Azula was upset, but she had the patience for what she had planned. She went out to the gardens where Jet sat with his simple breakfast of rice.

"At least some people remember their place."

In his position, Azula towered over him like a giant statue meant for worship. "I just came from seeing the others. Your girlfriend and my brother definitely fucked last night. They couldn't keep their eyes off each other."

"Enough. What do you want? You said they have secrets, but the only thing you keep telling me is that last night, your brother took advantage of Katara."

"Whatever version you tell yourself to help you sleep at night." Jet's glare made Azula roll her eyes. "Fine, I'll give you an idea. When Zuzu and Iroh came to power, they said that Fire Lord Ozai had been defeated. Everyone assumed that he was killed."

"Assumed?"

"Correct assumed."

"You mean he's still alive?!" Jet stood up quickly. "Do the others know?"

"Well, of course, how could they not. They were all there, Ty Lee, Suki, Sokka…"

"All but Katara."

"I wonder what she would think, knowing that they all lied to her?"

Katara walked into her room and closed the doors behind her. She still could feel Zuko insider. After breakfast, the prince and the Fire Lord had things to discuss with her brother, but before he left, Zuko took her by the hand and kissed her.

She raised her fingers to her lips.

"So, you gave in to him?"

Katara snapped her head up, her mind pulled away from her bliss world.

"Jet? What are you..."

"I'm right. You fell for Zuko's charade and gave yourself to him."

"That's something I don't want to discuss with you. Now, get out of my room."

"Your room?" Jet looked around, "What about this room is actually yours? I see nothing of your tribe. Even your clothes have nothing to do with who you really are and where you come from.

"Jet, you know nothing of who I am."

He scoffed and came closer, so now they were only inches apart. He leaned down, placing his lips by her ear. "Don't forget, I'm the only one who knows who you really are."

Jet slips a hand onto her waist, but it was quickly removed. Katara drew the water from the flowers that adorned her room and used it to propel and freeze him against the wall.

"That's the water bender, I know." Jet laughed.

"You know nothing of who I am today. The Katara from before has grown."

"Yes, she seems stronger. You will need that if you're going to kill the Fire Lord."

"I would never harm Iroh!"

"No, not the fake they have prancing around. The real Fire Lord. Fire Lord Ozai."

Katara's heart began to race, but she didn't release Jet. "He's dead."

"Really? Are you sure?"

"Jet, everyone knows he was defeated."

"That doesn't mean he isn't alive. Come, I'll show you."

Katara felt a crawling sensation within her bones. Jet had dropped the smug mask; he always cloaked himself in and had become severe. Was Ozai really still alive? She eased him down from the wall and placed the water back in the flower pots. "Alright," she glared at him, "Show me."

Zuko took the last sip of his tea and left the cup on the table.

"So that's that," Sokka smiled widely. "You and my sister will be married next week.

"And we will have your coronation as well. It will be nice to relinquish the throat and go back to my tea shop in Ba Sing Se."

"I can't believe this is really happening," Zuko couldn't help but smile.

"To be honest, me neither. I had no faith that you could win my sister over. Absolutely none."

"Thank's Sokka, I really appreciate your honesty."

"Well, I am a realist."

A knock came from the outer door, and soon a commotion grew from outside the curtain that shielded them.

"What's going on," Zuko finally called out.

Suki, along with Ty Lee, walked in.

"Katara is gone." Ty Lee blurted.

"What?!"

"I don't know what happened. I walked Katara to her room, and she closed the door. I thought I had heard something, so I knocked, but no answer. When I opened the door, there was no one in the room."

"Tell them the rest," Suki encouraged.

"Oh, there were definite signs of water bending."

Zuko got up and ran past the girls. They all followed him.

"Azula has to be behind this," Sokka growled with his sword in hand.

"How long has she been missing?" Zuko almost sounded panicked. If his sister had Katara, there was no telling what she could have done to her.

"As soon as she went missing, I had the guards looking for her, but we didn't find anything."

Zuko came to a stop a few feet away from Katara's room. "Ty Lee, how long?"

"About an hour."

Zuko felt his chest cave in, "An hour?!" He continued to Katara's room.

"Prince Zuko, Ty Lee did the right thing. Sending out a search party as soon as Katara went missing gave us better odds in finding her."

"Better odd?! Better odds would mean she would have been found!" Zuko kicked opened the door to Katara's room, "So where is she?"

"Nephew, calm down."

"Yes, Zuko."

Everyone looked up to see Katara standing in front of her balcony.

"If anyone should be upset, it should be me."

"Katara," Sokka was first to say her name. "We were all worried." He took a step forward, but Katara raised her hand in defense.

"Stay back!"

Zuko was the closest and reached out to her, "Katara, what happened/ Where did you go off to?"

Quickly Katara took the water from the flower pots and used it to cuff Zuko's arm to the wall.

"What the hell?" Zuko shouted and then freed himself by shattering the ice.

"Katara," Iroh spoke calmly in hops to calm her. He could feel the anger raging within her body. "What has you upset?"

Suki and Ty Lee had run to the prince's side, but Zuko stepped in front of them.

"What did I tell you, Katara." Jet stepped out of the shadows. "They would protect him over you any day."

"Jet?" Sokka was surprised to see him there. What did you do to my sister?"

"He did nothing but told me the truth. I have been nothing but a pawn to all of you. My life was just something to dictate, something to play with. It all wasn't real."

"That's not true," Zuko corrected. "Katara, everything, my feelings for you and the night we shared was all real. Everything I ever told you was the truth."

"And what about what you didn't tell me what you all didn't tell me?"

They all looked to one another, not sure what Katara meant.

"Let me help you guys out," Jet stepped forward, allowing a scroll to roll loose from his hand. "This document speaks of a prison deep in the belly of the North Poll. Purposefully design so that no fire bender, no matter how strong, could ever fire bend again. This prison was designed to only hold one prisoner, Fire Lord Ozai."

No one said anything. Iroh opened his mouth to speak, but Zuko spoke first. "My father is no longer the Fire Lord."

"Ha," Jet boasted, "So you did lie."

"Zuko, you lied to me. All of you lied to me. You've lied to the world."

"Lady Katara," Iroh began, "No, we did not lie."

"Omitting the truth is a lie."

"Katara, it was the only way." Sokka explained, "If the world knew Ozai was still alive, then his followers would do everything to see him free."

"If Jet found out, and I found out, your secret will be found out by everyone eventually."

"We hoped that wouldn't happen," Suki spoke with shame filling her expression.

"If anyone is to blame, it's me. I was the one who dueled my father, and I was the one who chose to let him live."

"Why? He's a monster. If he gets out, he will retake control. He will have us all killed." Katara did her best to hold back her tears.

"To kill him would have been wrong."

Jet threw the paper he held to the grown., "Wrong?! He murdered thousands. Your entire family murdered thousands, and it would be wrong for you to deal him the fate he gave many?"

Zuko hated explaining himself to Jet, but he knew Katara needed to hear what he had to say. "If I would have taken his life, I would have been no better than him. Who am I to say who lives or dies?"

"Aren't you next in line?"

"Yes, but I believe in better ways than death."

Zuko and Jet glared at one another until Katara spoke again. "I get it."

Jet turned to her, "What?"

"Taking a life, it changes you forever. I never used my bending to take a life. Even when I'm defending myself, I'm careful not to kill anyone in the process. But, you all lied to me. I boasted to Azula how much I could trust you, Zuko, and you'd lied. You had this secret this entire time." The tears started to roll down Katara's face.

It broke Zuko to see her cry and be the cause of it.

"But I was a fool, and she knew it. She said you had your secrets, well, are there any more?!"

"No, Katara, no." Zuko moved towards her. He wanted to hold her, comfort her, but Jet stepped in the way.

"Don't you touch her." He threatened.

"Get out my way."

"Jet, stay out of this." Sokka warned as Suki, and Ty Lee retook their positions of defense.

"Don't forget, you lied to her as well, Sokka. What did the Fire Nation promise you to feed your beloved sister to them? Was it power? Status?"

"How dare you." Sokka launched at Jet.

"You guys stop it!" Katara shouted, but Sokka did not stop.

Zuko being the closes, stepped between the two. "Enough!"

He extended his arms, and Sokka stopped, but Jet did not. Jet swung his sword aimed for Zuko's head. A resounding no came from Katara and Iroh. Zuko ducked his head in time, and Iroh shot a fireball forcing the sword to fly from Jet's hand. Katara used her bending to pin him to the floor with shards.

"Arrest him!" Suki shouted, and the Kyoshi Warriors who were outside of the room rushed in to take Jet.

"Katara? Katara, what are you doing? Do something!"

"You were going to kill him."

"He's Fire Nation scum. Worse than scum. He's the son of the man who murdered thousands. The son of the man whose hands had my parents killed. Who had your mother murdered!"

"No, Zuko isn't a part of that!"

"Can you trust that? How many more lies are they all keeping from you?"

"None," Zuko spoke firmly. "No more lies. From now on, Katara knows everything."
