I have a bunch of chapters pre-written, and have the patience of a gnat on a hot frying pan, so double updates for the next few weeks! Enjoy!
The Villain sat back on the bar stool as he watched the last of the men walk out of the bar, a grin inching across his face.
"You seem happy, Tomura Shigaraki," the dark mist that was the bartender hummed as he cleaned a glass.
"Yeah, I guess I am," Shigaraki cackled, "We have a good crop of cannon fodder, and we won't be taken by surprise this time."
"So, you guys were the ones behind the attack on UA then?" the voice asked, the owner swaggering in a moment later, scratching at the deep purple scars that covered his chin, "I didn't appreciate getting kicked out like that. Took me ages to make my way back here."
"Huh?" Shigaraki growled, glaring at the black-haired man, "Who are you?"
"What, don't remember me?" the stranger asked, "Whatever. The name's Dabi, and I want in on your next atta-."
"Fuck off," the pale-haired man spat, "We told you. Mutant quirks only. Kurogiri, get rid of him, and make sure he stays that way this time!"
"Of course, Tomura Shigaraki," the barman said, his head flaring up and shooting towards Dabi.
"Fuck," the man muttered, dodging to the side as he darted towards the bar. He barely made it two steps before the hand closed around his throat, squeezing painfully as the pinky hovered above his throat, "What the hell is your problem? I'd be a great asset to your cause!"
"Give me one good reason," Shigaraki growled, his finger twitching closer, "Otherwise I'll kill you right now."
"I'm strong."
"Doesn't fucking matter, that brat will be able to copy your quirk," Tomura growled, bringing his finger down.
"Shit, wait!" Dabi barked, fear sparking in his eyes, "Endeavor is my father!"
The finger paused. Shigaraki regarded the man for a moment, before releasing his hand, Dabi stumbling back as he rubbed his throat.
"Interesting," Shigaraki muttered, "Maybe we will have a use for you. Talk."
"Hell of a welcome," he muttered, before turning to Kurogiri, "Hey, this place just for show, or can I get an actual drink here?"
"What would you like?" the barman hummed, having returned to cleaning a glass as if nothing had happened.
"Fireball Whiskey," Dabi said as he sat down, "If you've got."
Izuku opened the door to the small apartment in the dorm that his mother shared with Himiko, calling out a greeting as he entered.
"Izu-kun!" the shout rang out as the girl barrelled into him, the teen laughing as he spun her around in his arms, Himiko pouting slightly as she pulled away, "I'm going to miss you."
"I'll miss you too," Izuku replied as he set her down, "But we have to go on this trip, it's important for us."
"I know, but you'll be gone for a whole week," she sighed, "I won't have anyone to talk to!"
"Didn't Pipi say that she'd visit you over the vacation?" Izuku hummed as he walked with her down the corridor, greeting his mother as they passed the living room, the woman waving back.
"Yeah, but that's only because she has to check on her project," the blond muttered, "I want to spend more time with you."
"Hey, don't worry," Izuku hummed as they stopped outside the door to her room, "I'll be back before you know it, then everyone else will be going home for the rest of the Vacation and we'll have the whole dorms to ourselves!"
"Hmm," Himiko sighed as she leaned against Izuku's chest, "I just have a bad feeling. Like something bad is going to happen."
"Don't worry," Izuku hummed back as he slipped his arms around her, pulling her into a gentle hug, "We'll be with Pros the whole time. I promise we'll be safe."
"Okay," Himiko mumbled as they stepped into her room, Izuku taking the chance to look around it.
When they'd first moved in, Himiko's room had been bare of decorations, almost exactly the same as the other dorm rooms, but Izuku was glad to see that she'd started decorating it. Her walls were decorated with a few posters, mostly for gory horror movies, though a few he recognised as instructional posters on various types of martial arts, mostly ones that involved disarming an armed opponent.
On her bed sat a bat plush, a gift from Pipi, one of the bat girl's apparently expansive collection, which Himiko now picked up and cuddled tightly to herself as she sat on her bed, the covers a bright crimson red, matching her curtains. Her shelf was lined with a few schoolbooks, reminding Izuku that she'd be starting Highschool again soon, though he wasn't sure if she was ready to join actual classes just yet.
"Hey, Izu-kun," the words were soft, muffled as Himiko buried her face in the bat plush's head, "You know, I never got my reward for passing my exams."
"You didn't?" Izuku hummed as he sat beside her, blinking slightly, "Oh right. You didn't."
"Can…Can I get it now?" the voice was even softer than before, Izuku barely able to hear it through the plush.
"Sure, I don't see why not," he hummed in reply, Himiko looking up at him as he leaned closer, her cheeks rosy with a blush.
Their lips touched, Himiko letting out a soft whine as she pushed closer, opening her mouth as she did so. Izuku complied, copying her, and slipping his arms around her shoulders. They sat for a moment, engrossed in their task before Izuku suddenly jerked back, a look of surprise on his face.
"Izu-kun…" Himiko panted slightly, her eyes half-closed yet still with that familiar feral gleam in them as she leaned closer to him, "Why'd you stop?"
"Sorry," he chuckled, wiping his lip, the girl finally seeing the trail of red running down his chin, "I think we got a little over enthusiastic."
"I bit you?" she murmured, her face blank as she stared at him in shock.
"Seems like it."
"Oh no."
"Himi-chi, it's okay, it was an accident," Izuku tried to comfort her, starting when the girl suddenly shoved him back, "Himi-chi?"
"P-please leave," she said her, body suddenly shaking as she tried to pull him off the bed, shoving him towards the door, "Now."
"Himiko, it's okay," Izuku tried again, barely able to get another word out as he was thrust through the door, the wood slamming in his face as he heard the lock click, "What on earth…?"
He trailed off as he felt something bump against his foot, looking down at the key on the floor, obviously having slid out from under the door.
"What's wrong?" his mother asked as she hurried over, her eyes going wide as she saw him pick up the key, looking at it in confusion, "Oh no, is Himiko having another one of her episodes?"
"Episodes?" Izuku asked, his blood running cold as he heard the sudden giggling behind the door, quickly turning to stare at it as the laughter got louder, "Mom, what's going on?"
"We aren't sure, sweety," Inko sighed as she took the key from her son, "But we think it's something to do with her quirk. We still aren't sure what triggers it."
"But all she did was bite me," Izuku muttered, "And it was by accident."
"Bite you, where?" Inko asked, looking at her son before noticing the drying blood on his chin, "Oh dear, I'll have to let Inui-san know about that."
Izuku stood quietly as the two classes gathered outside the busses, staring off into the distance as his mind wandered.
"Hey, earth to Izuku," Neito called, shaking the teen out of his thoughts, "Something wrong?"
"Hmm, oh, sorry. Just thinking about Himi-chi," he muttered, making the blond raise an eyebrow.
"Himi-chi? The homeless girl you're helping? What about her?"
"Nothing," Izuku sighed, rubbing his eyes as he stepped forwards, "Anyway, you should probably head back to your class, we're going to be leaving soon and I have to make sure everyone sits in their designated seats."
"Geez, still keeping secrets from me," Neito sighed, before giving a quick laugh, "Whatever, you'd tell me if it was important. Good luck wrangling that lot."
"Good luck to you too," Izuku laughed, his usual demeanour returning quickly as he walked towards the bus.
"Hey," a tired voice said behind him, making the teen turn to face Shinso, the purple-haired boy looking even more tired than usual, "What the hell am I doing here, Midoriya?"
"Going to Summer Camp?" Izuku replied, a look of confusion on his face as he glanced over the other boy, taking in his beaten-up bag, obviously hastily packed, "Why?"
"Why?... I'm not a Hero Student! Why am I going on your camp with you?" Shinso growled, glaring at the other teen, "This makes no sense!"
"It makes perfect sense," the older voice grumbled as they turned to see Aizawa, the man yawning himself as he scratched at his stubble, "You're going to be joining them soon enough, so we have to make sure you're on par with the rest."
"Joining…but that won't happen until next year!" the purple-haired teen shouted, drawing the attention of the others.
"Huh? Did Nedzu not inform you?" Aizawa grumbled, "Of course he didn't. I have a spare seat in my class. After your performance in the practical exam, we decided to move you up to Heroics starting next term."
"N-next term?" Hitoshi squeaked, staring at the man in shock.
"Congratulations Hi-chan!" Izuku shouted as he hugged the stunned boy, "You're one of us now! One of us! One of us!"
The chant was quickly picked up by the rest of 1-A, the teacher groaning as he left the stunned boy and his enthusiastic friend to talk. He quickly made his way onto the bus, waiting for the rest of the class to join him.
Hitoshi sat at the back of the bus, pressing himself into the corner as he tried to nap, a fruitless endeavour considering the amount of noise the rest of the students were making.
"Let's play the I-spy game! I spy a bank!"
"Hey, give me some pocky!"
"We should play some music! Something summery!"
"Seats are meant to be sat in!"
"I spy the money in the bank!"
"Hey, I said give me some pocky!"
Hitoshi grumbled as he opened his eyes, looking out over the rest of the class. Honestly, he was still somewhat in shock after the news that he'd be joining the class at the start of the next term and was still trying to process exactly what that meant.
"HEY HI-CHAN! Catch!" the shout startled him from his thoughts, his hands snapping up automatically to grab the box that had been flung at him by Midoriya, the teen now grinning at him as he shouted, "Touchdown!"
Hitoshi looked at the object that had been thrown at him, his eyes going wide as he read the label on the box.
"Midoriya!" he shouted, startling the rest of the class, as he'd been mostly silent up until this point, "What the hell is this?"
"Noise-cancelling headphones!" Izuku called back, "I figured you'd want to sleep, so I got you some!"
"I can't take this!" the purple-haired teen sputtered, staring back at the box, "These must have cost a fortune!"
"Think of it as a welcome gift!" Izuku called back, "Anyway, I think Aizawa-sensei has something he wants to say!"
The class all turned to stare at the long-haired man, the teacher simply letting out a quiet growl before he spoke.
"We'll be stopping in about an hour," he said, "After that, we'll make our way towards the lodging you'll all be staying at. Prepare yourselves."
"Prepare ourselves?" the blond with a lightning bolt in his hair said, Hitoshi remembering his name as Kaminari, "What's that mean?"
"You'll see," the man grumbled back cryptically, "Until then, try to keep it down. Shinso isn't the only one trying to catch some sleep."
The box bounced off the back of his head as the teacher looked away, making him start as he snatched it out of the air.
"I got some for you to, dad!" Izuku shouted as he grinned at the scowling man, who quickly opened the box and slipped the earphones over his ears.
