When we arrived in what I can only guess was the control room, I was stunned to find a whole whack of dead bodies strewn about. But that didn't keep my attention for long. I blinked and realized that we weren't alone. The first one I saw was Carl.

The look on his face at Mando and I coming through the door, hand-in-hand, can only be described as pure, unadulterated relief. His eyes widened and his jaw quickly dropped. The large blaster he was holding in both hands lowered. "Saoirse!" He gasped. "Carl?!" Surprise is how best to describe my reaction. He held out one arm for me which I ran into; he hugged me close. "Oh, thank goodness…. Thank goodness," he let out a gentle sigh. We pulled back slightly so I could see his face. Of course we immediately smiled at each other. Then I glanced to the side to see…. to see….

My eyes grew; my grin lowering a little in disbelief. I was surprised to find Carl here; I was beyond shocked to see him onboard. I stepped out a little, not taking my eyes off him. Scarred face man! He was here, wearing the armour I recognized from before. Everyone watched in confusion as I came towards him; everyone, but scarred face man. His posture was more relaxed now too.

"You! Y-You're here?! And you've got your armour back!" My grin returned with full force. Scarred face man didn't say anything, but he gave me a once over, as shown by his helmet moving up and down. My gaze lowered onto him in a tender fashion when he reached over to rub the black cloak I was still wear in between his fingers. The cloak that once belonged to him…. The cloak he gave to me that faithful night.

Needless to say, no one had any clue what was going on between us. "You know this man, Saoirse?" Carl came over to stand beside me, eying scarred face man with some suspicion. "We've met once before," I replied, not taking my eyes off him right away. I did look away however, as another moving figure caught my attention. This one I was not so elated to see.

Bo Katan was no longer watching me, rather she had her gaze fixed on Mando, or possibly Moff Gideon; I couldn't tell which for sure. She started to approach them, seeming quite unhappy about something. "What happened?" The false-Mandalorian asked. That's when Carl and scarred face man's demeaner altered too. Carl wrapped one arm protectively around me, pushing my front into his chest and holding my back. He couldn't have glared at Gideon harder.

"Kill him," the ex-shock trooper commanded to no one in particular. "Hold on," Mando brought a hand up in the air. But Carl was having none of it. His grip around me strengthened. "What are you doing? Kill him! He's come for Saoirse twice and he'll do it again. What's the point in keeping him alive?" "Oh, I already have what I need from her. That still doesn't excuse the fact that I should have killed her when I had the chance," Gideon chose his words unwisely- very, very unwisely.

To all but my astonishment, it was scarred face man who yanked out his gun and aimed it at Moff Gideon's head at this. Even Gideon looked alarmed. I wasn't taken aback though, considering that he's saved my life multiple times before. Bo Katan stopped him however, which actually surprised me that he listened to her. Her eyes were still glued in my husband and Gideon's direction. "Wait," her gloved hand rose up. Gideon gave her a look just then which was terrifying; it was weird to see him look at someone else with that level of hatred.

"Why don't you just kill him now and take it?" "Take what?" I asked as Carl still held me nice and safe. Gideon's head spun to Mando. "It's yours now." "What is?" My husband asked in return. "The Darksaber. It belongs to you." "You mean the glow stick? That's what this is all about?" Carl rolled his eyes. Mmmmmm, I'm with Carl on this one. It's just a lightsaber, and not a very nice one at that. Mando didn't need that thing; he had enough of his own weapons which were plenty powerful. Scarred face man didn't seem in a hurry to nab it either. The only one who was looking- or rather fawning- over it was Bo Katan. Why she'd want that sword, I have no idea.

Mando turned the thing off and stepped forward, holding the handle out for Bo Katan to take. "Now it belongs to her." I grinned. Good job, Mando; I'm so proud my husband isn't a greedy person. Bo Katan, however, hesitated. And of course Gideon had to interject again. "She can't take it; it must be won in battle. In order for her to wield the Darksaber again, she would need to defeat you in combat."

Well that did it. I also stepped forward, now afraid. Carl retracted his arm but stayed very close behind me, keeping an eye on Gideon the whole time. Both he and scarred face man were. "Wait, hold on! You're not fighting him; not over a black lightsaber. I just got my husband back. I'm not going to lose him over something like this." Sensing my resolve, the Mandalorian joined my side and continued to hold the handle up for her to take. "I have what I came for. Now, it's your turn. I yield; it's yours." Mando, I smiled over at him. But that stupid Gideon… He shook his head, grinning this disgusting sinister grin; I think he liked seeing Bo Katan squirm.

"Oh no; it doesn't work that way. The Darksaber doesn't have power; the story does." Story? What story? What's he babbling on about? "Without that blade, she's a pretender to the throne," Gideon made sure to watch Bo Katan's expression as he finished his sentence. She didn't appear as enraged as you'd think. A silent, tense moment passed and Bo Katan's lips parted. "He's right," she finally stated.

I looked at Mando worriedly who also sounded slightly concerned now. "Oh come on, just take it," he urged. Bo Katan's eyes were drawn back down to the saber's handle, and I'm honestly not sure if she would have grabbed it just then or not. But sadly, there wasn't enough time. The alarms started going off, and everyone went into sheer panic mode.
