We're back at it again, folks. A trio of time travelers has come from the future ready to help our heroes deal with the androids. Will they be able to change the outlook of the battle and stop things before they get too bad? Find out, now.

The Son Squad Ch.37

While the three new arrivals' pressing matter was an important one, none of the trio members looked particularly ready to start talking. All they could do was look down at the Android that seemed on the verge of breaking, with his one missing arm being visible from the air. Even though they all didn't have the psychic link like Gohan and Chiyo had, they all thought the same thing: He's different, too.

Meanwhile, Android 20 was having a bit of his breakdown as he looked at the trio of warriors from the future. He couldn't find any information on them whatsoever in his data banks, but he could tell they would be trouble for him. Having three more do-gooders to contend with was not part of the plans whatsoever. They've backed me into a corner, Android 20 thought to himself. My only option left is to escape and activate 17 and 18 to deal with them. Although, the thought of activating those two before knowing if their reprogramming has worked is risky.

"Have you guys really just been fighting him and the android from before?" Trunks questioned the Z-fighters, being the first of the trio to speak, his eyes not staying trained on the Android below. "They're not the androids from our time!"

"What?!" Vegeta growled. "You can't be serious! That thing is obviously an android! If it's not one of the ones you warned us about, then what is it?!" He demanded answers, and he wanted them now.

"….We don't know," Daichi answered this time.

"He's definitely an android, but he's not 17 or 18," Chibi added.

"17 and 18?" Piccolo questioned. If he recalled correctly, the Android below had referred to himself as 20, and the one Vegeta blew to bits was referred to as 19.

"Wait, what did they say?" Krillin asked, not sure he comprehended the horrible and confusing news the trio has delivered.

"But then, who is that?" Gohan questioned, looking down at the Android below.

"What in the world is going on here?" Tien added to the fray of questions.

Surely there had to be some clear answers to explain this wackiness. It didn't have to mean something terrible, right?

No one expected Bulma to show up in a rocket car with Yajirobe and little Trunks during all this confusion. This was definitely the wrong place, wrong time sort of thing.

"Get out of here!" Trunks shouted at his mother, who was staring in shock at the Android below.

Using this opportunity to his advantage, Android 20 shouted, "I warned you that you had no chance of winning! The moment I'm gone, number 17 and 18 will be here to finish you fools all off!" Before anyone could process what the heck he was talking about, the mad Android fired off a blast that blinded everyone and sent the rocket car spiraling out of control in the air.

Most of the fighters shielded themselves from the dust-up attack and waited for it to die down before looking to see if Android 20 could still be seen. Instead, all they found was the landscape shifted by 20's attack that allowed him to escape.

"Damn it!" Piccolo gritted between his teeth. He had the thing on the ropes. If he hadn't been distracted, this whole mess could've been avoided, and everything would've been taken care of right then and there. He glanced back to find his two pupils were okay, along with Krillin and Tien. No one seemed to have sustained any lasting injuries, so it appeared the attack was just a cover for the machine to getaway.

A loud crash was heard, though, and, mostly everyone, looked over to see the rocket car Bulma had previously been in had come crashing down. Luckily, Bulma wasn't still in it and had been safely placed on the ground by the older version of her son. "That was a close one," She sighed in relief upon realizing she was safe and sound. She couldn't believe how she had almost been blown up. However, Bulma instantly began to panic when she didn't see her son (despite him technically being right behind her). "Where's Trunks?!"

From above, crying was heard, and Chibi came floating down to the ground with the baby in question crying in her arms. "I got him," Chibi reported as she came down and tried to comfort the crying baby.

Bulma instantly got up and ran over to the young woman and snatched the child out of Chibi's arms, not so much in a mean way, but in a quick motherly sort-of way. "Oh, thank you!" She thanked Chibiko, smiling up at the young woman who was slightly taller than her. She slightly rocked the small child in her arms. "I was so worried for a second."

"It's no problem, Bulma," Chibi insisted to the blue-haired woman. This confused Bulma for a moment at the fact that this girl knew who she was, but then she chalked it up to time-travel knowledge or something. Besides, she was a bit too focused on trying to calm her crying son down.

Soon after, Daichi came down to the ground with a frightened Yajirobe clinging to his neck. "I'm dead, I'm dead, I'm dead!" Yajirobe repeated with his eyes squeezed shut. He dared not look, even when Daichi was back on solid ground.

"You're alive, don't worry," Daichi told Yajirobe before prying him off of his neck. "And I'd like my neck back, thank you."

While this was all going on, Trunks was glaring up at Vegeta. The prince seemed more concerned that Android 20 got away and not how his infant son and the child's mother were almost killed. "How dare that scrap heap get away!" Vegeta growled through gritted teeth.

Trunks just glared at him with a scowl all over his face. It was only when Krillin and the twins came to check on Bulma and baby Trunks that the warrior from the future went to confront Vegeta about what he'd failed to do. "They were in trouble, and you didn't even bother to help them!" Trunks shouted at Vegeta.

Vegeta rolled his eyes. "And I should care, why?" He questioned. (He sure seemed to get over his shock rather quickly about this being his son from the future). Right now, his main priority was finding that piece of metal and finishing the job.

"Don't you care about your son and his mother?!" Trunks shouted. How could his father be so callous and cruel? Sure, he was aware of the stories from his mother that his father wasn't the best kind of person, but he must've cared about them a little bit, right?

"Does it look like I give a damn?" Vegeta quipped back. "They're just weaklings who just get in my way." He could care less about the two. He was focused on the current situation at hand more than anything else.

Meanwhile, down below, Gohan, Chiyo, and Krillin were making sure Bulma and baby Trunks were okay while also assessing the two new fighters that had come with Trunks.

"You sure you're okay, Bulma?" Krillin asked the blue-haired woman who was trying to calm her child down.

"I told you, Krillin, I'm all right," Bulma insisted as she rocked the little baby boy. "If it wasn't for the mystery kid and his friends here, who knows what would've happened."

"You guys sure moved fast back there," Gohan remarked, turning to Chibiko and Daichi. "But who are you? And where's the woman from before? Did something happen to her?"

"Our sister? Oh no, she's fine," Daichi answered, crossing his arms over his chest. "She stayed behind while we came back with Trunks to help with the Androids. As for who we are, well…. that's kind of a secret."

"Regardless, it seems like things turned out a lot different based on what just went down with that Android and the other one you guys were fighting earlier," Chibi chimed in. "Those two androids definitely weren't 17 and 18."

"But if that old looking Android and the one from before aren't the ones we were warned about, who were they?" Chiyo questioned.

"I'm pretty sure that old guy was Dr. Gero," Bulma suddenly added into the conversation so casually. She was busy making silly faces at baby Trunks in an attempt to get him to stop crying. "I never met him in person, but I have seen pictures of him in some old science journals my Dad had."

The five warriors, on the other hand, quickly turned to the blue-haired scientist after hearing this. She couldn't be serious! That was Dr. Gero?! Everyone else was soon called over after this revelation was announced.

"Quit spouting nonsense, woman!" Vegeta shouted when Bulma reiterated herself to everyone. "There's no way that could've been Gero!"

"I've read plenty of journals on him, Vegeta, I know what he looks like," Bulma quickly shot back at the prince. She even glared at him a bit as little Trunks continued to cry in his mother's arms. "And quit frowning at Trunks; you're making him all fussy!"

Vegeta scoffed and looked away from the blue-haired scientist. How dare she talk to him like that! Still, he slightly respected her for actually being willing to try and put him in his place. Of course, this was only slightly. He didn't care or anything. To vent his frustration, he turned to the future version of his son; "Everything you told us was wrong! You said Gero's own creations killed him! And the ones we fought weren't the right ones, were they?!"

"…. You're right," Trunks sighed, running his fingers through his short-purple hair. "Events are unfolding differently. And, if I had to guess, meddling with the timeline must be the cause of it."

"You mentioned before Androids 17 and 18, and so did Gero," Piccolo spoke up, standing not too far from the time-traveling trio. "Those are the two from your future, right?"

Chibi nodded. "That's them," She replied. "And they definitely look different from Gero and that other Android you were fighting. If you didn't know it, you'd think they were normal human."

"17 is a young man with long black hair and an orange scarf around his neck," Daichi stated to the group. "He also has a pair of round, gold earrings."

"18 is a girl, blonde hair running to her shoulders and a blue outfit," Chibi explained as well. "18 also has those same earrings."

"They both also share eyes as cold as ice," Trunks added in.

"Do these things siphon energy like the other two to gain power?" Tien questioned, wanting to contribute to this discussion.

"No, it's much worse than that," Trunks stated. "Their power lasts forever!"

"No, that's impossible!" Vegeta quickly argued. "Infinite power is a myth! You're all just weak!"

"Oh, like you have room to talk!" Chibi quickly snapped back at Vegeta. He didn't experience the horrors these machines caused. (I mean, a version of him briefly did, but this specific version of Vegeta had no clue what he was in for). "You haven't fought them, so how would you know anything?!'

"Mind your tongue, girl!" Vegeta growled and glared at Chibiko. How dare she speak to him like that. She was a no-good welp who had no authority to talk to him in that manner.

"Why you-!" She looked ready to lung at him when Daichi put a hand on her shoulder and shook his head at her. Chibi glared back at Vegeta before backing down. The last thing they needed was to start fighting each other. Although, Chibiko was going to keep this in mind.

"Where's Goku?" Trunks questioned, trying to diffuse the tension and focus back on the matter at hand.

"About that," Krillin began. "Turns out he didn't get the heart virus until just now. He should be at home right now recovering."

This wasn't good. It looked like time was completely screwed up by this time-traveling mess. Bulma had warned them about this happening, but she figured that it was better than doing nothing and continue to live in a world without any sort of hope in it. Still, right now, it was seeming like the cons were outweighing the pros. Had things become so skewed to the point of being unsalvageable?

After a bit of conversing, Bulma told them the last place she heard Gero was hiding out and gave the Z-fighters an idea of where to look. Vegeta was more than eager to get moving but wasn't too thrilled about the idea of destroying the inactive androids like Piccolo suggested they do. No, he wanted to let the machines become active so he could get a decent fight. Trunks, Daichi, and Chibi, tried to get him to reconsider this and realize what trouble 17 and 18 were, but once Vegeta's mind is made up, there's no changing it. He left the scene in a rush, dead set on fighting the two androids.

"Idiot!" Tien shouted after Vegeta left. "What is he thinking?!"

"Vegeta's managed to become a super saiyan. For all we know, he could be strong enough to deal with the androids," Piccolo tried to reason. He wasn't too thrilled about the idea of Vegeta being stronger than him, but right now, that seemed like what they needed. "Maybe we can take care of this all on our own, as he said."

"Don't forget, there's four of us who can go super saiyan back in our time, and we barely put a scratch on those monsters, even when we were all at full power," Trunks reminded Piccolo and everyone else. "I may not like him, but I won't let my father face them alone!"

With that declaration declared, the purple-haired teen from the future rushed off after Vegeta.

"And there he goes," Daichi sighed, shaking his head. "He's always gotta be rushing off into things."

Chibi rolled her eyes. "Like you have any room to talk," Chibi remarked to her brother. "If I recall correctly, you two decided to rush into things not too long ago, and Chinku and I had to come in and rescue your sorry butts."

"….I don't seem to recall that."

Chibi groaned and shook her head. She couldn't understand how she was Daichi's younger sister.

Speaking of younger sisters, the twins quickly picked up on Daichi and Chibi, mentioning Chinku. "Wait, Chinku?" Gohan questioned upon hearing the name of his little sister.

"Oh crud," Chibi face-palmed herself upon realizing what she said.

"Nice going," Daichi remarked, earning a punch in the arm from Chibi. He had to rub it due to how sore it was. "Oww! Geez, sis! Save it for the androids, will ya?"

"Just who are you two?" Chiyo probed, wanting to get some clarifications about these two.

"And that guy was talking about his father. What's going on here?" Bulma joined in on the questioning.

"It's time you all knew the truth about these time travelers," Piccolo spoke up, seeing that there was no reason to keep everything a secret. "That young man that left was you and Vegeta's son. And that woman from before was none other than Chinku."

"What?!" Bulma, Krillin, Gohan, and Chiyo shouted when they heard this news. The more they all thought about it though, the more sense it made. After all, both of them could turn into super saiyans, so them being who Piccolo said they were made things add up much more simply.

"Wait, if Chinku is the one from before," Krillin stated before looking over to Daichi and Chibiko. "Then who the heck are you two?!"

"You both said that Chinku was your sister," Gohan slowly pieced together.

"But that could only mean that you two are-" Chiyo continued.

"Daichi and Chibiko," Daichi answered, absolutely flooring both Gohan and Chiyo. Daichi smiled at the twins, showing off the Son grin that belonged to their father. "Nice to see you too again."

The twins couldn't believe what they were hearing. These two teenagers were their baby brother and sister? The hardened warriors who looked like they had been to hell and back? And to top it all off, the woman from before who helped kill Frieza and his father like they were nothing, was their younger sister, Chinku?! This was absolutely bonkers!

"I think we blew their minds," Chibi slightly chuckled to Daichi.

Piccolo soon took charge of the situation with that all cleared up and put together a game plan for them to follow now; "Tien, Krillin, Chibi, and Daichi, you four come with me. We must find that lab before Vegeta or Dr. Gero. If we can destroy 17 and 18 before they're activated, it'll save us all a lot of trouble."

"Sounds like a good plan," Chiyo said, but she did wonder why Piccolo hadn't included her and Gohan in this search party.

"Bulma, can you go tell my Dad what's going on and to come to join us when he's better?" Gohan requested of the blue-haired woman.

"I would, but I can't really go anywhere since my rocket car was destroyed," Bulma stated. "And Yajirobe can't exactly fly us out of here."

"Hey!" Yajirobe huffed. It wasn't his fault he couldn't fly.

"True. Gohan, Chiyo, you two take Bulma and Yajirobe out of here," Piccolo instructed the twins. "The rest of us can handle destroying some deactivated androids."

"Are you sure, Piccolo?" Chiyo questioned.

"Positive."

"Just be careful," Gohan and Chiyo requested of their mentor and the others.

With that taken care of, the five older warriors set off to find Gero's lab before the death machines could be activated.

Now Gohan and Chiyo had a decision to make, who was carrying Bulma and baby Trunks, and who would carry Yajirobe. In the end, Gohan had to end up carrying Yajirobe while Chiyo took to carrying Bulma and baby Trunks.

Goku found himself running. Something was up ahead, and he knew he had to get to it. It would've been easier to fly, but he tried, and for some reason, he couldn't even get himself off of the ground. All he could do now was run. "Damn it!" He muttered under his breath. "I gotta get there!"

He panted as he tried to pick up the pace. He felt so tired and worn out. How could that be? He was fine not too long ago, right? The closer and closer he got to his destination, the more exhausted he felt. Still, Goku pressed forward. He had to get there. That was where the endgame was.

When he finally did get there, Goku found a ruined landscape all around him. It was the remnants of a city. He couldn't tell which one since the place was absolutely trashed. Buildings were on fire, and near the point of collapse, smoke hung in the air and blocked out the sky, and the screams of others were echoing through the landscape. "Oh no…." Goku managed to squeak out. Was this his fault? Was he to blame? He had only been gone for a little while. No way could all this destruction happen because he wasn't there.

As he searched around to see if he could help anyone, he stumbled across a grizzly scene; he found his friends, including Vegeta, dead on the ground; their bodies were thrown about like they were pieces of trash. The way that Yamcha, Tien, and Piccolo were posed reminded Goku of when he came to fight Vegeta and Nappa, only this time, their eyes were open and staring blankly at him. Vegeta was posed similarly to how he died on Namek, and Krillin was, in the same manner, Goku found him while at the world martial arts tournament. Both also were starting with the blank eyes of death.

"No!" Goku shouted when he saw the nightmare before him. "No, I was…I was just with you guys! You can't be dead!"

"They are dead," A voice from behind spoke.

Goku quickly whipped around to find Android 19 and 20 right behind him. They both were smirking at Goku as he glared at them. Of course, they were the cause of this. They killed his friends. "Why you-!" He growled, trying to power up into super saiyan but quickly losing his breath and falling to his knees panting.

"Oh, what's wrong, Goku? Out of breath, are we?" Android 20 teased.

Goku looked up at the Android, ready to shout at him, but stopped short when he saw that Android 20 was holding Gohan in his left hand and Chiyo in his right. He had both of them by the neck as they struggled to break free of his hold. The look of horror on Goku's face was indescribable. When he looked over to Android 19, he found the Android had both his hands wrapped around Chinku's neck as she thrashed to break free.

"Dad…help," Gohan squeaked out as he tried to pry himself free from Android 20's hold.

"Please, Dad," Chiyo whined as she too tried to free herself.

"Daddy," Chinku cried, still trying to thrash free.

Before he could even try and get up, Goku felt something wrap around his neck and lifted him off the ground. He looked behind him to find….well, he wasn't sure what it was. It was like some weird blob-like creature that had no real distinguishable features about it. It had its arm-like appendage wrapped around his throat and was keeping him from getting to his kids. "Let me go!" He shouted at the blob-like creature.

It just let out a sinister chuckle as it increased its pressure around Goku's neck.

Then Goku heard three simultaneous snaps.

The flight to the mountains by north city didn't take long. In fact, the rag-tag team of Piccolo, Krillin, Tien, Daichi, and Chibi made it there in no time. The problem was that there was no exact way to pinpoint precisely where in the mountains the lab was. All they had to go off of was Bulma's vague instructions. And with each second that passed, it increased the odds that Vegeta or Gero would get to the lab before them.

"What now?" Daichi asked, looking over the vast mountains going out in every direction around the city. "If we don't find those androids soon, we're in big trouble."

"We'll have to split up," Piccolo stated. "It's the only way we'll be able to cover more ground. With the five of us, we should be able to find it. If you do get there, signal the others to let everyone know."

"What kind of signal?" Krillin asked, slightly hugging himself and trying to warm himself up in the cold climate.

"Raise your energy as high as you can," Piccolo answered. "We'll notice that."

"Good thinking," Tien said, agreeing to the terms of this situation.

"Won't that also alert Vegeta?" Chibi questioned. She wasn't exactly a big fan of Vegeta at the moment and wanted to pound him in the face the next time she saw him. However, she refrained herself so she wouldn't get Trunks mad at her.

"It's a risk we're going to have to take," Piccolo remarked. "Hopefully, Trunks slowed him down long enough for us to get to the lab before Vegeta does."

"Hey, we should probably take some senzu beans with us just in case," Krillin pointed out before everyone split. With what was left in the bag, there were six in total. Everyone agreed that Krillin should take the extra one just in case.

"Woah; this is the first time seeing one of these things," Daichi remarked as he pocketed his. It marveled him at how this little bean could bring someone back from the brink of death. (Trunks was living proof of that).

"Wait, you've never seen a senzu bean before?" Tien questioned the young man.

"No. The senzu beans ran out a long time ago. Gohan used the last one in our time to save Trunks when we were younger," Daichi answered. He almost wanted to say, you should know that, but then stopped when he remembered the Tien in his timeline died years ago.

"Trunks felt pretty guilty about it since Gohan and Chiyo planned to use that bean to try and regrow the tree," Chibi added in. "And well…."

She didn't need to explain it to any of them any further. The three z-fighters of the present could tell that Gohan and Chiyo befell an awful fate after Trunks and Chinku came back to warn them about the Androids the first time around. That was part of the reason Piccolo preferred the twins to be away from the fight. He didn't want what happened to their future counterparts to happen to them here. It was a bit underhanded, but he had grown to care for those kids and couldn't stand the idea of them getting killed.

"….If everything goes the way it should, we won't even need them," Piccolo stated, clenching his fists a bit. "Everyone, move out!"

With that said, the five fighters split from each other.

The five warriors are on their way to try and stop Dr. Gero from activating the androids. Will they be able to find the lab before Gero or Vegeta? Find out next time on, the Son Squad.

Hope you guys are enjoying the story so far. I'm glad that I'll be able to flesh out future Daichi and Chibiko a bit more with these upcoming chapters. What do you guys think?
