Chapter 37

Hot Spring

I sat by one of the windows on the airship, watching the lands below pass by. I smiled at the sun set and closed my eyes.

"Hey."

Yuna came and sat down across from me.

"Your neck."

I smirked.

"I know. And I know it was just a dream. I know he's gone Yuna."

She took my hand and I looked at her. She smiled.

"You've always been the one to tell me not to give up. I won't have you give up on yourself and Sir Auron. You're going to get him back. I know life has always been hard for you, and it's never been fair. You finally had someone to give you a love you more than deserved and then it was just taken from you."

I squeezed her hand.

"Yuna, answer me honestly, do you blame yourself?"

She looked at me sadly.

"A little."

I leaned forward and hugged her.

"Don't ever blame yourself. If you hadn't become a summoner I never would've found him again. The days I did have with Auron were more than I could've ever asked for. Yes it was unfair, but it was better than never having him at all." I told her.

I leaned back and smiled. She left and I once more looked out the window. I must have fallen asleep because when I opened my eyes, Auron was there smiling at me. Tears welled in my eyes and I shook my head.

"You're not real."

"I am in your dreams, Amahy."

I reached out and touched his cheek. His skin was warm.

"If you're the real Auron, and not just a dream... where did we meet for the first time?"

He smirked.

"Outside the temple in Bevelle. You tugged on my coat and poked me until I chased you."

I took his face in my hands and stroked his cheek.

"I know I'm gone, but I can come to you in your dreams. Your love and longing for me is what brought me. I told you I would never really leave you."

He looked down.

"Auron?"

"I'm so sorry." he said.

"What? Sorry?"

"I didn't think it could happen. All those times that we... I didn't know..."

I understood then.

"Authion."

He nodded.

"He's beautiful, Amahy. But I was selfish."

"How could you be selfish for wanting to be with me?"

"You were only seventeen. I made you a mother at seventeen."

I pulled him into my arms. It really was Auron.

"Well, I'm not sorry. You gave me the greatest gift I could ever ask for. You gave me our son. Auron I don't know if I would've survived losing you if it hadn't been for him. And I'm going to find a way to bring you back, then we'll raise him together."

He sighed and shook his head.

"Amahy... you need to give up on that. Our son needs you to give him all of his attention."

I shook my head and tears welled in my eyes once more.

"Amahy you have to. Authion needs you. He needs his mother."

"He has me! What he needs is his father."

He took me in his arms.

"Shhh. I'm sorry, I'm sorry. The last thing I wanted to do was upset you."

I looked into his eye.

"I can't give up, Auron. Please don't ask me to. Please." I said softly.

He rested his forehead against mine cupped my cheek.

"Don't you want to be with me again?" I asked.

His breath hitched and he held me tighter.

"More than anything. You know that."

I kissed his warm lips. When I leaned back a bit I said,

"Then don't ask me to stop."

He traced my lips with his thumb.

"I won't stop until I bring you home." I whispered.

"Okay... okay."

He kissed me passionately. I laid back and wrapped my legs around him, pulling his hips to mine.

"Amahy?"

No! No not yet!

Auron pulled away from me.

"Go."

I shook my head. He kissed me and then I opened my eyes.

"Auron!"

"It's just us." Rikku said.

I fought back tears.

"Just another dream..."

That was when it hit me.

"A dream."

Tidus had been a dream of the Fayth, like Jecht. But at one point he'd been real.

"I need to talk that Shinra!"

I jumped out of the bed and ran right for the bridge.

Yuna's POV

"What did she mean another?"

"She dreams about him Yunie. I think that's the closest she ever gotten to having him back. It must be a good dream too! I haven't seen a mark like that on her neck in over two years."

Rikku winked and Paine smirked. I thought for a moment.

"Tidus was a dream of the Fayth, just like Sir Jecht."

"Do you think she's gonna try and bring Auron back through a dream?"

"But wouldn't that just make him a dream? Would it be the real Auron?" Paine asked.

"You have a point."

"But, Amahy has always had very special dreams. She can see things, things of the past, the future and even what someone is doing halfway across Spira while she sleeps. I remember when we were children, when she woke up she had a cut on her arm. She'd followed our father, Sir Jecht and Sir Auron through Macalania. She fell from a tree."

"But is she powerful enough to actually summon someone from the dead?" Paine asked quietly.

I sighed sadly.

"No."

"B-But.. what about how strong her love is? We knew him when he was alive... well at least we thought he was alive. What I mean is, they loved each other so much! They have a love most of us only dream about. Right Yunie?" Rikku said.

I had to smile as I nodded.

"That's true."

"Then let's hope whatever she has planned works." Paine said.

I nodded again.

Amahy's POV

Kimhari called for us to come to Mount Gagazet so of course we went. I was always happy to see Kimhari. After all, he'd been my protector since I was a child. Kimhari looked around and then looked at me.

"Authion is on Besiad. He's safer there for now."

He nodded and then looked at Yuna.

"Kimhari sorry."

"Sorry about what?"

"Kmihari said he would find spheres for Yuna, but Kimahri not find one. Kimhari disappoint Yuna."

"It's okay Kimhari. Of course I'm happy you tried to search, but Yuna has to deal with Yuna problems."

I smiled a bit.

"Still one place Kimhari not search, Fayth Scar. Scar is sacred part of mountain, where Ronso not tread."

"Might still be some spheres up there." Paine said.

"Summoners once come to climb sacred mountain, now only sphere hunters come. Kimhari worry they defile sacred ground."

"Must be Leblanc's goons. Mind if we check, Kimhari?"

"Kimhari trust Amahy and Yuna, Kimhari not worried." said the Ronso.

Yuna and I smiled at him before we made our way up the mountain. I remembered climbing this mountain two years ago. I smiled a bit and we kept going. We encountered a few fiends along the way but nothing we couldn't handle. We kept climbing up and up until we saw one of the goons. Yuna, Rikku and Paine wanted to follow them directly, but I had a better idea.

"This way!"

Yuna, Rikku, Paine and I stood on a rock overlooking what seemed like a spring. Two of Leblanc's goons were there.

"That water felt great! Can you believe there's a hot spring in a place like this?" asked one.

"But isn't this supposed to be sacred Ronso ground? Maybe this wasn't such a good idea…." said the other.

"What!? You think some Ronso boogie man is gonna come get you? Better that than the boss, know what I mean?"

"Hey! You two been slacking off?" came Ormi's voice.

"No, we were, uh, getting ready for duty. Just trying to, uh, rejuvenate, sir."

The rock we were on started to shake and then we fell. Ormi and the female goons ran off screaming.

"What's this?" Yuna asked.

"A hot spring?" Rikku asked.

The Syndicates left a uniform. I walked over and picked it up.

"Well, well."

They smiled.

"Well as long as we're here." Yuna said.

I smirked.

"On sacred ground!?" Rikku asked.

"No one's looking." said Paine.

We decided we stay a little bit.

"Ah this feels great." Yuna said.

"Hm what have we here!?"

Rikku crawled over to Yuna and I. I smirked.

"What?" Yuna asked.

Rikku looked down at her breasts and smirked.

"Whatever! I know who's got it going on."

"Excuse me?!"

"Amahy too! Maybe more so!"

I rolled my eyes.

"I am a mother remember?" I said.

"I remember even before that. Now I know why Auron always wanted alone time with you."

I had to laugh. She now crawled over to Paine.

"Stay away!"

"Ooh!"

"Wanna get hurt?" Paine asked.

"You should check out Paine!"

Paine stood up.

"Hurt time!"

Rikku stood up and faced her.

"You want some!?" she asked.

Yuna stood.

"Ooh! Let me help!"

She went behind Rikku and held her back.

"Uh, I didn't mean it!" she said.

"Too late!" said Yuna and Paine.

I laughed and shook my head.

"Yuna, what's all the noise?" came Brother's voice.

"Just taking a little dip." she said.

"Y meddma teb? Code….uh...pink! I'll be there right now! Gahhhh!"

I smirked.

"Brother?" Yuna asked.

"Don't worry, I knocked him out." said Buddy.

I laughed harder than I had in a while.

"Maybe we should get out. I'm getting all pruney." Rikku said.

I nodded and we got out and got dressed.

"Hm, I really needed that." Yuna said.

I nodded in agreement and we left. However we were stopped by the two goons.

"We'll be taking that uniform back." said one.

I rolled my eyes.

"If we lose it, Leblanc will give us the heel." said the second.

I took out Auron's sword.

"You're welcome to try." I said.

They jumped at us and I took both out. I smirked.

"Such naïve little girls." I said.

As we climbed Ormi found us.

"Lousy Gullwings! Falling down on people like that. Gave me a little surprise, that's all." he said.

I chuckled.

"For a little surprise you sure took a while to come back." Paine said.

"W-Who asked you!?"

He ran at us and we fought him off as usual.

"This is Brother. How is everything?"

I smirked. He was always checking up on Yuna.

"Mission accomplished. We found ourselves a uniform." Yuna said excitedly.

Now we only had one more to go.
