15. Spirit of All-Knowledge

Last Chapter-

Percy looked at him strangely, trying to figure out how he could've known his name. Then it clicked, "C-Cosmog?! How do you know my name?"

The man looked amused. "Of course, I know your name just like I know almost everything else in the universe. There is a reason I am called the spirit of all knowledge."

Percy's pov

"Really?!" Percy asked surprised. "I mean if you know everything do you know somewhere, I can go to where the gods won't bother me?" he quickly asked.

Cosmog nodded wisely. "I am aware of your situation. There is a very simple solution to this," he paused.

Percy grew exasperated, "Well, what is the solution?"

Cosmog's eyes glowed gold as soon as he demanded this and he said in a hollow voice "You must travel to a different planet where the gods have no dominion." His eyes turned back to normal and he cursed.

"Wh-what was that? "Percy asked shocked. Cosmog looked at him with an unreadable expression seeming to be deciding if he was worthy of the answers. He sighed finally and answered, "That emblem on your forearm that appeared when I came in my physical form is very special. It represents the bond between you and me. It shows that you were worthy enough to be claimed by the scroll of all knowledge. It also means that if you directly demand an answer, I will have to answer." He narrowed his eyes at Percy in warning, "This ability will not be abused. If you use the information for bad causes, the scroll will leave you, and with it so will I."

Percy was overwhelmed with the realization that if he wanted to know anything, he could know it in a few seconds. He knew that everything is not to be known by everyone. Some things are better left alone. Then his thoughts turned to Cosmog's 'solution'.

Can it really be that simple? Can he leave this planet? Should he leave this planet? His family, the ones who stayed by his side, and the ones he newly made were the only ones keeping him from jumping at the chance to travel the galaxy. But they would want him to be happy, right? Besides if he stayed or visited them now, he would put them all at risk. He couldn't do that, not to his family. He could come and visit later on. Cosmog is bonded to him so he could him how they are doing. His decision was made.

When he came out of his thoughts, he saw Cosmog intently observing the library. "Hey, Oz would you telling me more about the universe?"

Cosmog looked confused at the nickname, so he clarified, "Oz is your nickname. Cosmog is way too long and you are exactly like the wizard of Oz is supposed to be. So, it is fitting."

"Your mortal references are indeed quite strange, Perseus. But I will be willing to teach of the ways of the universe before you venture out." Percy didn't ask how he knew that he was going to the other planets and let him continue.

Oz raised a hand and the hologram of the universe appeared. "Woah. So cool," Percy whispered.

"The universe did not begin from Chaos as most of the population like to believe although he had a huge hand in the creation of planetary life. It began from a consciousness called Cosmos. With Cosmos, came the Void. Together, they created the twin creators, Chaos and Order. They were a happy family and soon, they had a younger brother named End. Cosmos and Void grew apart after a few millennia though, after an intense battle that I believe the earthlings call the Big Bang theory. It caused an explosion and they accidentally created the universe. It was enough to confine them to be apart from each other. Chaos and Order soon took upon raising their brother End by themselves. They also created life on the planets."

He listed," The first planet that they gave life to was Earth. They created Gaia, Ouranos, Pontus, Tartarus, Nyx, Erebus, and Aether. They were the first forms of life they created and accidentally gave them excess power and made them minor primordial. Soon, from the primordial came the titans, then the gods, then the demigods and the mortals. Chaos and Order realized that the immortal entities can cause a lot of destruction and may try to harm the rest of the universe, so they tied each of their life forces to the core of Earth so that if they were to venture away from it, they would fade into the void. They made forbid each of them to tell of the rest of the universe's secret to any of their children or mortals. They created the rest of the life on other planets based on the mortals and the demigods. None of the other planets have entities more powerful than the primordial but they can't be threatened by any minor primordial unless they come to Earth."

He then gestured vaguely at the hologram and a division in three ways was created. "Soon enough, life thrived in different ways on each planet. Chaos, Order and End divided the universe three ways and each looked after their section for centuries, helping them to develop and grow. But they soon realized their creations spread corruption very easily. Chaos and Order did all they could to actively help their people, but End," he waved his hand, and a portion of the universe that were corrupt turned black. "He sat back and observed the people. He decided that the universe's citizens had no hope left. He found them unworthy to save from their own doing. So, he destroyed life on every planet that was corrupted in his section. Chaos and Order were justifiably horrified at their brother's actions. He tried to convince them to join his cause but they refused and tried to stop him. End had never used such power of destruction before. His rage and power overwhelmed him and he waged war against Chaos and Order. Obviously, they won because otherwise, neither of us would be here now. They scattered his essence in the void so that he was unable to back his physical form."

Oz flicked his wrist and the three-way divide turned into a two-sided divide. What was curious though that the sphere representing Earth directly in the middle of the divide, not in either one of the sections clearly. Percy raised his hand like he was in a classroom. Oz's mouth twitched almost forming a smile. "Yes, Percy?"

"Uh, in whose section is Earth in?" Percy gestured to the hologram of Earth.

Oz's eyes lit up as he explained," Ah, you have a keen eye. Earth was one of the very first planets Chaos and Order created together. The primordials are their children, they both wanted to look after it. So, they decided that they would alternate each century to look after. At this moment, Order is its protector."

Percy nodded in understanding. "What about money? How does it work?"

"The universal money is Drachmas essentially. One Drachma is equal to fifty Nuckels and One Nuckel is equal to fifteen soods. But every planet has its own financial system but you can exchange the universal money on most planets."

Percy mentally calculated that he has fifty drachmas now. That should be enough. He looked at Oz hesitatingly," Can I really travel to another planet?"

Oz looked thoughtful," Technically, Earth is a forbidden planet." At Percy's look of confusion, he explains," It's a forbidden planet. It means that the creators have forbidden anyone from another planet to have any mode of transportation here. No one but they themselves can come here unless someone has both of their permission." He continues," But they haven't said anything about an earthling traveling to another planet."

Percy grinned, "Alright, but how do I travel to another planet?"

"There are runestones in that casket you found the scroll. If you put them in a certain order and say the right chant, it can form a void portal to any planet, only once."

His eyes widened in the realization of what those rocks are. "Hey, Oz," he said casually. "What planet would you recommend where I can get away from the gods, train with my powers, and perhaps, find a way to travel the universe and find a purpose."

Oz grinned conspiratorially, "If you want training and a purpose, I'd suggest going to Planet 32, Serra."

Percy nodded thoughtfully, "I guess, I finally have a destination in mind now." He started towards the casket but an empty feeling in his gut made him ask, " Oz, do you know what's happening with my mortal family?"

"Of course, your mortal consists of Sally Blofis, Paul Blofis, and your mother is pregnant and quite happy and content except for the occasional worry about you."

Percy was gaping. But in his mind, he was still processing the fact that he could have another sibling that is mortal, other than Ari and Tyson.

"Do you know how Ari and Taz are doing as well?" He would like to say goodbye to all of them before he left.

"Ah, Arya Chanda, the daughter of Poseidon and Tazrin, the son of Demeter." He hadn't known that about Taz but it makes so much sense except he's isn't a cereal maniac like his mom. "They are both on a quest with Diana, the daughter of Hecate to retrieve the mirror of Peirasmos."

"What!? They are on a freaking quest already?!"
