Silver Beast: Red Flag
May 23 – Saturday Afternoon
"Where exactly was this hut on the beach?" Chief Mattaki asked as he sat in his office chair taking notes.
"Down by the pier. It's painted white with a blue ore on the backside." Kagome said as she and Grandpa Bob sat in the office chairs across from his desk.
"Did you happen to see if there were any security cameras or motion detectors nearby?" Chief Mattaki asked.
"Oh gosh, I didn't even think about that!" Kagome paled.
"If they do, we'll have our security team hack into their database to remove any video content of you ever being there." Chief Mattaki nodded as he sat back in his chair. "So tell me more about this dream of yours."
"That's it really. I can only assume that the men I saw dead in the warehouse were related to the rebellion. I couldn't make out anyone's face in the vision. It only gave me an idea of the battle that is to come." Kagome sighed as she rubbed her forehead tiredly.
"Hm." Chief Mattaki frowned as he looked at Kagome in thought. "Guess we'll just have to do the best we can in preventing this disaster from happening. For now rest and tell me of any changes that occur in your future visions. We can always alter our plan of attack later."
"That would be for the best." Grandpa Bob nodded approvingly. "Any news regarding the whereabouts of my granddaughter's attacker?"
"Unfortunately we don't. His last known location was from a security camera outside a gas station on the south side of town. Mr. Harold appeared to have been hitch hiking and hasn't been spotted since." Chief Mattaki frowned. "It's very likely he's fled town to avoid getting caught by the local authorities. I doubt he will ever come back."
"Well… that's both good and bad news I guess." Grandpa Bob sighed as he looked at his granddaughter sympathetically. "It's good to know the likelihood of him attacking my granddaughter again is slim but the chances of him hurting someone else is still a possibility."
"Which is why the Society is continuing to look for him. He not only spotted Inuyasha without his charm but is a threat to the human population. Judging by his manner of attack he's likely done this predatory crime before. He needs to be taken into custody no matter where he is." Chief Mattaki agreed. "Until he's found have you come up with a story to tell the authorities should they find you at school?"
"Yeah, I'm blaming everything on him. I'm not even going to bring up that Inuyasha was even there. The goal is to make Harold sound as insane as possible. I want the cops to think he's crazy on top of him being a pervert. Hopefully that will take the cops attention off of Inuyasha and put Harold away for good." Kagome said as she handed him a paper with her written statement addressing the attack.
"Has Sesshomaru looked over this?" Chief Mattaki asked as he read over her altered statement.
"Yes, he's got a copy as well. Now everyone is on the same page in case anyone tries to compare Harold and I's stories." Kagome said.
"Excellent. The more you stand by your statement the better." Chief Mattaki agreed as he placed the parchment into the filing cabinet behind his desk. "Is there anything else you needed to bring to my attention while you're here?"
"No, not that I can think of." Kagome said as she looked over at her grandpa.
"If we think of anything we'll be sure to give you a call." Grandpa Bob said as he stood up on his bow legged legs and offered Chief Mattaki his hand.
"See that you do." Chief Mattaki agreed as he shook his hand.
Once they'd left the welcome center Kagome helped escort her grandpa to the car. Although they lived less than two blocks away from the main gates his old age the past two years have slowly caught up with him. Not wanting him to fall or get too tired Kagome drove him back and forth from the parking lot to their driveway within minutes. They'd just walked through the front door of their new home when Kagome got a ding on her cellphone.
Inuyasha: How was your day? Missed you.
That made her smile. She'd been so frazzled the past couple of hours and reading his text made her feel so much better. Now how did she go about telling him about what occurred down at the beach? There was just too much to say over text and she had a feeling it was going to take a while to explain.
Kagome: I really needed to read that. Thanks, and I missed you too. :) As for my day… It was kind of crazy and stressful. I'd text it to you but it's a long story. You got time for a phone call later?
Inuyasha: Awe, I'm sorry to hear that Kags. Just give me a call whenever's good for you. I can always squeeze in a minute or two just for you.
Kagome: Only a minute? :P I hope that's not a warning for something else in the future.
Inuyasha: Hey now! If I recall correctly I had you crying out for me last night at prom for well over 40 minutes.
Kagome: Guess you'll just have to remind me. ;)
Inuyasha: Better be careful what you ask for wench… you might not be able to handle it. Remember, I don't hold anything back.
Kagome: Oh trust me, I look forward to the ride. So much so, that I'm already primed and rearing to go. :P.
That text had her cheeks pinking a little. They'd texted pretty seriously since they started dating little over a week and a half ago but hadn't taken it quite this far. She hoped she hadn't over stepped his comfort zone. She wasn't going to pretend to be something she wasn't. Inuyasha turned her on and she wanted him to know about it. They were dating for goodness sake. Why hide that information from him? If he got freaked out by her scandalous texts then that was his loss. He being a half-lycan should be able to tell that she'd never been with another man before. If he got upset with her forwardness then he was a fool. She didn't want anyone else but him. She just hoped he knew that. Thankfully she was able to breathe a sigh of relief when she got the next text.
Inuyasha: Gods… I love it when you talk dirty to me. Want to aim for around 10? I'm still in the car with Sesshomaru.
Kagome: Sounds perfect.
Inuyasha: Great, TTYL :)
Kagome: :D
Seeing she still had time for a quick shower she raced up the stairs to get ready for bed. By the time 10 pm rolled around she'd washed, brushed her teeth and dressed in a navy blue spaghetti strap nightgown. She was in the process of combing her hair when she saw Inuyasha's name pop up on her phone's screen.
"Hey." Kagome smiled as his face popped up on the video.
"Hey yourself." Inuyasha smiled back as he closed the door of his bedroom. "We just got home. What are you doing?"
"Combing my hair." Kagome said as she set the phone on her nightstand so she could continue to detangle her damp tresses. "It was really windy at the beach today. I might never get these tangles out. Don't be surprised if I show up at school on Monday with all of my hair gone."
"Please don't." Inuyasha pleaded quickly, making her eyebrow quirk. "I mean, I think you'd look good in any style of hair but I like it long."
"Fine, I'll do my best to tame this beast." Kagome sighed as she ran the comb through another knot.
"That's not the only beast you've promised to tame." Inuyasha teased as he dug around in his dresser.
"No, it's not." Kagome blushed making him smirk. "You're not still with your brother are you?"
"Nah, you're safe." Inuyasha said as he set his phone on his desk so he could change out of his day clothes. His smirk darkened when he noticed her eyes locked onto his bare chest. "Like what you see?"
"Maybe." Kagome giggled as she nibbled on her lower lip.
"Don't tease me like that." Inuyasha groaned.
"Like what?" Kagome asked as she nibbled on her lower lip nervously.
"Like that! I can't stand it when you chew on your lower lip. It makes me want to kiss you and seeing you do it when I can't do a damn thing about it is frustrating as hell!" Inuyasha whined as he tossed his dirty shirt into the hamper.
"Sorry, I didn't know my bad habit was such a distraction for you." Kagome giggled as she finally detangled her hair.
"Yes, it is." Inuyasha said as he grabbed his phone and flopped down on the bed. "That and your pj's are fuckin hot. Is that silk?"
"Satin, actually." Kagome said as she looked down at the dark navy blue nightgown.
"Whatever it is, I like it." Inuyasha purred, making her smile shyly.
She hadn't intentionally planned on teasing him with her pj's but now that she thought about it she did look kind of sexy. Having just come out of the shower her skin was still damp in some places making her look dewy and fresh. Although the nightgown hung loosely on her figure some of the fabric clung to her moist skin. Her breasts looked heavy and round and the night air blowing in from her window caused her nipples to stand proudly on her chest. It made herself feel good about her body knowing her man liked the way she looked.
"Thanks, this is the only pj set I have like this." Kagome giggled bashfully as she tucked a damp curl behind her ear. "Now that I know what you like I'll be sure to wear more of them."
"Or you could wear nothing at all." Inuyasha suggested as he wiggled his eyebrows teasingly.
"Gods you are impossible." Kagome giggled as she laid down on her bed and snuggled under the covers. "So where did you and Sesshomaru go?"
"Totosai's working on a new project for him. He wanted me to go and test it out." Inuyasha said as he rest one arm behind his head. "I can't give you too much details yet but it could be the difference between life and death for us magic folk."
"Wow, that sounds incredible!" Kagome said, earning a chuckle from him. "When do you think he'll have it done?"
"Hopefully in a couple weeks." Inuyasha said just before a yawn escaped his lips.
"Do you need to go to sleep?" Kagome asked as she noticed the tired lines creasing his face.
"Not yet. I want to hear about your day first." Inuyasha said as he kicked off his jeans and tucked himself under his covers.
"You sure?" Kagome asked. "We could always talk in the morning?"
"Can't, Sesshomaru's got me running errands for the Society." Inuyasha sighed as he rubbed his tired brow with his fingers. "Besides, the suspense is killing me. What was so stressful that you couldn't text me about it?"
"Well… everything was fine until around lunch. I was walking down the beach collecting seashells when I felt I was about to have another one of my visions." Kagome began.
"Ah shit… did anyone see you?" Inuyasha asked in concern.
"Not that I know of." Kagome said, making him relax slightly. "I managed to hide behind an old fisherman's shack when my vision came."
"That's good." Inuyasha nodded. "What was in your vision?"
"It was the same as the last one but this time it showed me a little more." Kagome sighed making him frown. "Apparently there's going to be a duel during a huge storm."
"Do you know who's fighting?" Inuyasha asked worriedly.
"I could see bodies everywhere but none of them had faces visible for me to see. They were kind of blurry, almost like I'm not allowed to know who they are just yet. I have an idea of who they might be though." Kagome said, making his frown darken.
"Who?" Inuyasha asked when he sensed her hesitation. "Who is it Kagome?"
