Brooke and Lucas looked to each other with surprise expressions on their faces then back at Jack.
"Wow this looks so good.!" Theo exclaimed. As he raced towards the table taking his seat.
"And smells amazing. Are you a cook or something.?" Al asked.
"It was my turn to cook today. I guess that won't be happening now." Lilly replied. Glaring at Jack. As she joined her brothers taking her plate and her seat beside them at the dining room table.
"This was a wonderful. Sweet gesture Jack. We appreciate it." Brooke said.
Lucas was pleased and appreciated the strong effort that was being made on Jack's part.
"Sit down and eat. We have things that need to be made clear." Lucas said.
Jack nodded taking a seat at the table.
Brooke and Lucas sat beside each other.
"So how old are you exactly.? In terms of school that's an important fact to know." Brooke asked.
French toast. Waffles. Pancakes. Jack had gone all out.
"I'm 16. Just recently turned." Jack replied.
Brooke sighed deeply. She felt deep shame and sadness for the choices her parents had made regarding him. He was a child. Neither of them cared about how their actions would affect him.
"So we will enroll you in the local high school in town. Brooke and i went there along with all of our friends. You'll fit in just fine." Lucas stated.
"Honestly school isn't my first choice with how to spend my days." Jack replied.
The pair looked to each other.
"If Jack doesn't have to go to school neither do we." Theo interjected.
"All of you are going to school. After breakfast double check you're backpacks and homework." Lucas instructed.
"We are in agreement on this guys. So Jack if you haven't been in school all these years then what exactly have you been doing with you're time.?" Brooke questioned.
"Making money. I don't really think you want the details as to what my career path currently is." Jack replied.
"Basically that means you're a criminal. Well i gues that means the police will making another unexpected visit here." Lilly stated.
Brooke glared at Lilly.
"Alright enough added commentary finish you're breakfast in the car. One of us will take you to school." Lucas said.
When Lilly and the boys were out the front door.
The pair focused on Jack.
"We've had alot going on for some time. Things are finally starting to slow down and we are focused on regrouping and re building. So if you're involved in anything illegal you can't stay here at all." Lucas said.
"I understand and i haven't been involved in that world for months. I won't go back. Especially since the two of you have opened you're home to me. If you want me in school. I'll enroll. I have no problem doing that." Jack replied.
"Okay since this is settled you might as well come along. I'm dropping off the kids and i can get you enrolled and we can do some school shopping for clothes and supplies. It's on me so get whatever you want." Brooke stated.
"Thank you to the both of you. That sounds great. I'll give the two of you you're privacy." Jack said. Getting up from the table as he headed out of the kitchen heading towards the front door of the home.
"This is a first for us. Dealing with an older given how he isn't used to rules and structure. This will be an adjustment for him and all of us." Lucas said.
"We'll get through it. Together as a family." Brooke replied. Taking ahold of his hand.
"Speaking of our family. I think we would benefit from therapy. Together and apart. We should bring it up the kids and see who wants to be involved and who doesn't." Lucas suggested.
"I think that is an idea we can all benefit from." Brooke replied.
Lucas leaned over kissing her gently.
Brooke kissed him back. Pulling him closer to her.
"Goodbye kiss or good morning.?" Brooke asked with a smile.
"Both. I'll see you on you're lunch break or mine. We haven't worked out those details yet." Lucas replied. Smiling back at her.
"Day time or night for our first date.?" Brooke asked.
"You leave that up to me girlfriend. Mystery is what keeps the excitment going for years to come." Lucas said.
"It's a good thing you are a subject i enjoy and crave learning about every chance i get." Brooke replied.
"Time with you alone without any interuptions. What will we do with ourselves." He teased.
"Everything and nothing. The usual." Brooke said. Kissing him again as she left the kitchen making her way towards the front door.
