Chapter 43

ARIZONA'S P.O.V:

"Okay, so here's the office that you will be working in. It's nearly right across from where Doug and I will be." Callie tells me. Today is my first day working with her, and she felt the need to show me around, letting me know where everything was at. Even though I have been here multiple times.

"I've been here before, Calliope," I tell her with a smile.

"I know babe, but I just wanted to show you around. Let you get the feel for things."

Stepping closer, I bring my lips to her ear "Only feel I want to get is you...inside me." Whispering my last few words, sent a shiver down her spine.

"I have work to do babe," She tells me. I just give her my pouty look, the look I knew she couldn't resist. It seemed to work because the next thing I knew her lips were on mine. The kiss started off slow but turned more passionate.

"We should probably lock the door," I tell her, breaking our lip lock. She went over to lock the office, then closed the blinds.

"Where were we?" She asks, turning back to me. She pulls me in for another passionate kiss. Before I realized it, She's grabbing me by the back of my thighs to sit me up on the desk, never breaking our connection.

"I want you, Calliope." I moan out.

twenty minutes later, we were putting our clothes back on, there was a knock at the door.

"Callie," I hear Doug's voice on the other side.

"I'll be out in a minute." She calls, as she's getting her belt fastened. "You ready?"

Nodding my head, she opens the door.

"Hey, Doug." She greets him. "I was just showing Arizona where she will be working at."

"Uh-huh. For twenty minutes? With the door locked and blinds closed?" With the look on his face, he knew what just happened. "Come on. Our new artist will be here soon." He goes to walk away, but turns around to look at me, "Make sure you wash that desk." I could feel my face turn red after his little comment.

Three hours into my first day, I started feeling a little uneasy. My stomach started to hurt really bad. It wasn't a normal stomach ache, like you had eaten too much. This was much worse than that. Callie was across the way, but as bad as I was hurting, I couldn't move. So I pulled out my phone and dialed her number, but after four or five rings, she didn't pick up. As I went to redial her again, a text came through my phone.

-Can't really talk. In the middle of recording.-C

Letting out a sigh, I sent a quick message back.

-Need you in here A.S.A.P-A

Twenty minutes went by since I sent the text, But still no Callie. So I tried dialing her number again, still no answer. This time, I was bent over, in so much pain, tears rolling down my cheek. Not knowing what to do, I tried to stand up, but the pain shot right through me, knocking me back down in the chair. So I decided to call her again, but this time leave a voicemail. Just as I was about to dial her again, she opened the door to the office.

"Hey, I'm sorry, we were in the middle of..Arizona, what's wrong?" She asks. I couldn't speak. The pain was so bad now, it left me speechless. Looking up at her, she could tell something was wrong.

"Callie.." I whined out. She was by my side in an instant.

"Can you stand up?" She asks, trying to lift me out of the chair. I just shook my head. I couldn't say anything. We were suppose to get an ultrasound today, figure out my approximate due date, but looks like we won't be going. "Ok, hang on." She reached for the phone to call an ambulance. Five minutes later, Doug walked in.

"Callie, hey, we need you back..What's going on?"

"I don't know Doug. I came in and found her balled over. She texted me and said that she needed me as soon as possible, but when I finally got in here , she was like this."

"Is she okay? Anything I could do?" I could see the worry in his face.

"Just cover everything. I'm going to ride with her to the hospital."

"Call...Dr...Capshaw..." I say, between each shooting pain. "We were suppose to have an ultrasound today."

"I'll take care of it," She tells me. A moment later, two paramedics came into the office.

"What do we got?" One of them asks.

"My wife is in pain," Callie tells them.

"Do you know how long she's been like this?"

"It started 45 minutes ago," I stated.

"45 minutes? Arizona, why didn't you say anything."

"I fucking tried," I growled, "You didn't answer.. ow."

"Okay, does she have any medical history of any sort?" the paramedic asked.

"No, but she's pregnant." Callie states.

"Do you know how far along?"

"I think, about 7 weeks, maybe 8." I breathe out.

"Okay, were going to take you in and have you looked at. Can you stand up?" Came the other paramedic.

As I was about to answer, but the pain started to get worse, so I shook my head.

"Go grab the stretcher. We need to get her to the hospital fast." The paramedic says to his partner.

Sitting in the E.R, waiting for OB to arrive, I just look up at Callie. More tears began to form.

"I'm sorry Callie," I say, apologetically.

"Why are you sorry? You didn't do anything," she tells me.

"For yelling at you," I tell her.

"It's okay, I should have responded sooner."

"What if we lost the baby?" My vision was starting to become blur from the tears just thinking of the possibility.

"We will just have to wait and see what OB says."

"What the fuck is taking so long? The pain is getting worse." I tell her. Another 10 minutes pass and OB still hasn't arrived. "Can you check and see what's taking so long?"

"Yeah, I'll be right back." She makes her way over to the E.R desk. A moment later, she returns. "Well?"

"They said Dr should be here in five minutes." Just as the words escaped her mouth, OB finally arrived.

"Arizona, I'm Dr. Deluca. I'm the OB on call. What seems to be the problem?"

Letting out a breath, I explained to her what was going on, "I think I'm having a miscarriage. I was sitting at work, and pain just starts shooting through my abdomen. It started off as a stomach ache, but just got worse after that." I can see out the corner of my eye that Callie was really worried.

"Okay, well we will get you moved to the OB floor and have a look okay? Do you know how far along you are? Have you experienced any bleeding?"

"I don't know. I never made it to the bathroom to check. Once it started getting worse, I couldn't move. But I think I'm 7, maybe almost 8 weeks. We found out almost two weeks ago. I was around 5 weeks, almost 6."

"Okay, have you had any other cramping or pain before this?"

"Yeah, I did. The day we found out."

"Did they do an ultrasound?"

"Yeah, the Dr. we saw, said that everything looked okay, and said I was for sure pregnant. He also said to scheduling with our OB.

"Okay, well let's get you upstairs so we can have a look. I'd also like to draw some blood if possible." She tells us. The nurses moved fairly quickly to get me upstairs to the OB floor. They drew some blood, and had them sent out right away.

"Alright Arizona," Dr. Deluca says, entering the room. "Blood results did come back. But I want to take a look." Judging by the look on her face, it wasn't good. She powered up the machine and grabbed the gel from it's cart. "This will be a little cold." She tells me, then starts moving the transducer around. I grabbed Callie's hand and gave it a squeeze.

"Do you see anything?" Callie asks. Dr. Deluca didn't answer. My heart started to pound.

When she finally got a clear picture, she finally spoke, "I'm sorry, Arizona. But I'm not seeing anything." Letting out a little sob, Callie leaned down and wrapped arms around me and held me as I cried.

"We lost the baby, Calliope." I sobbed into her chest. "I'm so sorry."

"It's not your fault babe." She tells me, running her hands through my hair.

*I apologize for a update. I did struggle with this one a little bit also. Been trying to figure out how I wanted things to go that stuck with the storyline. I'm also not good with writing in miscarriages or anything. So bare with me. This is my first fanfiction.
