Prompt: Can you write Kensi telling Nell she's pregnant?
"Hey, you want to grab drinks when we're done?" Nell asked as she and Kensi walked towards the gym. Since Nell's resignation, they'd decided to join a yoga class, giving them the chance to spend some time together.
"Yeah, I think I'm going to skip it tonight," she answered and Nell frowned.
"Are you feeling ok? You've said that the last three times." Kensi shrugged with forced nonchalance and increased her pace a little. Nell broke into a slight jog to catch up.
"I'm fine. I've just been trying to cut down on the alcohol." They were just outside the front entrance and Nell grabbed her arm, pulling her to a stop. When Kensi turned to face her, her eyes were narrowed suspiciously.
"Ok, the Kensi Blye I know and love is always down for a beer. What's really going on? Are you sick?" Nell's voice rose considerably as she asked the second question and Kensi could see the growing concern in her eyes.
Before she could start to panic, Kensi gently grabbed her hand, giving it a reassuring squeeze.
"Nell, I am fine," she repeated.
"But something is going on," Nell said shrewdly. Kensi glanced behind her, as though someone might be listening to them.
"Ok, there is something. But you have to promise not to tell anyone," Kensi added the last part severely and Nell nodded immediately, holding Kensi's had a little more tightly. Kensi took a deep breath, blew it out slowly and then smiling, said,
"I'm pregnant."
"Oh my god," Nell whispered, covering her mouth. She grabbed Kensi and pulled her into a hug. "I'm so happy for you!"
"Me too," Kensi said, smiling. When Nell pulled back she was frowning again.
"But why didn't you tell me sooner?"
"We only realized a few weeks ago and we didn't want to tell anyone too soon," Kensi explained.
"Well, we definitely need to celebrate," Nell decided, turning around and leading Kensi back towards to the parking lot.
"Um, what about yoga?" Nell rolled her eyes.
"Oh please, do you really think I want to go be sweaty with 20 other miserable women? Besides, I hate the instructor. And why workout out when you can have ice cream instead?"
"You're right, who needs exercise?" Kensi decided.
"The important question is, does baby like ice cream?" Nell asked.
"Baby loves ice cream," Kensi confirmed, patting her nonexistent bump.
