Erin was waiting for Kim at a cafe, Kim invited her for coffee before work. Usually she was the type to just get one on the way and get to work early but she definitely needed something to clear her mind. The whole Bunny situation had gone better then planned, Bunny told the feds everything they needed to know, her boyfriend was arrested aswell as everyone else involved and the drugs were recovered. But now Bunny still had to keep clean and out of trouble to prove to Erin and Jay that she could and that was the only way she was going to be apart of their families lives.
Erin was of course anxious, she just still wasn't sure if this was the right decision even if her mother done good out of it. She just didn't want Lily's life to be flipped upside down like hers was but like Jay kept saying he would never ever let that happen, nor would Hank.
Erin heard the door open and saw Kim walking in, stress and worry written on her face. Kim quickly sat down, "Woah Kim, you okay?"
"No, I don't think so."
"Okay what's up?"
"I think I'm pregnant." Kim blurted out.
Erin put her coffee cup down and reached for Kim's hand, "Okay let's calm down a little," she watched a Kim took a deep breath, "Have you taken a test?"
"No but I...I'm two weeks late." Kim shrugged.
"How about before we jump to conclusions you take a test? I have a few at home if you want to skip the pharmacy and go there now? Rip off the bandaid?" Erin suggested.
"Okay let's do that."
"Is it Adam's?"
Kim nodded, "Yep, he has no idea. I mean we aren't even together it was just one night of weakness."
"Come on, it will be okay." Erin said getting up, she knew exactly how Kim felt. She was alone when she found out and she wasn't with Jay, but it worked out for them so hopefully it would work out for Kim and Adam too.
Erin sat outside the bathroom waiting the Kim to come out, then suddenly the door flew open, "I can't look."
"Okay do you want me to?"
Kim nodded, then Erin stepped inside the bathroom and walked towards the test that was sitting on the basin, she looked down and noticed two bright pink lines, she smiled and walked out to Kim who was pacing back and fourth, "Your not pregnant Kim."
"Oh really? Oh okay," Kim said starting to get emotional, "Sorry I don't know why I'm getting upset."
"So now if I told you, you were pregnant how would you feel?"
"What?"
Erin smiled, holding up the test, "Kim your pregnant."
"Why would..."
"Because now you know how you feel about it. Trust me I get that it may not be the perfect timing but when is it ever? I'm sure you and Adam will work it out together."
"I guess your right, thanks Erin. Really it means a lot." Kim smiled hugging her friend.
"Don't mention it, hey maybe we can be pregnant together." Erin shrugged as Kim pulled back.
"Oh my god! Are you and Jay trying?" Kim said happily.
"Yeah we are."
"That's so great, you guys deserve some happiness after everything with Bunny happened."
"Your not wrong but surprisingly it hasn't all been bad, maybe for once she's actually going to turn her life around."
"Just don't get too attached yeah? You know what Bunny can be like."
Erin sighed, "Yeah I know but it's okay to have a little hope isn't it?"
"Yeah I guess."
After a long day at work Erin picked Lily up from daycare, Jay had to stay back so she thought it might be nice for the team to have a little surprise. They always loved it when they gotta mini Halstead visits.
Erin walked in with her 15 month old on her hip, "Hey Trudy."
"Hey there Erin and Lily! Look at you, so big now." Trudy said squeezing Lily's cheek.
"Daddy?" Lily pointed towards the gate.
Both Trudy and Erin laughed, she sure was observant and she didn't want anything to do with Trudy, "Don't take it personal Trudy, some days she doesn't even want a bar of me."
"Maybe this will change her mind," Trudy said pulling out a soft lolly from underneath her desk, "Here you go sweetheart."
"Wow Lil, can you say thankyou?"
"Tankyou." Lily said as she started munching on the lolly.
"Thanks Trudy, I will see you on the way out."
Erin buzzed herself up and walked up the stairs, once she got to the top she let Lily down to run to her dad, "Hey guys thought you's wouldn't mind a visit."
"There's my girl!" Jay said holding his arms wide as he bent down from his chair, Lily started running but tripped over her own feet, she fell down and it made a huge thud, she got up and Jay saw her lip quiver, "Your okay, come on like a showed you, dust it off."
Everyone watched how Jay was and of course the girls couldn't help but smile, the boys were impressed, Jay still even with a little girl kept his cool, Lily dusted her knees and slowly walked to her dad, cuddling in as he picked her up. She was trying to hold it together but Erin knew she was exhausted so of course that wasn't helping.
"Shes one tough little girl." Kevin said.
"Well what do you expect Kev with parents like that." Adam joked.
"Trust me Adam she still has her fair share of meltdowns." Erin chuckled.
"Hey Lily no," Jay said interrupting them as Lily threw his badge she was playing with across the room, "That's naughty."
Erin walked over and picked it up, giving it to Jay, Lily immediately tried to take it from Jay but he put it in his drawer so she couldn't get to it, "No you can't have it anymore I'm sorry."
"No!" Lily screamed before she bust into tears.
"And she doesn't like the word 'no' either." Erin sighed.
"Mummy." Lily said lifting her arms up for Erin.
"What am I chopped liver?" Jay said looking down at his daughter who was squirming away from him, "I say no to her and she doesn't like me anymore."
Erin chuckled, "It's a vicious circle remember."
"Lillian Halstead, is that you I hear." Hank said appearing in the doorway of his office.
"Gwandpa!"
"Hello miss, look what I have for you." He said handing her a lolly, Erin rolled her eyes.
"Hank, Trudy already gave her a lolly, she doesn't need anymore."
Hank passed the Lolly to Lily and squeezed her cheeks, "Just this once."
"Fine."
"So have you heard from Bunny?"
Erin looked around the bullpen to see everyone working away, "Yeah last week. She's working at a cafe instead of the bar so hopefully that keeps her from meeting the wrong people. I think she's truly changing her ways Hank, I think Lily is a big part of that."
"I hope your right kid, you don't need drama in your life anymore. I think she has that covered enough." Hank pointed towards Lily and they both laughed.
"Your not wrong."
Hey everyone! Thankyou all for the reviews, hope everyone is still enjoying this story. How does everyone feel about the Bunny situation? Did we think it was going to turn out bad instead of good? You never know it could still take a turn for the worst, but for now I think we just need some happy Linstead fam times? What do you think?
Also I have been binging the walking dead lately and it got my wanting to do a fanfic using Linstead. What does everyone think about that? Please if your interested let me know in your reviews and then I will maybe post the first chapter I have prepared. Thankyou again!
