Santana fiddled with the strange device that Emma had given her, before glancing at Brittany's body that looked completely out of place. Like a doll that had just been tossed into a car. She had no idea how long she'd been sitting in the limo, and she was vaguely aware that they were at the manor. But she still had no idea what she was going to do. The twins were immortal. True immortals. Hell, Charlie had already survived a bombing, she knew that Emma's plan wasn't going to work. Which meant she needed a plan that didn't involve sacrificing her parents for the greater good.
All she needed was a simple idea, it didn't even have to be a good idea. Though, she was certain that Emma had followed the car, and would be watching and listening. Which limited her options considerably. She couldn't make any obvious moves to alert the twins. She had briefly thought of writing Charlie a note or a message to alert her, but she wasn't certain that Emma didn't have other means of setting off the bomb.
Santana turns to look at Brittany again, she felt bad for her. She was the suicide bomber this time, the device buried deep inside of her abdomen. There would be nothing left of her once the bomb went off. She had thought about trying to retrieve the bomb from Brittany, but she wasn't certain that she wouldn't set it off accidentally, plus it would require cutting Brittany open and she wasn't willing to do that.
"Alright, Lopez. You've been in shittier situations before. Hunter, being one of them. You managed to get yourself out of that mess, you can get yourself out of this one," Santana mumbles to herself trying to give herself a pep talk. Emma had forced her into this corner and she couldn't see a path for escape. She didn't want to have to choose between the twins and the life of her parents. If she went through with the stupid attempt, they would probably think she was a thrall and kill her and her parents were as good as dead anyway.
She had spent all this time convincing Charlie and Quinn that she wasn't some terrorist. And sure, the two of them teased her relentlessly about it, but they had always been right there, they'd always been paying attention. If she hadn't been so indignant and had just gone to bed with the two of them, which was something she wanted to do, she wouldn't be in this damn mess. Quinn probably would have come with her, or Charlie would have hidden in her shadow and followed her. She wouldn't have been left with just Brittany. Now she was going to die without at least getting to the bottom of that mystery.
There's a sharp knock on the glass of the door and Santana jumps and looks up to see Blaine, who immediately opens the door. "Blaine I—"
Blaine's eyes focus on Brittany and almost immediately he's pulling her out of the car and carrying her into the manor. "Were you attacked?"
"Yes but—" Santana said stumbling after him, but before she can finish her sentence he's gone. Leaving her in the dust. "Shit." She enters the manor only to see Charlie taking Brittany from Blaine.
"What happened?"
Santana nearly jumps as Quinn voice comes from behind her. "We saw Emma, Brittany tried to protect me but she lost. I managed to escape—" Quinn narrowed her eyes and Santana winces, she had forgotten that they were human lie detectors. "She let me go," Santana finishes lamely. She can feel Quinn searching her for a moment, before she moves to check on Brittany. Santana swallows and watches them for a moment before she reaches into her pocket to grab the switch.
"What do you need me to do?" Quinn asks Charlie who makes two quick motions with her hand.
Quinn flicks her eyes to Santana for a moment before standing up, "Blaine evacuate the building. Get everyone out." Blaine blinks not moving, "Now." With that he was gone, as Quinn turns back to Brittany holding her body down.
Santana's eyes widen as Charlie slowly begins to cut into Brittany with her hands, pulling Brittany's abdomen open and sliding her hands into the cavity. How did they know about the bomb? "How—" Santana pulls out the switch when she realizes that Quinn is currently staring at her with a blank look on her face.
A firm hand suddenly grips her wrist as Quinn appears behind her. "We could smell her and materials from the bombs all over Brittany. Besides I can always tell when you're lying Santana." Quinn murmurs in her ear.
Santana flushes and shivers as Quinn wraps her free arm around her shoulders. "She has my parents—she said she'd turn them into thralls if I didn't do what she said." Her eyes are focused on Charlie who slowly pulls the bomb out of Brittany's body and gently places it on the ground beside her. "Are you going to kill me?"
Quinn hums in response as Charlie wipes her hands free of the blood before picking up the bomb once more. "You are a terrorist," Quinn points out after a moment. "What was the plan?"
Santana licked her lips, she wasn't going to belabour the point this time. She needed to convey as much information to the twins, so that they would know what to do. "Emma has my parents, she said she'd spare them if I killed the two of you. I think she plans to use me to launch her revolution. She wants humanity to be in charge, she wants to go back to a time where vampires could hunt. Where you didn't have to control your numbers and since the two of you were sired by Sue, it would be a devastating blow to her."
Quinn and Charlie exchanged looks for a moment. "I see. So, you brought a bomb into our home in hopes of catching us off guard?"
"Yes. It's how Tina died." Santana licked her lips again. "My parents Quinn, Emma can undo what she did. She can make things better I know that they're just humans and they don't matter to you, but they're important to me."
"You betrayed us," Quinn points out. "You betrayed our relationship, you brought a bomb into our home Santana." With that Quinn releases Santana's wrist and goes to stand by Charlie who was fiddling with the bomb. She runs a hand through Charlie's hair causing her twin to look up at her. "You let us down Santana. We would have done anything to save your parents if you had simply come to us."
"Then why haven't you killed me yet?" From the looks of it they were going to let her press the switch, they were going to let her blow them to pieces, and while she doubted it would actually kill them. It still didn't seem like it was something that they would do.
"What makes you think that this would change the way we feel about you?" Charlie asks, her hoarse voice causing Santana to turn to her. Charlie winks at her. "Take Brittany and when you're clear you can push the button."
Santana starred. "She's probably nearby watching, there's no way that she's just going to believe this—"
"Santana go before we grow bored and change our minds," Quinn says firmly.
Santana hesitates for a moment before she moves to help Brittany up and drags her out of the manor. She spots Blaine outside doing a quick headcount, and immediately hands her off to him before turning to look at the manor. She glances at the switch once more before holding it up and pushing the button.
