Chapter 43
As expected the rush of regular customers had come and gone.
He was a creature of habit. Even on the run he had made it a point to stop by her cafe.
Karen walked calmy over to the the other few workers that were on staff.
"I've got it covered. You all go on enjoy the rest of day." She said. With a cheerful smile. Once the remaining employees were gone.
Karen locked the entrance door and flipped the open sign to closed.
She made her way slowly over to the back table.
"You have some nerve showing up in my place of business. After shooting my son Larry."
"When is Peyton going to take responsiblity for the actions that landed her where she is.? The helpless victim you see her as doesn't if you stuck around after Anna's death. Things would of turned out differently. You abandoned her. Lucas divorced her and if it wasn't for her lying about his children they would of been friends."
"Heartless he is not. I had every right to go to the police. Peyton needed to be stopped. The pain and regret you live with is of you're own making. Own up to this. A life on the run does nothing but prolong the ending you know is coming." Karen said.
When the police car sirens got louder. Karen turned from him and went towards the front door of the cafe and unlocked it.
As the officers filled inside the cafe.
Karen made her way out of the cafe. And drove back to the hospital.

"I had to visit someone. There was no need to go looking for me. I'll be right there." Rosemary replied.
"I wasn't asking you. I was telling you." Darren Stevens said. As he walked over to where she was grasping her wrists tightly.
Rosemary attempted to break free. That only caused him to pull on her harder.
When she stopped resisting and went along with him. He let down his defenses. It was then that she punched him in the face and took off running towards the exit door.
"Rosey what's going on here.?" Karen asked. The teenage girl. Practically running her down.
Rosemary's eyes were wild.
"Help. He won't leave me alone.!" Rosemary exclaimed.
Karen wrapped her arms around the emotionally shaken girl.
"Who is bothering you honey.?" Karen asked.
"Darren Stevens. The police officer. Who's also Mitchel's dad." Rosemary replied.
"Let's get you settled in the car. And we'll figure things out from there. Come on it's okay." Karen said. Attempting to reassure her granddaughter.

The Police Station
"Ryan and Kennedy are free to go." The officer said.
Brooke felt her heart leap out of her chest.
"My lawyer couldn't figure out a way to free them from this. What happened that suddenly changed things.?" Brooke asked.
"A victim of Mitchel and Darren Stevens came forward. Darren has been covering for his sons crimes for years now. And Darren isn't innocent either. On behalf of this police department. Myself and the other officers we apologize for you're sons being taken into custody and held all this time." She said.
"We will get through this. Thank you." Brooke replied.
"Mom!" Ryan and Kennedy exclaimed in unison. As they ran to her.
"My boys.! I love you so much. Everything is going to be okay."
"You're dad and i will make sure of it." She reassured. Hugging them tightly.
As the three left the police station together.
