It had been a few weeks since the team had gotten back from Russia. Callen had gone rogue in an attempt to find Arkady, and almost got himself killed as a result.
Granger had noticed Hetty being worried and angry because of him, and understood why. Callen was the closest to family Hetty had, along with Callen.
Hetty's office
'You feeling okay now?' He asked.
'I, don't know. Really.' Hetty said, grumpily.
'What are you more upset about? Him going rogue? Or him basically doing what you sometimes do?'
'Oh please! When I do that, it's for a good reason. He had no reason whatsoever to leave everyone in the dark. He could've gotten killed!' Hetty exclaimed.
'So, you're also mad at the thought of his lone wolf instincts returning?'
'I don't get it. He's been slowly coming out of it all, and then he just goes and does something like this! I was not only worried about that, but also about his safety!' Hetty said.
'Okay. One question: Did you really try to stop him?'
'I didn't want to do it, but one of the hardest parts of being a parent, is having to use tough love. And that's what I had to do. The thought of other cops potentially killing him if he resisted arrest scared me.' Hetty said, looking more sad then angry.
Putting his arm around her shoulder, 'It's hard being in charge sometimes.'
'Especially when you have to worry about one of your agents being a danger to himself.'
'He'll be fine. I'm sure you let him know how bad it sis to do stuff like that without a good reason.'
'I did. And I gave him he info he was looking for. He asked if he could have a drink with me, and I refused. I'm just too upset with him right now.' Hetty responded, sadly.
'Just give it time.'
'I know.' She leaned into his side and said, 'Ever feel the need for a vacation?'
'Chuckle, a lot of the time.'
'I'm thinking it might be a good time for 1, given what has happened, and that it's summer.'
'Sounds interesting.'
