Mac's internal clock informs her that they have an hour and a half before they need to be at Bethesda. Removing the arm wrapped around her waist, she slides far enough away from her cocoon of warmth to turn over and face her gorgeous partner. The man that takes her breath away with not only his looks, but with how much he understands her. When she divulged one of the most hidden secrets of her past to him last night, her words weren't met with judgement but with compassion. Running the tip of her index finger just above his brow, and kissing him lightly on the lips, she softly says, "Harm, you need to get moving. We need to get up so that we can have enough time to shower, dress, and eat before your appointment."

In his groggy state of mind, her words don't really register. Instinctively, he immediately pulls the covers back up over his head and she can barely hear his muffled voice murmuring, "Five more minutes."

Mac gets an evil grin on her face as she slides out of the bed. She will just have to handle this like a Marine. She walks over to Harm's side of the bed and yanks the covers off yelling, "Harmon Rabb, snap to!"

Harm immediately jumps out of bed, stumbling a moment before standing at perfect attention. In fact, all of him is standing at attention. Hearing Mac giggle behind the outstretched blanket between them, he snatches it back to cover his morning wood before she can notice it. He sits back down on the bed, ensuring that everything that needs to be covered at the moment is. His cheeks slightly flushed from embarrassment, he remarks, "That wasn't very nice, Mac. First of all, you should know after spending the week with me that I am not a morning person. On top of that, I have gotten very used to sleeping in with you curled up beside me. So, forgive me if it takes me a few extra minutes to drag these bones out of bed."

She giggles at the fact that at least one of his bones had no problem at all getting out of bed. Not wanting him to be thoroughly embarrassed, she doesn't acknowledge what she saw and relents, "Perhaps that wasn't the nicest way to get you out of bed, but I have to say it was definitely effective. In my defense, I did try to kiss you nicely first, but that didn't yield any results so I had to try something else."

Rubbing his hands over his face, he replies "Hmm….maybe try something a little more than just a quick peck, and you will definitely wake me up with no problem. Those muscle relaxers tend to make me a little hazy in the morning. However, I can't promise that waking me up that way would get me out of bed very fast as I would likely take it as an invitation for a reason to stay in bed." He sighs, knowing that it might be a while before he is able to engage in those types of activities, even if his body feels ready. He adds, "At least under normal circumstances."

Mac furrows her brow, noticing that he seems worried about what could happen today. However, she isn't sure if his apprehension is stemming from the fact that he is afraid of receiving bad news or if he nervous about getting an "all clear" to push ahead. Maybe he isn't as ready as she is to take their relationship to the next level. She inquires, "Aren't you looking forward to seeing the doctor? He could clear you to return to full duty and then you wouldn't be cooped up all day. Don't you want to get back in the game?"

How can he possibly explain to her how much he has really enjoyed just laying around here with her doing next to nothing? They are both so busy all of the time, that this forced vacation has been great. Although she will be in the office next to his when he returns to work, if he is cleared to return to work right now, it isn't quite the same as just rolling over and having her in his arms where he can kiss and hold her at will. Although the Admiral might approve of their relationship, he definitely isn't going to tolerate them kissing and making out in the office and in uniform whenever they want to. The cocky fighter pilot in him would never allow him to admit out loud exactly how pleasurable the peace had been. It has been the first time in his life that he doesn't have air under his wings and is completely content being grounded. No other woman in any of his previous relationships has made him have butterflies in his stomach just by their mere presence. He would chalk it up to the fact that he could always act on his urges with any other woman, but he knows it is definitely more than that. Mac isn't just any other woman, it goes way beyond just the physical with her, it always has. That's part of the reason he kept his distance for so long. In part to maintain their working relationship and staying within regulations, also because he was afraid that he would destroy their friendship if they tried for something more and failed, but mostly because he knew that being with her forever meant everything and he would be lost without her in his life.

Pushing his internal thoughts to the side for a moment, Harm only partially answers her question, "I never look forward to seeing a doctor. They poke and prod and stick things in places that are completely less than desirable and weren't designed to have things stuck there in the first place."

Mac heads towards the bathroom, laughing inwardly at the mental picture that creates, although she fully agrees with him. She absolutely hates going for her annual gynecological visit every year. Yes, that specific orifice was designed for insertion, but not by cold metal objects that threaten to split you in two! Slightly flinching at the intrusive reminder, she announces, "I'm going to take a shower first, and I better not come back out to find you burrowed under the covers fast asleep."

As soon as Harm hears her clothes hit the tiled floor, he tosses the blanket on the bed and slips on a pair of sweatpants chuckling, "Yes, Mom! I'll go make breakfast."

He can hear her laughter over the pulse of the water on his way to the kitchen as he ponders the other part of her question knowing that she will ask again. Is he really ready for everything to go back to the way it was before he hit his head? Granted, not everything will be the same as they have finally both admitted their feelings to each other. However, he can't help wondering if their new found closeness will be the same when the outside world invades the little bubble of peace that they have created and that thought is the one that sticks out in his mind as he gets ready for his appointment.
