-Cho, Sakura, Neji. Let's go." The commanding side of Kitsune appeared and they scaled the sides of the valley, making their way to the mine entrance.
The workers bustled below, the rogues keeping watch. The group eventually reached a tricky situation, some A-Ranked up ahead near the mine entrance. Tiger reached into his cloak and pulled out a kunai with an explosive tag attached to the handle of it.
"Ka-boom!" He threw the note to the side of the cave entrance, alerting the missing-nin.
"Earth Style: Mud Wall!"
"Got it Takisa! Water Style: Water Wall!"
Two walls rose up out of the ground, shielding them from the explosion.
"Who goes there?" One of the nin spotted the edge of Sakura's hair flowing from behind the rock. "Over there, Kaso! Earth Style: Earth Dragon Bullet!" The earth wall formed into a dragon's head, which opened its mouth to launch earth bullets towards the rock.
The group of seven jumped out of the way before the rock exploded, debris scattering through the sky.
"Mind Transfer Jutsu!" The named Kaso got hit by the jutsu, their mind being controlled
"Alright! I'm controlled!" the controlled Kaso said, waving his hand towards the group. His partner turned to him in shock and confusion, before tearing his hand back to punch the daylights back out of his comrade.
"That's my job!" Takisa turned his head and saw a blur of pink heading towards the controlled Kaso.
"Earth Style: Earth Pillars!" Pillars of earth rose out of the ground, going in the way of the pink blur.
Sakura only reared her hand back, her figure now distinguishable before her hand collided with the pillar, destroying it and sending a shockwave careening through the rest of the pillars, smashing them and sending more smoke into the air. "Water Style: Water Dragon Jutsu!" A roar echoed through the air, a blue dragon head rearing back before tearing through the rubble and hitting Kaso, now in control of his own body. His body hit the wall behind him, rendering him unconscious.
"8 Trigrams 64 Palms!" Neji appeared in front Takisa, the Eight Trigrams symbol now visible on the field. "2 Palms!" He slammed his fist into his opponent, two of the chakra points closing up. "Four palms!" Two more closed, Takisa's left arm starting to go limp. "Eight Palms!" Takisa's body started feeling more limp. "Sixteen Palms! Thirty Two Palms!" His opponent was half limp, almost collapsing. "Sixty Four Palms!"
=Other Group (Names?)=
"What is the meaning of this?" Three ninja at the bottom heard the explosion and rubble being thrown into the sky, the workers fleeing for their lives.
"Us." Two cloaked figures and five Konoha-nin jumped down in front of them.
"Fire Style: Flame Bullet!" A burst of fire appeared from one of the defending ninja, aiming for one of the cloaked ones.
"Water Style: Water Dragon Jutsu!" A water dragon head formed out of the sky, crashing into the the fire and forming smoke in the area. "Water Style: Tsunami!" A large wave of water erupted from the ground, the top of it rearing its head over to the defending nin.
"Earth Style: Rock Dome!" Earth rose out of the ground, shielding the nin from the tsunami but the water soaked through it, weakening the defence.
"Youth!" The side of the dome was smashed open by a green spandex wearing ninja, before the whole dome collapsed into pieces. "Leaf Hurricane!" Shock waves rippled through the air, creating more cracks in the ground.
"Fire Style: Fire Dragon Jutsu!"
"Eight Trigrams Air Wall Palm!" A burst of air forced the fire dragon one way, destroying more rocks and leaving a hole in the cliffside.
"Fang Over Fang!" Two grey blurs crashed into one of the missing-nin, dealing damage to their insides. The target spit blood out before falling down to the ground.
"Why you! Let's go Chisura, Lightning Style: Lightning Ball Jutsu!"
"Got it! Fire Style: Fire Dragon Jutsu!" the newly named Chisura said before another burst of fire came from the mouth.
"Collaboration Jutsu: Electrical Fire Dragon!" the two called out, the two jutsus merging into one. The attack aimed for Horse, who smirked under her hood.
She put both of her hands on the ground and braced for the attack, the wind whipping at her cloak. The jutsu hit her, smoke filling the air and wind swirling in the area but no sound of screaming. Just pure energy radiating from the centre of the blast.
A silhouette of a knight's helmet continuing upwards appeared, another silhouette of what looked like a neck brace with points near the middle of it joined near the back of the head and continued upwards into what looked like a whale fin.
The smoke disappeared, along with the silhouette, revealing Horse standing there with her hands crossed.
"...how?" The two nin that launched the attack looked at the figure in shock. "You should be dead by now!"
"Not really. An attack like that couldn't take me out. Do you know who I am?" Horse started walking forward, the ground slightly shaking.
"Not I, we." Dog jumped in and the two stopped next to each other, arms crossed once more.
"T-that cloak..." The named Chisura started to back off in fear. "W-why are y-you working with t-them? You're like u-us!"
"Who are they?" Chisura's partner asked, still confused.
"O-orange F-Flames!" The partner looked at them in shock before he realised it and started to back off.
"Parasitic Beetle Infestation!"
"Take this!"
Tenten and Shino took this chance to take out the remaining nin with their attacks, beetles to absorb chakra and with a mace.
=Attack Group=
"This way!" Seven people made their into the main room, alerting the few A-Ranks scattered there.
"How did you get in? Never mind, you'll die today!" one of the rogues exclaimed before using a burst of speed to aim for Kitsune. He ducked under the incoming punch and returned a hit to the side, sending him flying back.
"Sorry, but I don't think you're going to be get anywhere near me. I doubt you'd be able to get this hood off of my head." Bright orange chains rushed out of Kitsune's back before burrowing in the ground, much to the shock of his allies.
'Chains? Never mind that.' "Water Style: Water Dragon Jutsu!" A water dragon burst out of Sakura's mouth heading towards the rogues.
"Earth Style: Mud Wall Formation!" Three walls rose up out of the ground, each being destroyed from the attack. The rogues easily dodged it as the ceiling started to crumble. "What is your business here?"
"Elimination." Kitsune's sharp voice cut through the air before the chains burst out of the ground wrapping themselves around the recently spoken rogue. "I hate killing..." he whispered under his breath before the chains wrapped tighter around his victim, forming many cuts in the body and suffocating the poor soul.
The chains retreated back into the ground, ready to strike to their next target.
"Lightning Style: Lightning Ball Jutsu!" A rogue jumped into the sky before launching his attack on the nin. Kitsune merely used his chains to deflect the attack elsewhere, shattering the walls of the room.
"Shadow Possession Jutsu!" The Nara's shadow extended out, paralysing the rogue now landing on the ground.
"Partial Expansion Jutsu!" Choji's fist expanded before landing down on top of the rogue, still not knocking him out but weakening him.
"Mind Transfer Jutsu!" The rogue had more torture in store as Ino made her way into the mind, punching the delicate mind and directing the damage to parts across the body.
"Why you- Fire Style: Bomb Blast Dance!" A swirl of fire erupted from another rogue's mouth, turning the room up a few degrees and setting much of the stuff on fire.
"Eight Trigrams Air Wall Palm: Rotation!" Neji went into the attack and started throwing air around with his gentle fist, eventually dispersing the flames and the attack.
"Tiger."
"Ka-boom!" The roof exploded, dirt and rocks falling in from the now-visible hole, smoke filling the area and light shining through.
"You'll pay!" One rogue flickered behind Kitsune and reached for his hood, and reached, slightly pulling it back before the chains sprouted out of the ground once more. The rogue got knocked back, releasing his hold on the hood but leaving it open enough for the Konoha-nin to gather more information.
"Congratulations, you've done more than most people could, but now they're going to have more information on me. Now isn't that nice of you?" Kitsune pulled his hood back over, breaking the nin out of their trance.
'Definitely blond hair with red in it. Not much of that these days. Fair coloured skin. Shame I couldn't see the eyes and we might be able to match that with the database, troublesome.'
Sakura however, was a different story. She saw the eyes, slightly blue in one and purple in the other, although she didn't remember exactly as she was still in shock at that speed the two clashed at.
She remembered knowing someone that matches that description but couldn't exactly put her finger on it. The name was on the tip of her tongue except something was preventing her from finding it out.
"Earth Style: Earth and Stone Bamboo Shoots!" Out of the walls of the destroyed room, shoots of stone rushed out of it, one shoot aiming for each of the attackers.
Sakura destroyed hers by punching it, Choji did the same. Neji used his rotation to destroy the attack, while Kitsune merely used his chains to break it apart into pieces. Tiger decided to go with a show and blow his one up, followed by Ino who dodged hers and Shikamaru who rolled to the side being the lazy person he was.
"Can you please finish this already? These people are annoying me with how pathetic they are."
"Well then, your time is up, rogues." Kitsune's chains disappeared before lights started to shine out of him.
"W-wait, I know you! That cloak! Damn it, I could've saved my life..."
"Who?"
"Wait, I know that guy too! Kitsune of the Orange Flames!"
"You two are joking right?"
The four remaining rogues looked at the cloaked figure, the light starting to form an aura around Kitsune.
Defensive jutsu started appearing, getting the rogues ready for the attack.
"Only one type of chakra can stop this attack. Do you have it? Probably not." Kitsune's chakra started to accumulate at the front of the aura, where he held his hands out, a circle forming in the centre of it. "Should I spare you? You enslaved the people of this mine and forced them, moreover you attack defenceless people for fun. You don't know mercy."
Kitsune felt three chakras approaching and he smiled under his hood. Everything was going to plan. "Well, time to finish you. Light Ray of Punishment!"
The chakra in Kitsune's hands exploded with ferocity, shock waves being sent throughout the room and valley. Rocks tumbled from the top of the valley, crashing into infrastructure dotted along the bottom. The caves started falling in on themselves, the foundations holding them up started to weaken.
The chakra burst forward, expanding sideways, up and down and forward, dissipating the barriers and hitting the rogues. Blinding light filled the area, forcing everyone to close their eyes as not to be hit.
"How ironic. Rogues attacking other rogues. Rogues working with Konoha-nin to get rid of other rogues." Kitsune's voice echoed throughout the room before he cleaned his shoulders and hands of imaginary dust. "Well, it's been a while since I've let loose and I may have been a bit overkill..." He looked at the bodies laying at the other side of the room. "But they deserved it! Now let's go!"
"Leader-sama, I didn't even get to explode something worth it!"
"Yes you did!"
"That wasn't good enough!"
"Then explode something back at base!"
Tiger argued with Kitsune as the two walked out of the room like nothing happened, shocking the nin.
"Are they bipolar or something?" Neji twitched his eyebrow at the show of awkwardness displayed.
"Mental issues. Better watch out with their randomness," Ino responded.
"Say, didn't that hair remind you of someone?" Shikamaru asked, earning nods.
"I know, except I can't put my finger on it!" Sakura exclaimed before rushing out of the room, followed by the rest.
The empty room stood silent, the smoke clearing and debris falling its last steps. Three hooded figures jumped down from the hole in the roof and examined the bodies.
"Good, they're just alive. This'll be good enough." A sword unsheathed and the helm of it tapped the one body's forehead. Their memories came flowing out of their mouth, and the figure inspected them all before tapping the forehead once more. The memories retreated and another figure came to that same person. A burst of chakra came from the person and he placed his hand on the head.
"Human: Soul Examination!"
The body breathed its last as its soul was taken out for examination. The soul dispersed, being sent on its way to judgement before the figure sighed.
"It's as we predicted. This was all planned by..."
=Mission Group=
"Good job team. Mission complete!" Kiba beamed, his pal barking in agreement.
"Everyone here and account for?" The lazy genius asked.
"Leader-sama isn't here," Tiger said. The Konoha-nin looked around the area, the Flames did not.
"He will be fine." They turned to look at Dog who was sitting back down on a rock.
"Not worried are you?" Neji asked, raising an eyebrow.
"He always comes back!" Horse responded, before gesturing to the treeline.
"Missed me?" Kitsune appeared on a tree, overlooking the canyon. He walked into the group before sitting by a tree.
"And where'd you end up to?" The medic asked before turning to heal any of her teammates injuries.
"A little problem."
The genius narrowed his eyes. Something wasn't adding up. "What kind?"
"One that I ended up taking care of."
"Not very informative are you?" Choji said, before continuing to munch on his crisps.
"We completed our mission, what we came to do."
"Alright, back to Konoha! Our flames of youth shine brighter than the sun!" Lee exclaimed before rushing into the trees.
The rest followed suite, the Konoha-nin still eyeing Kitsune.
=Curry of Life Shop=
Ranmaru had finished his shift for the day and was he tired! He felt a disturbance in the for- gold mine valley and soon after that, workers flooded in and ordered for curry.
Their tales of people rescuing them from their labour seemed real but it took a toll on the shop. Their ingredients ran out, but they had extreme profits for the day!
He opened his window and admired the setting sun. It was calm, peaceful here. The distant lights of the village in the distance. The floorboards in his room creaked and he turned round to see no one there.
He activated his dojutsu and scanned the room. He saw it, a chakra signature in the corner. "Who goes there?" His dojutsu still examined the newcomer. 'This chakra, so warming and familiar!'
"This wasn't the meeting I expected but here goes." The figure jumped down to the floor, the hair dancing in the wind. "Hello Ranmaru. Do you remember me?" The figure stepped forward, revealing golden sun-kissed hair with red in it.
So... How'd I do? Good? Bad? Awful? Trash? Amazing? Tell me!
If you have any suggestions, let me know and I'll incorporate them if I like them!
I had fun writing this! Hope you guys enjoyed and be ready for the next chapter!
And that's all for now!
See you later: Ja ne!
