For the prompt: Could you write a Drabble where baby Densi is loving Monty? Thanks

A/N: I think I went a little off-prompt with this one, but hopefully it's still enjoyable.

"Deeks, have you seen Caleb?" Kensi demanded, a hint of panic in her voice as she appeared in the doorway of his office.

"I thought he was with you," he answered and Kensi covered her mouth, looking close to tears,

"He was, but I turned my back for a minute to grab his bottle and then he was gone." Deeks immediately dropped the file on a civil suit he'd been prepping for and rushed to Kensi's side, trying not to panic himself.

"It's ok, we'll find him. He can't have gone too far," he assured her even as he took in her frazzled appearance. Parents lost kids all the time, right? This was just a completely normal part of parenthood.

"He's so fast. Now that he can crawl think of all the things he can get into," Kensi said, sounding terrified. "I can't believe I let this happen. I shouldn't have taken my eyes off him."

"Hey, this is not your fault," Deeks said firmly, giving her hand a squeeze before he added, "Why don't you take upstairs and I'll search down here." Kensi nodded, taking the stairs at a run.

Deeks started checking under chairs and behind the couch. A few days ago when Caleb had started crawling, they'd been delighted and his first few toddling trips across the living room floor had been recorded for posterity.

Since then, their curious nine month old had gotten himself into a fair amount of trouble.

"C'mon, buddy. Where are you hiding?" Deeks muttered. As if in answer, there was a quiet woofing sound, followed by a suspicious giggle. Narrowing his eyes, Deeks followed the sounds to the far side of the couch where Monty's stuff was set up. "Hey, Kens? I found him!"

Kensi came racing back down the stairs, looking only slightly less worried. Deeks gestured to the bed where Caleb was laying cuddled up next to Monty, one chubby hand clenched in his fur. Monty didn't seem to mind; his tail wagged lazily and he had one paw braced on Caleb's legs.

Monty looked up and woofed softly which Caleb imitated masterfully. He grinned up at his parents, the beginning of a tooth peeking through, obviously pleased with himself.

"Did he crawl in there himself?" Kensi asked, ask she took in the adorable scene before them.

"I guess." He crouched down, lightly resting his hands on the edge of the bed. "Caleb, buddy, whatcha doing? That's Monty's bed." Caleb giggled again and gestured with his free hand to Monty.

"Ga!" he announced proudly.

"That's right, dog!" Kensi praised.

"Wanna try saying Monty?" Deeks asked, pulling out his phone for a picture. Caleb looked distressed for a second and then repeated, "Ga." with a gummy smile. Monty bore it all with quiet resignation.

"Ok, Caleb, time to get out now," Kensi told him a few minutes later, bending to pick him up. He shook his head, burrowing into Monty's side.

Monty made an oddly human sounding sigh and then carefully rested his head on Caleb's. In a few minutes they were both snoring softly. Kensi reached for Deeks', laying her head on his shoulder.

"We're so screwed when he learns how to walk," Deeks murmured and Kensi groaned.
