Chapter 126: Finish
The comms device beeped. Clark pressed a button and then said. "Go ahead."
"I've just sent Barry the coordinates." Bruce said, his voice serious.
The messenger beeped and Clark pressed another button and saw the map appear before him. "He's forwarded them to me."
"Good." Bruce said.
"How long will it take you to get there?" Clark asked.
"About thirty minutes, you?" Bruce replied.
"Ten. Barry's already broken the sound barrier." Clark replied, he'd broken it too, but he didn't say that.
"Good." Bruce said.
A moment's silence and then Clark asked. "How do you want to approach this?"
"We're going to give them the chance to surrender." Bruce said.
"Do you think they will?" Clark asked. He doubted it, Atom had made sure of that.
"No." Bruce said simply. "Atom wants to die a martyr, so does Palmer, and the others. All apart from Stargirl, she might want to surrender."
Clark had his doubts, Stargirl had been the most avid of the Resistance that he could remember. He couldn't see her surrendering. "So, how long do we give them to surrender?"
"An hour." Bruce replied.
"Copy that." Clark said. "Anything else?"
"No, I'll see you there." Bruce said, the line went dead then and Clark continued to fly.
He wondered how Bruce was feeling about not going after Ivy and the people who'd taken Selina. He'd told Clark about that and Clark had seen how angry and upset Bruce had been, behind his mask of coldness. But here he was, sorting out a threat to the regime Clark had thrust on him. Clark didn't think he'd be that willing if it were reversed. Lois was his life, and she was gone, and here he was.
"I miss you." He said out loud. He wanted his wife back more than anything, but couldn't think of a way to bring her back. The pits were all destroyed, Bruce had told him that years ago. And now, well she'd be mad even if they weren't. He sighed and lowered himself as the compound came into view.
