Hey, everyone. It's Augustus again. It's time to video call the girls for their bedtime stories, so Hazel Grace and I settle on the couch; After lots of excited chattering, I start reading Goodnight Moon, which is Abby's favorite. I finish, and they all squeal, "More, dada!"

I chuckle and say, "Okay, one for each." This gets them all excited, and they all grab their favorite stuffies. Abby has an elephant she calls Grey. Ramsey's is Hazel Grace's old bear, Bluey, and Zoey has Shimmer the Unicorn, although when she says her name, it sounds like Simmer. She doesn't quite have the sh sound down yet. Anyway, I read The Pokey Little Puppy for Zoey, and we pick The Saggy Baggy Elephant for Ramsey. When I finish, they're all almost asleep.

"Night night, my little ladybugs," I whisper. "I love you. We'll read again tomorrow."

Hazel Grace joins in, saying, "Night night, my babies. Love you to the moon."

Though they're almost asleep, they blow us kisses and reach out their arms to give us hugs before we end the call.

Hazel Grace sighs and says, "I miss them already."

"I know. Me too. We'll see them soon though."

We dance to Love Me Like You Do by Ellie Goulding, then we go upstairs and make love. Afterward, I hear Hazel Grace ask, "Augustus?"

"Yes?"

"Did you keep the note I left you after Amsterdam?"

"Oh, yes."

"Really?"

"Yeah. I keep it in my journal. I've been writing all about us for ages now."

Hazel Grace smiles, "You're writing our love story?"

"It demands to be written."

"Augustus..." she kisses me and snuggles into my shoulder, her breaths evening into sleepy contentment.

The next morning, I make a breakfast of aausage, bacon, pancakes, and coffee. Hazel Grace comes down freshly showered, and we have a pleasant morning chat. We decide to go to the Louvre, then the Champs Elesses. At the Louvre, we get lost in all the great art.

"I wonder what his motivation was for the Mona Lisa," I muse.

"I don't know," says Hazel Grace. "I wonder if she's supposed to be someone he knew."

"Maybe."

"A sister, cousin?"

"I never read if she was inspired by anyone."

"Me either."

"I'd be interested to know if she was."

"Right? It's intriguing."

"You can't even read her expression, which makes her even more interesting."

"I'd say so."

"Maybe that's the point since all these years later people are still talking about it," I say, winking.

Hazel Grace laughs and answers, "Maybe,"

I give her a kiss, and we walk on, casually discussing what we see. After a few hours, we go to the Champs Elesses.

"Wow, these views are incredible," Hazel Grace muses.

I smile and take lots of pictures, saying, "That they are."

Later, we have dinner and call the girls.
"Dada!" Ramsey says, giggling.
"Hi, baby."

"Mama?"

"She's coming."

Hazel settles next to me on the couch again, and by then, all three are excitedly waiting. Tonight, Hazel reads to them.

"Dowa!" Ramsey calls, meaning Dora.

Hazel Grace chuckles, saying, "It's a good thing we packed plenty of their favorite books,"

I nod and agree, "For sure."

She reads the Dora book for Ramsey.

"Moon!" Abby calls excitedly, so Hazel Grace reads her Goodnight Moon again. She always asks for that one.

"Rella!" Zoey squeals. Hazel chuckles and reads her Cinderella. That's her favorite princess, so that's one she asks for a lot, too.

We both say, "Night night. We love you," and end the call after blowing them lots of kisses.

"How did we get so lucky?" Hazel Grace asks.

"I don't know, but I wouldn't trade a second."

"Me, either."

"I can't wait for whatever our future holds. I love you."

"I love you, too," she agrees, giving me a kiss.

"Okay?"

"Okay."
