Interviews (3)

Goodeveningladiesandgentlemenboysandgirls! Again, I come to you this week with three other interviews! Boy, I love taking some time with each girl and get some juicy insight on how they are navigating the Selection… and let me tell you, it's really interesting… This week, we are going to get to know better a girl from each of the lists…

Jenissa Stark, 24, Labrador:

Jesse: Why did you sign up for the Selection?

Jenissa: I was dared to by my friend, and you know me: I'm never one to back down from a challenge.

Jesse: You are on two of the lists: how do you feel about that?

Jenissa: Well, I certainly didn't plan on it, but I'm not that surprised. Who can resist this charm?

Jesse: I heard you had a date with Prince Silas, recently. How did that go? What did you two do?

Jenissa: Not much, really. We just had a couple of drinks and played a bit of music together. He's a great musician besides being the heir to the country.

Jesse: You know I love the tea… I saw Prince Nathan going to your room with a huge box. I'm so curious, though: what was in that box?

Jenissa: Something very... impressive. *winks* But I'll keep that between myself and the prince.

Jesse: I'm going to get a little private, here, but have you ever had any boyfriends – or girlfriends! – before the Selection?

Jenissa: A couple of boyfriends here and there. I've always been busy with my music so it's different having the time to slow down in a relationship like this. It's nice.

Jesse: A Princess or a Queen must know several languages because they have to entertain foreign dignitaries and whatnot. Do you speak other languages?

Jenissa: A couple, for sure. My mom made me speak Portuguese at home growing up, then I took a semester abroad in Italy when I was studying at the Conservatory, so I can speak Italian pretty well. And I started learning French, but I'm nowhere ready to converse with the Duchess or anything.

Jesse: Can you give me two weaknesses and two strengths?

Jenissa: Weaknesses? Pfft, I don't have any of those! Just kidding. I can get pretty full of myself sometimes; you know, you work in the film industry, you get a little egotistical. And I find it difficult to connect with people, emotionally speaking, unless it's through my music. But maybe that's the price you pay for being a brilliant, musical genius.

Jesse: What's your favorite drink?

Jenissa: Oh, I'm always ready for a glass of good red wine. In my world, it's always wine o'clock!

Jesse: What's your favorite movie?

Jenissa: Hard to say. I love all the Star Wars movies; great scores, fun story, awesome world. Some weird dialogue, though. I think my favorite movie spot would have to go to Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark.

Jesse: Can you describe yourself in 3 words starting with the same letter?

Jenissa: I'd say virtuosic, vivacious, and verbose.

Jesse: On a scale from 1-10, how much do you love Doug?

Jenissa: Definitely 10! I love dogs! I've got two of my own back home and I miss them a lot.

Pallas Ramirez, 23, Belcourt:

Jesse: Why did you sign up for the Selection?

Pallas: Love of course! *laughs* No, but seriously… you know my dad is the Governor of Belcourt, right? Well, when I was a kid, I used to go with my dad to many functions, and he came to the Palace, too, so I met the princes when we were just kids. And since I liked them when we were kids, I thought "why not?". *pause* Though I think Nathan didn't remember me… oh, well!

Jesse: You are on 2 of the lists: how do you feel about that?

Pallas: I'm not surprised honestly. Silas and I never really clicked when we were kids, either. I might be too wild for him! I don't know. But I'm glad I'm on Nathan's and Val's lists because they're both such sweethearts and good friends, you know? Yes, I said Nathan was a sweetheart! And he is.

Jesse: What dates did you go on, up until now?

Pallas: Hmm, let me think. I've spent lots of afternoon around the pool with Nate and some of the girls, but as in official dates? The first one was a group date with Val and we spent the day on the beach! It was really nice and relaxing. I talked for a long moment with Val about college and what we wanted to do with our lives, you know? And then the second date was a 1-on-1 with Nathan, and we camped just outside the Palace! It was fun. Marshmallows, ice cream talk, and sleeping bags!

Jesse: I know you've talked about your MBA studies with Prince Val. What are your plans when you graduate?

Pallas: Sneaky Jesse! I didn't even tell Val, why would I tell you? But if you really want to know, I'll be staring up my own business…

Jesse: What kind of business?

Pallas: Now, that's classified… Until further notice…

Jesse: Fine… *laughs* I also know that you went to see your parents on your birthday instead of celebrating here, with your fellow selected and the princes. Why?

Pallas: Because I missed my parents! And we did what we do every single year for my birthday: just us, no phones, and we go eat ice cream for lunch in our favorite ice cream place. Then we watch a movie and we enjoy our family. I know it may sound weird, but we've been doing that ever since I was a kid, so… I didn't want to miss it this year just because of the Selection.

Jesse: Can you give me two weaknesses and two strengths?

Pallas: Oh, that's easy! I'm definitely a people person, and I know how to lead a group. But then, as weaknesses, I've had people tell me I was a little too carefree, you know? And at the same time, I care too much. Is there even a good balance between these two things?

Jesse: What's your favorite dessert?

Pallas: Ice Cream of course!

Jesse: What's your ideal date?

Pallas: Picnic and movie. Or movie and picnic. Or a picnic and an outdoor movie!

Jesse: Can you describe yourself in 3 words starting with the same letter?

Pallas: Flirtatious, fun, and free-spirited.

Jesse: On a scale from 1-10, how much do you love Doug?

Pallas: 9! I love him so much! I wish I had a cool dog like him. He's the cutest and most adorable thing in the Palace.

Ashia Onelle, 21, Honduragua:

Jesse: Why did you sign up for the Selection?

Ashia: I needed a change of scenery… some personal things I needed to get away from. Besides, who doesn't want to meet the royals, right?

Jesse: You are on 2 of the lists: how do you feel about that?

Ashia: I was honestly very surprised… not the two lists I was expecting if I have to be completely honest. I mean, Nathan is kind of scary sometimes– in the beginning, mostly. I've grown used to his exuberant personality…

Jesse: How many dates have you been on?

Ashia: Uhm, I think I started with a group date with Nathan. I was terrified! But we went mini-golfing (there was also, Dyani, Malia, and Veronica) and I think Nathen surprised us all. He was very nice, a real gentleman. *pause* though I think he realized we were a little wary of him, you know? So, he was nicer, maybe… Then, the second date was with Valerian! Now that was a fun date! We went outside, in the rain, and we jumped in puddles *laughs*. I got a cold after that, but it was worth it.

Jesse: I also remember you had your birthday not long ago, right?

Ashia: Yes! And Nevaeh was so nice! She organized a whole spa afternoon for whoever wanted with everything you can imagine! Fancy snacks, music, massages, a nail salon, and everything! I think after my date with Valerian, this was my second-favorite day of the Selection.

Jesse: Where were you in your studies, right before the Selection began?

Ashia: I had just applied to college, actually, and I was supposed to go to the local community college. I know Valerian and some others are going to do a study group for the first semester of college, but I decided to take a gap year and go to college next year. This is all too exciting! I couldn't possibly focus on studying Agricultural Science, right now…

Jesse: What is something very important to you, at any given time?

Ashia: matching socks! I find it very satisfying…

Jesse: Can you give me two weaknesses and two strengths?

Ashia: I know I can sometimes be surly and close myself off from people, but I've been trying to get passed that and make friends, here… And they would probably tell you that I am a soothing presence and that I can (most of the time) keep my emotions in check. Not always, but I'm working on it…

Jesse: What's your favorite food in general?

Ashia: anything that is Italian! But if I have to get more specific, I love the Ceasar salad, and I looove garlic bread. It's just so satisfying to eat!

Jesse: What's your favorite season?

Ashia: Summer, obviously! We only have "summer" in Honduragua, anyways. But I'd like to live through a real winter. I don't think Angeles has one of those, though, so maybe I'll have to go more north, but one thing at a time…

Jesse: Can you describe yourself in 3 words starting with the same letter?

Ashia: I'm mellow, maternal, and I like to think of myself as someone mysterious!

Jesse: On a scale from 1-10, how much do you love Doug?

Ashia: uhm, a 4. I like him, but I'm not super comfortable around big dogs…
