=Chapter 18: The two with a curse...=

"Oh, so you're finally awake?" a voice said as Naruto opened his eyes fully. He looked around wearily and noticed a few things.

For one, he was alive. He should be dead! The force from a senjutsu Rasen-Shuriken should've killed him so he would be free from Danzo's grasp but oh no, he's still alive. It's like fate was taunting him.

Two, he wasn't captured by Danzo or one of his goonies, so that was a plus.

Three, some random person had rescued him. Who knows what they would do-

"Who are you?" croaked out Naruto as he tried to move but found he was strapped to the ground with bandages all over his body. "Where am I? Aren't I supposed to be-"

"Save your energy. You'll need if it you want to survive. Honestly, it's a miracle you're alive," said the voice before Naruto drifted into a dreamless sleep once more. He woke up hours later to the sound of the voice again amidst a crackling fire. His half-awake mind could pick up a few words.

The moon peaked its head into the dimming sky as the sun set in waves of orange and pink. The birds called their last for the day as a fire started, the embers bursting into life.

"Awake again huh? It's amazing how fast a bijuu heals you." At this Naruto's eyes perked open, his instincts activated and he started gathering chakra before yelping in pain at his sore body. His chakra pathways were completely burnt out, his own reserves surviving on its last sparks.

"How do you know?" Naruto asked, while lying down on the ground and struggling to get free. "How, how did you know that a Bijuu exists inside of me?"

"It was only a theory." Naruto growled at being tricked just like that. "I only assumed it was a Kekkei Genkai at first, but then it seemed unnatural. You merely confirmed my suspicion, so Uzumaki Naruto, what happened?"

"What do you mean- anyways, who are you?" The silhouette moved against the fire before speaking.

"You could call me your saviour. I was one born with a gift, or... a curse." The figure held up their right hand before snapping their fingers and the fire was ignited more with a gust of wind, before the wind started blowing around the area, whistling through the leaves.

Soon after that, the figure held up their left hand and clicked their fingers again. The earth seemed to shift and a bolt of lightning struck down on the fire, making it burst and crackle more.

"You could call me, a destroyer. However... I have left that path. I now wander round this world after you could say accidentally destroying a village and its population a few years ago. It's actually easier than I thought to fool people with a simple transformation.

"Now since you most obviously have the Kyuubi inside of you, I doubt it will let its Jinchuriki die so easily. I knew you had the Bijuu inside of you, who hasn't heard of Uzumaki Naruto? Apprentice of Jiraiya and Kakashi of the Sharingan. Destroyer of Pein, the leader of the Akatsuki and well... lots more."

Naruto smiled at the though of being famous before shaking the feeling off. "What do you want, and answer my question: How am I still alive?"

The figure did nothing except stare deeper into the fire before talking again. "Like I said before, the Kyuubi and your life force as well is extremely powerful. However, going back to launching into the Rasen-Shuriken. You really could've died there, but it seemed like your body acted out of instinct of not to die. You probably passed out slightly before, correct?"

Naruto nodded at this, remembering the piercing winds of the Rasen-Shuriken. "I passed out, so what happened?"

"Something happened, I'm not sure what but you ended up miles away from Konoha from the blast of the attack. The Rasen-Shuriken somehow knocked you back into the sky, but at the same time seriously injuring quite a bit of your left side. Any sudden movements, and you could make it worse."

The figure shuffled near the fire with it illuminating a bit more of their features. Naruto figured they were about the same height as him, but he had pitch-black hair and dark eyes that seemed to reflect the flickering coals.

"I promised myself to clear this world of pain and suffering, just after seeing great heroes strive for the same thing except never reach the end. I know your master wanted peace as well, so I invite you to follow in his footsteps, join me."

"Just who are you?"

The figure said nothing before taking out a scroll and absent-mindedly writing in it, disregarding the fact that Naruto was trying to break free of his bandages. Unbeknownst to Naruto, the figure's eyes lit up a pale blue and watched Naruto struggle. He smirked only to blink once and found Naruto having his right arm flee of the restraints.

"How did you-"

"So, before I get free, how about some answers?" Naruto fought through the pain as the unknown figure started to sense and see him infusing chakra. They could see their drained chakra pathways start to ignite with the tell-tale colour of chakra, with the great beast within awakening.

"Your left body is rendered practically useless until it heals so I doubt you can even threaten me. Do you have any allies at all that might be able to help you?" The unknown figure blinked once before looking into the fire with the pale blue glow subsiding.

Naruto looked confused at him, still not showing their true face. "Why are you helping me?"

"We were both born with gifts... or even a curse... People like us should stick together, we are seen as something needed to be erased. People fear what they don't understand, like... how is having an affinity for four elements possible? I'm getting distracted and back to where we were, do you have any allies that won't be controlled?"

Naruto thought for a bit as he turned back upright, a light bulb appeared above his head. "Gaara!" The figure gave a slightly confused tilt of their head to Naruto before he got the gist of it. "Oh right, uh... Godaime Kazekage!"

The figure flicked something into the crackling fire before commanding the flames down into a small flame. "Then that is the next stop. You need some specialist care, not some basic medical ninjutsu that I can apply."

"You seem to trust me so much, yet you barely know me. Why?"

"You have a pure heart. One fierce voice in mind keeps repeating: You will find a boy, just like you. Neglected, abandoned, beaten. Save them from peril, and the path to peace will show itself. It obviously talks about you-"

"So you're just going to listen to a voice in your head, just like that-" Naruto grasped his head with his right head as red chakra flowed into his chakra pathways. The figure's eyes widened, turning pale blue in the process as the red chakra collected behind Naruto, forming the outline of the Kyuubi.

"So we meet, Kyuubi. What do you want?"

"Tell me... Oji-sama's... chakra... why..."

"Oji-sama?"

"Hamura! Show yourself!" barked out Kurama as the figure's eyes widened.

"Hamura-sama?!" A voice echoed in the figures mind, that same prophetic voice.

"We meet again, Kurama." The fox figure bowed down towards the figure, before the pale blue eyes burned brighter. "I have been watching you, young one. If you've ever wondered what your gifts are, let's just say... I trust you..."

The red chakra receded back into Naruto's abdomen as he gasped for breath, the rest of the body in pain. "Did that just..."

"Yes."

"So... I can trust you, if Kyu- Kurama says so. Now, you know who I am, who are you?"

More eerie silence spread through the place before the figure shuffled and stood up, eyeing Naruto. "My name used to be Chizami Ryutsuki... but now should I say... Otsutsuki Ryutsuki... The Moon Dragon."

=One Week Later=

=Sunagakure: Kazekage's Office=

Gaara could not be more shocked. Screw shocked, petrified! His ANBU had told him from a report, Naruto was dead, and Danzo was the Hokage? He had immediately sent a message back to Danzo discussing that they were cutting all trades with Konohagakure, until further notice.

And then, Naruto appears, escorted by ANBU with a new friend of his, just in his office! No word at all, just out of the blue and then mentions that he needs some medical attention and wants to stay in Sunagakure! First thought, he had thought he was seeing a ghost or was trapped in a genjutsu but his sand said otherwise.

The shock-stricken Kazekage complied as the medics rushed into take Naruto with the strict command of this being an S-Ranked Secret. He only sighed at the amount of paperwork it would cause him that would follow the splitting headache.

Not to mention, his new companion that had somehow saved him. He thought that no other day would be more eventful for himself, but that was quickly followed by a threat from Danzo. The letter detailed many threats to the nation, but was quickly dismissed and thrown into fire. It was never given a second thought.

Gaara walked up to the windows overlooking the city. It had grown so much, but... what now? Konoha was one of their biggest trade partners, and where a lot of their income came from. Would Suna fall, even deeper than before? What would the future hold? He could only hope that something good would happen.

Then, to find out about this 'Ryutsuki'. They seemed true to their word, calm and dismissive but at the same time emitted immense power. As a common procedure, ANBU crept outside of the room, weapons were ready to strike in case of this newcomer deciding to attack.

"So, you're Naruto's new companion, Ryutsuki?" said Gaara, questioning this newcomer. He would go along with his best friend's word that he was safe, although you can never be too sure. The dark-haired boy only smiled and nodded, the ANBU tensing up. "How strong are you?"

"For one, I can sense your ANBU outside. Two, I wouldn't be so foolish to attack Kazekage-sama in his own village. Three, well... I can definitely take care of myself."

"Naruto definitely trusts you, too much for a person he had just met. What are your plans?" continued Gaara, watching this person like a hawk. He seemed legitimate enough. Not at all sus-

"Like I said to him, peace, following the footsteps of the great but fallen-" Gaara's eyes widened before cutting off his speech and infusing chakra.

"You're hiding something," Gaara stated, before sand started seeping into the room. "You shouldn't lie in front of a Kage, especially not me in the desert. You're hiding two things, what are they?"

The sand crept closer to Ryutsuki, spreading across the floor and covering the carpets. The roof started to fall in before Ryutsuki spoke up.

"Can I at least keep one a secret?" pleaded Ryutsuki as the ANBU started shifting and making their way to the doors and windows. No matter how strong Ryutsuki was, there was no way he could win. It was literally calling for suicide.

"You may."

"Well, let me show you." Ryutsuki brought up both his hands, clicked on the right, and then the left before the skies around Sunagakure darkened. Heat could be felt washing over the village, being buffed by a huge gust of wind. Seconds later, lightning started striking on the outskirts of the village, with the ground rising and falling like waves.

As soon as it came, it all disappeared, leaving a pondering Gaara and shocked ANBU. In the village, ANBU were rushing to secure the defences with civilians fleeing to their houses in fear of an attack.

"You're certainly strong, maybe even a monster but it's too early to assume. Since you're staying with Naruto, I grant you temporary place here in Sunagakure but with ANBU watching you..." The Kazekage trailed off still eyeing him. What else could this person be hiding? "Dismissed."

Ryutsuki walked out of the room, ANBU trailing behind as Gaara sighed. What would this add to his ever growing pile of paperwork?

=Two Weeks Later=

Two weeks easily passed as Naruto quickly was nursed back to health with the professional nurses finishing off the healing job. The two new friends spent a lot of time changing their identities and training by the outskirts of the village, a small genjutsu placed over the area to not arouse too much suspicion.

The two soon were standing by the gates of Sunagakure, as Gaara approached wearing the traditional Kazekage robes. Naruto and Ryutsuki wore pure white cloaks with a hood on top. An orange fire marking was drawn on the bottom of the cloaks symbolising the start of an era.

"I wish you well on your journey for peace. Sunagakure will be at your aid."

"We will be back... soon. We don't know the time but expect us. Thanks again, Gaara."

The two covered their blond and black hair with their white hoods before setting off into the desert, soon disappearing with flickers of sand. The robed figure signalled for ANBU to appear out of the ground and escort him back to the office, with the great gate of Sunagakure closing behind.

A gale whipped up with sand starting to fly through the air, before it turned into a full on storm, Sunagakure staying safe behind the walls. Now they had just over a month to prepare for the weakest bijuu.

Back to the two wanderers, they travelled far and wide across the shinobi land, meeting allies and enemies, befriending others and well, wrecking their enemies. All the while staying hidden from Danzo and his ROOT goonies. Over a period of two years there were 13 hooded figures, each with the same cloaks marking their group.

This group was the Orange Flames of the Sun.

So... How'd I do? Good? Bad? Awful? Trash? Amazing? Tell me!

If you have any suggestions, let me know and I'll incorporate them if I like them!

Ok, so before you go crazy, I'll explain. Why would I give Ryutsuki that Dojutsu? Well, it's one that hasn't been explored much which gives loads of room for it to be played around with.

Also, I think I actually got a plan sorted for the Jonin Exams!

And that's all for now!

See you later: Ja ne!
