Two fingers tapped against the chain that an armored hand rested on. The armored hand slowly moved to rub the stubble on the smirking face of a man. His hand slowly went back to the armrest, and he tapped his fingers against the black iron throne. His eyes focused on the map in front of him.

A figure appeared behind the man. They wore a cloak that covered their features. The figure spoke, "Once again, we stand here."

"Once again," the man repeated. He studied the map and smiled coldly. "It will happen again. It has to."

"You have, what do mortals say, bitten off more than you can chew. This worked once before, but do you really think it will work again?" the figure asked. Their voice was feminine, and it was easy to hear the woman's smile. "This is not like the last time."

"It is exactly like the last time. There is just one more thing that must be done. One more step," the man said. He stood and placed his fingers to his singed cloak. "Then, it will happen again."

"But, she is not broken like the last one. She has much to live for, and she has not made the same mistake," the woman said. The man turned and looked at her. A small smile came to his face.

"Oh, that will be taken care of soon. Do not worry," the man said. He walked towards the woman. "You may try to interfere, but you cannot stop me. You failed before, and you will fail again."

"Will I?" the woman asked. The man shook his head and started to walk away. "You do not know what is coming for you, and it will be your end."

The man looked as if he was going to respond. Instead, he turned his head and frowned. He spoke, "She sees us, but do not worry friend. You and I will know each other well soon. Just keep on your path. I will be watching."

Reyna's eyes slowly drifted open, and she stared at the ceiling above her. The light in her room was off. What time was it? Reyna slowly looked at her watch and saw that she had woken up just in time for breakfast. She tried to sit up and instantly regretted it. Reyna laid her head back against the pillow and exhaled painfully.

What was that dream? Who were those people? The questions only caused a sharp pain to shoot through her skull, and she sighed painfully. Her head ached with any movement, and she slowly moved her hand to her temple.

Reyna's fingers brushed against a small bandage. What had happened? Why did her brain feel like it had been kicked across the ship? Reyna slowly turned on her stomach and rested her face on the nice, cool pillow.

The door opened, and Reyna slowly moved her eyes to look at who dared let all of the light into her room. Hylla walked towards her and knelt by her. Reyna blinked a few times. Why wasn't Hylla resting? She had been injured.

"You should be in bed," Reyna began, but her words sounded slurred. She groaned and placed both hands to her face. Hylla raised an eyebrow. Her face was no longer pale, and it didn't look like she was in pain. "You're hurt."

"Reyna, what are we doing today?" Hylla asked. "Where are we going?"

"Circe's island. Just waiting for you to heal up," Reyna answered. She frowned in confusion. Hylla let out a soft sigh and shook her head. "Or, are we there already?"

"You already went to Circe's island," Hylla replied. Reyna blinked a few times and just stared at her sister. She frowned. "And, you also have a severe concussion. We were hoping you would remember something."

"I went to the island? Are you sure?" Reyna asked. Worry was in Hylla's eyes, but upon hearing the words, she seemed to be fighting a smile. "Did I ruin anything?"

"Just the entire island," Hylla answered. Any hint of a smile disappeared. She crossed her arms.

"Oh. Sorry," Reyna said. That was great. Hylla was never going to forgive her now "What did I do?"

"You didn't. Circe and Marcus did," Hylla answered. Reyna frowned. She knew Marcus. The two of them had worked together twice before. Had he taken revenge on Circe? "Do you remember anything?"

"I don't," Reyna answered, and she felt sick to her stomach. It took her a moment to look at her watch. "The last thing I remember is going to the doctor's to have them check on my stomach. That means a whole week has passed."

"And a lot happened in that week," Hylla said. She placed a hand on Reyna's arm. "Everything will be fine though. From what I heard, you made a damn good captain."

"I was a captain?" Reyna asked in shock. Hylla laughed. "Are you messing with me? Hylla, are you messing with me?"

"No. I made you acting captain while I was hurt. You went to the island and got Arke's wings back on her," Hylla said. "You also pissed Circe off, and apparently, Marcus owns the island now. You dueled him and ended up getting your brains scrambled."

"Sounds about right," Reyna said. She slowly tried to sit up, and Hylla helped her. Reyna's world spun, and she felt like she was going to fall out of bed. Hylla held onto her. "I'm going to throw up."

"You don't have anything to throw up," Hylla commented. "You threw up on the ship of my deck before you passed out. This is the first time you have been awake. I'll get you soup or something."

"Don't go," Reyna muttered. Despite her protests, Hylla laid her back down. "You're a comfortable pillow."

"I know," Hylla said with a smirk. She met Reyna's eyes. "You need something to eat and drink. I'll be back soon. I promise."

Hylla turned and left the room. An angry sigh left Reyna, and she stared at the ceiling. Her hands gripped the edge of her pillow, and she tried to sit up. The world immediately spun again, and she collapsed against the bed. A much angrier sigh left her.

Reyna didn't want to be alone. Her head ached with every thought, and the fact that she didn't remember anything just irritated her. She finally turned back on her stomach and buried her face in the pillow. After a few moments, she heard a gentle knock on the door.

"Come in," Reyna muttered. She glanced up at the door. Kendall stepped into the room and walked towards her. Reyna looked back at the pillow. "Is something wrong, Kendall?"

"I know you don't want me bothering you, but I was worried. You haven't been awake for days," Kendall said. She didn't meet Reyna's eyes.

"Kendall, I'm sorry. I was in a lot of pain, and I've been having these dreams," Reyna said. She met Kendall's eyes and tried to sit up. Kendall quickly helped her. The world spun again, but a steady hand kept Reyna centered. "I didn't mean what I said."

"What kind of dreams have you been having?" Kendall asked. Reyna waved a dismissive hand. Kendall didn't look too happy, and she averted her eyes. "We're heading to the island soon. Hylla gave out an order to prepare the crew."

"We're almost at the end of our journey," Reyna said softly. Kendall nodded her agreement. "I should be up and moving."

"You need to rest," Kendall said. She placed a gentle hand on Reyna's shoulder. Then, she kissed Reyna. After a moment of shock, Reyna pulled away. Kendall met her eyes and cupped her face. "Reyna, I have had a crush on you ever since I met you, and I've tried to ignore my feelings. When you turned me down the first time, I tried to get over it. I can't."

"Kendall, I don't," Reyna began. Kendall retracted her hand and slowly stood. "I'm sorry. I can't return your feelings, Kendall. I just like you as a friend."

"Yeah. I shouldn't be surprised," Kendall muttered. She turned and stormed away. Reyna tried to stand, but the world spun worse than before. She collapsed back onto the bed and groaned in pain. Reyna placed both hands to her face.

Reyna was left with more questions than answers, and it was only going to make her more irritated. Reyna didn't know what the dream meant. She didn't know why Kendall had confessed her love, and she didn't remember a damn thing that happened the week before. Reyna grabbed her pillow and buried her face in it. She just wanted to pass out and not wake until this stupid, godsforsaken quest was over.
